    PAPPARDELLE CON CINGHIALE
    Heithem E.

Nice small Italian restaurant. Quiet on a Monday night but not empty. Arancini were large and delicate and delicious. I had the cannelloni special (filled with chicken and kale with pesto, white , and red sauces). Delicious. My friend had the pappardelle con cinghiale (wild boar rags) - outstanding. Super savory and delicious. Dessert was their nociola (hazelnut cake with cream). All delicious and the server made a great wine recommendation. Can't wait to come back in the summer and try the patio.

My young adult grandkids and I opted for Nicola's when we couldn't get a table at a restaurant nearby. When we phoned first, a friendly Gina told us to come on in. It turned out to be fortuitous choice. We found a lovely ambience, an intriguing craft cocktail menu, and an imaginative dinner menu. We shared an order of carpaccio to start with. Our entrees of fettuccine with Bolognese sauce, veal and scallops with fettuccine, and beef short ribs with gnocchi were all excellent. Our server John was gracious, informative and attentive. We called it "a find," and look forward to returning.

Our most recent visit here was on a Friday evening, and it seemed like they were very busy. Our reservation was for 7:15P and we didn't get seated for a while. What was worse was that it was almost 8:15P by the time we got drinks, water and bread. Same thing with the entrees, they did take a while to come and our friends got their entrees well before we did (so things were not synchronized well). Now regarding the food. The bread with the olive oil was solid. Nice and fresh. I thought the flat bread was excellent. Lovely flavors but a lot heavier than I expected. The pappardelle boar Raghu was the opposite -- lighter than I would have expected, and the flavors were not as deep as I would have liked. But the pappardelle was cooked perfectly. The ambiance is lovely. Large open main room and smaller cozier adjacent rooms.

The restaurant is cozy, dark walls and tables well spaced. They have an outside patio as well, surrounded by plants. The service was attentive and prompt. I enjoyed the calamari and flatbread. Both were delicious. They have a great wine list, including many varietals by the glass. I had the risotto with salmon and zucchini. It was cooked beautifully. The salmon melted in my mouth. I would have liked a bit more parm flavor. I would recommend this place and we will go back.

This place is great! Great food, great service, great drinks! Came in on a Thursday for dinner. Daughter had the Ravioli and I had the lasagna. Ravioli was unlike anything ever seen... one HUGE 12" Ravioli stuffed with ricotta, a poached egg, and a buttery lemon sauce. It was crazy good. Lasagna was 6 layers, a bit light on the sauce, but was brought a side when I asked. Really good! Sar outside. Waitress was very quick, attentive and knowledgeable. Specials sounded devine, but I was in the mood for pasta. Will return again and again to try more.

My wife and I came for our Valentine's Day Dinner. Nicola was incredible! We had a reservation set for 7. They accommodated us immediately and it appeared to be a full house. The hostess was very kind. Our server knew the menu inside and out. The wine menu had my wife overwhelmed - in a good way! So many choices. I took a look at the menu and thought you couldn't go wrong with anything. We couldn't agree on an appetizer so we got two- the arrancini and the Caesar. The only downside to splitting the Caesar is that after looking at the receipt, there was a $2 charge to split it. I would rather them build that into the price at that rate. The meals were out of this world. I will be thinking about that Rissoto for days to come. Cute atmosphere. There are certainly a lot of regulars that go there. We plan to come back soon! 10/10

Wow! Came here for the first time with friends and this place was gorgeous. The Italian music, the beautiful table setting and the atmosphere were perfect. Our waitress was super attentive and very kind. They had calamari which is my favorite so I was very happy! Plus a wonderful wine selection. Now I will say it was a bit pricey, so probably won't go often but it's great for a special night out.

For the price point, I wanted to like the food more than I did. The bolognese was lacking flavor and had a strange almost farm like taste, and did not have much sauce. The acracini balls were also a bit flavorless. It was nice to sit out on the patio but it is by a very busy road so a lot of cars and sirens were going off. The server was very nice and knowledgeable. However there's so many places to eat in Columbus, I would ask to go somewhere else if this was suggested to me.

We find restaurants on Open Table and try something new to us every Saturday evening with reservations then share on OT and Yelp. Last night was Nicola. I've been meaning to get us here for several weeks. We'll start with the pros: - Easy check in at the hostess stand and a very kind staff overall from the first point of contact all the way through settling up the bill where we sat at the bar - Easy to find location surprisingly in a strip mall on the NW side of the city and it really is a super cute establishment. - The bar was spectacular. Eye catching and stunning. Love the lighting the ambiance and again, the bartender was great. - You could tell we were knew to the establishment and the GM (?) made her way from greeting the repeat locals to acknowledging us recognizing we were first timers. Very much appreciated the acknowledgement. - My dish presentation was pretty: fettuccine/mushrooms and truffle. I enjoyed the dish and it was just the right portion size. - Dessert to go were both good at home. Chocolate cake and cannoli. Cons: - The wine menu doesn't really have a section for wines by the glass so you do have to look carefully. Not horrible just a call out. The slight disappointment was the pour size. Minimal at best. - My husbands meal he shared wasn't good the risotto. The presentation didn't look great almost like soup and yes, we've had risotto before and are familiar with how this has been shared in the past. We did catch a glimpse of the lasagna and he admitted after the meal perhaps he should have chosen that dinner instead. First time you learn as you go - When we were picking out our entrees, I did notice on the menu at the bottom, a basket of bread is $6. Wow. I'm no cheapskate, though when I saw this I was a bit stunned. Thankfully we weren't offered and if so, thankfully we didn't surprisingly accept. My meal was fairly priced. My husband's for risotto was $34? Again, just surprising. May give it another shot. Now we know. Staff was terrific.

