I was really excited to try this place since it was new, but unfortunately ended up a little disappointed. They advertised sushi, but there were barely any sushi selections available. There were one or two items I really wanted to try, but they were finished and never restocked while we were there. Some of the food items were hit or miss in terms of taste. The overall concept is great though since they offer a variety of foods, and the dessert section was nice, especially the chocolate fountain. I would still suggest trying it once to see how you personally like it. It just probably wouldn't be a place we would return to, but I'm still glad we checked it out.

Honestly, all of this--and more--for $28?! And yes... that includes lobsters, oysters, and even snow crab! Came in on a weekend around 6PM and the wait wasn't bad at all, which was a pleasant surprise. Food-wise, there's a lot of variety. They have dim sum favorites like spareribs, bean curd, and those cute piggie custards (I forgot what they're actually called). There's also a ramen and noodle area with different options, a Mongolian grill and teppanyaki station where they cook it fresh, plus sushi, soups, and a good amount of seafood. The dessert section is actually decent for the price too--ice cream, pastries, fruits, a chocolate fondue station, and even a cotton candy machine, which was a fun touch. Service was solid. Our waitress was accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. Ambience is what you'd expect from a busy buffet--lively and a little chaotic, but overall clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was clean too, which I always notice. Overall, for $28, you really can't beat the variety. It's not luxury dining, but it definitely delivers on value and options. I'd come back when I'm craving a little bit of everything.

Its $28 without cost of a drink if you get soda or tea. Water is free. For $28 it was not bad. We came in on Saturday lunch right at 11:30AM. Everybody came for the crab legs but I didnt find them appealing. The Dungeness crab was fishy so it must have not been fresh. The other crab I didnt care for except Snow crab legs. Wish it was served hot instead of cold. Crawfish was good. the ginger scallion lobster had very little meat on it. I honestly thought the sushi and the hot chinese food options were way better than the seafood. Dim sum was mediocre and do not recommend. The yakitori options were bomb. Grilled meat on skewers but they didnt have any available for us as everybody stormed there.

The COOKED food was ok. The seafood was HIGHLY questionable. My friends and I went for lunch and they had all the food already set out nicely by the time the restaurant opened at 11:00AM. My friend and I grabbed some crab that were sitting on the ice to try. First bite into the crab I immediately recognized the weird taste... the meat was "crumbly" and it had a weird flavor. I tried the crab tomalley (the stuff inside the shell) and almost gagged since it tasted so bad. No more seafood. A friend reached out to me afterwards and told me he and his family tried the lobster at dinner time and it smelled and tasted bad. I think this place just serves bad seafood... I mean it makes sense in order to keep costs down. The other items are your typical buffet fare. Nothing special. I did like some of the dim sum items.

Mm I think this spot is between a 3/5 and a 4/5 for me! I really like how spacious and clean it is here, and they definitely have a large selection of dishes to offer. But i think there wasn't really much that stood out to me! I did like their pork belly dishes and the taro sago dessert was good! They do offer a lot of seafood options like crab legs, mala crawfish etc, and I did like the herbal soup they had too! If i was in the area and in the mood for a buffet I'd stop by! It is a bit higher priced than other buffets but I think its to be expected because you do get a lot of seafood and sushi and other dishes included so I can see it being worth it! c: Service was also attentive and friendly. Overall an ok experience!

I've been hearing a lot about this restaurant, and after visiting I would say it's pretty decent. It's pretty much like any other Chinese buffet but they do have a few different items. The food was decent, and the service was good. I really like the inside. It gave off very clean and open vibes.

This is my second time dining at this restaurant, and I wanted to give an honest, balanced review. There's definitely a wide variety of seafood to choose from--snow crab, Dungeness crab, lobster, shrimp, oysters, snails, and clams. Out of all the options, the snow crab was my favorite. The Dungeness crab, however, was difficult to eat and served cold; I think it would be much better if it were hot. They also offer a large selection of hot foods, but the beef dishes were disappointing. The meat was tough, including the skewered beef, which was very hard to chew. The Korean BBQ ribs had the same issue and lacked the tenderness you'd expect. On a more positive note, the snails were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The hot and sour soup was also excellent--definitely one of the highlights. From the dim sum selection, I enjoyed the glutinous rice and the steamed corn. Dessert was underwhelming. There were plenty of options, but they felt very typical of most buffets and nothing really stood out. Even the Jell-O didn't quite taste like Jell-O, despite looking like it. The restaurant itself is clean, including the bathrooms, and the service was great. Parking can be a bit challenging, so it's best to come early or during off-peak hours. Overall, this is an okay spot if you're looking for variety, especially seafood. However, it wouldn't be my first choice when I'm specifically craving high-quality seafood, especially considering there are other buffets with similar offerings at a lower price. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

    Valentine's Promotion- February
    Lynh B.

