I bought a luggage from the Marshals on Stevens creek and found out the zipper was broken so we brought it back to the one on Cottle Road to exchange. The item has a tag attached and with receipt. Was purchased only two weeks prior which is well within their 30 day refund policy. The lady claimed she's the store manager name JENNIFER ROSAS said she can't take the item back because they can't resell it at her store. She said to take it back where we originally purchased the item then walked off. So rude and unprofessional! read more

I went here first for holiday decorations and winter wear. Poor selections. Luckily, I found a Ross store about a mile away. They had much more to choose from at reasonable prices. Marshall's opened this morning to a line of people waiting at the door. I was able to make it in after work around 4pm and...lo and behold...it...was...just...a...Marshall's. Standard sections and similar goods/brands to that of any other Marshall's. I found that the shoe section was smaller than the Campbell location, but everything else seemed the same...including some disarray in the beauty section. With that said, the clothes on opening day were well organized in the appropriate size and category sections. There were plenty of staff members ensuring the store, for the most part, remained organized, but there were not enough checkstands to handle the opening day crowd so a semi-long line had formed. The "crowd" consisted of customers sprinkled throughout the store, but did not impede on the shopping experience. Parking ended up being a bit of an issue, what with some customers heading over to MOD Pizza, Chipotle, and Starbucks as well, but none of the stores were jam packed. There were cars circling about, so I had to park at T-Mobile. I can't imagine how parking would be once all the retail stores/businesses open! Nice standard Marshall's. read more

Had a limited selection of women's dresses (3 styles?) and shapewear. Staff person in the fitting room was kind. Came in to browse and see if I can find some work blouses. Well first of all the selection for plus size women are limited. The store was messy especially in shoes. A customers kid started crying, another customer had 2 dogs of which one of them kept barking, an alarm went off! I was like...wtf, you've gotta be kidding me! I go to get in line and of course I'm behind the lady with the dogs. It continues to bark and of course it comes behind me and jumps on the back of my leg! I like animals but when I'm shopping I don't want to have to hear someone's dog barking nor do I want it jumping on me! If I didn't want my blouses I would have left. read more

Marshalls - Department Stores Near Me - San Jose, California

I got 2 sets of Egyptian cotton lupe towels as a gift and after using them the first time I got millions of blue fuzzy lupes all over my body to such an extend that I tried to Google this problem. I found out that if you wash them with baking soda it's supposed to go away. So I tried it and sadly it didn't work. I tried to return them today and was told it was against marshalls store policy to take back used items without a label. Of course it doesn't have a label! Nobody washes towels with labels! So I called the store on Monday (today is Friday) and was told I would get store credit (even though they are used) today I went in to the store with the huge bag of towels (super embarrassing btw) and they said they couldn't take it back because it's against store policy. I'm very disappointed of marshalls. How are you supposed to buy items for your home if you can't even return them because you are more than unhappy with the quality??? I'll take my money elsewhere where I know that I'm treated as a unhappy customer better ways then here!! Now I'm stuck with towels that are only useful for one, and that is the trash!!! read more

I've always been on the fence about the discount designer place like Marshall, Ross, etc. On one hand you get to buy designer/name brand at a discount but on the other hand there's a chance that the merch may be made specifically for outlet/discount stores. For me the difference lies in the organization and cleanliness of the store. This Marshall is PACKED with stuff. From my experience it felt somewhat like a disorganized yard sale. You have a store with a general layout of where you might find things but the displays and racks are messy. They have a bunch of different items from clothes to small electronics to kitchenware to fragrances etc but the store had a higher level of chaos. I felt very distracted looking around for house slippers and gloves. This is in a great location near a few apartment complexes and some residential housing. It name brands for cheaper prices are your thing than it's worth taking a look but good luck with the organization of the store. Customer service at the register wasn't too crazy and the line moved well. Don't forget to bring bags though! read more

Worst location place to shop. Literally came here to shop for things on my day off and the customer service is very poor!!!! I was getting rung up with the cashier and one of my items did not have a price tag on it and I told the cashier that the price was $2.99. She gave me this look as if I was muring and called her colleague to put a tag on it. Once they put the tag they marked it up to $4.99 and I told them is was $2.99 from the price it was showing in the back racks with all the other same item. Christine the MOD. They both looked dead each other in the eye and just gave me a look and did not end Rey to go locate the item . I had to walk all the way in the back aisle to get the pricing to show them the exact price . Once I bright it up to them they didn't even apologize or anything . Ridiculous service when your customers have to do your job for you . I some to Christine the MOD in charge who was apologetic and agreed that their employees Gould have never done that and they she would have a talk with them. An asian associate did not allow me to return my item without receipt, said could not find my items in the system and her manager Connie B. also told me they could not return it without a receipt as they could not find it. I know this is untrue as they didn't even scan my item with the machine. I went to another store and was able to get everything returned because of course the items scanned without an issue. I want to complain about this as this is not right to lie to the customer and waste the customer's time to wait in line and go through the hassle when the items were returnable. I drove there for nothing when I could have gotten everything returned and use my gift card to buy new items in the store! Beware what they tell you and demand to get it scanned. I didn't want to waste my time as a supervisor told me this but I should have demanded to talk to someone even higher. read more