The space is very bright and airy: loved the floral and plant vibes. Our server was kind but maybe a bit apprehensive because we brought our two daughters. Sometimes I feel bad bringing kids but honestly we deserve to have good food even if there are little mouths involved. We had the focaccia starter and it was as pillowy and sumptuous as it looked. Next was broccolini which our 8 month old devoured. I tried the funghi pasta and my husband had the sausage ragu. Both had generous portions. The kitchen made butter noodles for our daughter and she LOVED them. I was pleased they didn't try to doll them up because she really did just want noodles and butter. Finally, the octopus was sooo tasty. The sauce was super flavorful and I love a good bean addition. Delicious meal all around.

The ambiance was enjoyable, and our waitress provided decent service. For starters, I really enjoyed the gem salad -- it was refreshing -- and I also ordered a couple of glasses of Poggio Costa Prosecco to go with my Funghi pasta. Both were very good. However, we also ordered the lobster spaghetti and were not impressed. It was very bland, and the few pieces of lobster tasted slightly gamey. I would not recommend the lobster pasta, especially considering the price, as it appeared to be the most expensive pasta on the menu. The bill also included a fee labeled as "healthcare," which was not mentioned by our waitress. I had to look it up afterward since it was the first time I had seen a charge like that on a restaurant bill. I wanted to share this so others are aware of what to expect.

After skimming through the reviews I was a bit hesitant on coming here, but honestly I can assure you that the only thing I regret is not trying this place sooner. My boyfriend and I noticed it was in a small plaza and our first thought was that a "hole in the wall" place are usually the best so we were immediately excited. I did make a 6pm reservation after reading the reviews even though it was Wednesday and we were seated on arrival. We noticed the place was starting to get packed so I do agree that making a reservation would be best or try to avoid coming here on the weekends if you have issues with waiting or being crammed in small places. From start to finish, everything was a delight. Here's what we savored: * The homemade bread and butter- simply fantastic. I was going to ask for warm bread after reading a review, but since the waitress brought it out immediately I didn't mind and honestly it didn't need to be warm because it was good as is. The butter IS a true winner. I had to pace myself because I didn't want to fill up too soon! * Apps: WARNING portions are generous enough to be meals! We couldn't believe they were appetizers when it was brought out. Crab Cake- I've eaten a lot of crab cakes and I will say no, this wasn't the best crab cake I've had in my life BUT it was definitely a really good crab cake. Especially one with no breading. It was served with a delicious lemon butter sauce. Whoever wrote that the sauce was "sour" in a review made me giggle while eating this because I mean the sauce has lemon in it... hence the name, but even so the flavors were perfectly balanced and I enjoyed every bite. Fried Eggplant- okay my taste buds went over the moon with this one. An absolute standout. The eggplant was cooked to near perfection, and the creamy tomato sauce was to die for. 10/10! It was such a flavorful dish. Tossed Salad- a fresh, vibrant salad with a vinaigrette dressing so addictive we finished it in minutes. This is a unique salad because of the bow tie pasta in it. The tomatoes and green beans that also come in the salad are a nice touch and very enjoyable. * Entree- my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Marsala and he loved it! The chicken was cooked flawlessly, and the pasta was incredibly soft--possibly one of the best texture I've ever experienced. The marsala sauce was rich and flavorful. Ravioli- I opted for the spinach noodles with ricotta cheese and chose the link sausage. I also asked to have the crumbled sausage added as well (for an extra charge) because I needed to try this sausage that everyone has been talking about..... This Morettis sausage recipe does NOT disappoint. If you don't like "spice" you won't like it because it does have a kick to it, but I enjoy spicy. I will say I'm a fan of the crumbled sausage over the links though. It may be the same thing??? but I could go without the link casing. The ravioli were massive, perfectly stuffed, and absolutely delicious. Dessert: We couldn't resist not ordering and trying the dessert so we took it to go. They were offering a caramel apple cheesecake. After the food coma wore off, we enjoyed it at home, and I fell even more in love with this place. It's unlike anything I've tasted--cheesecake with apples inside is a game-changer! Every sauce and dish was outstanding, bursting with flavor and made with care. Karen took excellent care of us, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a fantastic first experience. We're already planning our return to explore more of the menu. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. This place truly exceeded my expectations!

The employee who helped us was very friendly. We got the chicken parm, Alfredo, pizza, and bread with homemade butter. Everything was delicious. The pasta tasted fresh, the Alfredo noodles were my favorite, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The pizza was AMAZING. Hidden gem. The crust was soft, chewy, and perfectly crisp, and that pizza sauce is perfection. My only complaint is they didn't have utensils available for takeout. We had a 20 minute drive home and were ready to dig in immediately, so that was a little disappointing. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Everything sounded great but my girlfriend picked the saccettini with the amatriciana sauce and I had the veal scalopini with a small side of saccettini. The meal was PERFECT! You could taste richness of the homemade saccettini stuffed with cheese. I was told that the pasta for the lasagna noodles are made on site which is used for the saccettini. The veal scallopini was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. Not too many capers, the right combination of butter, white wine and lemon. My girlfriend's amatriciana sauce (she was kind enough to give me a taste of two) had a little bit of a bite to it but not too much. It was mouth watering.
