One of the smallest Target stores that ive ever seen and been in. Limited on clothing items, and smaller sections for their groceries and other usual items at a Target. All employees are friendly and helpful. Today stopped to buy eggs. Bought 4 18 count cartons. I thought my Target reusable bags were in my backpack but they weren't. There were no insulated Target reusable bags so had to ask for bags. They don't have paper bags, instead it's the felt like reusable bags, that can tear if packed heavy. Michael's uses this same type of reusable bag, and the seam tore when packed heavy. But I made it home on BART without the bags tearing or breaking any eggs. The cashier did a good job packing thrm in 2 separate bags, that he was kind enough to see that 1 bag would be too heavy. He didn't charge me for a second bag. I usually use my backpack to carry purchased items but it was full already.

I never received the 'order ready for pick up' email'. So later in the day, I called the store and they said that my items are having to come from another store. Why did the website say it would be ready in an hour then? Further, the guy said to check back tomorrow. It's now tomorrow and my items are still not in. Now I'm being told it will probably be a couple more days. Seriously, what gives with their inventory process? But there are other stores here along with restaurants and coffee shops. Seems like this is more of a place to hang out at to me. They had live music the time I was here. I got lucky and found some street parking, but make sure you feed that meter, the Berkeley meter patrol doesn't play. They are waiting for that meter to expire and they circle this area a lot!!

My tip: wait until there are only a couple of people ahead of you before heading over so you don't spend extra on parking. I've also sold at the College Avenue location and found Shattuck to be a much better experience overall. Parking was easier, the store felt less crowded, and I thought the men's selection was noticeably stronger. There are lots of consignment options these days, but I received a good amount in store credit for my son's clothes and left happy. I'll definitely be back.

The Men's restroom is usually a bit filthy with an unflushed toilet and a broken seat or two. They may need to hire a punk patrol officer to help the maintenance people stay on top of the riffraff.
