This place needs to close or needs a reset, new owner. Don't take from me read the ridiculous reviews about their poor service. One even says the manager offers poor service. First, these are low quality bagels, not traditional (boiled) and they aren't fresh. My everything bagel had oaks on it? Oats? Bagel was dry. Second, prices are out of sight (thanx Biden) so not worth the trip. Publix bagel are better. Third, 30 mins wait for two toasted bagels. Wife wanted cream cheese on hers. I asked for it on the side so they just did nothing and threw the bagels in a bag, not wrapped no paper, and threw in a cup with cream cheese into the bag. NO KNIFE NOTHING to spread the cream cheese. This place is like Walmart, they don't care at all it seems and are all about profit. I've been to this shop a few times before (usually on Fridays) and had decent experiences, but this Wednesday visit was a huge letdown. To be honest, I've had bagels from Walmart that weren't as dry as the ones we got. The freshness just wasn't there. On top of that, paying $41 for three breakfast sandwiches is crazy, especially given the quality. The atmosphere is also incredibly unwelcoming. There are passive-aggressive notes everywhere telling you what not to do--don't block this, don't stand there, don't lean on the bathroom sink. Speaking of the bathroom, you have to ask the counter to unlock it for you, which just adds to the uncomfortable vibe. Very nice newer looking business. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Neat coffee shop decor. I had the lox and bagel with plain cream cheese on a plain bagel. It was delicious and had a good amount of lox as well as toppings. The bagel was also good. Now I gave them four stars because they only had plain coffee. No lattes or other specialty drinks. They were crossed off the menu. I opted for the sweet tea which was delicious but really would have loved to have a peppermint mocha latte or something like that. Would have made the whole experience a solid five. Parking lot is a bit tight for a full size vehicle but there is another lot behind that is more open. read more

We recently visited Mary's Bagel Cafe for breakfast. The menu had several great options and the bagel choices were plentiful. But get there early. They do run out of bagels! The staff was very friendly and we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Mary herself. We enjoyed a bacon, egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel and a ham, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Both were delish. We will definitely go back. Tip: Main parking lot is small with a steep incline at exit, but no worries. There is an additional lot right behind Mary's for parking also. read more

Who'd have thought you'd find a fresh bagel shop in the middle of Lakeland? First off these are not NY Bagels as only NY really has that distinction. For Lakeland though these are good bagels for the area. The onion and everything bagels are loaded with onions and everything seasoning. The staff is very friendly and the interior is wide open and clean. The sandwich menu is very diverse and pays homage to NY and NJ especially with Taylor Ham or Pork Roll depending on your location in NJ. The bagels are terrific. They are all very good. My favorite is the pumpernickel! The counter people are pleasant and display wonderful personalities. The place is clean and well kept. First time here and this cafe is beautiful. The menu is pretty fast with several bagel sandwich combinations listed and several bagels to choose from. We ordered an everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese (the Bronx Bacon Egg) $7.49 and a plain bagel with egg and cheese (Grand Central) $5.99, an iced coffee $3.99 and an iced latte $3.89. The drinks are really good, the bagels are lovely. The staff is warm and friendly. There is plenty of parking. This seems like a popular cafe and we can see why. I attempted to try this cafe. They have a one-way drive to enter with a huge hill to exit. My van could not navigate the hill and bottomed out, tearing up the I had parked to get out before the parking fiasco. The door said "use other door" on far side which was hard to navigate. The bed said "don't walk on stones". There was not a continuous sidewalk to get to the far door. Too many roadblocks to a positive experience, not user friendly to those with canes and walkers. Most of my friends who've tried them agree with the posters that found the bagels dry, hard and expensive. So I'm no longer trying to access them. My review of this product I'm gonna be a little harsh. The place seems very nice. The employees seem interested in helping I did not try sandwich, bagel or toppings. I've been struggling to find bagels that have a low sugar contact like a plain bagel, sesame seed, Jalapeño or asiago. I came in just to buy a couple bagels to go to try for breakfast, I purchased a sesame and Asiago bagel not waiting to go home because they look so good. I it was almost impossible to bite all the way through. It is overly dense and dry. Just as a footnote they were $2.59 each before taxes I think that's a little high priced for bagels. read more
