I went on a Monday. The place was about 1/3 occupied. I waited to be seated for about 5 mins. Once seated I ordered miso soup, firecracker shrimp, and 3 special rolls. The miso barely had tofu or seaweed. The firecracker shrimp were finger nail sized shrimp balls? and sauce was in a cup to dip. All of the rolls were mediocre and sloppy. I LOVE this place. Like love love. It's such a great value! All-you-can-eat sushi, sashimi, hot and cold appetizers, hot classics, desserts...seriously what more could you want? The sushi rolls are amazing. Hands down amazing. They don't overload the rolls with tons of rice nor do they skimp of fresh fish. Three specialty rolls here is what you would get from other sushi places for the same amount of money. We ordered three appetizers including two different kinds of eggplant (had to compare), and edamame. Then four (maybe five) specialty rolls, 16 pieces of sashimi, and green tea and red bean ice cream. Oh, and some fresh fruit, too. This was in several rounds and they kept bringing it! The quality of the food is spot on and I can see why my sister suggested a reservation. I can see this place getting super packed pretty quickly. I have mixed feelings on this place. The good: All you can eat sushi for not a lot of money. The sushi is GENERALLY of pretty high quality. They also have a pretty extensive menu. And I really like that it is a BYO. The negatives: I hate to say this, but last time I came here basically turned my friend off (whose favorite food was sushi) off from sushi because of the temperature--which was luke warm. I feel bad because I can see how hard the people in the kitchen are working: everyone has unlimited access and they are working a million miles a minute. But warm sushi is pretty gross. Aside from that, I nearly always have bad service. Which I mean, I give them some leeway, because, again, they have a lot on their plates, but I would appreciate them at least acknowledging that we are sitting there. My favorite local all you can eat sushi place, hands down! All you can eat situations generally means lower quality but higher quantity but Masa does not make you feel like you're missing out on the quality. I find myself craving Masa about every two weeks or so and they rarely disappoint me. Lunch pricing is the best value at $18.95 (between 11-4PM) and dinner pricing is $24.95 (4PM-close), which personally feel is not as great of a value as I do not eat the additional offered menu items (a few extra special rolls, kitchen items and fruit) though people that join me do. The only reason I am removing a star is the service. If you don't go at the right times the service is slow to non-existent (weekends between 2-4PM before they switch over to dinner). Servers are slow to take your sheets and the food takes a very long time to be prepared. Dinner time on the weekends is super busy, so I recommend making reservations if you have a larger party or are pressed for time. Came in with a large birthday party (16+ people). The wait staff was much more accommodating than other all you can eat establishments in the area. Very friendly and attentive, they did the best possible job with our large party. You have to love the made to order all you can eat sushi. I recommend the ceviche, Godzilla roll, and spicy seaweed salad. The staff were very sweet. They noticed us putting candles in the sushi for the birthday and brought out a tempura fried ice cream ball with chocolate sauce and a candle for the birthday girl totally unprompted. I went with a group of about 8 people and we all ordered several tolls to share. Although it took a little while to come out, it was worth the wait. The rolls were pretty good and hard to stop eating. A lot of us didn't want to leave anything on the plate. We're all here to get FAT! The pricing is around the same as sushi palace but I think a couple more dollars expensive. Very nice and affordable AYCE sushi place. My brother lives in New York and says the prices at Masa are half the prices of AYCE sushi places in Manhattan, and the quality/taste are pretty much indistinguishable. Masa has a great environment and a pretty comprehensive selection of sushi rolls/appetizers. A great place for group events/birthday parties/large dinner parties. There is ample parking in the strip mall where it's located, and service is quick and no-frills. The sushi was made-to-order, and came out fresh. Ahhh. So "foodie" friends introduced me to the location. Great time all you can eat first round!! We come back and I bring my boyfriend (hesitant to try new sushi but the foodies insist we try new things cause life is short they say...) traveling an hour from Philly! We all (four) order all you can eat. We cannot finish a combined maybe 2 rolls MAX. Boyfriend and myself don't like the rolls at all and the foodies are full. We order a scoop of ice cream and server exclaims we must finish sushi or they will charge $5 per person and no box will be provided either . Masa left something to be desired and I'll probably go to Sushi Palace if I want to get AYCE sushi. Food: Sushi is pretty standard fare for AYCE and was good. However, I always order spicy seaweed salad when I go to to AYCE sushi, and Masa's had way too much sauce and not enough crunch/seaweed. The sauce completely overpowered the taste of the seaweed. However, the udon noodles are pretty good, but the serving size on the larger size. Service: The service was quite disappointing. Definitely don't come here if you have a big group of people, because Masa is too small. The hostess seemed almost angry to see us when my group showed up (we had 11 people) and was reluctant to even seat us, even though we made a reservation beforehand. Went in around 3:30pm on my work break and sat at the sushi bar. Pros: pretty decent pricing for all you can eat. I agree with the way they order on the paper because it does put into perspective wether or not you can finish the food you just ordered. I appreciate that you can continue to order after that. The wait staff was pretty attentive and so nice. Constantly filled my water and removed the empty plate. They asked how I was doing and offered dessert. Cons: food is a hit or miss. The sashimi was cut a bit too thick. The shumai was bland and the sauce it came with wasn't too helpful either. We did not know how much to order and when we had extra that we wanted to take home