Stopped by this place for the first time and was impressed with the variety of pastries and good service. I'll be back for sure

I ordered take out at 6:40pm and was told it would be 20 mins. for my order to be ready, I arrived around 7pm I paid my order and some pastries and I was told to wait a few more minutes. 15-20 mins had passed and still no food. The girl at the counter was dealing with an annoying customer asking 1000 questions and wanting to try the pastries, I believe that the customer got her frustrated because when I asked about my food she literally said "what food?" with an attitude . I then show her my receipt that I had paid for two plates of food and was still currently waiting on, I explained to her I had placed the order by phone to avoid waiting so long and it had been 50 minutes since I had placed my order. She's trying to ask another worker about my food and the lady replied "I don't know" ....she has me wait 8 mins, then She goes to the back comes back and tells me sorry they dropped your food , it's gonna be another 10mins. I understand Mistakes happen but it was the way they handled the situation that had me really frustrated (mind you other customers arriving after me were getting their food before me!! ) Ive been working in the restaurant business for over 10 years and the customer service that they had was definitely unacceptable. I ran out of patience and asked if they can please give me back my money another lady decides to step in and tells me to just wait a few more minutes my food was coming. Which I replied no thank you I want my money back and she decides to tell me "it's your loss your food is almost ready" . As I am trying to argue for my money back my food finally comes out, so I asked for them to comp one of my plates, which they did, but that still didn't fix their horrible customer service. It's very sad to see that places that have very good food loose customers over their customer service. Oh yeah btw when I got home I realized that they hadn't given me my hummus. At first glance it looks like a plain bakery. I was surprised that they actually serve food here. We always order their beef Lula kabob. It comes with rice, pepper and tomato and a small side of onions. The serving is pretty decent most of the time. Today though the serving seems to be on the smaller side. It's so inconsistent!! The food is okay. It's not the best quality meat but you can't beat the price at $4.99. I just don't like the ladies that work there. They are rude!! A few times that we came in, they didn't acknowledge us upon entering. They continued talking in their language (armenian) doing what theyre doing like we didn't exist. At least havr the decency to tell us that they will be helping us in awhile. I also wish that they'd serve garlic sauce. 5 stars for the honey cake. The space is weird -- is it a bakery or a restaurant or a grocery? There will be cheesy music videos loudly playing on the TV in the middle of the store. There will be terribly-decorated birthday cakes in the fridge. And from what I gather based on the other reviews, you should stay away from the western-style baked goods. (This should be a rule you follow anyway. I am not a fan of Middle Eastern/Eastern European desserts in general. Plus they have crap tastes in chocolate.) However, one of my friends brought this honey cake to my dinner party and then one day I found myself driving to Sun Valley to buy a tray of it for a party, too. Wanted to give them the benefit of doubt and bought 4 macarons cuz the lady @ the counter when asked if they are fresh answered "everything we have out is very fresh, we dont sell anything that wasnt baked fresh daily" in a condescending tone. Lies! My macarons were soo old, stale and the filling for the lemon one even went bad (found out the hard way once i bit into it) gross! Masis Bakery, literally the only Armenian bakery/restaurant over here in my neck of the woods. The prices are amazing, for under 6-7 bucks you can get a lule kabob plate with a bottled drink. The quality of the ingredients are up to par, the meat is clean, they give you a nice helping of rice alongside the tomatoe and pepper and it's always fresh. Who can disagree that this is so much better than fast food and even better priced. I love this place, my mom sometimes on a busy day, will go down there and buy a couple pounds of already marinated ground beef and make that with rice in all of five minutes! And before I check out, let's not forget the pastries... they are always delicious, decently priced, and great for any occasion or even just as desert after your kabob plate. If I could give 0 star, I would give it to them. I placed an order on Saturday, 12/2 at 2 pm for #5, #7 and #14. We know that it takes awhile for them to cook our order. So we waited. But lo and behold, our order was not given to the cook since we saw other customers who placed orders after us got their orders pretty fast. I went up to the counter and followed up. It was already 3 pm, almost an hour of waiting and yet, they asked me to still wait for 15 minutes more since they were still cooking it. I just felt so mad and wanted to scream at them but I controlled myself and just ask to get my money back. It was TERRIBLE! So apparently you have to be Armenian to get any service in this place. My girlfriend and I have been here before and the service has always been whatever at best, but at least we weren't ignored and blatantly passed over so they could help a fellow Armenian who was in line BEHIND us. No worries. We just walked out because they apparently have too much money and don't need the business. There's nothing special about this place anyway. Avoid this place if you're not Armenian. Worst costumer service. I came to this place happy and left very upset. The lady on the cash register mariam was very rude and I asked her what sides she had and she said can you hurry up and look at the menu and didn't want to explain anything to me. FIRST OFF YES EXPIRED GREEK SALADS NOT ONCE BUT 3 times they don't give a crap about complaints. They won't do anything about them . I ordered food plates of kabobs They messed up twice on my order between beef and chicken .horrible service they are rude ! Cakes are very old the icing was yucky . Yes i ordered different items. The food is excellent. The beef Lula kabobs will melt in your mouth. The desserts are amazing as well. The prices are reasonable.

