This is a newer spot with an upscale grab & go concept, and I'm really impressed with the quality here. My friend and I stopped in and went with the combo sandos so we could try a little of everything - egg salad, shrimp, and pork katsu - plus a sushi bowl with a variety of seafood. They were so kind to give us both a complimentary miso soup as well! The employee working was really sweet and took the time to give us the full rundown since it was our first visit. Such a welcoming experience (: As for the food - the bread on the sandwiches was incredibly soft, and the fish in the sushi bowl was so fresh. You can genuinely taste the quality in every bite. I'll say it is a bit pricey for takeout, but I really do appreciate it for what it is. The ingredients speak for themselves, and it's clear they put care into everything!

Food: 5/5 - The food was amazing! I believe that they were very mindful of the selection that they chose for their omakase so it felt like there was always something new to expect with each piece. Not only that, some things that stood out were the egg sandwich and the shrimp cutlet sandwich as well as I felt that both weren't too much of one thing but rather had a good balance for a sandwich. Lastly, their don was really good especially when combining the ikura with the salmon! For sure, I would get again Service: 5/5 - The people there were really nice! I had a moment where I didn't change the pick up time when I placed my online order but thankfully, they were more than happy to have it ready for that time when I called them! The cashier was really helpful with the explanation for the omakase that we got and gave us additional sides to help enjoy the meal! Overall impression: I enjoyed the novelty of a to-go omakase set especially as my girlfriend and I were able to take it to the beach! I think it is worth the price and would come back again to try

Very fresh tasting sandos and raw fish. It's a take out spot with ample seating outside and parking is very easy (for those of us who care about parking). My one complaint is that they are open for a short period of time, so it's not like you can pick up dinner here or whatever.

Came here as it's so close to all our errands and just seemed to be overlooked. The shop itself is small but it's incredibly convenient and the staff are very friendly. The concept is super simple and the selections are pretty well spelled out. For the omakase , the boxes come with small cheat sheets that tell you how they're dressed, and let me tell you, while the combinations aren't necessarily unique, the flavor balances are all there. Our meals came with miso and housemade soy sauce (at least I think that's what she said). We were stuffed after just a box each, but we're excited to try the sandos and the last box together! Looking forward to coming back when some new omakase are likely! Would've been 4* for the omakase alone, but the convenience and the added service and option of sandos nudged it up enough in my book.

I've been meaning to visit Momo, and finally was able to make it there on a weekday right before they opened. I highly recommend that you go as early as you can because once an item is out, then it's out for the day. The A5 wagyu, toro, uni, caviar special box ($69) contained A5 wagyu from Japan, Santa Barbara uni, bluefin toro from Spain, caviar ossetra, gold flakes, and chopped chives. Everything was very fresh and high quality. They have a certification to prove that the A5 Wagyu is from Japan. We also got the mix sando (tonkatsu, egg, and shrimp). The egg was my favorite, followed by the tempura shrimp, and then the tonkatsu. We also got one box that just had egg salad sando (which came with three equal parts). We were told that the egg salad is made with Jidori eggs, which tend to be deep orange with a stronger egg flavor. The fruit sandwich was also tasty with the mascarpone. Christine was a lot of fun to talk with, and she chatted with us about the high quality ingredients that the food is made with. You can tell that she cares a lot about all of the customers, and the food that is served. She carefully packaged up the food, and was so cheerful the whole time. We will definitely be back!

I had sky high expectations and had been looking forward to trying Momo Sando and Omakase for quite some time. FIVE stars. Incredible experience. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming, and you can immediately tell how much care goes into everything here. The selection of fresh sandos and omakase boxes is outstanding, and everything felt incredibly authentic. I felt transported back to Japan. It was an almost emotional and visceral experience. For food we ordered: - Fruit sandos (strawberry cream, set of 3) - absolutely perfect. Pillowy soft milk bread with fresh, sweet strawberries and light cream. Simple but executed flawlessly. - Egg sandos - incredible. Rich, yellow yolk eggs with a perfect creamy balance. One of the best I've had. - Uni / chu toro / A5 wagyu box ($70) - top tier. Owner showed us the certificate for the wagyu, which added to the trust and experience. The uni was Santa Barbara (sometimes they even get Hokkaido uni). Everything in the box was melt in your mouth blow you away. What stood out most is the insane quality-to-value ratio for what you're getting. This is the kind of place where you can tell every ingredient is carefully sourced. This is now my go-to spot. I'll definitely be back regularly to try more of the sandos and omakase boxes. Next up for me is to try their more value oriented salmon nigiri boxes. Birthdays, anniversaries, just because lunches I'll be here for all of those!

