Til this point I never been to the restaurant, only had someone pick up their pizza which is good. Service was very good but do not go in here expecting better food then Olive Garden. Overall summary: Ambiance is great, food is ok, management and service amateur. Lots of room for improvement. Here are 3 glaring flaws in our experience: 1.No reservations. We were excited to go to this new place and had a party of 11. We called to make reservations and were told they did not take reservations. But we were assured that there wont be a long wait to seat. When we got there, we were told 45 minutes. when we complained to the manager about the assurance on the phone he said it will take maybe 15-20 minutes. we were seated an hour later at a crammed bar height table. Finally we were moved to an adjacent wine room with nice seating. Victory!!!! The manager did not even come by to apologize or comp us an appetizer or anything. 2. Long wait for service: During the long wait for the table we tried the bar which only had 1 cash register for the whole large bar and there was long delay for the bartender's attention. Once seated; although the server was very nice it was just one person for a large party. Then we were given a small basket of bread with 6 pieces in it. We had to ask for 2 more baskets of bread which by the way was mediocre at best. The dipping oil was very good. 3. We ordered wedding soup which was ok. Very watered down, macaroni instead of Orzo. The main course was good all around but many of the dishes were chipped. we wondered if the owners cut corners and bought used dishes :) Overall, we all agreed to not return. Poor service. Pathetic management. Horrid hygiene. Had earlier rated this place a good 4 stars. But after the most recent experience, definitely not going back again. Recommend folks to try any other joint down the street. My kid found a hair in her slice of pizza. When I brought this to the waiter's attention, I was asked to wait for a manager. The manager took nearly 10 min to get there, while we sat there staring at the hair in the pizza!!!! To rub it in, the managers' first statement to me, "my pizza cook back in the kitchen has short hair & is wearing a cap!". Own the problem & fix it. Ordered to-go lasagna, pizza,salad and eggplant. Staff was super friendly. Lady on the phone told me to pull around back for to-go and enter the door. No issues picking up food. Several people passing by to-go counter asked if I had been helped, which should be customary, but isn't at most restaurants. They showed me my food before paying to ensure my order was correct. The tomato sauce is delicious. We enjoyed everything and had plenty of leftovers I was able to enjoy at work the next day. Can't wait to dine in! The atmosphere is very pretty. We went here during homecoming! The staff was so sweet. We were having to chaperone at 9. Antonia was our waitress and she was really sweet and worked to get us out on time. Someone else came and checked on us letting us know they were working hard to get us served. Our food was delicious and we were out quickly and on time for our chaperone shift!! Occasion- family dinner with my Mom while she came to visit. Atmosphere- rate a 4 star--nice Italian feel. Love the decorations especially the wine barrels on the wall and the chandeliers. They even have what seems to be a private wine cellar looking room. Nice set up. Food- overall rate a 3 star- I had the eggplant Parmesan which was really good. Portion sizes are decent. Dessert was blah- they didn't have any of the desserts that I wanted ie first choice was creme brûlée and second was pistachio sorbet... Ended up settling since they ran out of first 2 choices- ordering key lime pie.... BIG MISTAKE! It was disgusting- tooooo tart, and room temp like it was sitting out for a long gone time! It should have been chilled/ cold--- gag! Definitely disagreed with my stomach the next day if you know what I'm saying! My kids ordered the chicken Alfredo and they loved it. The bread served with meal is really good and seasoned well! As for others at my table they just rated it a 3 they weren't fully impressed to for sure return... Service- 1 to 1.5 star! Waitress seemed to be overwhelmed, we didn't even get greeted or drink orders til 20 min after being seated. (Strike 1) They brought bread out 10 min after being seated but didn't bring enough plates for the whole party... When waitress did come around and ask me what I want to drink I asked for a cocktail menu and NEVER brought it back to me so I just ended up sticking to water the rest of the night (strike 2). Then we finally got orders in and it took well over 1 hr for us to get our orders to the table! In fact the manager and other staff brought our food to the table not the waitress! She maybe came and checked on us 1 time and then brought check which took foreverrrrrr for her to process! Waited at least 15-20 minutes for our cards to be returned! We even did the math for her on how much to charge on which card and wrote it down... How easy could we make it! I swear we ended up twiddling our thumbs watching as all the other guests around us cleared the restaurant. (Strike3) Also I recognized manager from MIA Bella's- my EX fave brunch place--- what are the odds of that... (Go back and read my review from Mia Bella's if you want some more reading lol--- long story short... It was bad and I never returned). We decided to give Marvino's a try for dinner tonight. Overall we had a good experience. The restaurant is very open and inviting, the menu options were plenty. I ended up modifying a dish and the server was receptive to my request and was able to have it made. My friend went with the lentil soup, which was piping hot and she noted it was good. I had the house salad which was fine. Our food came fairly quickly and it was hot from the kitchen ( chicken parmasean and linguini & shrimp). Both managers stopped by our table to check on everything. We both agree we'd return in the future! read more

