Pear and Brie Pizza...olive oil, blue cheese, prosciutto, arugula, spicy drizzle $19 for my mom. Caesar Salad...romaine, grated parmesan, focaccia croutons $10 for me with the Roasted Pistachio and Goat Cheese ... olive oil, asparagus, red peppers, local honey drizzle $17. Figs have a special place in Italian cuisine and so it is no surprise that this classic Italian spot has figs in their name. After this riveting fig fact, you'll expect me to get a fig dish but I might have wiffed a little on that. Getting in was surprisingly easy for a Grandview restaurant. Plus, I love how they comp an hour of parking! On the food - the real reason why I go out of my house outside of work, i was tempted by their Tuscan shrimp and scallops and it did not disappoint. Probably the best decision I've made all week. I loved the contrast of textures that the pine nuts offered. The shrimp and scallops are fresh and perfectly cooked. We decided to try Figlio out for Restaurant Week. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and they had a great selection of wines. The Restaurant Week menu was salad, entrée and dessert for $30 which was a great deal. I really enjoyed my arugula, spiinach and goat cheese salad (the flavor profiles were great!), but the pacing of the next course was frustrating as we began our salads, the meal immediately came out. The prosciutto and artichoke entrée was delicious as well with a light garlic sauce over fresh pasta with spinach and tomatoes. I finished with the crème brulee which was the star of the show! I liked Figlio. I don't think they have a happy hour, but I'd definitely give them another shot. read more

I heard great things about Figlio & was so excited to try. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. Ordered a couple entrées for pick up and was sorely disappointed with my pizza. I got the Margherita plus plus pizza and it came out cold, without the balsamic glaze. The food here is always a win. And the service was great. Thank you for taking good care of us, Alyssa! We went for Restaurant Week. For starters I enjoyed a very dirty Tito's martini with extra Gorgonzola stuffed olives. I had the Caesar salad, pasta with chicken and red pepper cream sauce, and the tiramisu. The Caesar salad was a bit bland I admit - it needed more garlic. But the lettuce was super cold which I love. The pasta was amazing. Super creamy with plenty of sauce for the bread which they serve with a yummy olive oil and herb mixture. The olive oil is a very good quality - bright and green. The tiramisu - WOW! The best I've had. They make everything they serve from scratch there. But the tiramisu is delivered from New York City bc it's that good. It's worth going here just for the tiramisu. Pizza-centric but don't sleep on the bread, wine and dessert. Got a table for two on a Friday night around 8:00 without a reservation. I was surprised at the large size of the place because you only see one half of the dining room when walking in the front door. We sat in the second room with the bar, and the dim lights set a perfect date night ambiance. Upon being seated we received a plate of their focaccia and oil, and it stands out in a great way against other Italian restaurants. From there we had three glasses of wine at about $10-$11 per glass. The fall harvest pizza had a spicy kick (as described on the menu) and was solid. I liked prosciutto hot honey pizza a little better, but I feel like I would have liked any of their pizzas due to the not too crisp/not too thin thin flatbread crust. Finished up with the voodoo brownie and tiramisu. Tiramisu was good; voodoo brownie topped with ice cream and drenched in chocolate was great. Lastly the service was outstanding. Very nice and attentive, and they smoothly handled the gift certificate that we used for a portion of the tab. Grandview Ave has many restaurants to choose from between 1st and 5th Aves, but Figlio will not disappoint. read more

Everyone is really friendly. Any business should give a heads up if something costs extra. The gf bread that was brought out wasn't good and couldn't really soak up the oil. My wife and I were regulars at the Riverside location for years before Covid and real estate values killed it. We took an old friend to the Grandview location to relive the good times before our relocation to PA. The feel was very familiar, and we enjoyed the evening. I always order a glass of whatever wine special they have, and the Italian red did not disappoint. I was a little disappointed to see that the menu was a little smaller that the Riverside restaurant's, and my all-time-favorite dish (mushroom and roasted chicken ravioli) was not available. I was able to find something else, and enjoyed the lemon chicken with parmesan cream pasta. My wife had the chicken diablo, and our friend went with the classic spaghetti and meatballs. We all loved our meals, deserts, and drinks. Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. They have been around for over 20 years and for good reason. We started with the cote du Rhône wine special, the bartender gave us a taste before we ordered. They brought the bread with olive oil over almost instantly, the herbs were a great touch. We shared the smoked salmon pizza special and the chicken Diablo pasta. I made a reservation prior by calling which I strongly suggest as it was busy but maybe because of frustrating because I had been there one time before. My friend and I ordered the three-course meal which included a fantastic salad, Spinach/Arugula Salad Gomes sprouts with vinaigrette, pear, honey glazed pecans, chevre, pickled red onions. It was super delicious and highly recommended by me! I also got to try a seltzer that was in a can, Seventh Son's Guava-Lime Seltzer. It was such a good mix with the food For my main course, I had a pasta dish that I cannot find the name of as the restaurant week menu is now expired. This was my first time at Figlio's and I enjoyed it! The atmosphere was nice but a little worn down, like it needed a new coat of paint and updated wall art, but it still felt like a well established local Italian restaurant in the best way possible. Our server was great and brought us additional bread and oil/herbs which was nice. Our table of 3 kept going through it so quickly. She was also accommodating and able to provide us modified oil/herbs with only select herbs for one of the people at the table. I ordered a glass of cabernet and they did a nice HEALTHY pour which was a nice surprise! There was no cheating out on the drinks thats for sure. I ordered the prosciutto hot honey pizza which was a great crisp to it. The crust was a bit much and took over a lot of the pizza itself, but overall the flavor was good on and I ate the entire thing no problem. I wish it had a bit more hot honey on it too since it lacked on that heat for me. For dessert I ordered the walnut brownie with ice cream. It was great! The brownie was nice and warm and a bit gooey which is how I prefer it. The only part that was a bit odd were the "sticks" they added. I posted a previous review of Figlio Upper Arlington and this is my review of the Grandview location. I was a long time patron of Figlio UA from its opening until its unfortunate closure when the property being sold to a developer. While the UA location was open my trips to Grandview were infrequent but enjoyable so, while a much longer drive, we've made Grandview a regular stop with the UA closure. Fortunately Michael, the UA manager, also moved to Grandview and now operates the location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service and food remain excellent and the Grandview interior has a homier vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On our most event visit my girlfriend ordered her usual mushroom truffle pizza and I had the lemon chicken in Parmesan cream. Both were once again excellent. The latter has become a new favorite as the pasta and sauce are consistently good. I've had probably every pasta dish and many of the pizzas on the menu and always pleased. Particular favorites include spicy blackened chicken, chicken diablo and chicken w/pepper cream sauce. The per glass wines are well chosen and reasonably priced as are wines by the bottle. I'd be remiss if I overlooked the service. Management is diligent in selecting personable servers who are well trained in providing an excellent experience. That applies to the bar servers as well. Figlio deserves a look if you've not been there. read more

I had heard great things about this place! Placed an order for carry out on a Monday night and really enjoyed our experience. My husband said the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered a pizza (truffled mushroom), two pastas, and a Caesar salad. They also threw in bread which was delicious and soaked up all the oily goodness in the pastas. Mushroom pizza - this had delicious flavor but was a little crispy for my liking. I personally like a thicker crust vs thin but I can hardly ever complain about a mushroom + truffle pizza. Baked eggplant with chicken - okay this was an incredible dish. The chicken was so soft that we thought it was fish at first. The last thing you want in your pasta is some dry chicken and this was the complete opposite. So delicious and juicy. The eggplant was delicious... wish there were more pieces in there! Tuscan shrimp and scallop - this was angel hair pasta and my favorite out of the dishes but I'm partial to seafood. Scallops were seared perfectly. This was on the oily side but so tasty with the bread. Caesar - good but not too remarkable! I did enjoy the dressing. Definitely excited to come back and eat in person sometime! Came here with my friend on Thursday for a quick dinner after walking past it. The restaurant was clean and service was great. The menu had a decent amount of options. I ordered the Tuscan red blend wine and the chipotle