I think everyone can agree that a Dentist is like a hair stylist. You have a bunch of horror stories until you find a great one and then you hold onto them forever. Calling Dr. Young's office a great establishment is an understatement. From the very beginning the entire staff was welcoming and cheerful but in a very genuine way (as if employees were actually happy to come into work!). Janna has helped me through 2 insurance changes and a lost ID and always with a huge smile. Fariba is an absolutely amazing hygienist, always in a great mood, coming up with new and creative ways to convince me to floss and also sharing great toothbrush recommendations and healthy recipes. Dr. Young... The Legend Himself... he is exactly what the rest of the yelp comments say, Talented, Genuine, Sincere, Patient, Thorough, always in a good mood and most importantly Trustworthy. First, I am too busy to make time for the dentist. Second, I don't think teeth are a VITAL ORGAN like the heart! BUT, thanks to Dr Young, I have begun to respect my teeth a little bit. I am taking the time to review Dr Young because he respects the fact that I am busy and I need to get things done with the least number of visits and delays. This is hands down the BEST dentist I've ever been to myself and also for kids! Dr.Young and his staff are the friendliest group along with knowledgeable! The ambience is inviting and ironically not too quiet which actually makes you feel comfortable verses tired or afraid. If you have kids please please come hear, my daughters extraction was the worst thing that a child can go through and they all handled her dramatic antics with love and patience. Dr. Young is a fantastic dentist! He's conservative in his treatment plans and they inform you how to take preventative measures. Plus, the staff is fun and super friendly. Dr. Young and his staff are some of the MOST AMAZING people I've met in a long time!!! How every single team member of an office can be so incredible, is beyond me! The friendly front desk, to our wonderful hygienist, Fariba (she even converted my very difficult "I hate brushing my teeth" teenager to a young man who cares about his teeth - Thank You, Fariba!!), to the wonderful and caring Dentist, Dr. Young, who actually cares and spends a lot of time talking to each patient, personalizing every visit! I had gone to the same dentist for over 20 years but the morale of the office changed over the last couple of years. I have been referred to this dentist office by our sons who couldn't say enough about Dr. Marshall Young. I realize after going to this office why they don't mind visiting the dentist. I'm not sure if it was the great music I was listening to or the surfing video that was showing at the time that made me understand why they don't mind seeing Dr. Young. The office staff was fabulous, and my visit was pain free, that includes my wallet! When I told my husband about how outstanding everyone was, he immediately scheduled his appointment. The office is located on Westcliff, and sits between the florist and the cake shop on the 3rd floor. If you get hungry after your visit, the cakes looked fabulous! Years later, still the best. Had to get off my insurance for a few years and wasn't able to stay current with Dr. Young. After going to another dentist closer to me and having the worst experience ever, I decided to go back to Dr. Young for good even though I have to pay more since it is out of network. Dr. Young takes a conservative treatment approach and really looks at your dental history over years; instead of just singling out a possibly problematic tooth and aggressively treating it. What I mean is that he will look at patterns and cycles of your teeth to determine if there really is any issue at all, or if the tooth really needs treatment. This is an unselfish and unique approach and really makes you respect and appreciate him. He really cares about your wellbeing and dental health, and takes the time to identify and explain what is going on. He just makes you feel good every time you come in, even if there is work that needs to be done. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Young and continue to recommend him to anyone who needs a great dentist. read more

My coworker recommended Dr. Marshall Young to me 7 years ago. She spoke so highly of him that I really didn't believe her, but I needed a dentist. She was 100% right! I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but I actually look forward to visiting Dr. Young. His good, positive energy is exceptional. The customer service is exceptional, too, as is Dr. Young's work. When the anaesthetic wears off, there isn't any pain, unlike every other dentist I've visited. I have an HMO dental plan which doesn't cover Dr. Young, but why would I change to a lesser dentist? Dental peace of mind is priceless! Dr. Young's charges have always been less than I expected. Recently I thought I'd have to get 2 crowns when a different tooth broke each time thanks to amalgam fillings from childhood. Both times Dr. Young was able to fill the tooth for a quarter of the price. I'm very grateful! I referred my Dad to him too and Dad is very happy. Dad's previous dentist dripped something very hot in his mouth (more than once) and Dad almost jumped out of the chair! So I have peace of mind about my Dad's teeth too (he's 80). And Dr. Young is less expensive than Dad's previous dentist. I also love that while sitting in the dental chair I can watch a TV screen showing ocean and island scenery -- it's beautiful and soothing. I am writing this review because when you encounter amazingly, awesome establishments, they needs to be known to help people who are out there shopping for certain services. Too many people get suckered into places and I am hoping this review can help assure others that they need to make that first trip to Dr. Young's office. The whole staff is top notch. The receptionist, Jana, is the first warm face and smile you see and makes you feel right at home. She provides 2 week reminders for appointments, and also day before calls which is extremely helpful with a busy schedule. Very organized, friendly, and a great person to first see and end your visit with. Dr. Young is everything that all the other reviews say and more. He has such a charisma that when you first speak with him, it is as if you have known him for years. He is so informative, honest, and truly cares about the concerns and issues you are having. He listens, and does not just see dollar signs when he opens your mouth. (Which, trust me--exactly what I have going on!) He went over and beyond my expectations. I was quoted and obscene amount