This is a ma and pop shop. It was empty when I came in. Place is pretty tiny also. I order a medium calzone with pepperoni, mushroom, and pineapple and shared it with my boyfriend. Oh gosh... It was pretty big. She cut it into six slice... We togo 3 slices home.. It was good. I like the texture of the dough. It came out to $14. Price is ok i guess since the calzone was big. The place is not customer friendly. I had a wrong order and called to rectify it. The person on the phone told me it wasn't their problem and that they never get anything wrong. The order was placed through a third party food delivery site. Marri's had no interest in helping me resolve the problem and was increasingly rude as the conversation went on... note this conversation was no longer than 4 minutes. Their customer service is garbage. This was an easy fix and they didn't care to take the steps to resolve the problem. I like to eat, I love pasta, and I really like pizza. I don't usually eat salad. But here, I LOVE the salad they give me. The people here, who work here, are pretty much family, and the way they treat me, my friends and guests, is like I'm their family. This is my second time back!! I grew up with First class pizza and Wise guys my whole life since my parents were always so picky about their pizzas and it's close to home in Villa Park. I came here with my boyfriend, the service was awesome each time! Also the owner is so friendly and welcoming!! He really loves his business and he really cares about his customers! He wants to make sure each customer is satisfy with the service and loving the food. I definitely recommend the chicken Alfredo pizza! It was mouth watering and delicious! Delivery went well, didn't take long, driver got a little lost, happens to almost all trying to find us first time, but he called and quickly sorted out how to get here. Pizza was good, but its the cheese on top style, not my choice for anything greasy like pepperoni. Next time we will try something else. I was very, very disappointed; and it was not because of the quality of the food, it was because of the unwillingness of the service staff to even attempt to make me(a new customer) want to come back after my dissatisfaction when I came to pick up my order. I tried four times, 4 times to order through their official website without success. It would just stall out and not allow me to complete registration as a new customer and complete my order. Finally, I tried to call. When I did that, a pop up window came up asking if I wanted to save $$ by ordering online. I decided to try and was instantly redirected to what I now know was a site that was not connected to Marri's. It showed my cart with my order in it, just like before when I tried to check out on their website; but this time it actually allowed me to pay for my order. But, when I got there, it was not what I ordered...a large Marri's special with onions, olives, and green peppers. It was an extra large Marri's special with none of the extras I had ordered. When I complained, I was told if I had ordered on their website, they could fix it, but I had used another business to order on and I could contact that company's customer service. Really???! I tried ordering on your website 4 times unsuccessfully, was diverted to another website that got my order wrong and now it's not your problem? In the words of the person who "helped" me...."unfortunately, my hands are tied because you didn't order from us". No offer to give me a coupon for a small discount on my next order, not an acknowledgement that there could have been a problem with their website...not even an apology that I didn't get what I really wanted. No indication at all that it mattered whether I was a happy customer or not. I've worked service and retail my entire life. That would be well over 40 years. I was really disappointed to leave there feeling not valued as a customer. On top of that, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, neither of the two people I encountered were wearing protective masks; and the person who I dialogued with , who HANDED ME MY FOOD, was not wearing gloves either. It's definitely American-Italian cuisine in that the food is super rich - just like us fluffy Americans like it. Comfort food to the max. Area of improvement - the soup. I'd like more fresh vegetables in my soup. Also my eggplant parmigiana pasta was so cheesy, I could barely taste the eggplant. The marinara was on point though. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The service was terrible. The cashier was on her phone every time we walked up, she didn't check our order, then forgot items when we finally got it. It was a pickup order and we spent 45 minutes waiting for it and they messed it up still. They did not discount us on anything and tried to offer dessert - we don't want dessert, otherwise we would've ordered it, you should comp something we actually ordered and wanted. On Feb. 8 I ordered their "Tour of Italy" which was supposed to have a portion of lasagna, ravioli and fettucini alfredo. I ordered this using Doordash to surprise a friend in Anaheim. When the Door Dasher arrived to pick up the order the woman at the restaurant had the girl call my friend (who was unaware of what I'd ordered for him) and tell him that they did not have any lasagna. Without knowing what HAD been ordered, the woman at the restaurant had the Dasher ask my friend what he wanted - without telling him what they had available. So my friend, knowing that apparently I'd ordered lasagna just said he guessed he have spaghetti. They did not bother to tell him that I had spent $13.95 for the "Tour of Italy" while their spaghetti cost $8.95! The next day after finding out what I had happened, I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I was told by the man who answered that the manager was not in then but he would be in at 11 the next morning. The next morning I called the restaurant at 11 and asked to speak to the manager. The woman who answered said that there was not a manager, only an owner. When I asked to speak to him, she wanted to know why. When I told her, she told me that she was the woman who had spoken to the Dasher on that night. The phone call went downhill from there. She told me that she had said they were out of Fettucini Alfredo....hmmm, not quite the same as him being told Lasagna. She proceeded to say that she could have given him extra lasagna or ravioli to substitute for the missing Fettucini. My friend assured me that he was never offered anything like that. When I mentioned the difference in the cost of what he was given all she kept saying was that I had to contact Doordash about the money that the restaurant received NO money from Doordash! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! She insisted that they got no money. When I asked how they were paid for the meal, she kept saying that the received no money from Doordash. Wow, what a shame ....how can the poor restaurant survive if they aren't paid for their food! What a crock!!! To say the least I will never be ordering from this restaurant again and when I am down visiting my friend in the area, I will definitely NOT be going there. read more

I was happy to see Marri's pizza in Orange. I wanted to see if it was the same great pizza I remember it to be when I was in high school. Last night I ordered a pepperoni, black olive and garlic pizza and YES it is the same yummy, cheesy, flavorful pizza. Altho the atmosphere is not the same with the fun wooden framed booths where you could write on ceiling, walls and any space you could find. With lights low and funky, red glass candles on each table and I believe rock and roll playing in the background. But that was the 70's! Tried this place tonight since we had a good experience at the one in Anaheim. We were excited to see one opened up closer to home. Went because we craved garlic cheese bread. Upon arrival was a little surprised it seemed more like a take out/delivery pizza place. Once inside we saw some booths and tables so we decided to stay. The service was friendly and attentive. The garlic cheese bread was delicious with perfect paring of marinara sauce. I ordered the baked ziti. The dinner salad was nice, I was happy it was not iceberg. The baked ziti was very hot, and cheesy. My boyfriend ordered the chicken Alfredo fettuccine. I tried a taste of it and I did not like the sauce. He seemed to enjoy it though. The food was so much that we took home half of what we had ordered. We will be returning, but most likely to order take out or delivery. I have to agree with another reviewer that said there is almost too much cheese on the pizza! I will prob order light on the cheese next time, and hope that I got a bad batch of dough... My husband and I have ordered the pizza here several times and have never been let down. My favorite is the margarita pizza and his is the Marri's special. Always fresh ingredients and tastes homemade. The staff is always friendly and takes care to follow Covid-19 protocols. This is a tiny, very casual restaurant. They're famous for their take-out and pizzas. The owner is usually onsite, their server is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet, and their food is better than any Italian restaurant I've been to. My sons love their meatball sandwiches and garlic cheese bread. I love their shrimp scampi--no one does it better. This was in no way a New York thin crust, the crust was doughy and really bread like. Not thin and crispy like a New York thin crust.
