Pho Chala was a mixed experience for me. The pho broth was okay, but nothing especially memorable. I was hoping for something richer and more flavorful. The meat in the pho was disappointing -- it was chewy and had a slight unusual taste that threw off the dish. The herbs didn't help much either, as the mint leaves didn't seem very fresh and had some visible browning/rotting at the tips. That said, there were some positives. The egg rolls were tasty and came with a nice dipping sauce, and the pork chop dish was flavorful and enjoyable. Parking was also abundant, which is always helpful, though the spaces were a bit tight. Overall, I'd say Pho Chala has some good dishes, but the pho itself didn't quite hit the mark for me. read more

When I came to Pho Chala, there was some hesitation on my part because, not only was the parking empty, but also the restaurant. With past experience, this has never transpired to what can suggest. That is, a bad choice for food. I walked in to a warm welcome. The plan was to have a relaxed lunch. Ordered the fried egg rolls to start. Came out hot, crisp, crunchy and with taste. After eating the whole order, I seemed to have had my fill. So I asked for the check, complemented the excellent service and bid goodbye. Funny thing is that once got into my car, my appetite fired up and guess what. I drove into the parking lot of a Chinese restaurant across the street. read more

I got their beef pho for lunch, and while I admit pho to-go does not hit the same, the quality and flavor was just mediocre. I often crave pho but was somewhat disappointed in the thin sliced rare beef I chose. read more

Ordered on DoorDash and it was ready in 10 min! I appreciated how quick and easy it was to order and pick up especially since I'm not too far down the street. I walked in to pick up and the tables and floor were pristine which I really appreciated. There was also ample parking. We got the pork banh mi, filet mignon pho, and cream cheese rangoons. The rangoons were easily my favorite - great price for the amount and I love a good crunch. The soup broth and filet mignon tasted a little off to me even when adding in hoisin sauce and other toppings. Open to trying the other menu items though! read more

great quick service! i got the pho beef combo and it had a good amount of meat. the flavor was great and wasn't overly flavorful like other pho broths ive tried at other restaurants. i also tried their vietnamese coffee and wow-- it was good and really got me caffeinated lol. definitely has the traditional strong coffee flavor. the restaurant is clean and spacious, with plenty of parking outside. will come back soon! read more

Solid, fresh tasting Vietnamese food located in a strip mall. Bright, airy inside. Clean tables. Unassuming, friendly, fast service. - Pho beef combo (5/5): Flavorful soup base, meat to noodle ratio was good. - Spring rolls with shrimp (5/5): fresh ingredients in spring roll. Perfectly poached tender shrimp. - Bun Thịt Nướng (with pork) (5/5): tender, perfectly grilled pork (with some fatty pieces on it), (1) crispy egg roll and (3) grilled nicely seasoned shrimp on top of cold noodles, shredded green leaf lettuce, sliced cucumbers and crushed peanuts. Fish sauce on the side. Good flavors. All ingredients tasted fresh. I asked for more slices of jalapeños but I don't think they understood my request as it never came. No big deal. I stopped coming here after receiving horrible services twice. The young lady, I think is the owner's daughter or related to them, is the cashier and waiter. From the moment we entered, she looks annoyed that we dared to interrupt her from playing on her phone, then throws down the menu, and doesn't check up on us for water refills until we asked for the check. At the end the most we got is a forced smile. When their a/c broke last year, the owner asked her if we wanted the fan on, she answered no on our behalf after closing the door. I understand having bad days and second chances but it's been consistently bad with this girl and I feel bad for the owners who are humble and trying to make it work. The food quality is good on most days but still not consistent, and I don't recommend getting their chicken entrees. read more

