AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! Dr. Doshi is THE BEST dentist I have ever had. Even though I am not not a fan of the dentist, I always looked forward to my appointments. She is very calming, kind, and attentive and she does a great job listening and answering your questions to make sure you are at ease. Never was I in pain when in her care at the office and she asks often how you are feeling/if anything hurts/if you need a break. She always asked how I was doing, checked in about my work and personal life, and kept great conversation. She also has a wonderful team working at her office who show so much kindness to all patients and help run the office in an efficient manner. My phone calls and emails were already addressed quickly. Also whenever I came for appointments, I waited at max 5 mins and was in and out within 30 mins. The only reason I had to stop seeing her was because I moved to SoCal. They extended their hours just for me, just tonight, since I shared with them how hard it was for me to get to them due to my job on the upper peninsula, commuting by train and bike, blah blah blah. Long time ago I learned that there are two types of dentists: the ones that have a Ferrari car payment and the ones who do not. Dr. Doshi is definitely the dentist that does not have a "car payment". She is looking for ways to help her clients to take care of their teeth with out breaking the bank. I've been to more than my fair share of dentists over the years, but have never found one I truly felt comfortable with...until now. Dr. Doshi is the best dentist I've ever been to. I love how she is willing to explain every detail to me in plain English. I don't feel like I need a medical degree to understand what she is telling me. She is also VERY patient and explains things while she's working. My front tooth had a pretty good sized chip in it from an old hockey injury. It's been filled many times over the years, but has always come out. I was always able to see that it was a filling when it was in. Dr. Doshi filled it yesterday, and it looks and feels amazing. Before Dr. Doshi, the dentists I had seen in the past never took the time to answer my questions and I never felt that they cared about my well-being/health. Dr. Doshi is so kind and she always took the time to make sure she addressed any pain I had and she was always happy to see me for follow up appointments if needed. We saw the reviews, checked w/ our insurance provider and then went to Mary Dental for our family checkup. We are new to the area and relied on the feedback on Yelp. The doctor is definitely calm and communicate and takes her time with the patients, particularly new patients. However, all three (including a 10-month-old infant) of us have mouth infection of some kind from the next day. We believe that the pieces of equipment used at the dentist for the cleaning, X-rays, polishing, eye protection are not cleaned well in a hygienic manner. So while we like the doctor, the location convenience, we are not sure if they are cutting costs by reusing necessary types of equipment without care of hygiene and health. read more

This place is just around the corner from where I live, so I thought visiting here would be a no brainer. However, my experience was NOT stellar. Even though I made an appointment and had my insurance info ready, they sent me away to come back ANOTHER DAY because they wanted to "pre-approve" standard procedures like x-ray and cleaning. I had already confirmed this dentist was in-network through my insurance, so why they didn't get this information on the phone while making the appointment, prior to me coming in, is a mystery. When I finally was seen on a different day, the receptionist was not at the desk and I wasn't checked in or greeted for about 10 minutes. No apology was given. When Dr. Doshi finally did see me I did not have the experience other reviewers here had. She was cold and unwelcoming, as was her staff. She also started trying to upsell me on procedures right away, even though I had no cavities or gum disease and just needed a cleaning. All the equipment was covered in food plastic wrap, including the x-ray machine and bitewings. It made the place seem cheap and dingy, and was extremely unpleasant to bite down on. The office itself seemed a bit cramped. When I expressed that I just wanted to do the basic cleaning, she became combative and insisted I come back for a deep cleaning. Because she assumed I would come back for this second cleaning, she only did a cursory 3-5 minute job doing the basic cleaning, and removed zero plaque from my teeth. In fact no tools used to remove plaque were ever used-they just brushed my teeth then had me rinse. I'm not sure if it's a race thing as an other reviewer noted, but I'm definitely not Caucasian, and definitely received a terrible visit. Even though the doctor had said someone would call me to schedule the appointment, the only communication I had from them after this was almost a year later in the form of an email saying "As we near the end of your insurance year, we wanted to remind you to take advantage of any unused dental benefits." Oh really? You want me to take the initiative to give you money, but can't even bother to follow up patients? No man, hard pass. I had been looking forward to having a dentist around the corner, but after this experience I'm going elsewhere. read more

What can I say, Dr. Doshi is an excellent dentist! I have been to her three times so far and I find my experience at the dental office to be consistently calm and pleasant--strange for me to use those words to describe my dental experience since for most of my life I've associated all dental experience with the sadistic dentist from Little Shop of Horror--ugh, always dreaded going to the dentist. But what I especially like is Dr. Doshi's work ethic and excellent bedside manner. Once when I went, she had a dental student observing at my appointment and it was then that I really got to see how Dr. Doshi's work ethics. While she was working on my teeth, I got to hear her explain to the student about how she never sends a patient home after a filling without being able to floss between the teeth herself. And she explained that when she fills a deep cavity, which I had, she fills it a little bit at a time, and she explained that while it takes more time, the quality is better. Wow! It's really nice to know that she cares! And Dr. Doshi, not the dental assistant, called that same evening to make sure I was doing okay after my filling! I don't think I've ever received a courtesy call from my doctor, let alone my dentist! Another thing I really like about this office is the treatment plan they emailed me prior to my appointment--let's me know what they will be doing and most importantly, how much I'll have to pay. Once they sent me an email, but forgot to attach the treatment plan and when I arrived Dr. Doshi met me at the front and apologized for the mishap and took off a $100 from my payment--I didn't see that coming; it was a nice surprise! And lastly, her office staff, which I believe are two other--Raj at the front desk---very friendly and Donna the dental assistant--also friendly and does a great job distracting you with conversation, as she's taking the x-rays or completing the teeth cleaning! I Strongly agree with the person who said that the receptionist is very rude and racist. She does not seem to like non-Americans at all!! When I called her for an appointment, all she was interested in was getting my insurance information and did not even ask me the reason I wanted to visit the dentist. On arriving for my appointment, the Doctor wasn't there, and I fell prey to this woman again. She did not care to ask me the trouble I was having in my teeth (for the record - I was experiencing severe pain in my molars) and started preparing the X-Ray machine. She wasn't gentle at all in pushing those X-Ray things in my mouth and never did she gave me a tissue to wipe off my mouth. Dr. Doshi, on the other hand was gently and cheerful. She talked me through all the available services at their center, however she did nothing for the painful molar of mine. All she was interested in was talking about what should I be doing the next time I visited her. I believe, she was too eager to get me in as a permanent/regular patient. The dentist Divya Doshi is a cool person and is very thorough in her work and I do not have any complaints about her in my association of more than 5 years.I have visited many dentists but she is the best among all. The clinic is sometimes open on Saturday and very flexible in scheduling appointments. Divya is very friendly and very assuring person and great with her work. The receptionist Donna on the other hand is rude, intimidating and racist. She does not treat non-Americans very well. She is rude when she calls to fix up the appointments. She has her own set of personal problems with job outsourcing, immigration etc and she has discussed these topics many times when I was in the waiting room. Other times she is rude and pesky. Luckily most of the times the wait time is not more than 5-10 minutes and don't have to sit in the waiting room with Donna looking over me. She also helps the doctor with teeth cleaning and other small tasks. She is intimidating there too..The thought of stopping at Donna's reception desk on my way from the clinic's door to the doctor's chair is itself terrifying. And the same thoughts are echoed by my spouse too!! I feel very relieved to see Raj at the reception and he is a very cool person.
