This place is known for their "dessert" coffees. Not being a fan of sweet whipped creamy drinks I'd never tried it before. Driving by the Seasons Market today I figured, why not? Inside, it's Voodoo Donuts hot pink, so I'm already loving it. The bags for packaging up any of the decent-looking pastries had a black and white checkerboard trim that make me think of the See's Chocolate shops in LA. Another favorite brand here folks! Clean counter space, several friendly women behind the counter; service was personalized and fast. I had a combination drink that was the favorite of one of the women behind the counter. It was an iced coffee mix of mocha and something almond. My partner got just a basic iced coffee, cream no sugar. Both drinks came on the dark side, with less cream than expected; his was also a bit light on coffee flavor. The basic iced had the disappointing taste of leftover hot coffee put in the fridge to"ice" - stale. Wish he'd seen the cold brew sign before ordering. My mocha/almond was introduced as "not too sweet," but sweet was the first thing I noticed at sip one. The mocha flavor was pleasant, but I barely tasted any almond. All in all, a bit of a meh. Still, since the chain is local I'll try again. In addition to cold brew they offer a nitro cold brew, advertised on a poster not on the menu board yet.

Some of the best coffee comes from Marylou's! This location is nice, very convenient and clean. I often come here for gas or a Redbox and will get a coffee while I'm there. There is a drive thru as well but I usually go inside as I don't always know what to order. The menu and large and different from most coffee shops. I recommend the Twix iced coffee or french vanilla hot coffee. I also love the strawberry frosty Lou! It's loaded with calories and sugar but yum so worth it!! Think of it as a dessert ;) And by the way, loving all the pink!!

Unlike Massachusetts MaryLou's, their staff is less "Hooters" themed and more girl-next-door themed. I don't know why I care to mention this other than the fact that the trashy commercials tend to offend people into not stepping into this place. With that said, I've always loved the ice coffee at MaryLous. If you get your coffee regular at Dunkin Donuts, you probably won't like the coffee here (my boyfriend doesn't). If you like flavored coffee, you'll have a great selection here. What they do really well are breakfast sandwiches. Like DD they use frozen eggs, but the bagels and cheese are a hundred times better. Hot chocolate is also good here and the drive-thru is never packed like at DD around the corner. The girls here have gone above and beyond to create a unique flavor for me several times. One time they made me a mint hot chocolate and it was delish.

Banana Nut Iced Coffee from Marylou's Coffee, RI

Dear Marylous, Your Banana Nut Iced coffee is divine. I know your ex husband Starbucks is really taking over the town, but don't let that stop you. He smells funny and his coffee just comes on too strong. Plus all of that bougie fireplace and barista nonsense is just hot air compared to your coffee concoctions (re: snicker-doodle, butterscotch, and yes the aforementioned Banana Nut). Please come to NYC???? Loyally, Erika

Large iced coffee just the way i like it.

I walked into a space that is bright and well designed, with large windows bringing in natural light on a sunny day and a layout that works for both sitting with a drink and getting some work done. The matcha program is the reason most people come here. I noticed the menu follows seasons and trends in a way that keeps the offering from feeling static, and the flavor combinations go beyond what most cafes in the area attempt. I tried the strawberry matcha, which is the most liked drink here, and it was decent. The hojicha latte is a strong alternative for anyone who wants something with a roasted, earthier quality rather than the grassy brightness of standard matcha. Sweetener is an add on rather than included by default, which is worth knowing when you place your order, particularly if you are accustomed to cafes that automatically offer a simple syrup option. The menu also extends into wine and cocktails for evening visits, which gives the space a different function than a typical daytime cafe. Consistency on the matcha is mixed, with occasional issues around mixing and clumping that affect both the flavor and the texture. When it is well made, the quality is evident. The cafe gets crowded and loud during peak hours, so visiting on a weekday or arriving early on weekends gives you a better experience of the space. Parking in the area is manageable compared to most of Providence. For a matcha focused cafe with a unique menu and a bright, comfortable space, Ceremony is worth knowing about.

I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to.
