I've always tried to keep myself in good shape, but unfortunately, bad backs run in my family. So when I started to have chronic back problems about 2 years ago, I decided to start investing in deep-tissue and therapeutic massages once every couple of weeks. I went to the local massage school and basically tried everyone that worked there at least once. While the massages felt good, and made me feel better in the short term, one of the things I noticed was that I would often feel worse after the massage than I did beforehand! So I kept looking, hoping that I would find a therapist that not only gave a massage that felt good, but one who actually helped me heal faster and stay healthy well after the massage was over. Finally, I found Greg. Right away I could tell that he was different, because he didn't just treat the problem--he treated the whole body. He worked on my back, of course, but he also worked on my flexibility, my range of motion, my circulation, etc. His massages feel great, and you're very relaxed the whole time (he is very easygoing and friendly). Most importantly, however, you feel much better well after the massage is over. When I started massages with Greg, I was trying to cope with a low level of back pain almost every day, and I couldn't even touch my toes because my muscles were so tight. Now I am pain-free and I can touch my palms all the way to the floor. I'm running faster, I feel stronger, my stress level is down, and I'm much more productive at work. The benefits are well worth the cost, and since Greg is an independent therapist, he can offer great deals anyway! I recommend Greg very highly. If you're currently getting massages from someone else but feel like they could be better, I would recommend that you try Greg instead. Hallelujah!! Greg is the bomb! I recently had some piriformis issues that have sidelined me for over a week. I couldn't even walk more than 50 yards without having to stop from the pain. I saw a couple of other heath professionals that I have had excellent results from in the past that are highly regarded. They helped my issues, but I still had significant discomfort. Greg got me 90% fixed in a single session. I went from wincing upon every step to being nearly pain free in a single session (just a bit of muscle soreness, to be expected). I recently completed some very arduous medical treatments and was badly in need of some soothing relaxation. Greg was perfect today. The salon is right next to the freeway but once inside it is very calming and quiet. The massage table was heated and the linens very very high quality. I went right into a deeply relaxed state. My neck was very stiff. Greg worked it back and forth with just the right balance of pressure and stretching. It loosened up tremendously. I have to say the massage was the deepest I have ever experienced, I'm still a little sore today from the therapy session with significant improvement in my range of motion already. Exactly what I was looking for, I find most massage studios don't go deep or hard enough and don't focus on the muscles that causing the instability. Greg is an amazing massage therapist! I've never been one to be really comfortable with massage until a friend booked me an appointment with Greg...I was hooked after that and have seen amazing benefits since working with him for a year. I've made a commitment to myself to see him every other week and the results have been wonderful. The best one being that he has corrected my waddle (I'm a bit duck footed) and my feet stand straight forward now. Additionally he's helped me a lot with jaw issues that would have cost a lot more to repair through my dentist. Personally, Greg is a great person and I look forward to my sessions each week where I get relaxed and a good laugh in (Greg's a funny guy!). I had a horrible strain in my shoulder/upper back that wasn't going away. Tried heat pads, cold compress, anti-inflammatory medications, lots of rest, etc. Finally I decided I needed to have a professional work out the kinks. Greg was the perfect cure. Professional, strong, gentle and knowledgeable he was able to apply the right pressure and technique to loosen up the muscles and get me back to my usual mobility. A day after the massage the pain was gone and I was able to move my shoulder & neck freely. A friend suggested I go see Greg when I was having issues with back pain and sciatica, and since then I have been a bi-weekly customer for many years. Greg gives a truly therapeutic massage. He has a background in physical therapy and really knows how the body should work, and what to do to get it functioning like it should. He's a very smart guy and used to work at a high level at a job in industry, but struck out on his own to follow his dream and create his own massage practice several years ago. Now he is so popular that it is hard (but not impossible) to get appointments with him! Greg has resolved my back pain and sciatica 100%. I also was advised by a doctor to get surgery for my "tennis elbow" after physical therapy had done nothing, but I luckily thought to ask Greg about it and he resolved the problem within a few months. He really knows his stuff. Even though it is a bit of a splurge for me, I feel that seeing Greg is something I need to do for my health, similar to getting exercise or eating right. It's really difficult to find a massage therapist that has strong hands AND listens to you. I have found that many just do their thing, the way THEY want to do it, and don't listen to a word the customer says. I came across a website: mindbodyparterships where they offer discounts on all sorts of services, such as hair, nails, chiropractic, and massage. I called a few, but many were booked up for a week or more, or took too long to call me back. I left a message for Greg and he called me within the hour. He was really nice and professional over the phone, and I felt comfortable making an appointment with him. When I arrived, Greg greeted me with a smile and had me fill out a form, which he went over with me. He asked what the main reason I was wanting a massage, how I like the pressure, etc. He did EXACTLY what I asked of him, and more! I have been recovering from an accident, and have muscle spasms all over my neck, shoulders and back, so expected much of the massage to be a bit uncomfortable while trying to break up the knots. I called to book the appointment a few days in advance. When I arrived at the office, there was a short one page questionnaire to fill out as Greg introduced himself to me. He was very friendly and made effort to make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. The massage lasted a little under an hour and was very relaxing. The massage room was clean and private. Overall, I was very happy with the way he approached the massage. My problem areas felt a lot better. I work in the Rehabititation field, so I appreciate when someone does a thorough initial consult and end of treatment consult. Greg did both of these. He is very professional and gave me one of the best deep tissue and active release massages ever. He also educated me in some stretches and body awareness at the end of the session. I definitely recommend Greg Lucero for a therapeutic massage. I usually go for a relaxing soft massage and feel good the rest of the day, but my aches come back. Greg is amazing! I had two frozen shoulders from a lot of heavy lifting at work; I had two cortisone shots, weeks of physical therapy . . . all of which did not help it ONE BIT. I was finally referred to an orthopedist who scheduled me for surgery because I could not lift my arm more than about ten inches. AND . . . then a friend at work told me about Greg; she had been tremendously helped by him. After four or five (can't exactly remember) sessions with Greg, I could lift my arm without pain.
