I ate here when they first opened and throughout the years, before and after Covid. While the food stays consistently good, the price and portion continue to shrink. I am sure because costs of goods are going up so owner has to adjust but guess what, inflation impacts all of us as well. You can increased prices right out of business because you will not have enough customers to cover your fixed costs but I am sure you know that as well. Their buffet and menu selections are constantly changing and delicious. As someone who tries hard to stay on a Keto diet I find options that make that possible and everyone in my family gets something they love as well. This was our first visit. We sampled most everything on the buffet and everything was good. The rice was a little humdrum. The chickpea dish was surprisingly tender. I've never had mushroom palak before and it was pretty good. The curry chicken was easily the star dish. The tandoori chicken was tender and tasty but, unexpectedly, had quite a few shards of bone. Finding dal was a pleasant surprise. The naan was fresh and soft; would have been even better with a garlic butter wash! The rice pudding was not the aromatic cardamom favorite that I love. This was surprisingly bland considering it was full of candied fruit and almonds. We will definitely he back for the buffet and will try at least the carrot dessert off the menu at some point. read more

I try to eat something different on the menu every time. I got the Chicken Sagg this time which was good, but I realize I like more spice and tomato based dishes. The food was spicy, but I did choose medium. It was spicier than other places I've done the same. I had the chicken tikka masala and so did my colleague. We both thought the chicken was a bad cut as it was strange. Not sure there's any other way to describe it. It was not the normal white meat chunks of chicken I'm used to in this dish. We also got the vegetable samosas which were also spicy. I don't ever recall getting these from other establishments and having them be spicy. It was to the point where I didn't finish mine. Also of note was they do not have table service unless it is self-serve. Not a big deal, but we didn't realize this until we walked in the door. Nice little place, small buffet, compared to your typical 100 items on your average American buffet. The cabbage is so fucking yummy, really tasty with the spiciness. Mild taste of curry and bold smack across my face with the spicy yumminess. Aromatic basmati rice, was a great filler with a slight hint of something, I couldn't tell you what maybe cloves. So good. My husband and I were a little skeptical entering this restaurant due to the exterior decor and location but due to the reviews, we decided to give it a try. The interior was not very impressive and could use some updating but we were there for the food and not necessarily the decor so we stayed. We sat down and our server came right up to us. We asked about vegetarian options on the buffet as we really couldn't identify what veggie dishes were on there. We were surprised to find out that more than half were vegetarian and the buffet was extremely inexpensive. We had 2 dishes of veggie dishes and mine was extremely good. We also ordered a dish of garlic Naan. Delicious and plentiful. Our server and another lady (possibly the owner) came over numerous times to point out veggie dishes on the menu ensuring that we were well taken care of. There was even a veggie dessert which we didn't have because we were so stuffed. Overall I enjoyed my meal and the customer service immensely. I would have rated the place a 5 star, but my husband didn't think as highly of it so we compromised on the rating. I wish there was a 4 1/2 star as that is what I would have given it. Wait it does because they also have a full bar. Ambience: you'd drive right by this place if you don't know where you're going. It's a small tan building right off the street beside a Krystals. The setup is nice inside and there is table service. Pick your table and go grab a plate for the buffet. Food: Buffet changes daily but there is so much to choose from you won't be disappointed any day of the week. Basmati rice is perfect especially with lentils. The Tikka Masala is the best I've ever had. Tandoori chicken is made to perfection with flavors that are out of this world. Dessert is always available too. If it's available try the Gulab Jamun. WOW. DELICIOUS & GREAT VALUE. Having read the many great reviews we decided to give this place a try and we're not disappointed. We took advantage of the great selection and quality of foods on the buffet and couldn't believe it was just $10. Enjoyed the Indian music videos playing in the background, fresh hot nam (bread) delivered from the oven, and nice wine selection from the bar. Staff was very courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit odd, no music, nobody at the counter when you come in, but they are very attentive, bring food out quickly, and the food they make is VERY good with large portion sizes. Their medium spice level is very reasonable and not too hot even for sensitive tongues, a nice even burn, and they were really nice! Probably best for takeout food because there's not much fanfare, so if you're looking for atmosphere, this isn't it. But the food is 10/10. read more

Let me preface this by saying I absolutely love indian food and I also eat vegetarian. I came here with a friend and upon first sighting my expectations were low. The site is a small restaurant tucked beside a gas station. There is very limited seating. We were seated and brought water and menus immediately. We chose arbitrarily to use the buffet instead of ordering. Now, the good part. I had the palak (spinach and mushrooms) with a cheesy potato dish, basmati rice with mixed vegetables, cabbage with peppers, and of course naan. The naan was fresh and hot, along with all of the food. I don't have any complaints about any of it. I was thoroughly impressed. We also had the desserts that looked and tasted like donut holes soaked in a sugary glaze. Also delicious. Plus, all of this and more was for only 10 bucks! The only downside was that after we were seated it took quite some time to receive refills on water and to pay for our food. I want to try the bar next time I come. Their curry compares with mines. They have a 100 health score rating! The waiters are super friendly. The buffet ranges from spicy, to salty, to mildly flavored , so there is something for everyone! I hate to give this place 2 stars because McDonough needs a good Indian restaurant. This isn't it. But there is potential. I wasn't impressed by the selection. Honestly, I was disappointed there weren't samosas on the buffet. I always expect those at an Indian buffet. I had the fried mixed vegetables and the zucchini was hard as a hockey puck, as was the long one (maybe carrot?) The ball was good though. It had spinach and onion and tasted like a hush puppy. The tandoori chicken was dry. Maybe because we went at 430 and they probably would have added fresher food after 5. The naan was good though. If you mess up the naan, I can't deal with you at all, so that was a good thing. The service was poor. My water glass was empty even though there was only one other party in there at the time. As soon as I walk in it looks like a family owned restaurant, clean and smelled great! I was also greeted by a gentlemen, I assume he was the owner and should've gotten his name, but he was very sweet and we chatted for a bit. He told me how the buffet and ordering from their menu worked and I tried the buffet since it smelled really good instead of ordering my regular butter chicken.
