I bought a 12 month ME membership. BAD BAD BAD IDEA. Under NO circumstances buy a ME membership. There are NO benefits to it. AND you cannot QUIT it. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO TALK YOU INTO IT. JUST SAY NO. It is impossible to QUIT, according to the Erik Guerro the manager I spoke with today at another ME, before the 12 months are up. They will charge my CC no matter if I show up or not. WHAT? Yes, that's right. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. NEVER EVER EVER buy a ME membership. DO NOT ALLOW THEM to lecture you or pressure you, JUST SAY NO. The service at MEs is so mixed. When you find a good masseuse or masseur or esthetician they are worth their weight in gold and then they frequently move on to other job opportunities (happy for them) and since they have no access to client info they cannot let you know where and you have to start over to find a good provider again. She is skilled and understands my medical and physical issues and how best to address them through massage. I won't go anywhere else, unless she leaves me, of course. read more

Horrible experience, I was given $100 in gift cards, first visit and first ever massage was great, made an appointment for my second visit and the appointment slipped my mind and was called and I told them I had my schedule wrong, I was instructed since you did not make the appointment I would forfeit the cost no exceptions. I asked can you give me a credit or some type of discount , I was told no. I e-mailed them with no response. They really don't give a crap. Worst ever experience. HONEST BUSINESS AND GREAT PEOPLE. I've been a member here for three years. Some of the other Massage Envy locations in San Antonio that I've tried have been hit or miss, but the Blanco Rd location is consistently fabulous. The therapists are an A+, but I'm not putting the names of the ones I normally see because it's already hard to get on their schedule, and I don't want to make it even harder by posting them on yelp. :) Tthe facility is quiet, clean, they always call me to confirm my appointments the day before, the front desk staff and well spoken and friendly, and on the few occasions when I've had to cancel it wasn't a problem as long as I didn't do it last minute. Overall, great staff, convenient location, and a godsend for relieving stress and maintaining my sanity in a world that seems to be getting more crazy by the day... read more

I've had a membership here since last year and I love it. Ask for Bridgette. She is a god send to all the knots in my back and neck. She does have allergies though so if you want scents used for your lotions, she won't be able too. Trust me though...she has miracle hands. If you choose not to go with Bridgette, for 10.00 more, you can add scents to your lotion or get a sugar foot scrub. Also if you have extras massages you want to give to friends, you can do so for 10.00 as well. read more

Just got a massage by Margat and she was amazing, one of the best massages I've had. It was deep pressure, but still relaxing. I would recommend trying her, they said she was a newer therapist to the location. Customer service was great as well. read more

I had a membership here for just over a year. I canceled only due to the fact I could no longer keep up with coming in monthly so it's cheaper for me to pay elsewhere on an as needed basis. Massages I did get here were great. April was great with deep tissue massage. read more

I was happy they fit me in after the fail with the Terrell Heights location. I went here because I got a gift card and had some free time this weekend. The sales pitch was highly aggressive from the minute I started filling out the paperwork. Trying to up sell me but it's to be expected. Got a very painful elbow massage. I get it, the therapists want to make it easier for them but if I want elbows in my back I would let my toddler do it and pay her in ice cream. I was happy for it to be over and thought I would pay and be on my way. The exit sales pitch was very painful...it extended my stay another 10-15 minutes with the girl finally saying she would call me Monday to "check on me" because I wouldn't agree to their membership. I was trying to be nice because I know it's her job but why would I want you to keep trying to convince about why I need a massage especially by saying "you look tired" "you look uncomfortable" "you look exhausted." Yes, I was at home taking a nap before this, it's Saturday. Update-my back hurts so much worse than when I went and got the massage. read more