My daughter and I stopped by to pick up some lunch for my dad and us. We selected the following: Mix Sando $18.00 Sake Don $28.00 x 2 Negi Toro Maki & Kanpachi Toro, Sake Toro Nigiri $35.00 The food is available for pick up only, as the suite is not built to fit any tables or chairs. It is only large enough to fit a refrigerator, shelves, and a counter. All of the omakase sets and sandos are pre-packed. What you see is what you get. There are no special orders and once an item is sold out, it is not replaced. I recommend coming early if you want a larger selection. The quality of the fish is very fresh, although the rice is a bit on the hard side (from being pre-packed and then stored on a refrigerated shelf/bin). While there is no space inside for sitting, there are tables and chairs in the shared courtyard where you could sit to enjoy your food. We took ours home. Our orders came with complimentary miso soup. They were piping hot and nicely flavored, not too salty. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. We will likely pass on the sando next time since the bread was a bit dry.

Food: I tried the popular sandos here and ordered the mixed set with premium egg, tempura, and katsu. They were tasty but not very flavorful and did not feel especially memorable to me. The sandwiches are on the smaller side, although you can tell the ingredients are high quality. For example, the egg sando contains premium egg from japan. It was rich and creamy with a nice hint of miso flavoring. The others felt a bit more simple in flavor, but still enjoyable overall. Service: The service was a highlight of my visit. The woman who took my order was incredibly cheerful and kind, which made the experience feel welcoming and pleasant. Ambiance: The shop has a quick grab and go concept, so the space inside is small. Seating is only available outside in a shared public area. It is a simple setup, but it works for a casual stop. I would like to come back to try the sashimi and other menu items. Everything seems to focus on high quality Japanese ingredients, which is reflected in the higher prices.

First time here and it's a very small shop. 2 fridges to store fish and sandwiches. Plenty of outdoor seating available, none inside. I got omakase variety box ($49) and tuna with crispy rice ($26). The fish was extremely fresh and great quality. I enjoyed the variety of flavors and fish. I love how they tell you what youre eating and where its from. The omakase box was fun and good value. The crispy rice with tuna was really good as well but i wouldnt get again. $86 total for everything including drink. Prices are high but you are getting quality fish. Service was nice the gal in front made sure to explain the process and describe what you are ordering.

The place is small, but they have a lot of delicious goodies. I wanted to try the egg sandwich, but they also have fresh sushi being made by the sushi master. The eggs is from Japan and it is pretty good. Service is very very good. The lady in the counter is very sweet and nice. So it is to go order only but you can sit outside and eat your goodies. The place is in a plaza with a bunch of different restaurant. I went during lunch time, I know my mistake, and there is no parking. We parked across the way. But there's plenty of parking.

The best sushi in Mira Mesa for omakase type. Around $80 for the two boxes, and all of the fish melted in our mouths! The favorites were probably the bluefin ootoro tuna and the king salmon with caviar. Come with high expectations because they will reach them! They don't have indoor seating, so make sure you bring a bottle of water to eat outside on one of the tables. Genuinely the sweetest owners I have met in the San Diego area who know so much about their food.

Saw a TikTok of momo and we were intrigued enough to go! You really are paying for the quality of the ingredients. The nigiri was some of the freshest tasting fish I have had, and the presentation was excellent in the to go box (plus, it comes with miso soup). The sando was just okay, but I think the bread tasted a little stale because they are refrigerated. Would love if they made the sandos to order so the bread could be fluffier. Overall will definitely come back again for the nigiri! On the pricier side, but again you are paying for very high quality fish.

Has anyone tried the Sandos? If so, are they good, and how much is each?

I tried the egg salad and the strawberries and cream. Each was $13. They were good, but since they are made ahead of time the bread doesn't stay super soft. Still very good though.

