Came here around 8 pm on a Friday evening with my husband and 3 kids. Food took almost an hour to come out and was cold. Meanwhile the table next to us, with more people, ordered after us and we were still waiting while they were already finishing their food. We accidentally spilled and broke a glass of water and no one came to help clean up even though a few servers saw. The food was mediocre - kids pasta and burger were cold, and Caesar salad had way too much dressing. Buffalo chicken wrap was okay. It was nice that kids meals came with ice cream. Loved the older style interior. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and had a few great conversations with the bar staff. I was recommended a few local beers to try and they were all very good. Need to invest in excellent cleaning company or a visit from Public Health Dept 1) Hundreds of gnats/small flies all over walls in women's bathroom, all alive, including under toilet, sink, horribly disgusting-makes you wonder why are they there? My husband and I went here on 7/3/2023 around 1:45 pm to see the live music scheduled for 2 - 5 pm. The hostess seated us at a table in the front of the room. While we were looking at the menus a blonde waitress came over and told us they were moving our table out of the room and we had to move to a table in the back. This was incorrect. The table was not moved out of the room and remained empty. When the music began we noticed that our original table was still there and still empty. We asked to be moved back to the original table and we then got a different story. The waitress said that table and 6 other empty tables were all reserved for other people. That was also incorrect. When we left several hours later around 5 pm the 7 tables close to the front of the room were still empty! It seems we were stuck in the back of the room for no reason. You can no longer order a baked potato with everything, the prime rib no longer comes with asparagus and the chicken pot pie has no crust- just a big soupy bowl with something similar to a soggy croissant floating on top. We were on our way to NYC with a bus tour group snd this was the stop for our first prepaid dinner. I had looked online prior to the trip and thought what a cute place! Well, it was cute but the food we had was not very good at all. They had a buffet with BBQ chicken, pulled pork, steamed vegetables, mac and cheese, coleslaw and rolls and butter. Honestly both my husband and I thought the pork was awful. It had a terrible taste. The chicken was edible but cold and not very good. Mac snd cheese yuck. We went for a good old fashioned Sunday brunch buffet which are hard to find. Pleased to see Mason Jar has back. Hesitant to go after reading reviews but decided to give it a try. The food was much better than expected. Our waiter was very nice and helpful albeit he told us he doesn't usually work Sundays so was a little unsure of some things but pleasant non the less. So food and service very nice. But the place itself is old, run down and dirty. Walking in we had to pass a huge planter turned ashtray which was overflowing with butts. This place was large. It reminded me of an old time saloon. I was really fascinated by the pig statues around the restaurant. The menu provided lots of options ranging from BBQ to burgers to a create your own pasta dish. The service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. I went with the North Meets South Burger ($12.50). It consisted of burnt ends and ground beef infused with their own BBQ sauce with aged cheddar cheese. There was also a very light side order of fries to my disappointment. The fries were extremely crisp and packed with seasoning. I was hoping for more of them to be present. For the burger itself, it was cooked to a medium temperature like I requested. The burnt ends were tasty as well as the burger. The BBQ sauce provided that smoky taste to it. The roll was an appropriate choice for this burger as the ratio of meat to bread was great. Will I go back? Easily. read more

We walked in and we were not sure if we would immediately regret eating here. We sat down, and looked over the menu. The table was wobbly. The atmosphere was sketchy. However, everyone was friendly. The waitress greeted us with a friendly smile and demeanor. We ordered lots of BBQ because this is a barbecue place. Our drinks came out and the presentation was lovely! But the food. I haven't had ribs that taste that good in a very very very long time. The ribs were tender and juicy, falling off the bone! No need for any seasoning. The vegetables were fresh, the smashed potatoes were excellent. We also had the cheese dessert. Comfortable, fun and they have good food. Their marinara sauce is my favorite (and I go to a lot of Italian restaurants). With my dietary restrictions (I'm vegan and lactose intolerant) it's hard to find enjoyable food. Servers are always great and friendly- and, they've never made me feel uncomfortable for asking questions or making requests. Music nights are fun, too (saw Richie Ranno's All Stars several times and they're always fantastic). Great, local bar! read more

My family and I are here this week. The brisket tacos were delicious. I had a "Blue Burger" for dinner. It was cooked just right and tasted amazing with the blue cheese and fried Vidalia onions. Had the smoked rib combo, along with sides of smashed potatoes and coleslaw; I also ordered an extra 0.5 lb of beef brisket. The brisket was on the leaner side and the first few bites were chewy but still moist; would've preferred nothing slathered on top initially. However, after a few minutes, the brisket dried out quickly, necessitating sauce. Luckily, the regular bbq sauce was good and befitted the task. The baby back ribs slid off the bones easily and were mostly chewy (though some pieces were quite tough), though they were over-sauced at times. cute spot that is very accommodating ! we called at 515 asking for a 6pm reservation for 8 people and they said sure ! we got there at 5:45 and grabbed drinks at the bar while we waited. our table was ready just after 6pm, we all sat and got waters & asked if we wanted more drinks immediately. food orders were taken about 15 minutes after being seated and i'd say we all had food in front of us within 15-20 minutes after that. i had the little neck clams in white sauce & soft pretzels. If you're on a small getaway and get hungry for a burger I would 100% recommend Mason Jar! Staff hospitality was warm and welcoming, perfect on a brisk day. Gave it a second shot after last being there 4 years ago. Disappointed again. No chance it gets a second shot in another 4 years... and I live so close. Place is still just out dated and disappointingly dirty. I didn't expect much for what I would get for a meal, but it even disappointed my low expectations. Not often do you have two meals ordered with cheese and both had cold slices of cheese on the food like they were dropped in on the way from the kitchen to the table. Ribs were good, but not spectacular, wings were good and decent size, Calamari was good but could be improved upon, No seasoning in the coating, side salads were good size and fresh. But the winner of the evening was the Pizza. I don't think I have ever had a bad piece of Pizza ever in New York or the Eastern sea board...... Great crust crispy bottom with just a little chewiness to it. Just the right amount of cheese and toppings. The best part was the sauce I should have asked if it was fresh or canned but it had great tomato flavor. Loved the Pizza. Drinks were good and quick, you got to love that. We took my wife's mom out here for her birthday at her request and, sadly, every single thing I had from the buffet/made to order menu was cold and/or under seasoned. Overlooking the fact we were seated late for our 12:30 reservations I proceeded to order the eggs Florentine which, when it arrived, had eggs so overcooked that there was no yoke left to run out when I cut them. I mentioned it to the waitress who made absolutely no offer to exchange them or, for that matter, say anything at all. I then tried some of the buffet items; hash browns, cold and under seasoned, corned beef hash, cold, sliced ham, cold in the middle (and this was remarkably under a heat lamp), bacon, cold, sausage, cold. I pretty much quit at that point and had a bagel with cream cheese. For $35 I expect the hot food to be hot. read more

The manager cared more about his worker looking in the bags then making sure my order was right.
