Martini turned into the best "forced hand" reservation we ever made and we will be going back! From the very attentive waitress, to our dessert & coffee, every single thing was superb. We settled on the filet special covered in melty cheese with just a few noodles & broccoli to make the perfect amount, but we did split their house salad, and I thought my husband may lick the plate clean of the dressing haha We had the calamari & a side of mushrooms with our steak, they were also amazing. We finally shared a delicious cremebrûlée for dessert. It is much larger than any other restaurant serves, so we could barely finish it! The only downside of our night is a matter of taste; my husband's specialty Old Fashioned turned out to be a lot sweeter than he is used to, but I quite enjoyed it! read more

Dinner with my old boss. It's been years since I've eaten at Martini's, not because of any bad experience, but because the food at Marcella's is so much better and affordable. We decided on Martini to shake it up a bit. First off, this is a beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. Add the excellent attention and service, and you have the foundations to a great dining experience. We skipped the appetizers and went for a salad and entree. I got the Lamb pappardelle and a Caesar salad. Both were delicious. While both were good, we kept comparing the dining experience to Marcella's. We always leave there feeling like we have a much better happy hour experience with a great value. We both looked at each other and said, next time we are going back to Marcella's. This place is must when in town for work. Our waiter, Dan, was absolutely fantastic. He made great suggestions, was attentive, and matched our enthusiastic energy really well. My son had the lamb paperdelle which looked great, was a nice sized portion, and he said it was very good. I had the chicken parmigiana, which was an overly refined presentation, but tasty. I prefer a traditional parmigiana in a deep dish loaded with sauce and cheese. Affogato for desert was a great presentation and yummy! This is a good restaurant with a varied menu and is, true to its PR, "modern Italian." If you want an Italian meal go elsewhere. Came here on a Friday night and the place was packed! Although it was packed the service was great and actually pretty fast! We got the beet salad to start and we both got the Lamb Pappardelle Pasta since it was raved about! Personally it wasn't jaw dropping that I would get it again and the noodles themselves lacked salt. I would also like to send kudos to Kevin, the bartender. He's amazing. I asked for a wine pairing, but the pairing was a flop. Either your wine catalogue needs better attention, or you should train the staff. The key thing that stopped me from 5 stars was my take-home order. I am a huge fan of creamy pasta. I ordered the carbonara to go. ***before you start*** This carbonara was not a traditional noodle. It didn't feature the noodles, the egg, or otherwise. It featured asparagus and other elements. Texture was off, but not in a good way. I would definitely recommend a re-evaluation of that carbonara. I look forward to coming back with a more sophisticated wine menu/recommendation, and a carbonara that will appeal for its price point. read more

One of the best meals I've had in Columbus. Had a reservation, which I would recommend because it's fairly business. Definitely a more elevated and elegant atmosphere. I ordered an espresso martini which was delicious. For food, we started off with the garlic bread, and it was amazing. I ordered a salad and a side of Cacio E Pepe for my meal. The side portion of Cacio E Pepe was a very good deal and portion size for $8. Others at the table ordered chicken Parmesan and were very impressed with that as well. For dessert, we split the Crème Brulle and it was delightful. Our server was amazing and checked on us frequently. We overall had a wonderful experience at Martini, and it's definitely expensive and more of a treat place, but I hope to return for a special occasion! read more

