    Grape jelly soft serve

Posting another review because this ice cream is amazing ! The grape jelly soft serve was so delicious! If you love grape juice, you will love this! They also have peanut butter soft serve and can do a twist with it! 10/10 recommend. I will be sad when this flavor goes away :(

Great spot on a Sunday afternoon! My son wanted ramen but they only serve that (understandably!) in the winter. So he had a Korean hot dog on a stick instead and we also tried two flavors of ice cream: strawberry cream and peanut butter/marshmallow. Both were quite good. It does get busy here, but we seemed to have arrived before the rush. They do give you a little buzzer that will go off when your order is ready. The ice cream is handed over right away, but the savory dishes (or maybe the sundaes too) do take a little more time. They have water available outside in coolers, which is a nice touch. Plenty of picnic table seating available. We easily found street parking right outside.

OOHH EEMM GGEE... this may have been some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Mason's Creamery is a quaint little shop tucked away in Ohio City ... clearly a neighborhood staple, but such a wonderful discovery for us. The staff were just as bright and refreshing as the ice cream itself ... welcoming us with smiles from the moment we walked in. Now let's talk about this dangerously addictive dessert. You can choose a cup, cone, or bubble waffle, and I absolutely recommend the waffle. They make them fresh to order, and it takes the whole experience to another level....pssst. it was warm folks The flavor selection is creative and unique, with vegan options available as well. Even better, they use no gums, artificial flavors, or stabilizers ...and you can truly taste the difference. We tried the Blueberry Latte, Honey Cornbread, Marzipan, and Strawberries & Cream... and every single one was out of sight. And as if the ice cream wasn't enough, they also do an incredible job with ramen and Korean corn dogs. Surely recommend. Definitely worth the visit.

This ice cream is wonderful it's creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. I got the ube ice cream and cookie sandwich and my mouth was and heaven and the staff were so patient and sweet about helping me make a choice on my sweet treat.

Finally tried the ramen. I got the raclette my son got the tonkatsu. The Raclette ramen was so unique and all the flavors from the broth to the pickled veggies, to the pork and raclette cheese were meant to be together. Creamy savory broth made me drink it out of the bowl. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and scratch made. We ate in the covered cafe space and the people were so friendly. One of the best ramen's I've had to date. I think it will become one of those defining dishes you can only get in the CLE.

Such unique ingredients and creative ice creams! The bubble cones are insanely good!! Service was fast and there's a great little spot to sit outside!

It's a retro looking shop in a residential neighborhood. The line and the offerings are both ample on a good day, and I waited for a bubble waffle. The flavors are distinctive-one I was hoping for they were out of but I ended up with some interesting malted chocolate and something banana-based. A few non-dairy frozen desserts were available. The waffle browned nicely and made a great combination with ice cream from top to bottom. There was outdoor seating with a porta-potty set up and a water cooler that was empty, so bear in mind the limitations of the setting, but on a nice day this was clearly the place to be.

Mason's Creamery is a Cleveland's classic that I only visited years after living in CLE. It's definitely a summer place to be (day or late night) where you can meet up with friends and family, bring your dog, and hang out on the patio. This place is consistently lively! Food: The menu features ice cream, affogato, and sorbet. You can order your favorite ice cream in a cup, cone or ice cream sandwich. New seasonal flavors are posted on chalk boards outside. You can also order Korean hot dogs! In colder months, Mason's Creamery switches to their ramen menu (watch their social media). It's so cool to associate this place with your warmest and coldest moments. You can order at a small shop inside or at the takeout window (samples available). I ordered forest berry sorbet in a waffle cone ($7). Sorbet was good, but a little watery. I usually go for sweeter flavors. Cone was sugary and delicious! Easily the best cone I've tasted locally! Service: Service was very quick and pretty pleasant. The line moved fast. Seating: Plenty of covered and uncovered seating is available outside. There are tables and benches to accommodate all kinds of groups or solo visitors. There are also cool string lights in the evening that add to the whole vibe. No indoor seating is available, just patio. Parking: No onsite parking is available, park on the street. Ohio City is a challenging parking destination but it's well worth. I'll try other ice cream and sorbet flavors next time. I also really want to try their ramen! I've heard so much about it!