I hosted a birthday party at Marvinos earlier tonight for one of my friends, and it was an amazing experience. Our waiter, Chris, was superb from beginning to end-our drinks stayed full, our table was kept clean, and we never had to look around wanting for anything. The sea bass I ordered was moist and cooked to perfection. Simply delicious. I've always loved Marvinos, but a couple of my friends had never been before. I went with my family for a Christmas Eve dinner, so maybe my experience was not typical, but I likely will not be back again. We did not have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us very quickly, which was a positive. Our waitress at first was coming very quickly, and we got waters and a bottle of wine to share very quickly. We then ordered some friend mozarella that that came in a reasonable amount of time and it was pretty good! However, when we ordered our entrees next things only went downhill. Firstly, they don't even offer everything on their menu, so my parents had to change their orders. Secondly, the food took over an hour to come out. At first we were willing to forgive this as it was Christmas Eve and they did look understaffed. However, the table next to us with 8 people (we only had 3 in our party) came in well after us and still go their food before us, so we decided it had to be more than that. And finally, when our food came out, my fettucine alfredo was reasonable for the price, but my mother ordered risotto and got something that didn't even resemble an attempt at risotto (although she was happy with the large amount of shrimp they gave her). After dinner, we had to wait about 15 minutes for the waitress to return our credit card. So in summary, the food was not very good, and the service was incredibly slow all night. I have been a HUGE fan of Marvino's for sometime, but we have not been there for a couple of months and it is not the same. The Menu has changed and the items they no longer carry were our favorites. The Oil dip for the bread does not taste the same and is very bland. The Lasagna was not as we remember and their sauce is now a thick meat sauce lacking flavor versus the delicious red sauce they used to have. The short rib stuffed Ravioli was totally different than the dish we had previously and not in a good way. I am so disappointed. This used to be our favorite Italian stop. I am so sad. I have been wanting to eat here since I heard it was opening and now having gone, I most likely won't be back. We start by squeezing my 8 month pregnant sister into a booth. Greeting- nonexistent, server- nonexistent. And when he showed he was so bored all he could afford to say was, "Food? Soup? Salad?" And to let me know that my top three choices listed on the menu were no longer served by the restaurant. He did become quite entertaining when letting us know that our dessert choices, "80% of customers say they don't like that one." He was completely animated when dropping off the check. Terrible. We had a large party of 14 with a reservation made 1 week in advance...the service was horrendous. The waiter was rude. Took 40 minutes to get both tables drink orders then they starting bringing out food we didn't even have our silverware !!! I complained to JR the manager and his attempts to resolve the issue failed further...the waiter messed up all the bills and attempted to charge us for things we didn't order. A 7PM dinner reservation took 3.5 hours to complete with horrible service. The only bright spot on the staff was Eric a waiter who attempted to assist but he too had trouble overcoming the obstacles created by our initial waiter. I've been to Marvino's twice now...And, I can'I wait to go back. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Both times that I went, I sat at the bar because there was a game on. It's located in the center of the restaurant which gives you a great view of the dining area. There are T.V.s positioned around the bar so that you can watch more than one at the same time .However, it isn't at all loud. The bar is very roomy and quite nice! The first time I went, I had the the half order Fidellini with Lump Crab Meat. It was absolutely amazing. The sauce was very light and full of lump crab meat. It was served with a side salad with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette, which I preferred on the side. Even the half order was large enough for me to have half of it for lunch the next day. The 2nd time I went, I had the Four Cheese Ravioli...It too. was delicious! I felt that the prices were reasonable especially compared to a chain Italian restaurant where the food is below par. I'm so glad this place opened! I'm actually craving the Fidellini as I'm writing this review. read more

