I was looking for a new jewelry box and some bath towels, so I decided to check out Marshalls. It was a Saturday afternoon and the store wasn't too busy. I quickly found the aisle with a few jewelry boxes and some beauty product organizers, but didn't quite find what I had in mind. I did a quick lap around the store to look at the pet supplies, purses, bath towels, beauty products, and home decor. Their prices are reasonable and I saw a couple things I liked, but didn't buy anything because it was so warm in the store I didn't want to spend extra time in there. The store was fairly neat and organized, with the exception of the toy aisle (to be expected). They had a nice purse selection, similar to the one I saw recently at TJ Maxx. A Marshall's is opening soon in my neighborhood, and I plan to pay it a visit. read more

I stopped buy here with a friend today to look around. It's not a huge Marshall's compared to other's I'd been to, but they did have some nice things. The prices are very good. I noticed they had a lot of inventory in huge boxes sitting around the store that needed to be put away. I looked through a few of the boxes and found two cute makeup bags that I decided to get. I also love their shopping totes. For $0.99 you can't beat it. The line was long at the check out but it moved fast. The young lady helping was very polite and helpful. I go to this Marshall's all the time and I always feel welcomed and can shop independently. Today was different. For some reason, they had their LP person with glasses and a ponytail follow me and stare me down the entire time. I'm a very indecisive shopper and I always like to hold on or wear my items before I decide, so it doesn't help when I'm ostracized in the process. I can understand why that looks weird, but I ended up buying my items??? So this was so unnecessary?? To add to that, he followed me to my car and took a picture of my license plate and walked around like I wouldn't notice anything. I am a manager at a local Sephora and work closely with our loss prevention team & SJPD where we lose around $10,000 to $20,000 worth of items at least every week. So I understand retail loss. I've never felt so singled out and unwelcomed. Will not be going to this Marshall's again. You've just lost a customer that has spent hundreds and thousands of dollars here. read more

Feedback for Fitting Room Staff - Ivan I love shopping at Marshall's, but I had a bad experience with the fitting room attendant- Ivan. This is the second time she has yelled at me. During my last visit, she asked me to put my clothes back on the hanger after trying them on. Although I thought it was her job, I complied. Today, I was in a rush and left the clothes as they were outside after trying them on. She yelled at me again, demanding I turn the clothes properly and put them back on the hanger. I told her it was her job and walked away. I wanted to speak with the manager about training her appropriately but had to leave. I'm leaving this feedback in the hopes that the manager sees it and provides necessary training. read more

Their carts auto lockup at the entrance. This mean you cant really buy anything heavy because you cant use the cart to push it out to you car. There is no drop off in-front so you cant just park your car there. Really dumb strategy. I wont be coming back. read more

Love this Store! It is vast - and well organized. The Shoe Dept is pretty good (good markdowns) and I am embarrassed to say - I can always find a handbag - on sale. The home goods Dept is strong. Love the Holiday decor and the prices. Twice, the lovely lady at check out - perhaps a manager - (Bonnie?) waited on me. (Note: Really long lines the store was packed) She was gracious, efficient and a delight! My son purchased sweat pants at this Marshall store. In less than 24 hrs, he needed to return it because it was tight on him. They refused to take it back. They said the pants were washed. Yes, it does not look new. My son did not look carefully when he purchased it. Meaning that they sell bad stuffs and blame on customers. Also, I purchased 2 dresses from Marshall online. The receipt indicates clearly that return in store/mail. I brought the dresses to this store for return. They refused and told me that these dresses are expensive. I have to mail for return. I always like shopping at Marshalls for their beautiful collection at very low prices. But this particular location needs some help in maintaining the aisles properly. Most of the times it will be completely disorganized. I mostly visit for kids stuff like clothes, toys and most of the times the section will be very messy. I have to dig into it to find some good stuff. The clothes are not arranged as per the size and gender. The parking is always a bit risk here. As there are so many stores in this complex, getting a parking is tough. And those parking spots are really small and I always struggle to fit my compact car in those spots. read more