There was so much flavor between the salmon, orange slices, and garlic aioli. Everything blended together like a unique piece of art. - Rainbow Roll - solid and what you'd expect. Not my favorite item of the day. - Sea dragon roll - delicious: the attention to detail with the avocado slices to the perfect grilled eel this one blended together really nicely. - Poke Bowl - I ordered 3 scoops of Salmon (extra $5 for the third scoop) - this was really delicious. The salmon marinade blended together nicely with the flavored rice. Una Don - the unagi pieces had the perfect smoky and sweet flavor blend. One of the best unagi pieces I've ever had. Overall five stars for the quality of food, creativity especially with the Orange Ginza Line, and service. I will caveat that the portion sizes are quite small for the price point. I was out the door $118 for this meal for two. I'd recommend ordering like you would at an elevated dining restaurant. Try a bowl and a couple of rolls per person and splurge a little. The interior of the shop is clean and minimal and on the smaller side. Be warned there was no AC on a warm summer day when I came. Thanks to a Yelp recommendation, and always on the hunt for quality sushi in San Diego, I had to get my husband and I a reservation. Today, a weekday, we snagged a reservation for noon. I highly recommend a reservation because even within a few minutes of sitting down there were other diners showing up and service picked up quickly. However, I'm sure you could always grab a seat at their sushi bar. One aspect of dining today that we both took notice of was their attention to detail - especially in service. We greatly appreciated that our table had a sign with our name and reservation at the table - just giving that they were prepared to receive us and made it a little extra special. Another note is their attention to swapping out our sake glasses as we changed types of sake during our meal. Oftentimes you're served a new drink and expected to use the same glass. For us, we appreciated a new glass. Regarding our dining experience - no notes. Chef 100% knows what they're doing and I feel I would be ridiculous to even begin to critique their approach and service. I love that omakase have become more approachable for diners and it is something I enjoy trying whenever visiting a new sushi restaurant. I feel it can be a great opportunity to try a little bit of everything Chef has to offer. For today, I chose their midi omakase option and my husband tried their chef's choice of hand-roll set. Trying to keep this review to an appropriate length, well, there just isn't enough I could write that could put into words the enjoyment we had. So, if you're still with me, I highly recommend Moment Sushi. We will definitely be dining again!

We walked into a clean, functional space with a straightforward ramen shop feel that keeps the attention on the food rather than the décor. The atmosphere is unpretentious and efficient, the kind of place where you come for the bowl in front of you rather than the surroundings, and the steady flow of customers speaks to the quality coming out of the kitchen. The ramen is the main highlight, especially the noodles and broth combination. The noodles have a great texture with a firm bite that holds up well in the soup, which makes a noticeable difference in the overall bowl. The tonkotsu ramen delivers a rich and savory broth, creamy without being heavy, paired with toppings like chashu and soft-boiled egg that add layers of flavor and texture. The spicy miso ramen adds more depth and heat without losing the comforting qualities of a classic ramen bowl, and the heat level is balanced well enough that it does not overpower the other components. The tantanmen and black sesame ramen are also good options if you want something a little different from the standard ramen lineup, each offering a distinct flavor profile that still feels rooted in the traditional style. The toppings help round out the experience, with the chashu being one of the stronger parts of the meal. The pork is tender and flavorful, with a nice sear that adds a subtle smokiness, and it pulls apart easily without being mushy. The soft-boiled egg is cooked to that perfect jammy consistency, and the seasoned egg adds a richness that ties the bowl together. The karaage is another popular addition, with crispy pieces that work well as a side alongside the ramen, offering a contrast in texture and a break from the broth-heavy main. There are also options for different preferences, including vegetarian choices and customizable add-ons, which gives the menu a bit more flexibility than some ramen spots. One thing to plan for is the wait. The restaurant uses a waitlist system, and it can get busy during peak dinner hours, so joining the list ahead of time is the best way to avoid standing around. Once seated, the service is generally efficient and the food comes out quickly, which helps keep the experience moving without feeling rushed. The staff handle the flow well, and the turnover moves at a pace that matches the casual, no-fuss style of the restaurant. Menya Ultra is one of those ramen spots where the quality of the noodles and broth makes it worth the visit. The combination of authentic flavors, well-executed bowls, and a focused menu makes it a strong choice for anyone looking for a satisfying ramen meal in San Diego. It delivers the kind of bowl that feels both comforting and intentional, the sort of meal that stays with you after the last spoonful.
