One of our biggest fears was not recognizing our little girl after she was prepared. We were terrified that she would not look like herself, and that thought weighed heavily on our hearts. But when we had our private family viewing, we were overwhelmed with relief and peace. Lizzie looked just like herself -- peaceful, beautiful, and so lovingly cared for. It meant more to us than words can truly express and gave our family a sense of comfort during an unimaginable moment. Every detail was handled thoughtfully, and every interaction reminded us that they genuinely cared about our daughter and our family. When it came time for me to request a Death Certificate I was told that I would have to order it online. That was very strange and very unprofessional to me. I was told there were 3 of them and another family member had them. I was willing to pay what ever the cost was. A very kind person that worked at the cemetery told me the funeral home gives out 15 at a time, for families that need them to close out banking accounts and for insurance purposes ect. I am totally shocked by the behavior of the Under Taker Michael Lanza who takes pride in his website to tell others how sympathetic he is to grieving families and just shook me off by telling me to order on line. In a time of mourning and grief I would have hoped for him to be more helpful and understanding. People that are in mourning don't deserve to be treated like that. For this one reason I do not recommend this place. I was not trying to go behind anybody's back. I was friends with my ex-husband for over 40 years and I held his hand till he took his last breath so you know nothing about me. How dare you say that about me, you need to respect your elders because one day you're going to be there too. I'm glad to hear that there's no friction in your family. With a personality like yours, and a lack of respect for people, seems like the only reason you are employed there is because of your family. Good luck to you in the future. P.S. A close family friend recently passed away and McLaughlin & sons handled the transport to St Patrick's church and also to St Charles Cemetery ( there was no wake) The gentleman who served as Pall Bearers were just wonderful in every aspect. They took part in the Mass at both locations, and were also very gracious, kind, respectful, professional and, yes, personable. The day before the ceremony my friend's family called to confirm the priest will be available for the ceremony and they were told yes. At 5:45pm the day of the ceremony, my friend asked the director or manager ( whoever he was) what time the priest was getting there. It wasn't until 8pm we were told the priest wasn't coming and they would be unable to have the ceremony that night. They were told to come back in the morning at 8:30 and the priest would be there. Fast forward 1 week later my friend goes to pick up the death certificate, which was incorrect and the coordinator, Helen, was disrespectful and initially wouldn't own up to her mistake. Her response was "what do you want me say, I messed up?, fine, I did" AND still charged to fix her mistake. They're getting 2 stars because the night of the event the managers that were there seemed to try to make the effort to help. But Helen, she's inconsiderate, disrespectful and lacking in decency.