How is this place a 4.9?? The great filet mignon is chewy; and they gave me only 4 slices of it! The vermicelli disintegrated when you pick it up with chopsticks. The soup flavor is lightweight meaning you can't even smell the fish sauce stink which is STANDARD. Specially if you added their lime and sprouts which is the option, the soup becomes a sad sour failure. Service is... well she is trying. I literally paid and left to go to another PHO place! The place was practically empty which was no biggie.. but was sooo quiet. They needed music or some kind of noise background We ordered: ICED COFFEE- they didn't even fill it up to the top MIXED BEEF PHO- not sure which type of meat it was, but it was the only one that was tender. The tendon was super hard... The meatball was also hard. I do have to say the broth was really good, which is the reason why they got three stars FILET MIGNON PHO- my husband like this. It's just a standard pho. I was not a fan of them, not having small dishes where you could put the hoisin sauce on the Sriracha. But they give us a tiny bowl to put it in so that was fine. I see a lotta mix reviews for this place. But as most ppl mentioned Service at best is a joke . So here's the run down. Walk in at 1:00pm full restaurant empty.... So given if you're only getting one customer , there should be a sense of service or least act like you're trying . Ordered Shrimp/Chicken spring roll. The Server (prolly the owner's daughter) as all three of them were just sitting there. So she brings me shrimp and one pork , "saying we don't have chicken" so you just assume I'd eat the pork... The shaken Beef was probably the only best thing that came out of this experience. She brings my food and the rolls at the same time this time brought me two shrimp spring rolls. Once food served she never comes to even check if the food was good or if I needed anything. I just hear them chit chat in the back . No sense of the ONE customer they have . It must be that hard to have good customer service. Once finished waited another 10 min , Finally flagged down to ask for my bill. While they were playing with their Kangen water machine in the back. I've been waiting for this place to open for the past 4-5 months since I saw the signage. The restaurant is located right across from Chick Fil-A and Lowe's. Parking is usually easy and I have not been here where parking was an issue. Walked in and noticed how big and roomy this place was. I was also a bit disappointed because that Pho odor did not hit me in the face like a lot of the other Pho establishments. But I still decided to give this place a chance. I ordered the egg rolls and the #14 combo pho. Took about 5-10 minutes for my food to come out, which I thought was odd because normally the Pho usually comes out instantly. I'm wondering if it's because they wanted to serve me the egg rolls first since it was an appetizer. The egg rolls came out hot and crispy. It had a distinct peppery taste to it, but it was pretty good. They use legit egg roll wrappers and not spring roll wrappers like other places. The pho came out and they only have 1 size available. I tasted the soup and it tasted a little off to me. Not sure if there was no MSG, but there was something that didn't taste authentic. But it was close enough. The noodles were bouncy and not soggy. I had to add the hoisin and sriracha to kick it up a little bit. One thing they should consider doing is cutting the ribeye little thinner. I felt it was a little thicker than I like it to be. The thickness and hot broth overcooked it and it got a bit tough and chewy. Other than that, I will be coming back to try their other items. As of now, I still like Pho So 1 at the Fallbrook Shopping Center. read more

Glad to have another good Pho place in the San Fernando Valley! Their service is very attentive with a nice ambiance with piano music playing in the background. I've been here a few times and this is the first time that sunset and makes for a decent view while you're eating. The prices are okay. Some things are a little bit more expensive than they should be. Other things are cheaper and a really good value like the shaking beef. The Pho Fillet is a great value for the money too. To get more value you can also ask for one of each type on spring rolls! read more

I should have known to walk right back out at 8:15 on a Saturday night. Not a single customer in the entire restaurant. Unfortunately, when new businesses can't adjust to the volume of business or lack of; food sits and deteriorate. My whole order was a spectacular disappointment. I ordered the chicken wings that were unpleasantly over seasoned with 5 spice powder and then reheated for service. The wings had the chewy gummy but dried out meat texture. The grilled beef and shrimp vermicelli noodle salad came with an overly salted spring roll that was clearly reheated for service. Traditionally, the noodle salad is supposed have mints, bean sprouts and chopped lettuce. This version did not have mints/herbs or even bean sprouts. The presentation was typical but it really needed to have some mint or even bean sprouts. Sad. The shrimp summer rolls were least disappointing but still sad. I might try again in a few months. read more
