Carne asada super burrito con hot sauce!!!
Lizzie L.

Hmmmmmmm... as Larry David would say, "Pretty pretty good." We didn't know what to expect, but we thought we'd try something different than a deli sandwich. So, TORTA it is! The menu is extensive. Lots of choices!!! Was impressed with all the women behind the counter - taking orders and cooking. Yup! We felt like we were visiting our abuela's kitchen. My BF ordered the Milanesa de Pollo torta which equates to a real delicious chicken sandwich with all the fixings! Don't forget the hot sauce. Oh, yeahhhhhhh. The torta is cooked perfectly - hot, crispy with gooey cheese. Are you salivating yet? I am just writing this review. I ordered a carne asada super burrito with the works. Also, very yummy, but not as delicious as my favorite super burrito from Tacqueria San Bruno. But, if I can't drive out to San Bruno from SF, then Tortas Los Picudos' super burrito works for me. Did I tell you that the tortilla is grilled? Nice touch! While waiting for our order, we noticed the clientele. They're local construction workers and if you know anything about small SF restaurants, the construction workers know where good food is and at a good price. Check it out!!!

I've had both the carnitas torta and the milanesa de res and both are just AMAZING. The sandwiches are pricey but for the huge portion you get, it's totally worth it!! Last time I went I wanted a horchata but they only had the strawberry agua fresca which they gave me a of. A+, would get for a refreshing fruity treat! Call ahead to order and pick up in fifteen minutes to save time - they get super busy during meal times (for good reason) and it's usually difficult to find parking if you drive. Otherwise accessible by bus or walking in the mission district.

Came here on a Saturday night and luckily beat the rush! Their menu is quite extensive but we tried the torta res/milanesa. $17 for a nice hefty sandwich. Very tasty! Nice crunch yet softness from the bread, loved the texture of the meat and how it was cooked as well as all the fixings inside the sandwich. There's a small area for seating that they provide two hot sauces. Fun little stop, I'd be interested to come back and try a different torta next time!

As a native I want to gatekeep this place however I want it to continue to be around for many more years to come. I've been coming to this wonderful place since I was Kid. They have the best torta cubana (Mexican interpretation) I always get an agua fresca from them their piña is always fresh, service is fast and always friendly due expect them to be busy especially around lunch time. Ambiance is a wonderful hole in the wall with a small seating space but they play the music that reminds me of my dad's playlist.

Been going to their Richmond location since I was a kid and the quality in their SF location did not change! Such a massive and filling torta--I recommend sharing! The bestest mostest consistent torta you can have!

Torta de milanesa de res and Torta de desebrada is great here. The service is solid, with a wait time of 20 minutes after you place your order, seating is limited. Agua Fresca de melon was delicious. The only disappointment was the carne asada burrito I ordered to go to eat later, and when I did, I noted the meat quality was poor compared to other places. Also, the green and red salsas are okay, not the best.

Cubana torta with everything

If you're feeling hungry, don't know what to get, and in the mood for anything, get the cubana torta with everything. It literally has everything. Beef ham sausage tomatoes mayo Swiss cheese jalepeno, add the avocado because, why not you only live once. This torta sandwich is so hefty I think in hindsight I should have left the other half for lunch the next day, but yeah, I didn't. I ate it all, it's cinco de mayo and I'm about to get some margaritas. No ragrets Eating this cubana torta was a pretty difficult thing to do in public, it's so large and stuffed with ingredients, there is literally no clean and well mannered way to eat this. I think definitely not a 'first date' food unless you just met your date on tinder and are into some messy messy things. That or you've known your partner for so long you could identify their farts. Salsas red and green were delicious and the red gave a nice kick to the taste buds, literally a few beads of sweat are coming down my forehead as I type this. Restaurant is passable clean, dining room is a bit in the stuffier side and may be difficult to sit comfortably. Service is nice and friendly Would I come back? Yes I would indeed, would I make some important life choices by choosing a less messy torta, yes probably. Do note tho, $18bucks out the door for a torta cubana, so on the pricier side of a sandwich, but given the amount of meats and fresh made ingredients, I'd say worth it.

Solid good tortas over all. Call ahead because they take long to get your order ready. They have seating inside with salsa on tables.

I had my first torta here and I will definitely be eating more! Service is quick and friendly, and I ordered the Milanesa con pollo with avocado and queen fresco ($16). Their bread was very crispy, and the fried breaded chicken was juicy and well seasoned. I loved the freshness of the veggies, even when they started slipping out because the sandwich was too big! I could only finish half, so beware of the large portions. I think the torta just needs some hot sauce but that could just be the non Latin x in me...

I haven't been here in awhile, but I for sure need to go back ASAP. I remember the sandwich being REALLY yummy. The vibe inside is very taqueria like restaurant & you order, pay, then wait for your food. They have a pretty good space of indoor dining. I do remember parking being hard. I don't know if it still is since I haven't gone back recently.

My first time here . I ordered a Cubana sandwich. it was good. I liked it . The ladies working there are so sweet and friendly. There is a bit of language barriers but that's not an issue at all. They can get your order and help you however you need your food to be ready. They have a pretty small sitting area. If you are planning to hangout with friends probably not a good spot but if you are hungry and planning to go eat and leave they have enough space . I will be back again to order something else.

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! The ingredients were tasty, well seasoned and fresh. Service is quick, food and ambiance are no frills and cash only. I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! This is the only way to do it and I now totally understand the hype.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

Despite how packed it was, the restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was lively, and everyone working there was incredibly friendly. I ordered the burrito while my friends went with a variety of tacos. After trying both, I actually think the tacos are the stronger option. The burrito was flavorful and packed with a generous amount of guacamole, but it was very sloppy. With all the delicious juices from the meat and veggies and no rice to soak everything up, it fell apart pretty quickly. Thank goodness there is a single restroom in the back, which came in handy afterward to wash up. The tacos, on the other hand, were btter balanced and held together much better while still delivering plenty of flavor. The prices were also very reasonable considering how popular the place is.
