I wanted to submit a review to call out the excellent service and experiences I have had lately with S Water Plumbing. This past month we have had a bit of a chronic plumbing disaster at our house. We had a major blockage on two separate occasions that needed professional servicing to clear. Both times (because what can go wrong, will go wrong and at the worst possible time), the blockages happened late at night when it was very difficult to get anyone to help. In a panic and not knowing who could provide emergency or 24/7 plumbing services we tried calling at least 6 or 7 companies that showed up on a Google search. Each one was more useless than the next and though many advertised "24/7" help, that help was nonexistent. By sheer luck we got through to S Waters Plumbing and they were the ONLY company that immediately connected us to their plumber on call. In this case (and I want to name him specifically and give him the shout out he deserves), we were connected with Kevin. Kevin was very helpful in listening to what we were dealing with and advising what he would be able to do and what the options and pricing would be if we truly needed an emergency session. The first time around our problem could wait, and Kevin got to us first thing the next morning and cleared our blockage! A few weeks later we ran into the same problem, however this time is absolutely COULD NOT WAIT and was a total disaster and nightmare situation. Once again, Kevin came to our rescue late that night and took care of the problem, as well as using a camera to get a look at the pipes under our house and see if the reason for the repeated blockages could be identified. Kevin also came back the next day and spent a good hour underneath our house in a very cramped crawl space to assess our pipes and see what could be done to make our water flow better (which was an accumulation of small things causing poor flow and likely contributing to blockages). This all finally culminated with today, where Kevin and another worker returned and spent 4 hours under our house adjusting and leveling all our pipes to have proper grade and slope, removing and adding new plumbing fixtures and connections to pipes that did not have proper ones, etc. Every time Kevin has been out he has been meticulous in his work, documenting everything, taking pictures of everything, explaining everything, cleaning up after himself and just being great to deal with. The communication has always been excellent, calling when he was on his way, giving updates if there was delay and never leaving us guessing. The work done today they covered all the surfaces to not leave any dirt, they wore boot covers to not track any dirt into our house, really going above and beyond to keep things clean when working in a dirty environment. For all that has been done I felt the pricing has been very fair and I feel like Kevin made every effort to save us money or not do work that was not needed. Never did I ever feel upsold or that someone was trying to take advantage of our difficult situation. My wife and I needed a specialized plumbing installation (Pex Manabloc manifold) at our townhouse in Novato. This piece of equipment distributes ALL of the water throughout the home, so expert installation is critical. The job required special order parts from multiple suppliers. Brandon coordinated it all. We had a weekend emergency with our water heater pilot not staying lit, and we contacted the Waters team, who were immediately responsive and sent out AJ to fix the problem. After assessing, he asked if there was an earthquake shutoff valve (there was a newly installed one), which he proceeded to reset (it was stuck apparently and unusually), and bingo, our pilot light issue was solved, as was a problem with low flames on our stovetop! AJ recommended we get a new water heater since ours was over 20 years old, and he proceeded to obtain it and work on installing. Due to some additional adjustments to seating the new heater, Kevin and Brandon from the Waters team came out the following week to the complete the additional work (free of charge). They were on time, very engaging and total pros and did an excellent job. Just want to thank the amazing team at S Waters Plumbing (Steve, Starr, Paige, Kevin, Brandon, and AJ). He gets one star because I can't post zero stars. Before you use this company, be 100% sure your counter tops around the fixtures you want worked on have no issues. He will not take responsibility for damage he causes. I called SWatters to repair a leaky kitchen faucet. The plumber doing the work decided it would be easier to replace than to repair the leak (first strike - that was an expensive faucet to not attempt to fix). He attempted to disassemble the faucet. In the process, he broke the granite around the fixture. He then disappeared for an hour to run to Pini Hardware and get a new faucet and some epoxy. In his attempt to "fix" things, he glued the stone back in (a very poor job as there was about 1/8th of an inch protrusion of the broken part). Further, he put a hokey fixture in place with a plate to hide all the damage. See the photos. He then charged for an extra hour as well as the cost of the hokey faucet telling me he'd buy it back