During checkout, one of the staff members, named Teresita, was very unprofessional and unfriendly. I asked her to place my items in a separate bag, but she didn't respond. When I asked again, she looked at me with attitude and said, "I already did." I then asked for her name, and she replied, "I don't feel the need to tell you my name." I pointed out that her name tag was visible and explained that when a customer asks, she should respond politely. I requested to speak with a manager, but it took a long time for anyone to come. While waiting, I asked to take my items since I had already paid. Eventually, the manager, named Edith, arrived. She asked me to explain my concern in front of her staff, but I didn't think that was appropriate and asked if she could excuse Teresita first. When I explained the situation, instead of addressing the concern professionally, the manager defended her staff, saying she was "just doing her job." At that point, I realized the manager was not handling the issue properly. I mentioned that I was in a hurry and needed to go, and as I walked away, she raised her voice and said, "You don't need to cut me off when I'm talking to you." Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Both the staff and the manager showed poor customer service and failed to resolve the issue. The store also had long lines, which made the experience even more frustrating. :(( read more

I love shopping here but will never go back. I walked to the check out line and over heard 2 employees talking about hiring new people. one employee had greeted me, asking if I had a credit card with the store to enter a drawing. the other appeared to be some type of manager. I overheard the employee ask if the store will be taking applications. the manager said yes and they will be start the hiring process soon. she then said "If they're Asian, I don't bother." I am Asian, highly offended and will not be giving the company my business anymore. Disgusting. read more

Employees looked overworked and they are tremendously short staffed. The check out line was wrapped around the walls of the store. I waited in line for over 40 minutes to pay. I asked an employee if they could ask a manager to open more registers and he refused saying that the lines were always like this and it wasn't unusual!!! read more

My only problem with this location is the line is extremely long all the time and they will only have 2 or 3 registers open. This issue is so frequent I look at the line first before shopping and usually leave because I'm not going to wait 2 hours in a line. Hoping they can add more cashiers or maybe this location is doing so well they can afford customers leaving when they see how long the line is. read more

Stopped in to do a quick return on a Friday evening and nothing quick about it! Only 2 registers open and the line was about 15 people deep! Absolutely ridiculous & unsatisfactory! No wonder why brick & mortar businesses are going broke! Poor management! read more

Went there today and Gladys was VERY rude. She barked at me like she was herding cattle. She yelled at me to put the cart on the left side of the door with such attitude, sounded like she was scolding a child. mind you i saw so many ppl not putting their carts away and leaving it in the cashiers aisle and I was thinking how rude, We should be helping these workers not making it harder, so There i go pushing my cart to where there's other carts parked only to be literally scolded?! so rude and offputting i felt so caught off guard i literally thought she was talking to another employee, by the time i realized she was talking to me i was so confused. I love Marshall's but this Montebello Marshall's is sadly very unkept and disorganized. Why is it that the store managers don't reach out to upper management headquarters to get this store and floors professionally cleaned. There's filth all over the floors, dried up spills and dirtiness everywhere. We are fortunate to have this local store and it just seems neglected. I don't see the filthy floors and restrooms in other locations. Let's do better folks. One star for just having the store close to home. PROS: Great deals and excellent merchandise especially if you have a smaller build (30-32 waist, small & medium shirt size). CONS: Long lines and the never ending temptation to buy too many items. The staff are attentive and my returns have been hassle free. Recommended but be patient with the lines which can be quite long particularly on evenings and weekends. read more

On our most recent road adventure, we realized hubby had forgotten to pack a sweatshirt. So we took a scenic route and stopped at a Ross in this same plaza, picked out the items we needed, then realized the line was to the back of the store. I'd never seen anything like it. Hoping for a better scene we walked over to this Marshalls and there was a much better line! maybe 7 people in it. I waited in line while husband found a shirt and sweatshirt. We also picked out two pet costumes for the cats that were near the checkout line. And two bags of plantain chips!!! Aside from the salted ones at Trader Joe's, it's somewhat difficult to find flavored plantain chips outside of Costa Rica. I bought garlic and chili lime. The garlic was so-so but the chili ones were amazing. A huge bag for $3. If I had it to do over I would buy the entire shelf. I'm not kidding. If you're near this store, TRY THESE. SO GOOD and healthy alternative to potato chips. Thanks for carrying this brand, Marshall's!! Please buy more! (Can't wait to check my local store for them). The pet costumes were the only thing that bothered us about this visit. There was an unmarked elephant and a pumpkin for $6. The girl at the register asked the lady next to her how much the elephant was and she said she thought $10 but that the girl had to scan a tag that was similar. It was NOT much nicer than the pumpkin and shouldn't have been more than $6. She went to the back and grabbed a totally different, unrelated and MUCH nicer costume that was $10 and scanned that. I wanted the costume but thought this was a little shady. There was no tag and the two weren't at all similar. They could've compromised at $8 when we said something but they didn't. I wouldn't be back for pet costumes if we were local. read more

The store here is decent, it has a little bit of everything. I love the discounted candles at the price of 5, 6,or 7 dollars for a 3 wick. Occasionally, I'll come by to buy little decorative items for the home. Just like the ross nearby, it is really a hit or. miss with the items at any marshall, tj max, or ross, so you might not want to come in with your hopes high. read more

This Marshalls location is one of my favorites and I'm a avid Marshalls shoppper!! What I love about this store is that they probably have the largest and best clearance section. I actually buy stuff from this clearance section and the clothes are not damaged! I find that the best times to go is during midweek when they get shipment in and the store is fully stocked. read more

I like coming here when I'm bored...sometimes I leave with a few items and sometimes I leave with none. The store is a little messy and can be disorganized, but it still keeps me entertained. I like browsing through the gym clothes, home decor, furniture, and just little random stuff. read more

They have a very good selection of home, personal care, and purses - which is what I go there for. They have very affordable face creams, candles, bath bombs, and kitchenware. I bought a pot there and I love it! It is the same quality as my princess house one and it only costed me $18 read more

Higher quality selection that Ross (also in the same shopping plaza). It's a discount store that has a little bit of everything, but not a whole lot of anything. read more

This place is horrible. There "mega" shoe shop is a measly two rows, and the entire store looks as if an earthquake had just hit it. Shoes were everywhere on the floor, all misplaced, and the price tags above the misplaced floor samples were all missing. The clothes as well, were all disorganized and thrown all over the place. I don't know how anyone can shop with a peace of mind in this store. read more

I go to this store a lot and have never had a problem with store employees. This store is well organized, stocked and continuously brings out new merchandise. The only issue I have is the shoe department could be more organized but that may be due to customers who just leave things lying around. The pet section is the best as I can find lots of things for the doggies. Long lines, yes, but moves along. The best Marshalls to shop at are here and Pasadena. read more