chicken pasta for dinner. The wine was great but the pasta was just okay. Figlio is a perfect example of a Ma & Pa joint that has become widely known throughout Columbus over the years. Their speciality is Italian food and they're quite proficient in it! If you want pasta, this is 100% the place the go. We got their Diablo Chicken Pasta, Peter And Laurie's Favorite Pizza without the Roma tomatoes, and the French Quarter Ice Cream Torte. Like I said, the pasta was outstanding. Obviously, it's on the spicier side so be warned! The pasta tastes to fresh, the chicken is very well cooked and seasoned, and the sauce and spice they use are perfectly proportioned. Their pizzas seem to all be single serving pizzas. They're not bad. Honestly, it wasn't what I had in mind. The caramelized onions through me off at first, but I learned to enjoy it. Again, the chicken on the pizza was great. It's woodfire-style so it was a bit on the crispier side. It wasn't bad. Just not what I was expecting or craving. It's not the place I'd go for pizza, but definitely for pastas. Alas, the dessert. It was phenomenal. It was a square shaped item with a nice, dense Oreo crust with chocolate ice cream and a cream based topping with chocolate drizzle. I had hints of hazelnut. It's pretty much coffee ice cream with Oreos. Phenomenal. I came to Figlio for restaurant week back in the summer, but just got around to writing this review. Overall I thought it was not terrible, but not great either. My friend and I came for the three-course menu and were seated promptly upon arrival. I got the caesar salad, the linguine with prosciutto in it (don't remember what it's called), and the tiramisu. The caesar salad was really ordinary and not memorable. What disappointed me was the entree, the linguine. It was very greasy, almost as if every bite was just coated in a layer of oil. The prosciutto was salty enough on its own, but the pasta was salty as well, making the whole dish quite salty. The redeeming factor was the tiramisu, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant itself had a great vibe to it, with lots of people chatting and enjoying themselves. Parking, however, was an issue. There's only street parking around this area for Figlio, and on a busy evening, those spots are extremely hard to find. Service was fine, though I recall wanting more water at a point in time and had to wave down our server for it. For the price, the food was just alright. This is a favorite local restaurant, moderately priced for my wallet and a welcoming comfortable feel. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is a distinctive decoration - on the wall opposite the door there is always a group of something hanging from nails and wires. Sometimes it is flowers, other times it is other things. Very unique, distinctive, and it defines the space. The signature dishes on the menu bar are brick oven pizzas, and pasta dishes. Thank contemporary American Italianesque cooking. My absolute favorite amongst the pasta is the Chicken Diablo. Not too spicy, so it doesn't burn your face and mouth off, but the correct amount so you can adequately taste the pepper and feel it's warmth in the pasta sauce. I'm also a fan of the Five Cheese & Basil Pizza. The staff are friendly and communicative. And it appears that the restauranteurs have a bit of an archetype (and I mean this in a very good way) for the folks who are selected to work there. We've had a couple of meals at Figlio over the past month, and one was excellent, and one was just "fine." A few weeks ago we walked in without a reservation and got pizzas, and both were truly excellent -- mine had truffled mushrooms, and was quite memorable. Likewise, the table bread with olive oil (provided gratis) was perhaps the most delicious table bread either of us had ever had... On our most recent visit yesterday, we also went in early on a Friday evening without a reservation, and were seated quickly without issue. We decided to try something other than pizza, so my girlfriend ordered the drunken shrimp, and I ordered the shrimp scampi. The food came out very quickly -- perhaps five minutes after we ordered it -- which was a surprise. Unfortunately, neither of us loved our entrees. My girlfriend's drunken shrimp was quite spicy, which was not mentioned on the entree description (i.e. is vodka sauce ever spicy?), while my scampi was quite bland and watery, and the shrimp was quite rubbery. I understand that they must use frozen shrimp, which is fine, but these shrimp certainly weren't appetizing, and the scampi itself lacked flavor. Additionally, it was peppered with cherry tomatoes -- something I don't like -- which were certainly not in the entree description. All told, one great experience and one so-so experience warrants a third visit at some point. Service, decor, atmosphere, and price are all great, so we'll know to simply avoid their pasta and stick to their delicious pizzas. read more
