My front door key broke off in the bolt lock to my house. I called several locksmith's. These guys were the cheapest. I had to wait an hour but no big deal. Its unlikely any locksmith can drive right over. They are on other calls. I could live with an hour. I work near by so rather than wait in the heat, I went to work. They called me at work when the driver was 10 minutes from my house. I met him at the house. He was friendly and managed to remove the broken key in five minutes. Then he created a new key from what was left over of the old key. He had all the equipment on his van. I was happy with their servile - especially since they were the lowest price. One thing Im not happy with is Yelp. Their algorithm is garbage. They list reviews in Maryland from some guy in Texas or some women from Swaziland and we're supposed to believe they are legitimate. Yet my reviews & others from this state constantly get relegated to untrusted. Yelp gets one star for their garbage algorithm. It needs work. read more

Panicked because I had movers coming in about an hour, I called one locksmith and when found out how difficult the lock was, he never called me back. Undaunted I called Maryland locksmith. I cannot thank these guys enough. Very honest and professional. Backstory: I ordered a key for my 05 Honda Accord from Amazon. Most places, like the dealer, refused to cut the key. Understandably so, when I worked for dealers keys were of mixed quality and normally did not didn't work. This would leave an upset customer who is out a key and a business who, with the best intentions, having to eat crow for the key. I called on a saterday late in the evening and gave them the details. They warned me like any proper business should the possible outcome and how they cannot warranty the repair. I still authorized the key cut. The owner really took the time to educate me on the differences in the keys they have and what some people bring in. In my car the key worked perfectly the first time. Please keep in mind, I did a lot of research to get get a good backup key to my car. Also, I have the advantage of having the training and experience of being a tech on these cars. However, if you need a key and aren't as knowledgeable that's fine...just trust the personal behind the counter of this place. I have no reason to believe that the folks at Maryland Locksmith aren't competent. I also presume they provide a good service for expert customers or those with whom they do regular business. However, for someone like me, who doesn't know much about locks, using them was a mistake. My impression was that they sized me up as someone who didn't know much about locks (which is true), then didn't clearly listen to the problem I wanted solved. The result was they charged me a lot of money and didn't solve the problem I asked them to solve. When I pointed that out, they were unsympathetic, blaming me for not knowing the limitations of the lock I purchased. read more

I phoned them to get a key made from the ignition. The gentleman I spoke with was very polite as I explained the situation informing him that it wasn't an emergency. He called his tech and called me back to say they could meet my son at his work tomorrow. They showed up on time, the key was made and the price was great. I was paying with my credit card and they let me give them the number over the phone in the morning and the lady called me later in the day to say the work was done and she would now run my card. Forget about their expertise, and how they are true journeymen in the field of keys, fobs, safes etc.what I was most impressed with was their work ethic and integrity....AND THEIR PRICING!!! I did my due diligence and practically called every locksmith in Maryland. This place answers the phone quickly, knows what you need immediately, and actually instills confidence which is so important in the world! Then they gave me the price, and I almost passed out!! So much better than ANY OTHER LOCKSMITH. Finally, I had the pleasure of waiting while they reprogrammed my Lexus fob and saw how hard they work! Just wow! I would say it was so so so worth the tripl but the moment I got home, my neighbors informed me Howard County waste management FOUND MY LOST KEYS, so I ended up wasting my money getting a replacement for nothing! I had installed a lock on my pickup truck trailer hitch receiver last summer to secure my Harley Davidson hitch cover and needed to remove it to mount a bike rack. I could not find the damn key anywhere so my only recourse was to call a locksmith. I searched Google and found Maryland Locksmith on Aquahart Rd in Glen Burnie and gave them a call. They were very nice and told me I could bring my truck to the shop and they would first check to see if they could help and then give me an estimate to unlock it. The locksmith technician first tried to pick the lock but after several minutes (working under my rear bumper sitting in the hot Sun) he excused himself to go back inside the shop to check on something. He came back out and reminded me that my brand of lock could also be opened with my door/tailgate key which I had forgotten about. We tried the key and it worked. I asked the gentleman how much I owed him and he said "well I really didn't do anything other than to look up your locks features and then used your key to open it." "You owe me nothing." When he said this I was shocked ! It is very rare these days to find an honest business with honest people willing to give you a break when the result obtained might not justify a fee. Maryland Locksmith now has a customer for life and I will be recommending them to anyone who needs a great locksmith. I would give them six stars if I could. read more