They are having February Promotion ($17 for lunch, $25 for dinner and $28 for weekend) which is very worth it. They have a whole lot more varieties of Chinese dishes than normal buffet like King Buffet or Flaming Buffet, but of course higher price. ($38/pp) Their food is fresh and made in small patches so they always run out fast and need to wait a bit between refills. The tastes are better and more authentic (Chinese dishes, sushi, skewers, hot pot, hibachi, sashimi etc.) than other Chinese buffets around.

    Tianxu Z.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is located in Richardson Chinatown, and the location itself is quite convenient. However, the weekend price of $38 per adult is definitely not worth it. Although they advertise seafood, the lobster and crab were not fresh at all. The snow crab legs were acceptable, but everything else was just average in both quality and taste. Compared to King Buffet in Plano, which charges only $17 on weekends, this place is extremely overpriced. They also seem to be understaffed, and some of the waitresses had poor attitudes toward customers. Overall, it was not a good experience. In my opinion, it would only be worth at most $20 on weekends unless the seafood quality improves significantly.

This is one of the best buffets in the dfw. If you're coming mainly for the lobster, you will be disappointed. They have a server portioning it out, so you don't get to pick your own, and you're given just two to three small pieces each time. Most underrated item here is the snow crab legs. They're big and the meat is firm. They also have Dungeness crab, stone crab claws, and crawfish, grilled oysters. The dim sum selection is good, and there's also a noodle bar and a skewer station. Overall, there's a huge variety of Chinese dishes that you don't typically see at other Chinese buffets. We went at 4pm on a Saturday and no wait, a line started forming around 5:30pm.

    Quynh-Nhi N.

Tried this AYCE buffet and was honestly impressed by the variety. They have so much food. I really appreciated the seafood selection: Dungeness crab, lobster, and even sashimi, which you don't usually see at a typical Chinese buffet. Their soup section is yummy. I also liked that there were a lot of dishes that felt different from the standard buffet lineup, so I got to try a wider range of foods. They even had durian, which was a surprise. That said, it definitely gets packed during dinner, and it can take a while to get your food. The layout means you often have to stand in long lines to reach certain dishes. For the lobster, there's a staff member serving it, so you're limited to just a few pieces at a time. Overall, the food and selection are good, but it's on the pricier side. Worth trying at least once for the variety, especially if you're a seafood fan.

    Danny N.

It's a massive, spacious buffet with a great variety of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The Highlights: Seafood: The stir-fried lobster and sushi are definitely the standouts. They also have crab legs and crawfish. Variety: They offer a Mongolian grill station and a Japanese ramen bar. Unique Finds: They even serve sliced durian, which you don't see often! Sashimi. The Chinese mapo tofu and eggplant is really good. Things to Note: The food is well-presented, though you might have to wait a few minutes for the popular seafood items to be refilled. Also, if you're coming with a group of 6 or more, be aware they add a 25% automatic gratuity. Overall, a solid new addition to the North Dallas Asian food scene. Great for families and buffet lovers!

Overall Rating: 4/5 (O = good, X = bad) 1. Atmosphere: O - The atmosphere was cleanly and pleasant. It was very open and had many stations of food. Only thing that could be a concern is the long but skinny walkway where people could bump into one another. Otherwise, good 2. Service: O - The waitress was very attentive to our table and cleared plates often 3. Food/Products: O - There's a lot of options here. The stand out of course is the sea food, such as crab legs, lobster, crawfish, clams, and shrimp. All the seafood was good, save for the bad or overcooked piece every now and then. Other than that they have other options such as sushi and sashimi which tasted very fresh and good. They even had a ramen bar which had either a pork or soy sauce broth that you can customize toppings. Needless to say the variety is stellar 4. Pricing: X - We all saw this one coming. It's a seafood buffet, it was expensive as balls but obviously it has to be with the variety of food they had. As well as for the quality, honestly I understand the pricing but man it was a kick in the balls getting that check. 5. Overall Experience: O - I think it was a great experience. The variety of food meant you had a ton of options and quality was definitely maintained to a high standard. Once you swallow that you'll be getting nuked when the bill comes, it's an amazing buffet with amazing options and great food. Highlights/Recommendations: I love há cảo so much omg. The ramen bar was also really good. If you follow me, you know I'm obsessed with ramen and honestly this one holds up which is surprising for this place since its niche isn't solely ramen. Very pleasant surprise

I love how many chicken options there are as someone who isn't crazy about beef or pork. There is also falafel and plenty of beans for your vegan/ vegetarian friends. What's different about this restaurant is the variety of meat dishes they offer. We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.
