We wander a good bit when we travel. We actually went to place next door first, but this seemed so much more lively and fun! Open air bar for the most part. Great vibe. My kind of place. The folks operating the place were nice and I enjoyed myself immensely here. They take good care of you. On to the food... That was the best freaking chili dogs I have ever had! Chili was great, smothered in queso, and I mean smothered. Fresh cut fries too!! Swoon. I wish I had this in my belly every single day. I am a five star kind of guy, right?!? Or it could have been I was so stinking stoned that it felt that way! Either way.... Killer chili dog! I don't even remember what town we were in or how we got there. I had to google the place to figure out where we were. C had the pulled brisket French Dip! Borealis bread, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and housemade au jus. Amazing sandwich! The baked beans were very good as well. I am glad I took a bunch of pics and the food stood out so much so that it stayed locked in my memory banks so well. It was six months ago and I still think about this place. I do remember sampling all of the bbq sauces. I liked them all! I wish I had tried their bbq too. Hope I find my way back, and I hope you stumble in here, our out, either way, you will find a good time here. '26 - 69

The brisket and pulled pork was also excellent. Even the sides were admirable, especially the beans. Definitely order the beans! They do tend to run out of food (while we were there, they ran out of ribs and brisket), so you might want to come earlier in lunch. I also liked the eating set up alot. Well spaced and pleasant, you can see the harbor. Overall, if we are in the area again, we'd make it a point to come here. One thing though. The counter girl (who was cheery and nice) held up the tablet and asked which button she should press for you when it came to the tip. Now I'm going up to the window to order food, i'm fetching my own food and busing my own table. What I'm tipping for, I'm not really sure, but the way its done, it makes you feel like a heel if you don't cough up the same tip as a full service restaurant waiter would get. A bit mishegoss, not worth taking off a star though.

The ribs were burnt and inedible, the corn had no flavor and tasted watery (frozen corn) and the Cole slaw tasted like it came from Sysco and the cashew had a very unpleasant finish to them. I drove 20 minutes to return the ribs. The person working the window showed no remorse and said that most people like them cooked that way. I asked if she had any with less crust and was told no. I am amazed that the people working there think this is an acceptable dish to serve. Was given a partial refund, but still feel very unsatisfied by both the horrible food and the callous attitude of the staff. The truck refused to credit my card for the return and insisted on giving me cash, that is not how I wanted to be reimbursed but no cares from the server. I am sure they will not miss my future business, but they should be ashamed to call themselves a BBQ joint serving such food and then trying to defend it. It's unfortunate because I was told by many people on social media to go with the ribs. Believe me, I don't have a problem letting them all know about my bad experience.

The portions are pretty decent for the price and the service has always been excellent! They have plenty of seating and parking. They have a bar upstairs and a studio bar downstairs and I believe they still hold live entertainment from time to time. They have a variety of dishes on the menu and specials as well. So something for everyone. And they have 4 BBQ sauces on the table to choose from and I still love their Blueberry BBQ Sauce!! We just found out they do a hot chicken wing challenge!! You get 6 wings to eat in 3 minutes, no drink, dip or sides - once eaten, you have to wait 5 minutes, again with nothing else to cool your mouth down with...if you make it, you get your picture taken and put on the wall and a T-shirt and the wings are free. If you fail, you have to buy the wings. :) We both ordered off the special and tried the Brisket Sloppy....oooh, sooo good. I got mine with an order of Mac-n-Cheese and yum! We also tried their Burnt Ends, again YUM and I had to dunk mine in the Blueberry BBQ Sauce!! My husband had Chili and it was a large bowl and very good. Yes, the portions are decent size and we couldn't finish, but left small room and had cheesecake! Yum!!! So if you're in Freeport, Maine and want to try some BBQ or do the hot chicken wing challenge stop by!!

The mac & cheese was fair, it just wasn't my normal style, but the BBQ made up for it. Obviously fresh and perfectly smoked. I don't think we could've stopped by the stand on a more beautiful, perfect day! Enjoy sitting outdoors by the food stand under a clean and well covered picnic area. The desserts were also fantastic and I recommend the key lime pie when it's available.