Nice & friendly staff. My co-workers and I were trying to decide what to order, and the ladies at the counter were apologetic thinking they were ignoring us. We repeatedly told them we were ok and that we were still deciding on our choices. After we placed our order, they decided to give us free cheese rolls on their own accord. Happy to have a new, clean bakery walking distance from my house. My favorite is the fried bread filled with potato or ground beef. They also have a potato ball that is pretty good, if you don't compare it to Porto's. They put dill in their ground beef, which taste a little interesting. The Ham and Cheese Croissant is alright, the Tiramisu is not bad. The prices are great! This place is a-ok, but not Porto's. read more

I was in the area and yelped for Armenia Bakeries and this place came up with high recommendations. The fruit tart I purchased was pretty and delicious, on top of that the costumer service was great and the associates were helpful. I am an indecisive person and took me a while to decide what I wanted. I think I asked the associate Kristine about every single cake they had, she patiently answered my questions and even gave me recommendations. The store was busy, so getting that one on one attention was very important. I usually don't get this kind of service at the Armenian pastry shops. Love going here! Not only is the food super yummy but the staff is very nice as well. All of their plates are delicious and the price is unbeatable. For only $5 you can get a chicken kabob plate with grilled veggies and rice! I have ordered multiple times for a get together at home and everyone loved it. The cakes are yummy as well! read more

This place is horrible... the customer service sucks we ordered a cake for my moms 60th birthday .. we went in a few weeks before the event and sat with someone letting them know what we wanted they said no problem we can do it .. I picked up the cake on Sunday the day of the event and it was all wrong and no one seemed to care , I asked to talk to a manager but no one wanted to man up .. there driver was talking to me , he's the kind of person that thinks woman should not have an opinion or a mind of there own and told me .. "I think your only complaining because you don't have the money to pay " WTF who's says that to a customer , after about a hour or two and driving down to the Burbank location we got the cake to at least look kinda presentable payed them what we own (because the money was not the issue) they didn't even say sorry or offer a discount... later on I noticed the cake was leaning to one side , and was cracking , I called the owner of the company to complain he picked the phone , I then started telling him what had happened and before I knew it he hung up on me , then texted me ,"I'm at a funeral I will call you back later ." This probably one of my first worst experience I've ever had in this place. I went in to buy a cake for my love one. I waited 15 to even get acknowledge, which I never did. New potato balls! If you've been eating their potato balls in the past but weren't too happy with them, I don't blame you. But recently I went in there for lunch and bought some and they've changed their recipe now and it is DELICIOUSSSSS!!! The outside is now slightly crunchy, which makes it so much better!
