My husband and I were looking for a local massage spot, and I happened to find Josie on Yelp! I had never tried an in-home massage service and so after reading some reviews, she was the first person I'd felt comfortable doing that with, since well, it's always a bit more of a special experience when you invite someone into your home! We did a couples massage, with me going first, and then my husband after. The scheduling process was super smooth - Josie was very thorough with instructions on what to prepare, and she was prompt on her arrival. The massage itself was exactly what both of us needed. I got a pre-natal massage, which I had never gotten before, and she massaged me as I lay on my side using her own prepared cream, helping to relieve my aching muscles. My husband does a lot of active exercise, and also had some tense muscles that needed relief. We both felt much more loose and relaxed afterwards. We liked the experience so much, we took advantage of the special for ongoing regular clients and booked another massage the next month! Again, we went to sleep feeling much more relaxed and loose after the massages. She used lavender oil this time around and that was very soothing. My favorite part, as is the case with almost all massages for me, is the head and neck massage because it just relieves so much pressure. I genuinely feel relaxed in those moments, also because I just feel better overall elevated on my back. Both my husband and I can handle a lot of pressure due to all the knots we want to get worked through (lol) and Josie is thankfully very strong! Now I'm someone who when busy often forgets to pamper or even take care of myself.. in this season of finally getting some R&R time, I realize how important self-care is, and honestly if you've had a bad back and strained neck like I have for most of my life (with bad posture, and staring at computers for hours on end), massages are actually quite important and needed. I just had a massage from Josie yesterday and it was wonderful! I am super pandemic paranoid and I don't leave my house much these days -- no restaurants, supermarkets or gatherings. So I was hesitant to schedule a massage, especially someone coming into my covid-free house, but the alternative of going somewhere for a massage was not an option. I have been having headaches and stiff muscles and thought I would try to find someone safe to come into the house. I found that with Josie. I appreciate all of her protocols to keep us both safe -- I took a shower before my massage, I provided clean sheets and a designated area, and we both wore masks for the whole massage. I also was so happy to hear she had already been vaccinated. All of these things added to my comfort level so that I could truly relax and enjoy the massage. As far as the massage itself, I have to admit I am a massage snob; I have had many in my lifetime and I know a good one from one that is just okay. Josie's massage was among the best I have had; a good amount of pressure but not so much that I was sore afterwards. Made an appointment with Josie for a couples massage for our anniversary as a surprise for the hubby and might i say she was AMAZINGGGGGGG!! The hubby likes deep tissue, but her swedish massage had just enough pressure where she was able to get in there and massage his knots outs. He said he felt brand new lol. I was fortunate enough to meet Josie through a co worker who couldn't say enough good things about her. I called Josie and set up an appointment for her to come to my home for a 90min Massage (Yes! she comes to you) Let me tell you, she works wonders with the different techniques she uses and explains everything so you understand what it helps. I did not tell her where I had pain on purpose because I wanted to put her to the test and see if she was as good as I heard (A pro will find the trouble spots) And let me tell you, she nailed it, found every ache and pain I had. She worked on me for 90min and gave me some good suggestions on simple stretching exercises I could do to help myself out.
