Liked having two kinds of BBQ sauce on the table (one sweet, one with mustard), and the French fries were decent. My partner asked for lean brisket, and it actually showed up lean. Someone else at the table asked for it fatty, and that's how it came. I do wish they offered a platter with a choice of meat and two sides for a good price, like many BBQ joints, but in the end, I figured out how to make it work (hint: order a sandwich). And for anyone traveling to try, know the brisket and ribs were extremely dry. My biggest issue, was that in my platter order, it contained the following low quality/low standards: 1) two ends from the point, and one end from the flat were in my 1/2 lbs of brisket- thats three ends. One looked like it was reheated from the day before- but this means an employee thought it was a good idea to put MULTIPLE brisket ends in one order. (Btw good bbq places make something called 'Burnt ends'-you should google that). 2) The pork ribs contained two rib points. Same issue as the brisket. This means an employee purposely gave my order the worst rib from two different racks. On top of that they were butchered and flavorless. 3) The star of the show, the $64 beef rib was an end cut (thats bad luck but...) and was dried out and contained no meat. They also did not call me when my takeout order was ready, (I had to ask about it, after 35 minutes PAST my estimated time, and it was just sitting there). It came with no BBQ sauce. 1/2 chicken was nothing to write home about, but at least it wasn't dry. The wings, RyThai Chile , were excellent, and I liked the blue cheese. I also liked the Brussel sprouts. The guy who took my order over the phone was great. I have never been to brother Jimmies but I suggest you go there over HooDoos. I would rather try a McRib over trying Hoodoo's again... No one should EVER travel here- this is just a good example of social media fame. Yuck.

Collard greens are one of the reasons I go to BBQ joints. Here it comes......they cook the greens with something (hot sauce maybe?) to make them burn your mouth hot and spicy. Why would you ruin collard greens by making them so hot that you don't even taste the greens? They went into the trash. I hate hot and spicy. I've never been to a restaurant that did that. Really annoying. This place is not cheap, so don't expect "typical" BBQ restaurant prices. But it's in an upscale Westchester neighborhood so I suppose they charge what people are willing to pay. More power to them. Keeping a restaurant running is expensive and exhausting. I might return sometime and try their chicken. I'll have some more cornbread and M & C and try another side dish. I've been to FarmEats before on a few occasions and had different things, and I think the common theme is "more is more". Get something smoked? It will be *really* smoked. Get a fatty brisket? It's gonna be insanely fatty. I swear, I'm not some closet vegetarian clutching their pearls here. I love a good BBQ, but this place always leaves me feeling overwhelmed.
