    Kouin amann

This is a great spot to pick up tasty bread. Their pastries taste good as well. They have kouign amann, a flakey, carmelly pastry that's rather uncommon, and it tastes great! It's also a great spot to meet with friends and colleagues or get work done. It's typically quiet on weekday afternoons, in my experience. It's located at the old Runford Baking Powder factory, which adds a nice historic charm to the place. They also have a little patio out back, where there is also more parking! Although the lots tend to be pretty full.

Can I give this place 7 stars? To begin with, the inside is beautiful--it has the loft feel with the exposed ceiling and brick walls so it makes you feel at home. There are window seats with a good view of the neighboring apartments and a nice patio with outdoor seating as well. The pastries were excellent, but my favorite was the cheese twist and almond croissant. They were all unique in flavor and you really can't go wrong with any selection. This was my first time coming but I will definitely be checking out their other locations. The only critique I have is that it is a little pricey--each personal pastry can range anywhere from approximately $2.50-$5.00 Update: I had to go back and try the cheddar cheese scone and I think this was actually my favorite. It's similar to a warm, fluffy, buttery biscuit but it's not dry at all.

Had a medium caramel oat latte in a mug with a (queen anan)* it was so warm and delicious. So comforting. Service was warm, welcoming and fast. Very cozy spot. I can't believe I have never been here. I will be back. Thank you so much. Also got a slice of foccaia to go with my dinner later

Fortunately for me, Seven Stars is a short walk from my house and on my way to work. If I'm feeling fancy on a Friday, I'll pop in for a chai latte or a coffee and a ginger biscuit. Their baked goods are delicious. The aforementioned ginger biscuit is a perennial fave. I also like their granola scone. My husband has tried a lot more variety and always lets me steal a bite, so I can vouch for the lemon cake (decadent but worth it), savory breakfast quiches, and cinnamon rolls. Their coffee is strong and seems to please even the toughest coffee snobs. The chai latte is perfect, and their iced mocha latte is great, as well. Everything I've ever had there has been great. The space is wonderful both inside and out. Sometimes the line can get fairly long (and slow) on weekend mornings, but it's always worth the wait. My only beef with Seven Stars is that they don't have WiFi (at least not the last time I checked). I'd so much rather go there to do work (as opposed to a Starbucks), but maybe they don't want people camping out there all day for work. I don't know, but what I do know is Seven Stars is a neighborhood fave!

Often they would sell by the slice (last year) however now I must buy a loaf. The problem with a whole loaf is I will eat every single bite myself, in an embarrassing amount of time. Sadly I didn't take a photo this time, so I guess I will have to buy another and add the picture later, hahahah, such a shame I'll have to get another. I will revise when I have a babka I have not devoured! The staff is friendly, the line gets through rather quickly and munching while people watching is a great way to spend a little time Saturday mornings in the Summer.

We finished off the entire loaf which I purchased, within one day. I'm kind of happy that these aren't readily available at my grocery store or my waistline could be in trouble. I'm looking forward to trying the chocolate babka in a couple of weeks. While the price of these is steep at $17/loaf you could taste the quality ingredients and loving craftsmanship in each and every bite. My only disappointment was there were very few actual pecans in our loaf and these pieces were specs. Would I buy again, oh heck yes.

I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit tricky due to the busy nearby intersection, but it wasn't too hard to navigate. A small inconvenience considering everything this place has to offer. Bottom line: this bakery is a delightful, nerdy, sugar-filled gem. A perfect place to treat yourself!