Visited Mason's Creamery today to try their ice cream. To my surprise, they offer affogato, which is traditionally made with Italian ice cream and Italian espresso. To my dismay, they don't use Italian ice cream or Italian espresso. But it was still pretty tasty. They do need to improve the presentation because it was just vanilla ice cream floating in a bowl of espresso. I also had one scoop of ice cream in a bowl and it was tasty. Good stuff!

This place knows what they are doing. It's always busy. They don't always have flavors I love. I wish they had a few more traditional ones. I love that Bubble Waffles, which you have to order at the register. Then they give you a pager that will beep when ready and you pick it up at the outside window. The Waffle is wonderful. Fluffy and has a slight maple syrup flavor. The Maple Bacon flavor is great as was the White Rabbit. The Peach didn't taste much like Peach. I really appreciate a place that makes their own whipped cream as opposed to the kind in a can with terrible ingredients.

Cute spot with ample outdoor seating and a fun atmosphere. The ice cream was phenomenal. I got the cookies & cream which was stuffed with cookies and the honey cornbread that I'm still thinking about. An unexpected flavor with large chunks of moist cornbread. The also have bubble cones which looked and smelled amazing (next time!) Small is 2 scoops $6 Medium is 3 scoops $7 Milkshakes are 4 scoops $8

QUICK REVIEW (if you don't want to read the long review below): Quaint Ohio City neighbourhood ice-cream shop owned by husband and wife couple, Jesse Mason and Helen Qin. Serving up unique flavoured ice-creams from cardamon to ube along with Korean-style corn dogs all year round plus ramen in the winter months. Owners moved from Los Angeles, CA to Cleveland, Ohio in 2013 and local Clevelanders like myself are happy they did. LONG REVIEW: ** 5/5 stars for their tasty ice-cream** (I'll update it once I try their ramen and winter menu) I've been to Mason's Creamery approximately 8 times or more. I visited recently in August 2024 for a friend's going-away gathering before she moved back home to Houston, Texas. ORDERING -- outside at the booth or inside. It's a very small ice-shop but if you're new, I suggest ordering inside where you can see the full menu and ask questions. Their limited ice-cream menu is also posted outside. SEATING -- Patio-style. They have chairs all outside the ice-cream shop including a section at the back with about 3-4 tables. For my friend's going-away social, we (about 6 of us) sat at one of the tables/chairs at the back. There is no inside seating. ICE-CREAMS -- I got the small Cardamon flavour in a cup ($6). It was such a light and airy ice-cream yet filled with flavour. They sell ube, strawberry, chocolate, and much more flavours. They also have some seasonal or temporary flavours that appear once in a while. You can get ice-cream in a cup, cone, waffle, or in a cookie as an ice-cream sandwich. Since they produce small-batch ice-cream, they may run out of certain flavours during the day although that's never happened to me when I've visited. KOREAN CORN DOGS ($6 - $7) -- Choose from beef, cheese, vegan, or half and half (half cheese and half beef). As someone who prefers to eat healthy 95% of the time, I surprised myself by ordering a beef corn dog topped with potato during my August 2024 visit. Yea, it isn't the healthiest food in the world but it was so delicious. I got the yum-yum sauce on If you know me, I almost never eat corn dogs or beef hamburgers but my friend Naila persuaded me to get one as everyone was leaving. I remember eating hot dogs all the time when I was younger but little did I know that years later, Korean Corn Dogs would be a popular development (haha). I ate my potato topped beef corn dog in pure happiness in-between helping my friend move and pack up her apartment, along with the cardamom ice-cream that I got. Writing down my thoughts now 3 months later makes me want to order the corn dog and cardomon ice-cream again. Support local and visit Mason's Creamery today. They are closed on Monday's and Tuesday's. P.S. Now that it's winter, I'd love to return to try their winter offerings (ramen, pork dumplings, and Tonkotsu). I heard it's not the best ramen but maybe it's worth a try. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 130/150 total reviews in 2024 - 779 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 11 December 2024