This continues to be one of our go to favorites. We had the garlic bread with fondue for the first time and it was excellent. Then we both got our favorites. My wife got the beet salad that she loves and I got the Veal Chop. Thankfully they brought back a version of the veal chop that I love which used to come with an agrodolce sauce and Cipollini onions and now it has a similar sauce with peppers which was very good but I still prefer the original. We got a side of the pasta Cacio a Pepe , which normally I like, but I did not like their version. I would not get that again. I've been here a few times over the years. Always great food... Started with the Caeser salad. Really nice salad with LOTS of Parm! I really love parmesan cheese, but my table mates were not as enthused as I. One thing I would have loved was the option to add some anchovies, but there was no offer. It's in their name, so I would guess they know how to make one, right? WRONG! I specifically asked for it to be stirred (all of you know how I like my martinis). They poured the gin into a shaker with some ice, (where it sat at the bar for forever) at which point the waitress (who needed an attituded adjustment herself) brings it to the table and starts shaking the hell out of it. I couldn't believe it! I asked her to stop, and she just kept going. She said, it won't be cold if it's not shaken... I guess the bottom line is, order it however you want, but you'll get it the way they want to serve it. The entree was absolutely AMAZING! Butternut squash tortellini. Jeez, what an incredible dish! So, the pasta and filling are outstanding. The sauce it's served with is exceptional. It's not an alfredo (which I was afraid of), but a cream reduction that was just great. The squash filling wasn't too sweet or too strong with nutmeg. I could eat this at least once a week and never get tired of it! So, after the martini, there was another foible. Our waitress didn't offer bread until after the entrees were brought to the table. Of course, the patrons pay for the bread course, but pasta without bread is sacrilege. We gladly accepted and ordered the focaccia with black truffle and cheese. I thought it was perfect, but my dining companions thought there was too much parm. As though there's such a thing as too much parm???? The dining room is very clean and pretty. The meals are brought from the kitchen in covered pots and served table side. Nice touch. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in town, but I'll have my martini in my hotel room and order a glass of iced tea at the restaurant. For a couple or single diner, get a table lining the wall for privacy or sit at the bar. I now know waaaay too much about the lives of the surrounding diners). The house margarita is a fine margarita - really good. Not too sweet. The habanero in the salt on the rim is non-existent - sounds nice though. The wine list is lacking. Bread service is perfect. The warm sliced bread is served with a small dish of house made pesto and a dish of olive oil with a touch of balsamic vinegar. The zuppa pomodoro (tomato soup) is thick and full of flavor. The slice of toasted bread is perfect to dip in it or break it up and eat with a spoon. Perfect for chilly days. The short rib is good. It is reminiscent of my grandma's pot roast more than short ribs. I loved my grandma's pot roast. So, if one wants a good pot roast with carrots, this is the dish. Not epic. The pasta was overcooked - mushy. Not fresh. The veal was lacking flavor. The chocolate bread is just ok and yet we were told it is the most popular dessert - let that set one's expectation. The lemon meringue pie has a very nice meringue, a creamy tart center, a little too sweet, and large blackberries tucked inside. Love this spot in Downtown Columbus on High Street! Atmosphere is very nice, somewhat casual yet classy. They offer a nice menu and wine selection. Tonight dinner was delicious however one of our meals arrived to the table cold. I assume it was ready and waiting before the other dish was ready. We gently let the server know the pasta dish was cold and he offered to make things right with a replacement. We opted to keep the dish. Shortly after the manager stopped by and offered his apologies and comped the cold dish. Handed well. Great customer service. As someone who truly appreciates elevated cuisine, I have to say--this meal was exceptional from start to finish. Ordered the "LAMB PAPPARDELLE (GF) Braised Lamb, Wild Mushrooms, Chianti Wine Reduction, Parmigiano Reggiano". From menu I opted to customize my order, substituting the lamb with a perfectly cooked filet, medium, sliced beautifully over the dish. The steak was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender--flavorful, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. I only wish I had asked for a light drizzle of truffle oil to finish it off, but honestly, it was outstanding as is. The pasta? Spot-on al dente. Every bite had that ideal balance of texture and taste that only a kitchen with serious skill can deliver. We decided to split our group because of the mixup, they gave us the serving of bread. It was wonderful look at the pictures. I decided to order the heritage beet salad with the homemade butternut squash tortellini covered with a beautiful white sauce. One of my Sweet Adeline's singing partners ordered the same thing and she and I agreed this would be the only time we should lick the plate, but in the nick of time we remembered our manners. If you're downtown watching a hockey game, shopping or listening to a Sweet Adelines International competition stop by this place and rest your feet. They also have a really nice bar. Another amazing Camron Mitchell restaurant. Came here before a show in downtown and was super impressed. Our sever John was fantastic and offered lots of good recommendations. Our food was delicious and perfectly cooked as always. Recommend adding shrimp to the penne. The interior design of the restaurant was beautiful too. Very upbeat vibe here even for our earlier dinner. My only complaint and I use that word quite loosely was that bread did not come with the meal a this is an Italian restaurant. I took my friend here for her birthday dinner. Fortunately, the restaurant is also conveniently located close to the hockey arena. We had tickets for the game that night and I was able to snag a last minute reservation for an early dinner at 4:30. Although it was early, the restaurant was already starting to be busy. We were seated immediately. The place had a romantic and a smart casual vibe. They had people who were dressier than others and people in their hockey jerseys and jeans as well. We skipped the appetizers and went straight for the main course after ordering a couple of drinks. I had a glass of cabernet and my friend had a cocktail. I had the scallops which were served with Swiss chard, balsamic glazed mushrooms and brown butter. My friend had the salmon. We both enjoyed our meals. They were delicious and well prepared. For dessert, they brought her something special for her birthday and I ordered the tiramisu which came in a form of a cupcake almost. The desserts were wonderful as well. The wait service was nice. I love Cameron Mitchell restaurants. I am so disappointed to write this review and to of had the dinner I did at Martini. I was under the impression you could ask for substitutions or add on to entrees. I had in mind the mushroom pasta w the steak from the tenderloin entree (blue cheese/brie cheese yum!) the server was confused by my order but repeated it back exactly and said he could do it. Unfortunately it came out as two separate entrees then it just went off the rails from there. The girl bringing the food out was sweet as could be, but just took the filet in the back in the kitchen put it on separate plate and brought it back out to me. I could have just done that but I had just wanted it together like we talked about. Go to martinis just order off the menu no adding protein or toppings and you should be fine. We just had drinks and appetizers, but the bar service was rock solid in true Cameron Mitchell style. The bartenders know their stuff and make the classics well. We really enjoyed both the tuna tartare and the fresh mozzarella. The buffalo mozz was very creamy and served with sun dried tomatoes, crostini, and a delicious pesto dipping sauce.