they wanted to charge us a la carte! I was excited to try this all you can eat sushi place. I was slightly intimidated because I didn't think I could consume that much sushi, but I wanted to at least try it. The atmosphere was alright, but really noisy. The tables were very close together. The music choice was rave music, which didn't go with the ambience. The service was good. They were quick to refill our drinks. The seaweed salad and ceviche were good and so were the pork buns. I ordered three rolls of sushi and they were all good. Ice cream is also included, so I got red bean which was good. It honestly was a good price for everything that we got as a group. Gladly bumping this down a star because I don't think Masa is able to handle the large crowds that it attracts now. My family and I came here twice in two weeks (December 2017) and had to wait upwards of 35-40 minutes for our AYCE orders to come out. Dinner took 2.5 hours both times. Numerous family and friend groups were waiting in the lobby for us to wait for the kitchen. It was a mess and I felt uncomfortable. That being said, we still like the rolls and fresh sashimi. But maybe next time our family wants sushi we'll opt for Sushi Palace instead, which is at least as good as Masa but at 2x the speed. read more

This place is really an unbelievable find: really high quality sushi for a very reasonable cost. I've heard that the way you can tell fish is fresh is when you don't walk in and smell fish. This place does not smell fishy at all, and you can see the sushi chefs preparing the orders as they come in. We opted for the all you can eat, and let me tell you- that's the way to go. We tried the spicy seafood soup, veggie croquettes, and shrimp and sweet potato tempura appetizers. For our sushi, we tried a variety of specialty rolls: the sunshine roll, Mexican roll, Clinton roll, and mango roll. We also did the California roll, peanut roll, mango avocado roll, and a few pieces of sushi and sashimi. We ended with green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream. For all that food, it was still just $40 at the lunch rate. The service is attentive, and they bring you a new ordering menu each time; however, you have to eat whatever you order or there is an up charge. Whether your a sushi lover or just want to try new things, the all-you-can-eat option is the best, and not a bad price at $24.99. However, this is not a buffet style restaurant with self serve bars, everything is plated and brought out to you by a waiter or waitress. It's a quaint spot, with a bar and decent seating. The lights are low at night, and its pretty mellow, very chill. Plenty of free parking being that it's located in a shopping center. The food was awesome and very fresh. I've been coming to Masa for a few years now, and it's always my "go to" sushi establishment. The all you can eat sushi deal cannot be beat. You would spend just as much ordering 2 speciality rolls at any other restaurant, although at Masa there are a variety of other options on the buffet menu. I also love that Masa is BYO, another money saver. I usually come here on a Friday night with coworkers and we get here early to beat the dinner rush. The dinner rush starts between 6-7 pm. The waiting area is small and I have easily seen at least 30 people waiting there patiently for a table. That being said, when you are done eating at your table the servers really push you out. If you want to come to Masa and spend a few hours here as your "night out", you will not be able to. read more

Don't let other high ratings fool you. First of all, You may give it a good rating if you have never tried this type of restaurant before. The tab water smells and the tea is okay, but when the waiters/waitress walk by, they don't bother to pour it for you unless you ask. 3. Finally we ordered dessert, We ordered 2 red bean ice cream and 1 green tea ice cream. Instead of having 3 little bowls. I got one bowl red bead ice cream for my wife, and it was melting. And we got another bigger bowl with 1 red bean and 1 green tea ice cream. Whoever did the scoping was sloppy. I saw the red bean ice cream was all over on one side of ice scream. I asked the waitress why would that happen?! (about the sloppiness and melting). She said the weather is getting hot?! Huh!! I was like.. don't they have refrigerator?! As far as sloppiness goes, she said next time she will bring a bigger bowl. The logic is .. what made them think that we wanted one scope red bean and one scope green tea ice cream on a bowl?! So when we got there and saw that it had closed down, we turned to our left and decided to check out Masa. What a great decision that was! The restaurant is so clean and pretty inside! We ordered lunch specials, and for the low price we got so much food! The sushi was so fresh, and we were so full afterwards. For an all you can eat sushi place, they're fine... until they give you and 7 of your friends food poisoning. I was here on 2/23 with a large group of friends. 8 of the 12 of us got food poisoning. EIGHT. We can't seem to pinpoint one specific dish that the 8 of us all had that the others did not, and of the 8 of us that got it, we all have varying degree of severity. I, as a non-seafood eater, was surprised it hit me as well. Something in their kitchen was spoiled and it managed to cross contaminate. I haven't been able to keep anything down for 3 days and had to seek medical attention for dehydration and antibiotics. Not only did they make off with my meal money, but now have cost me extra. After driving 45 minutes to get there we were told there was an hour wait despite having 5 open tables and no one there waiting. The host said they had a group of 12 coming in that had already been there. So I responded they aren't here now so clearly your reserving tables for them despite saying you don't take reservations. My first time at a sushi buffet. First of all, let me say that I would never go to a sushi buffet and there has been a reason I have avoided them....quality. This time, however, I was referred by a local in my short stay at Princeton. We took the chance and we were pleasantly surprised. I am very serious when it comes to my sashimi and its quality. The reason this place received 5 stars was due to the prices. For $20.00 a person it was all you could eat of decent sashimi and nigiri with your average sushi bar sides.
