We were food-tasting for an engagement party at different restaurants and happened to visit Masala Twist. We had an idea of what we would like for the party menu when we talked about the items we wanted; the restaurant management suggested to us why we should pick and why not pick certain items. On the party day, the team set up all the food. They were very detailed about the presentation and service they performed. They exceeded our expectations; the team jumped in and took care of some of the things we overlooked. Mango Lassi, Tandoori Chicken Tikka, and Chicken Tikka Masala were big hits. More than the program, the guests were bragging about the food's quality and taste. There is a saying in our community that if the food is great, the program is successful. The first time I tried out Chennai Cafe, I with a friend who read about it in D Magazine. It was fantastic! The #65 Cauliflower was wonderful and the dosa and Idli were perfect! The second time I went to Chennai Cafe, I was with a large group. The restaurant allowed us to re-arrange their tables for accommodation and the service was friendly and attentive. Again, delicious food, but this time our large group ate the buffet! I highly recommend. So much delicious variety. Tonight I ate there for the 3rd time and the owner, John, and his staff, were politely attentive and made sure our group of 6 was happy with the food--which we were extremely!!The service was superb and the food was delicious and so flavorful! I visited Chennai Cafe's Richardson location and was pleasantly surprised. I don't normally enjoy Indian buffets but this one was different. Each of the dishes on the buffet was outstanding in flavor and presentation. They had many items that I have never seen before. The place was clean and well-decorated and there were plenty of staff to serve. In addition to the buffet, we had masala dosa which was more flavorful than any I had at any other Indian restaurant. We also tried out their samosa which had a unique and tasty onion based filling. The outside of the samosa was perfectly crispy and not overly doughy. The desert on the buffet was something I have never tasted before and definitely exquisite. I wish that I lived closer. This place is amazing. We will definitely return frequently! read more

MUST TRY CHENNAI!!! If you Love Spicy Tried and True Indian Cuisine...Then you Must Try Chennai Cafe on Campbell Rd. My favorites so far Mutton Biriyani; which comes in a variety of selections. So far I have had chicken, shrimp, and lamb. All have a perfect heat that is surrounded by an intense, savory flavor that can't be described. For desert...Mango Custard...WOW..it's as good as it gets. You can tell from the exceptional taste of this food that there has been a lot of Love in preparing these dishes. And for a final send off...can you believe you can get this and more on a buffet at a great price. I haven't had the buffet yet..but soon and very soon. I visited Chennai cafe last week and the food was amazing, so invited a few people this week for their lunch buffet and the food quality was good as well. I like the fact that they maintain the traditional South Indian flavors and don't make the gravy sweet (as most indian restaurants do). The menu keeps changing and so we found at least two new dishes this week than last week. We were happy to find more vegetarian dishes, although they had good meat options too. They have more dessert options as well. Everyone loved the Mango custard!!! The owner and staff were very attentive and they deserve 5 stars just for the service. You would be amazed how good South Indian food. That is where taste of South comes into play. Loved their dosa preparations of various kinds. This is one of the restaurant we will visit often. Quality is very good. Fast service. Good interior. Great Parking facility and right off 75 highway and Campbell road. Service here is just excellent and loved it. Finally new Chennai cafe location near Richardson. Authentic southern Indian food, which is, in my opinion, as good as Chennai cafe Frisco. You have a lot to choose for the lunch buffet, both vegetarian and meat options. You can also have Dosa ordered to table. Food is tasty and price is reasonable. The staff is friendly and the manager will come to every table to ask about suggestions or solve any problems you may have. Went with a large group at lunch time. We were seated quickly with no wait and were quickly taken care of by excellent waiter. It has traditional Southern Indian Cuisine with great ingredients and very tasteful. The variety of food is excellent and everything was hot and/or fresh on the buffet. The masala and dosa was my favorite and did not disappoint. It was a very good dining experience that took great care of our large group. "Masala Twist Indian Cuisine" in 955 E Campbell Rd# 200 is one of the best Indian restaurant I have ever been. They have a lunch Buffet everyday and take out Lunch buffet for $6.99 a pound. Visited this place on a friends birthday. Ordered chettinad vegetables curry, butter paneer masala, chilly gobi 65. Paneer is not fried, butter masala did not have the buttery taste. Chettinad curry tasted more of cinnamon. Never tasted chettinad this bad. Gobi 65 was microwaved before it was served. Tried this restaurant for the first time after a friend suggested it was worth the drive from the high five area. Arrived early to beat the lunch rush and was seated quickly by a friendly waiter.