at a prior dentist for work, and Dr. Young has every right to have charged more for the superb work he did, and doesn't. On top of that, Marcella, his assistant is so on top of everything and knows exactly what she is doing. She is not one of those assistants that needs babysat. Dr. Young can fully rely on her and she has a warmth about her that really helps with "tough" news you have to hear. She really made me feel better...as well as Dr. Young about my situation. They work in unison and she never misses a beat. She anticipates most everything he needs and makes the whole experience really enjoyable to be a part of. (If I can even say that at a dentist. This guys is awesome, and I hate the dentist!!!! My old dentist moved away, so I went on a search for a dentist. After 6 different dentists gave me 6 totally different diagnosis, I was over it. They all wanted to veneer all of my front teeth. I never asked for veneers, why is everyone insisting I get them? I understand that they have to grind off alot of your tooth to apply a shiny new perfect tooth. I can usually tell when people have veneers. Personally, I dont really want to look like cookie- cutter OC perfection. Im just trying to be the cutest me that I can be. I kind of like my imperfect teeth. But I had a tooth in the front that was starting to discolor, and Im in the beauty industry. So I found Dr Young on Yelp, and decided to try one more dentist. I told the receptionist when I called, that I did not want another dentist to tell me to get veneers to perfect my teeth. She was sweet and laughed. Im sure she thought I was gonna be difficult. Long story short, he said that the only problem was the discolored tooth. He said the tooth was too small to be bonded again. He sent me to the custom veneer factory, to be perfectly color matched by the artist. He and I discussed improving the size of my tooth to close a little gap. A few days later, he put the new tooth on, and it was better than my old one! After inspecting my new tooth, I noticed that one of my other teeth looked a little wierd. So, he added new bonding to it to even out the color, and make it smoother. It was a quick easy fix! I really like that he respected the fact that I like my teeth the way they are. He really listens to me and makes sure that Im happy with the end result! Before he makes any major changes to my front teeth, he gives me a mirror and asks me if what he's thinking is ok with me! The last time I was in, his very sweet assistant noticed that my teeth were all jagged at the bottom. She asked if she could take some of the rough edges off, so they looked a little more even? It was a huge improvement to my smile! I can honestly say that he, and his team are the best I've ever been to by far!!! They are all very nice, and really outgoing! You can tell they all like their jobs! Dr. Young is really random, and funny! He's definitely not your standard uptight, money hungry dentist!! I honestly look foward to going to the dentist, and I send all of my friends! As you can see I'm very anal about my teeth, if your looking for a great dentist at a reasonable price you've just found him!! read more

The dentist and staffs is BY FAR the friendliest people that I've met compared to the other dentists I have experienced in the past. I was referred by a friend of mine and I've been with them for three years and plan on continuing until he retires! LOL I felt like I have a great bond with the entire staffs, especially with Marcela (dental assistant) and Janna (receptionist). They are the sweetest staffs ever! Marshall is not like any dentist that I've experienced before. He LOVES his job, staffs, and patients! His friendly attitude and professionalism had made my visits at ease all the time. He's very informative of the problems I had on my teeth and educated me on the cause and effect. He'll also make sure that I am comfortable while he was working on my teeth. Oh and the shots to numb my mouth that most people are afraid of...I don't know what he did, but I didn't see the needle and didn't feel any pain at all!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?! The machines that he uses in his office are all new and up to date. Most importantly clean and well organized! I don't think the bond and trust that I have for him could be replaced with another dentist. I've referred my friends and coworkers to him and they absolutely love him! Dr Young is awesome. I hadn't been to the dentist in about a year and needed to go. I went to Yelp and decided that I would go to the top rated dentist they have and he showed up. My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Young FOREVER!!! This is the best dental office that I have been to in my whole life. I'm not going to go on and on about how professional, knowledgeable, and talented they all are because that goes without saying. The thing that separates this office from all others is Dr. Young and his amazing staff--- they are the most caring, energetic, positive, and friendly group of people that I have ever encountered. This is the most comfortable and inviting doctor's office that I have ever visited (and I have been in a lot of doctor offices). Janna is ALWAYS so friendly on the phone when helping me make an appointment with my crazy schedule. Marcela is always so sweet and gentle. All of the hygienists are awesome. All I can do is echo the sentiments of every other uber-satisfied patient that has already yelped about the superior customer service that you receive in Dr. Young's care. It starts with Janna at reception who always makes the 30 seconds I have to wait in the waiting room fly by, and continues with wonderful hygienists who not only clean your teeth but educate you on how your specific mouth/gums/saliva need to be cared for. I swear that if I'd had Dr. Young's staff as advisors at an early age I'd have perfect teeth right now. Dr. Young is a perfectionist with a chair-side manner that makes you feel like an old college buddy is working on you. Easy to talk to (when your mouth isn't full of dental tools) and always making sure I'm feeling ok. Recently I had 2 gaps in my teeth filled, and although he had everyone come take a look and we all agreed that they look perfect, he noticed one was slightly misshaped and assured me that he would happily re-do it next time I come in if I so desire. By far the best dentist office I have ever been to. Dr. Young is incredible and so passionate about what he does. He and his staff make getting your teeth cleaned so much fun. We feel like we are part of the family there and have only been seeing him a short while. My son went to see him at 2 years of age.