What can we say, but we had a problem - not particularly urgent, per say, and had scheduled with the office - spoke to Chris- for an appointment, then of course, "Murphy's Law" always kicks in and had to see if we could pin point an estimate time because of scheduling conflict, wouldn't you know it the actual scheduled service tech "Tim" calls and asked if it would help for him to come a day before - like "after hours" which was so much more convenient for us and he just helped us out and was just so patient, making sure that we were all set of our needs and wrote everything down, just in case- he didn't leave until almost 8:30pm - Tim, you were GREAT!!!! I was having an issue with my Honda key FOB, not starting the car. I called into the shop and talked to a very polite gentleman that explained what we needed to do and to come in and we would get it started. My wife went in a couple of days later, after work, to have them get the process started. When she arrived, she felt like the 2 gentleman behind the counter were only trying to leave for the day and didn't want to help her out. I realize she came in close to store closing time, but saying stuff like "What time are you leaving?" to each other in front of her is not what I call great customer service. They took a look at the key, proclaimed that it should start the car just fine and told her to go try the car again (after doing nothing) and to call the shop back if it didn't work. I decided to go elsewhere and got the job done quickly and easily by another company. read more

Maryland Locksmith is the only place local to me that carries this special double twist security key and Every. Single. TIME. they make the wrong one - even when I tell them it's the special key. SCAMMER!!! This is the classic locksmith scam operation. The website looks legit but there is no business at this location. Try clicking the customer service link and you will see it is all fake. They route you to some call center, then some local unmarked van comes and they try to extort you out of hundreds of dollars. They wanted $400 to open our very cheap house door. No way, we even said go ahead and destroy the knob, we just want to get in fast and cheap and we'll put a new know on later. So they lowered it to $300 claiming its a very high strength secure lock, which its not. Then they demanded their service fee....sorry but no. I went home, hammered the knob off and opened the door in two seconds. A credit card would have worked for some too. I dont know who you should call but dont call this company. I would expect maybe $100 max to come out and then throw the person another $20 for tip, $400 is just taking advantage of someone in trouble, nobody should charge that much for 20 minutes of work where no special tools are needed. read more

I just recently purchased a home and wanted to get my locks changed before moving in. I found Maryland Locksmith while doing an internet search for local locksmiths in Anne Arundel county. I called a few other places to get quotes and I am glad I decided on Maryland Locksmith! The scheduling was easy and my technician Rich was great! He was professional, took the time to review my order, as well as discussed other options. I had two locks changed, i.e., my front door and a back door (in which a double cylinder lock was installed). He finished the job in about 30 minutes. I was able to pay on the spot via credit card (they use Square mobile payment.) I was also provided with a set of keys after completion of the work for both doors (I requested the same key work for both doors). This was my first time requesting this type of service and using this company and I'm so glad I did. Rich's professionalism and great spirit, confirmed I made the right choice. I got the impression that they treated me so poorly because of race. Can't confirm, but they showed up late, were very condescending, and when I asked them to open my car door (locked my keys inside), the guy looked at me like I was stupid. He struggled, damaged the locking mechanism, but finally got the door opened. When I approached the company to pay for the damages they refused but sent a collection company after me to collect their fee. Horrendous service. Use any other company but this one. read more

Terrible - made and kept copy of master key to commercial property, without permission -- took weeks to get it back. After weeks of waiting on a part that never arrived, we told them we were moving on to a different contractor. Owner is not at the business. Manager is not the least bit concerned about the employee copying a customer's key without permission. Not at all professional. read more
