Hands down best breakfast I have had in a while. Do yourself a favor and try them out. (So keep in mind it's order at counter and not full table service .)

You bus your own table which is fine if they don't ask for tip, but they do... and they had the bus tubs completely filled to brim and it was not busy. So there was no where to put the dishes. Also not one table was wiped down, so it's a bit awkward. They probably need to have another staff member to assist with this so that one person can remain behind counter. The staff is friendly but what did rub me the wrong way as well is it seems they are asked to skimp on the food at this restaurant. We ordered a side of toast and a side of bacon, both $5 each and they give you one slice of toast and one and a quarter piece of bacon broken into three quarter pieces.. just not worth it. The food tasted good but is overshadowed by the rest of the experience unfortunately :/ wouldn't return as of right now.

Having come here before, and enjoying my hot latte, I came in for another. I asked for a food recommendation and was not led astray with a delicious turkey croissant sandwich. Sandwich was handed over immediately and latte prepared shortly after, I took both outside and enjoyed at a table in the sun to warm up. What comes next is where small establishments such as this shine, I was then greeted by the owner, Werner, himself. He was very friendly and pleasant to converse with, I asked for another food recommendation after hearing that the majority of the eats are made in house. Werner recommended the "Linzer Tart". Never hearing of one before I was intrigued, I was in the opportune position to try one. And it did not disappoint! I will be back 100% - latte=must, Linzer Tart=must, and if I am lucky... to pick up my conversation with Werner.

The art on the walls is super immersive, it's one of those places where you actually want to sit and stay awhile. They've got tons of grab and go options, and even when it's busy (which it usually is), the staff moves like a well oiled machine. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with that fresh coffee aroma... immediate comfort. Every pastry looked insanely good, and tasted even better. The avocado toast with burrata? Executed perfectly. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Definitely would be in my regular rotation if I was a local.

Updating to 5 stars because we can tell the staff is working hard to ensure a good customer experience. This is a solid breakfast option for anyone staying in the village. A wide array of menu options, plenty of seating, cute items to look at while you wait for your order, and I appreciated that the staff walked around from the back and brought every single person their order right to them rather than having the guests pick them up at the counter. A small touch, but meaningful and noticeable. We're excited to give this place another try and recommend it to our friends who are staying here. Original review: Paid for a sausage breakfast burrito and got a breakfast burrito with a lot of tortilla, and legit 0 sausage in it. For over $20 with tip, this is very disappointing to not have 1 single bite of meat in a pricey burrito, as shown in the photos. This was also not a busy morning, they were wrapping up giving a group their order when I arrived, and I was legit the only person in line. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it is a cute shop.

The food was outstanding. The smoked chicken salad was large fresh and delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. The smoked chicken sandwich was quite good, too. It's a little store with all kinds of things that you may have forgotten on your trip. You order at the counter and then they deliver your food. You can sit inside, too. I would imagine they do lots and lots of takeout here.

Inside seating was mainly stools along the front window with excellent views of the trees and water. I really liked that there was a central coat tree where you could hang your heavy coat, especially with the limited seating. Some tables outside as well for sunny days. Interesting menu that blends standard breakfast with some healthier add-ins like quinoa instead of rice. Food tasted fresh, supporting their goal to serve natural, organic, and local ingredients. I opted for the Sunrise Sliders, and had no complaints. I particularly liked that the pretzel buns weren't too dense and didn't overwhelm the other ingredients. I was given the option to add pesto, and it added great texture and flavor. Great showcasing of local products like bagels from Tahoe Bagel Co. and Blind Dog Coffee.

The interior is nice and cozy (and warm), with light reggae music playing in the background. There're only two tables; the rest of the seating is VERY comfortable bar seating. With two walls of windows showing beautiful Lake Tahoe views--plenty of trees and the lake itself--there's plenty of morning light coming through. I was happy that they were serving smooth Laughing Dog coffee--a favorite. And the food came out quick and delicious, with a nice crisp on my burrito wrapper. The menu is limited, but what they do they do creatively and well--the quinoa in my burrito went great with the eggs, beans, and sausage, and they told my wife they were experimenting with their already creative pretzel bun sunrise sliders by adding pesto--a perfect extra optional touch for her.
