Beautiful views, clean rooms, kind service and a beautiful pool to enjoy! The drinks pool side are definitely a must! The plaster on the pool was a bit rough and the pool could have used better cleaning but we did enjoy the water slide and the pool. It was nice they had a fitness center to enjoy as well. The lobby is beautiful and the property itself is a must see.

Such a breathtaking place. The views are stunning, the entire ambiance is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I came here for our 8 year wedding anniversary. The staff was very kind and accommodating, our room was beautiful, clean, and we even had a slice of cake dropped by for our Anniversary. There are a lot of stairs by the pool area but there is wheelchair accessibility. The pool was very clean, the entirety of the pool area was truly spotless. I'm not sure what everyone else was talking about. The water was perfect temperature. You must come here. We ate at the top of the rock and the service was immaculate, they made sure I didn't consume gluten as I have a severe allergy with a specific grain when made for alcohol. Service was truly amazing and beyond.

I am so surprised that the reviews are lower than I expected. I really liked it! I loved the aesthetic. Although the little hiking trail attached to the hotel is more of a stroll up a steep rocky hill. The pool spaces are great and service was good. I wish there were more dining options, so I guess that's why the reviews are not as high. It is overpriced and for a "resort" there should be more options to entice people to want to stay!

Dad had mentioned a really interesting restaurant inside of a hotel where it had a waterfall that he once took mom. And finally we kinda sorta made it. We got to Marketside at the Buttes, around 1:30 but unfortunately found they close at 2pm on weekends. Discouraged we decided we'd just come back again a bit earlier. The bell hop who had helped us find the place noticed us leaving so soon and asked. When we spoke to him he led us to the cocktail lobby. Apparently the bar does their food after they close! And so we sat down and gave the menu a go. Dad loved their lobster bisque from when he last came with Mom but unfortunately it wasn't on the menu, nor was the soup of the day. So we both settled on the California chicken sandwich with a side salad. I also got a virgin Lavendar Collins since it looked good while Dad got iced tea. We knew it was going to be expensive its a place that has a waterfall behind our seats and a spa below us. But it was worth every bite. It was so fresh and delightful. Honestly if we find out when they are serving the lobster bisque I wouldnt be surprised for a round two over here. The bartender was also so sweet and kind with us the entire time!

Every single aspect of my 32nd year of celebrating birthday here was fantastic! From the front desk to gift shop and every person who took such great care of us I thank you. Special shout out to Josie, a truly special person, Ashley Max and Mariah. The grounds are as breathtaking today as they were 32 years ago! I absolutely love this place and so love enjoying it with my family thanks again to all! Ps the BD cake delivered to the room was a great added touch!

Got off flight came in for check-in.. Not very friendly . The parking is $15 self park or valet. The clerk recommended self parking. Definitely, doesn't give we want to provide a service vibes .. stay tune!

My stay was an incredible birthday getaway. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and having dinner while watching the sunset really topped off the whole experience. The room I stayed in was tidy and comfortable with fresh sheets and towels. The only criticism I have is our room was close to one of the pools so it was a little noisy during the day. Overall it was a beautiful place to celebrate!

Doing a staycation. 2 nights. Check in was kind of off... but no problems. As a Marriott Gold I thought I'd at least get a water... but whatever. We drive back down to the room. It was a lovely room. I liked having the Patio. With a 4 on check in... we rushed to go to the pool to relax with a drink. Didn't realize no pool service after 5. That is very strange to me. We have stayed at some of the best resorts in AZ.... And have always had service at least until 6:30-7. Pool area was dirty after the all day activities. Next day.... Bright and early... you have to get up early as it's AZ! Can't get a cup of coffee. Really? Coffee shop opened at 8? No coffee available in the lobby for guests. I think that's terrible. Finally get coffee and head to the pool . Same dirty tables... dirty deck area and glassware and garbage. I can't believe that this isn't done at 5 am. Should be hosed down and cleaned and ready to go by 6 am. Very disappointed. Back to the room. Come back at 10 am to start our pool day. Maybe grab a mimosa. Nope... can't do that... bar doesn't open until 11. What? That's really ridiculous. The water station on deck has warm water. Finally at about 11:30... Annalisa decides to appear with a menu. Zero personality. Zero. She does her job... nothing more or less. Ordered food... it was okay. When asking for cups of ice for our warm water.... We were met with distain. Every resort I have been on provides us with pitchers of fresh ice water and always refreshing it. This was just nit enjoyable. The property is beautiful. No doubt. Will I return. No. Too many other resorts that actually care about their guests.

Once again, the Buttes gets a 5 star from me. We stay here every year on our anniversary and it never disappoints. The only issue that we had was our shower was either set on cold or hot and there was no in between. But I like the hotel so much that I just overlooked that.

We booked this resort for my wife's birthday with our kids, driving 9 hours from California mainly for the pools. Unfortunately, upon arrival the pools were closed and muddy from mountain dirt washed in by rain, a clear design flaw. For a property that advertises pools as a highlight, this was a major letdown. When I asked for at least breakfast vouchers to make up for it, the front desk refused and only waived the $17 resort fee. After paying $700 for two nights, that was insulting. To make matters worse, water drips were scattered throughout the hotel, making the place feel poorly maintained. Overall, what was supposed to be a special family celebration turned into a very disappointing stay. For the price we paid, the experience and customer service fell far short.

