I like Mary's and we have gone there for years, but lately there seems to be less attention to detail. The last three times I have ordered take out there are ingredients missing from parts of my order. Twice I paid extra to add cheese to a chopped salad and the salad had no cheese. Today I ordered a panini that is supposed to come with pesto and it came plain. It would just be nice to get what you ordered, especially when I am paying extra for some things. read more

Another great experience at Mary's. We have a party of 7 and everything was wonderful! Food came out quick, correct and at a great temperature. Even placing an order for a second round of appetizers while the food was cooking. They came out before the meal and we couldn't be more thankful for the kitchen and wait staff for making this happen. Our server was beyond helpful and friendly and was always right where we needed him. The service at Mary's really elevates the experience of the delicious Italian food. Their food is oaky, but for a place that calls itself an Italian restaurant, they don't have allll the traditional dishes like puttanesca or Fradiavolo. They cater to people who only know Americanized Italian food. Not the real stuff. And, tonight they screwed up our order. I've been going to Mary's Pizza for many years. There are many pizza places in my area and there are several good ones but this is one of the better restaurants around. Their pies, are exceptional and always fresh and delicious. I Especially enjoy the eggplant pizza with ricotta and mozzarella. I highly recommend it ! I recently tried one of their entrées, , the chicken rollatini. The portion was very large , at least four pieces of chicken enough to share with another person and to even have leftovers . The chicken was nice and tender, in a delicious Demi glaze mushroom sauce served along with a penne. So satisfying! read more

I came for pizza for lunch with my boyfriend. We shared grandma alla vodka and brooklyn sicilian slices as well as an everything and a cheesy knot. The slices were massive! I absolutely loved the grandma alla vodka slice and the cheesy knot was amazing. There was plenty of seating too. We will definitely be back! read more

Great spot. We have had there pizzas a few times and they are always really good. Our family loves the spinach and artichoke and buffalo chicken pie. Our friends decided to order and fold the us their entrees, wraps etc are great. We were so surprised. We had the drunken burrata and a chicken bacon wrap. All really really good. I ordered again today and delivery did take a while but the food arrived hot and they give great portions. When I called to check in on the order the women was very nice and the food was at the door minutes later. read more

Came here on my lunch break with my new coworkers. There are very good lunch specials...and something for everyone. Pizza, pasta, paninis, salad, soup, heroes..so many things to chose from. You can also have a pick 2 combo. I decided on soup and half a panini. For my soup I had lobster bisque and I decided on the chipotle panini. The soup was amazing! Had great flavor and a good amount of lobster for a soup. The chipotle panini was great too. Bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese and grilled chicken with chipotle sauce on the side! I love that they put the sauce on the side so that my panini didn't get soggy. It was a nice thought as I forgot to ask. We didn't get bread until our meal came out which I thought was a little odd as bread always comes out shortly after you sit down at most restaurants. However the bread was good and had a nice garlic undertone. You can bet I dipped that bread in my bisque. Marriage made in heaven. Service was great. Mary's Mary's Mary's this has become one of my favorite family style restaurants to eat at. If it's not a date night dinner. It is a girls night dinner with my daughter. We usually go and indulge on Wednesdays. Wednesday nights are pasta nights. Our favorite pasta dish would have to be the chicken Parmesan. We get ours with noodles in oil and garlic. It also comes with a choice of a salad or soup lately we've been picking the soup... the creamy chicken is our favorite. My daughter gets her Shirley Temple and I get a white wine or iced tea. At the end of dinner you can either have a slice of cheesecake Zeppoli or a cannoli.... All are delicious but lately we have been cheesecake fans after dinner. read more

No excuse . . . Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots Mary's may well have the best garlic knots I've ever had. Large sized with a light, slightly chewy crunch when heated up properly, they also have a buttery flavor that goes perfectly with the garlic flavor. Grandma Alla Vodka Slice Crust is thin with a light texture, and crispy when heated up properly. Unfortunately I can't comment too much on the sauce, as there wasn't enough of it to render a verdict either way. I order from here weekly! The pizza is really good. They never disappoint, I've only had the pepperoni, regular cheese pie and the penne vodka pasta Which are all good. Last evening, Wedensday, January 29, 2020 my husband, my elderly parents, and I had dinner in the Islip location. The food was delicious but some things occurred that annoyed me and should be addressed with the servers and bus boys. The bus boy came to our table (we were in booth) and collected dinner plates. He put his hand out for me to hand him my dinner plate, which was heavy, so I did not pass it. My husband passed it. Then he wanted me to pass my fork, knife, and wine glass forward. I told him, "No, you can do that when we are gone." I do not go out to dinner to help servers collect items off our table, nor should my elderly parents be expected to "forward their plates." He even came back a second time, asking for us to forward the items on the table and my husband reached over me to go grab for my utensils but I stopped him and I looked at the bus boy and said, "Excuse me, we are still at the table, you can do this later." What is going on that we can't even have a nice sit down dinner without having to help clean up? How tacky! Another issue came when we asked for our left overs to be wrapped. The waiter and the bus boy brought over containers and handed us the containers. They didn't even wrap the left overs to go. The white plates are very heavy, and my parents and I had difficulty lifting the plates to empty the food in the container. I was really turned off by all that occurred. I have to tell you. I recommend that Mary's talk to their staff about expecting customers to forward utensils, cups, glasses, napkins and plates. That's inappropriate and a complete turn off. There definitely needs to be some education on proper dining etiquette taught to their staff. read more

Mary's has been steadily declining in my book. I know the pandemic is hard on business but there's consistently too many declines in service here. The prices have gone up, amount of food you get has gone down, and customer service has gone straight out the window. Rude on the phone, rude in person. Taking your order or ringing you up suddenly becomes a huge hassle for these teenagers. I've gotten actual eye rolls from people while picking up orders. We often come at odd times so it is not even like they are overwhelmed during peak weekend dining. Most recently we got a takeout order for 10 people and the person taking the order was clearly annoyed. My gluten free chicken capri, which we emphasized needed to be gluten free for my celiacs, came full of gluten. We had driven the order a half hour before realizing and needed to get another meal for me from another pizzeria. read more

My husband and would enjoy our dinner at Mary's once a week, especially on 'Chicken and pasta night', Monday's or Tuesday's. This, of course was pre-pandemic. Once a week for 2 years, maybe 3. We considered ourselves regulars. We had a favorite booth. A favorite waitress. My meal was always Angel hair pasta and meatballs. Mary's had the absolute perfect Italian meatballs. They were delicious and huge. I would always take home half. The meals came with soup or salad, entree and dessert. My husband would enjoy a different chicken dish each visit. And, on the table would be a delicious basket of breadsticks and marinara sauce. We went to Mary's last week, and I ordered my 'usual' with great anticipation. We did not eat inside as my anxiety is still preventing me from enjoying such things as dining in. There was no soup or salad option nor was there dessert. Understandable. Everything and everyone is hanging by their nails. What I cannot understand is the quality of the food that we ordered. Hardly any sauce, and my greatly anticipated meatballs were horrible.