We stopped by Mason's on a whim on a Saturday night. Naturally, there was a line right out the door but it moved quickly. Lots of street parking although we didn't see a designated lot. They have the cutest outdoor seating options with lights strung up. We opted to walk around while we ate but it looks like a great gathering spot for friends or to take a date. They have both dairy and vegan ice cream options. Flavors were very unique. I opted for Butterfinger and Strawberries & Cream. My husband had Butterfinger and White Rabbit Candy. We both got smalls which were very generous 2-scoop servings for $6 each. The value is great. Everything was delicious and they allow you two free samples to try before you buy. We will definitely come back - it's nice to have an alternate option to Mitchell's when we're in Cleveland.

Flavors one day in July 2025.

Ask the Community - Mason's Creamery

Is there a place to eat inside during the winter?

Hi Alex, there is a heated vestibule with limited seating and we also have a heated enclosed tent with additional seating.

Do you still serve the ramen with raclette as seen on DD&D?

Hi Jean! Thank you for asking. We serve ramen in the fall and winter, usually starting around early November, so we do not currently have it. It’ll be back on the menu then. However we plan on doing a ramen pop-up sometime in the next few weeks…

Do you have a large selection of egg-free ice creams, or an easy place to see your info? Our daughter is allergic to eggs and peanuts, and we've found creameries can be tough for her, but we wanted to bring her by to try it while we're in Cleveland!

Hi there! We are currently operating as a ramen shop for the winter until 4/3 when we will be back as an ice cream shop if you’re planning to visit Cleveland soon. Once we switch over, our ice creams are all egg-free (although we do use eggs and…

    Are you closed Sundays now?

No, we're not - usually open 2-10pm summers and 2-9pm in the fall/winter, but today (8/20) the city told us around 4:30pm that they were working on a broken water main and had to shut off water to the shop for 3+ hours, so we had to close short…

As long as it tastes warm and comforting, I'll be fine. And even then, the ramen here exceeded my expectations (in the bad direction). I'm not someone who craves ramen that often but this evening was chilly and I was looking for something broth-y. I figured I would give this shop a try. I was seated very quickly and was able to order within minutes. The price for the miso ramen seemed pretty reasonable, and it's my ramen of choice when I do eat it, so I figured I'd give it a try. I knew it wouldn't be a "traditional" bowl as the toppings listed were definitely out of the norm and mentally I was fine with that. I'm open to nontraditional toppings as long as everything tastes good. As soon as I took a bite, I was severely disappointed. The noodles honestly tasted like the type you get out of an instant noodle pack. The broccoli was hard and definitely not cooked all the way. And the soup had a strange taste that I can't quite describe, but definitely isn't normal for ramen. Again, I'm not a ramen snob--I've eaten lots of bowls of ramen at all sorts of restaurants (albeit in LA) and they've all tasted fine to me. But this was actually inedible. I was starving and had to eat something, so I just picked out all of the noodles and some of the corn and honestly left the rest of it in the bowl. I feel a little bad giving this place such a low rating, as the workers were nice enough, and it's not like I got sick, and maybe their other food is much better. But I really can't give this place a higher rating than I'm giving it because it truly was an inedible bowl of ramen. Sorry, Otani.

There was an abundant amount of toppings including perfectly crispy and spiced tofu, bok choy, broccoli, and corn! The service was amazing. I sat outside as they close the inside to diners about an hour before close and the patio is gorgeous and very clean. The staff brought my bowl out very quickly and were very kind when I asked for a lid after (even though this feels like an annoying ask after you order). I payed $18 for this bowl and got two meals out of it as someone that typically gets 2 meals out of most entrees. It felt like a lot of food for me and was extremely yummy! Only downside is the entrees are typically between $17-20 which is a lot of money for ramen, especially take out without tip. This is the primary reason for me giving it 4 stars, if it was priced around 14/15 I would be here all the time! Milk and non vegan items are very clearly labeled in the drinks and the food. Really good vegan options for ramen and bowls. I tried a bowl my friend got here who is vegetarian and has many allergies and she really enjoys this place as well. Very customizable with entrees. I would highly recommend this to vegans and vegetarians!
