Didn't think bad pizza in NJ was possible but.... Such sparse cheese and sausage you could consider it meatless and cheeseless. Plenty of mushrooms though. Crust was chewy and undercooked and lacked flavor. Wasn't hot when I finally received it and had to reheat it. All around disappointed and not worth almost 25.00 for one large. My first and last time ordering here.

I ordered a cheesesteak pizza. What I got was a culinary abortion.

If I had to choose between Ellio's frozen "pizza" and a pie from Joe Spano's, I'd honestly reach for the Ellio's and nom on it while its frozen. First, I despise the whole Yelp community because so many of the people reviewing are white-privileged, stuck up blow hards with the "I'd Like To Speak To Your Manager" haircut. I'm not looking to make anyone go out of business. Point Pleasant has way too many pizza joints. I used to live here a long time ago. There were 3 back then. Pats reigned supreme. Not anymore. I ordered a 12" cheesesteak pizza. STEAK, being the operative word. What I got was, ugh. I got some bottom half of a pie shell with flavorless cheese, then I saw some of that "grated" cheese you buy off the grocery store shelf that somehow doesn't need refrigeration and what I'm guessing was some sort of meat that is supposed to be sausage-maybe? I mean, I didn't order sausage. And if I did, I would have been pissed. Nothing had flavor. The only reason why I didn't bring it back was that I was absolutely famished. I begrudgingly are 3 slices. It was truly horrible. A cheesesteak pizza, universally, from my experience comes with pieces of steak (even Steak-Ums would have even better) and AMERICAN CHEESE. This was garbage. Luckily, for those in Point Pleasant, you have many options. Unfortunately, none of them are very good, imo. My recommendation? Walk across the street to Dominos. OY!

This was my first time trying Joe Spano's. I must say, it was quite tasty. Even with half pepperoni, it didn't have excessive amounts of oil which is great. This was definitely a quality pie.

I rarely give 5 stars but Maria's deserves it!…read more My family and I have been going here for a few years. We moved across town, so unfortunately, they don't deliver to us anymore. This just means we go and pick it up when we are heading in that direction. Their pizza is excellent! We're spoiled with so many great pizzerias in the area but they stand out here. Their buffalo wings are awesome too - decently priced. Shrimp parm - might be my all time favorite ever here. Just take one bite and you will be hooked. Their subs are also very good. Now that I've given a quick overview of the food, the reason why they get the fifth star from me is because of their customer service. The folks are always pleasant, and if on the slim chance there's an issue with your order, they will definitely work to rectify the situation. As I mentioned, we have a lot of great places around, but service is crucial. I also like that they post their lunch specials daily on social media outlets. It's nice to go and try something new. To the staff at Marias, thank you for the great meals we've had over the years. We shall see you soon!

Also, I always order the cheesy garlic bread, it's wonderful and compliments the meal!

Is this the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to?…read more Actually, yes, it is. And I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants. The wait for a table was 45 minutes, but it was worth every minute. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We ended up being seated in a back patio room and though it was very hot outside (one of those 100 degree days last summer), it was actually very nice in there. The show started with someone asking for our drink order, then coming back with said drinks. After that she brought out some starts on the house, courtesy of chef and owner Joe. We were off to a great start! Soon after she returned to get our dinner order. After that, Chef Joe himself showed up to our table to thank us for visiting his restaurant and ask how we liked things so far. We let him know those starters were perfect...eggplant balls and a corn/tomato salad. Eventually our dinner came. Both dishes were waaaaaaaay more food than either of us expected. I had ordered chicken with mozzarella squares on top and drizzled in balsamic, which was a special created by Chef Joe's wife, according to the menu. My partner got eggplant parm...and wow, what a pile of food it was. Two huge eggplant pieces piled high with delicious sauce and served with some delectable pasta. Chef Joe came back to the dining room awhile later to ask people how their entrees were, and we let him know this was a great experience. I want to go back to Point Pleasant just to get here again. This time I will make a reservation.