Shopping at Marshall's today, quite a long line due to weekend and holiday time. I wait in line for 10 minutes, wait to be called to a register. I go up to register 4 after being called next. The cashier doesn't greet me and walks away. I thought , "oh she is just putting something away and will be back to check me out. " Cashier continues to go to next guest and help them. And the neighboring cashier notices me standing there not being helped, and also ignores me and continues to help other guests BEHIND me in line. I finally grab their attention after being ignored and they said "oh we will help you after the line" Why was I called up next only to be ignored and 5 other patrons helped before me. When they finally checked me out, no apologies, no thank you for waiting and sorry for ignoring you. They said "we thought u skipped the line" .......so they ignored me . Completely unacceptable and mistakes happen but they weren't even Apologetic. read more

This is by far the worse marshalls I've been to! It is so unorganized. I got a headache being here and I LOVE SHOPPING. When I say I love shopping, it means I can spend my whole day at marshalls! Well this one, with the amount of workers it has, it's terrible. The greatmall one is more organized and it's a bigger store. Let's start with the shoe area for womans. You cannot find matching shoes with the displays. Look at my pictures attached! the display is completely different from the bottom. They do not have many sizes either! The clearance section!? forget it. You're outta luck! I know people are constantly rampaging through and moving items, but even Ross and DD's discount isn't this bad. They have so many workers here and they are all lollygagging. I get that they are young, but there is no regulation. When I went to pay, the two employees kept chatting away. Stopped by Marshals on Friday and was surprised as to how much it has changed since the last time I went in a few months ago. This place is filthy and so poorly organized. It was frustrating trying to look through clothes. Clearance items are mixed with regular items. I ended up just leaving. Management needs to step up and reorganize this store. read more

Thus far, this is my favorite location. It's a hit or miss. Usually find things on days where it looks like inventory has been stocked. On other days, looks like things have been picked through and racks are empty. Love their make up inventory. High end brands for low prices. They have brands such as Kat Von D, Stila, Mac, Nars and Too Faced. Is it lovely? They have great inventory of sweaters too at a reasonable price. Definitely my favorite location. read more

This Store has a lot of Potential! I don't understand why this store looks like such a dump? My friend that works there is besides himself with the staff there!!!!! I tried to find a match to a shoe and never did find it. This happens two times. Clearance department in kitchen where everything is broken including glass. This is highly dangerous and you touch one little thing the entire shelf falls!!??? There are a few people there in particular that I usually end up having a nice little chat with - last week it was Ferny. :) She was super helpful and kind despite there being a long line - she didn't seem impatient or rushed with me - but still handled the transaction as quickly as possible. Unless you're really a good thrifter/pile digger, don't have high expectations just to come in, find nothing and do a bad write-up. I've found two of my gym joggers here by chance. It's one of the newer discounters in South San Jose but's slowly and surely creeping up to the Marshalls "keep standard" (if you catch my drift). My husband and I shop here pretty frequently for home items. Maybe once a month or so we come in to browse and then usually end up looking at the clothing as well. Clothing items can be hit or miss. Sometimes you find great items, other times not so much. I always recommend trying on items from here because they can often look great on the rack, but then fit differently on an actual body. I went in today to see if I could find some fall appropriate sweaters or cardigans. While I didn't find anything of my liking in regards to that, I did find a few other items I decided to try on. When I approached the dressing room, the woman had me place my items on a rolling cart. Once all my items were up there, she counted each individual one and also felt up every clothing item as if there was something hiding inside of them? I found it very bizarre to be honest, but shrugged it off and headed to my dressing room to try on my items. When I came out, I returned 4 of the 5 items by placing them back on the rack and telling the woman I was going to leave those behind. She again, searched each individual item and then even asked to see the one item I was keeping which was in my hand. At that point, I was disgusted that she kept checking my items. I wasn't sure whether it was because my skin color is brown or because I appear to look much younger than I actually am, or a combination of both. Taking on that kind of energy with your customers can be very detrimental and discourage them from shopping there. It was a really poor reflection on the individual, the staff and the store as a whole. I ended up leaving the single item I had intended to purchase behind because I felt profiled. Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2014 Came here looking for home decor. This Marshall's is located in the Village Oaks Shopping Center on Cottle Road. It was uber crowded when I came here with my mom and son this afternoon. They have more clothes than home decor. I was looking for children's wall art for my son's room with no luck. I did find some large pasta serving bowls made in Portugal which will be great when we have a party at our home. Customer service was friendly in the store and at checkout. I probably won't come back come back because they have a small selection on home decor and such. The other great find was a journal for a mere $3.99 with the Eiffel Tower on the cover with the words 'always' across the cover, super cute!!! Parking is a pain for any of the stores in this plaza. However, this Marshalls isn't too bad of a store. It is a lot newer and a lot cleaner than most other Marshalls I've been to. There is a pretty large selection of women's shoes to choose from which is great and the selection of clothes isn't too bad either. The purse section isn't that large and the women's athletic section is also a little small. But overall, the store is clean and organized. read more