Atmosphere- pretty restaurant, spread out, doesn't feel overly stuffed with tables. Appetizer- duck spring rolls: overall pretty even but the sauce they were on wasn't very good. It was about 1/5 duck and the rest was cabbage and other vegetables. In expected it to be more duck House salad- was alright, nothing fancy Caesar salad- pretty good, really liked that it had a lot of Parmesan cheese on it. The croutons were a bit soggy Shrimp Alfredo - decent. Can tell the noodles aren't homemade Veal cannelloni - highlight of the meal. Absolutely delicious. I would come back just for this! The stuff before the entree was ok, but this totally redeemed it for me! Creme brûlée - had great flavor but not quite cold enough. Service was a bit slow overall for a Monday night. There weren't that many people in here. We waited for about 15 minutes to receive our check after asking for it, that was a bit frustrating on a work night. This is our first time here and we are very impressed. The staff are all very professional and polite, excellent service, very attentive and the food is delicious. My husband had the Italian Wedding soup and the seafood ravioli. I had the house salad and the Chicken Nona. The only issue was the Chicken Nona came topped heavily with mushrooms and it didn't say that on the menu. I just scraped them off and ate the chicken and risotto. Chocolate cake for dessert. A beautiful building, with a lot of seating options, a bar, and you can watch the pizzas be made. The bathrooms are always clean. The food isn't worth the price. The problem I have run into is that the waiters don't know their menu, and they are unable to tell us what is gluten free and what meals contain gluten. My favorite is when the waiter doesn't know what gluten is, so they make up an answer. On the bright side they have complimentary bread and dipping sauce. read more

Horrible!! Came to celebrate an anniversary and it was the biggest disappointment. First, we had to wait a long time to get menus. Apparently, the waitress can't accurately take orders. She brought the drinks wrong and at the end, failed to bring the two créeme brûlées we ordered. Instead she brought one and a happy anniversary chocolate cake. We don't like chocolate cake. Also, my fettuccini noodles were uncooked. I had ordered a reposado margarita and we received a reposado tequila. They "fixed" the order by taking back the reposado tequila, bringing a house Margarita and telling us it was the reposado Margarita. The reposado tequila is amber color and the color of the Margarita we received, as a replacement, was white. We decided that our experience was going to be terrible and decided to keep quiet and endure our bad restaurant selection choice. We simply paid and drove home. We should've not trusted the bill and checked. That was our mistake. We reviewed the bill, upon our return home, and noticed we were charged for the reposado tequila, a house margarita and a frozen margarita ( the only drink correctly served). It seems the restaurant wanted to deceive us by giving us a cheap margarita for the price of the reposado Margarita. Could it be to recover the cost of their mistake? Regardless, we questioned it at first and they confirmed it was the reposado. I can't ever go to a place where I feel I have been taken advantage of and robbed. These are strong words..but that's how I felt. I have learned my lesson and will take pictures as proof moving forward. My review is intended to share my experience. It is your choice to give Marvino's a try or not. However, I felt taken advantage of and can't trust that Marvino's will be honest and provide me with the quality of food I am paying for. Absolute garbage "Italian" food. This wannabe so called 5 star restaurant had food that tastes worse than Olive garden. A three star restaurant has better food, service, and wait time than this trash restaurant. Honestly don't waste your time unless you want to get wasted and eat Italian food. We ordered the chicken marinara just to find out later that it was exactly like the southwest chicken from McDonald's. And I do mean EXACTLY. The only difference between the two was that the chicken here had a little bit of cheese and watery marinara. The only entree that seemed good enough to eat was the fettuccine Alfredo. But, according to the 3 minutes that it took to bring it to us, either means that it is all just prepackaged food or it was taken off someone else's table and delivered straight to us. The chefs need to be trained properly if not fired for the complete and utter "food". I could do better with my eyes closed. The eggplant Parmesan was way too salty. If you've ever been to Galveston beaches, you would know what the eggplant tastes like. That part is not even an exaggeration, there was more salt than eggplant on it. Went for dinner last night. Worst service ever. Our waiter who took the order seemed like he didn't want to wait on us. Had a drink and when he came back never asked if we wanted another. Took the glasses and walked away. Had to ask another server to check on our salads. This server also delivered our food. Was overcharged for 2 drinks not one. Again had to get help from this other server. Never again saw our waiter and tipped in cash to the 2nd server. We eat here a lot but going to stay away. My husband and I had the worst food experience from Marvino's. The Lasagna looked old and smelled rotten, we both took 1 bite! My husbands penne with beef was like eating oil and penne, had beef but zero flavor! We ended up throwing both dishes in the trash. My husband even called and spoke to a manager (Remi) that thanked him for letting him know and said he would call us back to let us know what he would do for us. We still haven't heard from him and that was December 27, 2018. I must add, the stuffed mushroom appetizer was a joke...2 tiny mushrooms for $10 are you kidding me? Don't waste your time or money going here! We turned around and ordered from Napoli and it was 1000x better and we could actually eat it without getting sick! Ugh!!!!