when I got things fixed. Well, that hasn't happened either. I found a company that could do a proper repair of the granite and they did a wonderful job. However, Steve Watters now refuses to reimburse me for that expense because "the granite was broken before my guy started working on it." If that's the case, wouldn't it have been obvious to the plumber doing the work? Why would he try to disassemble things without first pointing out to me or my wife that the granite was broken. I don't buy it. But, it is a prime example of someone that refuses to take responsibility for the work they do. Sarcasm on: It's not SWatters fault that his plumber broke my granite. It's not his fault he did a horrible repair job. But, it's mine and I'm the one that needs to pay for the repairs because he refuses to give reimburse me or give me his insurance company's information so I can submit a claim? Again, I don't buy it. and you shouldn't either. I'd think twice about using someone that won't take responsibility for their actions. read more

My master bathroom shower was giving me issues so I phoned a handyman. That turned into days and hours of wasted time with my homeowners warranty to cover the project which wasn't worth the paper it was printed on so I took to this handy dandy Yelp app to find help. I chose this company for their prompt, professional response via Yelp messaging as well as their reasonable in-person post assessment price quote. Brandon came, assessed the situation, we came up with a plan. Instead of a huge project, he simply worked with what I had so the shower could function properly, leaving the full demo for a later date when I remodel the bathroom and move plumbing fixtures around. I also asked him to help me replace the main water shutoff with a lever so I can do it post haste in event of water crisis in the house. I liked knowing what was wrong, the various approaches available to repairing it along with the prices, and being left to decide. It matters. Working together vs being told what is happening without your input and you just have to pay. What's not to love about working with someone who takes the time to understand what your needs are and instead of price gouging you, they work with your to establish a game plan that everyone wins? I like that. I trust them. I will call again. This service call was in February a week before my family sheltered in place for COVID, I forgot to post it! I had an urgent matter after having a new refrigerator delivered and discovered 30+ yr old water connector in wall would not connect to new frig and water leaking from old connector. On June 25, 2020 I called S Waters and spoke to "Star" about running a 15-foot gas line to our kitchen from the meter for a new stove. Kevin came for an estimate. He seemed very friendly and knowledgeable, and said it would take two plumbers about one day, plus materials. He estimated $1,000 per plumber, plus a few hundred dollars in materials. So, the total would be about $2,300 to $2,400. I got two other estimates. The job was done nicely by another plumber and took 4 1/2 hours by one plumber. Total cost $625. I am assume S Waters does good work, but it would be a good idea to get competitive estimates. read more

I awoke to water on my new kitchen floor, presumably coming from a new dishwasher that had been installed a couple of months ago. In a panic I called three different plumbing companies to get some help and they either did not answer the phone, were unavailable, or wanted to charge me an emergency fee of $360 just to come out! I only ever want Brandon to fix my plumbing in the future. I had never used S Waters before. I randomly call a list of local plumbers when the job is a clogged drain, toilet installation, etc., anything I call "small plumbing" needs. Brandon called before he came to give me an ETA (same day service, which honestly it was not an emergency so I felt I'd been given a little bonus). He showed up a little late and explained why (not a problem because I did not have to be anywhere that afternoon and he was fully transparent about it). He got right to it and easily uncovered the "problem." There was no problem and I could have fixed it in a minute. New style shower drain in the remodeled bathroom has a cool catch for hair and soap gunk. So he looked at me, we laughed and he said, "I'm sorry, I've got to bill you for my time, what else can I fix?" We went through the house and honestly my house is well maintained. I couldn't find a thing. He said, "Let's go outside, maybe a leaky faucet, or..." and he saw the water shut off valve handle that had snapped off 10 years ago. Kevin from S Waters Plumbing saved us when our gas fireplace wouldn't turn off. Of course this type of thing only happens on a Saturday during the holidays. I called every plumbing service in the Marin area (even some with only 3 stars), desperate to stop the flow of gas to the fireplace. Kevin called back and promised to be there within 2 hours. About 1 1/2 hours later he arrived, assessed the problem and capped the gas pipe leading into the fireplace. He did not fix the problem causing the gas to not turn off because he didn't want to spend a lot of time at the "emergency rates" he had to charge.