I got a dog toy for $2 on clearance here & found another toy (the kind with a large cylinder squeaker & not filled with stuffing) without a price tag. The register girl rang it up for $2 because she couldn't figure out the price. Winning! I'm quite certain the toy was worth twice as much. Other than that, for Christmas I bought a bunch of silicon bowl covers for my family & we've been using it a bunch ever since. They're a nice replacement for Saran Wrap. They're reusable and are fun and colorful. Other than that, Marshalls is a great place to check out for seasonal decor or gift items (like for Easter or St. Patty's day). They have figurines and baking supplies as well as stationary and party decor (occasionally). read more

Got here at 8:47pm when I specifically called to confirm they close at 9pm since i was driving 25 min here. They're google maps hours also say 9pm as well as their door. When I got here they claimed they were closed because the check out line was long? I could literally see inside and there was 3 people in line. Then the lady proceeds to lie to my face and tell me they were at capacity when I sat and watched 2 people leave. When I questioned she then told me that they were allowing the remaining guests to shop. Absolute shame. You'd think right now businesses would be taking every step to take every single customer. The dressing rooms are the best ones I have ever been to! Each dressing room has two giant lights beside the mirrors which replicate natural lighting very well. There are 10 or so rooms in total and all of them are spacious. The rooms are always clean and staff is quick to remove leftover hangers. There's also an extra tri-panel mirror outside so you can see what your outfit looks like from different angles with less lighting. There are mirrors at the end of nearly every isle too! I like to try clothes on as I am sifting through racks to save time, so this is a big plus as well. The place is cleaner than most Marshall's and the employees are nice. They are very quick to check through your clothes before you enter the dressing rooms, so there's hardly ever any delays there. My only beef is with the selection of clothes. This particular location carries a lot less of the good brand clothes compared to other Marshall's. They have a lot of filler clothes that Marshall's seem to make themselves out of sub-par material and with awkward designs. You have to look through the racks very closely to find something good. This is a big deal because we go here for the purpose of finding good deals for good brands. read more

Walked in at 9:02 after looking at google and yelp stating they close at 9:30. Got kicked out after only coming in for an icecream scooper and they stated they close at 9 now. I asked if I could just get a scooper from the kitchen aisle as this was the only reason I came here and the employee stated, "no, we close at 9pm now". The hours are not posted on the front. The hours were wiped off and never re-entered so I went off google and helps hours. I feel like since the hours weren't listed on the front of the store and the google and yelp descriptions show 9:30, she could of at least let me just grab my ice cream scooper! So frustrated. I went to this location today, and the store was very nice! It was neat and the home department was set up very nicely. I always come to Marshall's for the variety of beauty products and I'm never disappointed. I found body cream, conditioner, and face mist made with all natural ingredients and for a great price! One colored woman went to her and want to talk to her but that woman said "Sorry I only speak English. I can not help you! You must speak English!" Whoa! That colored woman CAN speak English.. uh!? She went another Arab man or India man, He said the SAME things to her like the white woman. He laughed at her. (He is the one that control carts.) Wow.