Oh this is the worst Marshalls I have ever been to. The store manager named "Sukhi" is the worst manager a store can have. she was so damn rude I dont even know if I ever want to go to this store again. I bought a vanity chair from there, the chair was so dirty and dusty I asked if someone can clean it little bit because I have to give this as a gift. Store manager "Sukhi" literally just took a paper napkin touched the chair and said here you go thats all I can do. if you want to buy then buy if not I cant do anything. One of the nicer Marshall's I've visited! Many outlet stores like Marshall's or Tjmaxx accumulate clothing for older to middle aged women, leaving the juniors or women section looking 'out of touch' with today's styles , or like oversized children's designs. What I liked about this Marshall's , was the amount of cute styles and great pieces that you see in the magazines or online! I loved almost every swimsuit I found, and even wanted to snag more workout leggings too. :) In May, we're going on our annual Vegas Vacay, so I needed to update my wardrobe with more fresh , flowy pieces, since the desert is deathly! Marshall's had great rompers, bikinis, crop tops, and everything a girl could need to prepare for the warmer weather. Compared to other Marshall's this one was much cleaner and better organized. Hardly anything on the floor (unless it was meant to be) and everything was racked neatly. What's great about Marshall's also, is they have one of each, or a few sizes of the same styles- so you're guaranteed to be one of a kind in all your outings. I'm typically a fan of TJmaxx since other Marshall's felt more 'adult' or middle aged, but this one opened my eyes for sure. :) read more

The collection is good but the cashier I had was terrible. Please make sure the cashiers you hire know that USA has coins too. It is not acceptable to squint at coins for hours and act like people are giving you fakes. (I think a cashier should know all the different coins and bills the country has. And, be polite. Marshalls overall is a good place to go to for your holiday shopping, went in today to get some of their offers for the season, and was met with disdain at the checkout by a cashier Tina. Just overall a bad experience, usually I am met with a greeting when checking out but it seemed this lady just hated working here, maybe she does but the customers should not be met with an ugly attitude. Really expected better because this is my favorite locations to find hidden gems. Hence the 3 stars. read more

The employees at the registers are ridiculously pushy with offering store credit. If they ask once or twice and they get a no for an answer from a customer they should stop and back off instead they asking you to two or three more times if you're sure and then at the end of the sale they're still asking you if you sure because you could save 20 or 30 bucks depending on how much you buy. Not everyone wants to buy on credit, not everyone is interested in opening credit cards, some of us actually have money and just want to pay and get out. So back off and get a clue, and the managenent needs to stop pushing this idiot credit ideology on the employees and customers. read more

It is now my second time coming to this store and location and let me say I still wasn't impressed. I thought eh, maybe the first time when I came and it was messy that maybe they had a busy day. Well for starters I was browsing through the junior tops and I seen one old navy shirt, and one (Mossimo), a target brand shirt. Man do they just return anything here? And the bad part was they were being sold as regular priced clothes. I go to lingerie and it's worse everything is on the floor. Now I get looking for bras and underwear at any store can be messy. There was clothes mixed with bras, underwear were completely mixed it was a headache. This store is probably worse than Ross. The only thing that was well and clean was the fitting rooms. The staff at this store is very unimpressive.. I went to make a return and the clerk (Jamie) wasn't friendly, or even very polite. He didn't ask, just tried to make me take store credit, and argued when I asked for cash. His manager barely acknowledged the customers, and the rest of the staff wasn't helpful when there was a line, they just stood around talking. The selection is not spectacular, but decent. The shoe section is a bit small. Nice selection of women's athletic clothes. The floor was well organized. read more

I remember my college professor telling us to wait at least 48 hours before writing a angry review online about a experience you've had. Well.... it's been 3 weeks. We've been doing a lot of our shopping here as we just moved in around the corner into the new apartment complex and needed everything from kitchen supplies to furniture. I went in to purchase a chair for our living room. They had a sticker price on the chair of $79 something. So I placed the chair on hold because I didn't have my truck with me. I come back the next day and the chair is no longer on hold so I go into their furniture area to grab it and thankfully it's there. Right away I notice it no longer has the tag on there. I take it up to the register and let them know that it was $79 yesterday when I had placed it on hold. After 10 minutes of the cashier researching she tells me that it's $99. No big deal, it's only $20 more but the fact that someone took the sticker off and put it back knowing I had it on hold was upsetting. Either way, the cashier was very friendly and on my side so she grabbed her manager to ask if they can do something. This 1 STAR review is for the manager. He was extremely rude, didn't look at me in the eyes, and just straight up told her "nope, he's just trying to get a deal" and walked away. Looks like I'll only be shopping at TJ Maxx from now on. read more

Seriously you don't usually have much of a review when you go to retails stores unless it's bad but with this store I actually had a great experience with the customer service at this store. So two weeks ago I bought a pair of jeans that I misread the size and of course threw away the receipt of course and all I had was the marshallls tag not even the brand tag. I thought I was stuck with a small pair of jeans! But there was three girls that helped so much! The manager Aurora went above and beyond the call of a retail manager she could of easily just said no to me. But she actually went found my transaction from two weeks ago!! And matched it to my bank statement and refunded me! I couldn't believe the help I got! I would like to thank aurora Marisa and the tall blonde( I didn't get her name) for all of their great customer service! read more