A beautiful stay, wish I had more time to play! The pool is stunning, but I ended up working too late each night so I didn't get a swim. Restaurant was nice, outdoor seating option had a great view. I had a room with a patio, so that made for a nice morning fresh air moment. Very hilly terrain so be prepared to walk and manage some stairs to access the pool. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Daily housekeeping super appreciated. Great staff all around!!!

The hotel is in a nice natural setting. The registration and restaurants are separate from the hotel rooms and you can drive up to the area first and then go to the parking area for the rooms or you can park by the rooms and take the elevator to the 5th floor and walk across an open bridge to the registration area. There are umbrella holders but there were only 2 umbrellas so they could be only on one end of the bridge so you could get wet during the rain. The people at the registration desk were pleasant and helpful. The parking for the rooms was okay but if you parked under a tree when it rained, your car would get covered with leaves and dirt. When you get off the elevator to go to your room, there is a locked door at the front of the hallway that you use your key to access. The room was clean and had the basics. It would be nice if they would provide outlets for USB cords but there were electrical outlets around the room. There was a small fridge (empty), a safe, desk and chair. There was another chair with ottoman that was old and uncomfortable. The bathroom had a shower. The shower, soap and shampoo in large containers for everyone to use. I prefer my own amenities personally. The shower floor was slippery and there was no bar to hold on to. The swimming pool was quite large and goes under the walkway bridge with a waterfall in one area. There is a spa also. The area around the pool is natural rocks and pleasant.

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. The shower was of dubious cleanliness. Coffee machine in the room was sub-par (W has nespresso for example). Limited toiletry extras. You can hear virtually every passing car, and I honestly can't remember ever making that complaint about another hotel. On Saturday night, the DJ on the 14th-floor rooftop had the bass turned up so high that our room on the 8th floor was literally thumping. I called to ask whether the music could be turned down and was told it could not, and that it would continue quite late into the evening. I then asked whether the hotel had a couple of fans we could borrow to help mask the noise. Unfortunately, they didn't though they did offer earplugs, which I appreciated. To their credit, the front desk was empathetic and relocated us to another room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall noise issues were still enough that I wouldn't choose to stay here again. If you're planning to enjoy the rooftop nightlife, this may be a great fit. If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, I'd look elsewhere.

I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. I only ended up needing 30 extra minutes but I can't thank her enough for giving me that extra hour! It's people like her who keep me coming back somewhere and I'm happy to say I've already recommended this hotel to a few friends and work colleagues. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. HE: The shower had a bar in it, so I guess it was an accessible shower, but it was like a normal shower. SHE: It had a three-way shower head. HE: Not much of a view out the window. That doesn't matter. SHE: The outlets were in the right places, and it was the first place we stayed at offering breakfast. They had like three or four different friends of coffee, and a waffle maker, and three cereals. HE: There was a lovely lounge eating area, too. And an outdoor area. That was nice. SHE: It was very pleasant. It was luxury for us for this trip. HE: I think we've said all we can say about it. SHE: It was carpeted. HE: Oh yeah, it had carpet. I prefer that.

I got the two queen's beds. It doesn't come with a box spring but the bed is comfortable enough. The Front Desk Agent was very helpful and kind to us upon check in. Parking was $15.00 per night. The room was clean and spacious. A/C was blasting ice cold. The only downside about the Moxy here in Tempe is that it is an old, outdated property. The hallways do have that old motel smell to it, and they were fixing certain things in the hallways. It doesn't have a minibar or refrigerator and if you need ice, you'd have to get that at the bar. For the price I paid, it was worth it. If it is during peak season, then probably would not be worth it.

The fourth floor looks terrible -- there are empty, broken-down rooms and the hallways feel neglected. The carpet on both the fourth floor and first floor is in very bad shape and looks like it hasn't been maintained in a long time. Inside the rooms, the flooring is actually popping up in areas, which makes the whole place feel worn out and poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel just looks very old and neglected now. The elevators are another concern. They make loud noises and honestly sound like they could break at any moment. There is also an unpleasant smell in parts of the building. When you get off the elevator and walk toward the lobby, you can see construction going on, which only adds to the messy and rundown feeling of the property. This place used to be a great stay when we first came here, but now it's honestly pretty shameful to see how much it has deteriorated. The location and concept are great, but the hotel clearly needs serious maintenance and attention.

There is a small supplied kitchen and refrigerator plus cooktop stove and small refrigerator freezer. You easily could live there for months. It has a high top dining and working counter. It has a large screen tv that swivels for watching from bed or living room. It has a clothing closet. It has two low dressers four drawers total. And a nightstand. TV stand has some small shelves. By door you find a shoe and pantry nook for small food storage. Also has a dishwasher. Pros: Can cook and eat there. Rooftop pool with bar. Great location by arena and football stadium. Walkable to restaurants, Trader Joe's, ASU Tempe campus, light rail and buses and transportation center all right there. Town Lake and office complex a few blocks away. Free breakfast every day that's pretty good and varies a little each day with free coffee and other morning drinks. Has a workout room with a great view. Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. Bella from light rail every five to fifteen minutes if you get the southern/western side of the building.