I had a ME membership for about 6 years. I kept it because I traveled for awhile and could use it wherever I went. After settling back in San Antonio, I had a hard time finding a good therapist, using monthly massages to try a new therapist to find a therapist that I could use regularly. Some just sucked, massaged too hard, too creepy, too stinky(I actually had one w tummy issues) and she wasn't a bad therapist but the other I couldn't deal with! I eventually had to move on from ME when I had such crappy and rude service from an associate and the manager that I just told them to go f*ck themselves. I had purchased a gift card for my boyfriend. It was several months before he got a chance to use it and when he did I just made two appointments, one for each of us. Before we left I couldn't find the card so I called and they said to go ahead come in (bc they charge $20pp for no shows) so we did. In the waiting room, with no one else there, this associate named ANDREA, told us to our face, without looking anything up "too bad" about the lost card. I called her out asking, So you take my $75 for a massage , give me a card that I saw someone log when it was purchased, and now you are telling me too bad and you haven't even looked it up in the computer. She says "Yep, Sorry, you can use your pre-paids for it!" OMG! NO!! With some pressing, she did pretend to look something up and told me that they had no record of my purchasing a gift card, when I know for a fact that when I purchased the card, the manager had looked up my account!! And they had some sort of paper log they write on when they pull a card from the cabinet! Anyway, we had words and she told us to leave !! This is supposed to be RELAXING?? I called back later, ANDREA, answered the phone. and AGAIN, she was rude and defensive but told me "they" found my gift card purchase but that I was banned from that location!! What a BITCH...She cannot do her job and I get banned for being right.....I'm pissed! Asked to speak to the manager, and this girl had flat out lied, telling her manager that we threatened her in front of other ppl, (both lies!) and that bc of MY behavior I was banned but welcome to go to any other location....(I'm sure it was noted on my account that I was ...something, cuz I did get a look) Just a note, I had been going to the Shertz location for 3 years prior to this and they were AWESOME...and when I went to the Alamo Heights location and they were AWESOME as well!! After all this I called CORPORATE, they weren't much help because these locations are independently owned. I had to go back to that location to get reissued a new gift card fro SARA, the crappy manager. And while there, I left a message for the location owner to call me back, which she said, he wouldn't. I called several times to make sure she gave him the message and she said that she had but he told her that he would not be calling me back!! To say the least, I CANCELLED my membership and I will NEVER go there again! This experience was a slap in the face after being a loyal customer for so many years!! This is one of the worst ran businesses I have experienced in a while but does pay tribute to society in general. There is no more old school mentality that the customer comes first OR that customer service even matters OR that a hands on involvement from managers or owners will come with a smile and a "what can we do to make you happy?" mentality...WHY? Because businesses knows there is another dumb ass around the corner who will use their business and not stand up for themselves!! This was the worst massage I have ever received. When I booked an appointment, I asked for an experienced therapist. The girl on the phone told me the guy specialized in sports medicine. I have some serious knots on my neck that trigger migraines. He didn't even attempt to take them out and kept rubbing my shoulders upwards triggering a migraine. He didn't know what he was doing. He then rubbed my back with his arms, not hands, causing dull back ache. I asked him to stop three times, so he started to pinch my traps. At one point he was shaking my body. The massage on my hands and feet were nice. If you suffer from neck pain and need relief don't come here. read more

This place is amazing. I had severe spasms of my neck and back that kept coming back to the point I couldn't walk or function. With the help of their masseuse, I have significant improvement and am almost pain free. Whenever I notice, it seems to be acting up, Their therapists are able to prevent it from getting worse. Run, do not walk away from this place! Cut-rate massage factory. It is noisy, paper thin wall allow you to hear in others "private conversations and strange noises" room are dirty, freezing cold and I could swear that they did not change the sheets from the "body" before me. Gross! I always got a creepy feeling from the massage therapist as well.....just creepy. Bad customer service, front desk lady not very accomodating, I was telling her my complaints, but was not listening and was yapping with me.

The Blanco Pointe location has very poor customer service. Through their web site, I requested a two hour deep tissue massage. 24 hours later, no one had called to confirm the massage. Receptionist pulled up the email request and said no one had read it - then why have the service if no one reads them?! I asked her for a two hour, deep tissue, which is what I always book. When I arrived for my appointment, only one hour booked instead of two. Also it was only 41 minutes, not 55! I've had back surgeries; work 55 hours each week and I was not happy. Their empty apology and no offer of comping or adding anything to make up for their mistake really ticked me off. In my business, we mess up, we make it up to the client. We are all human and can drop the ball...but they could care less about their customers. read more

What David M. said below is absolutely true. This is because they have over 1,300 clients, and Sarah the manager said they cannot give their customers a courtesy call to ask them if they would like to make an appointment, especially if the client is paying a monthly membership fee and have not used it. After 3 months of not being able to use my membership, they finally called to tell me that they could no longer charge my credit card. I told them I was out of town and very busy and would have appreciated if someone had called me to schedule an appointment and this is when they informed me that they cannot do this but they will gladly charge your card until it rejects. When I asked if I could use my 3 months that I had paid, they said no. They said that I had to pay another membership to use the three months that I did not get to use. Therefore, I lost out all that money that my husband had paid for me as a gift and no massage. I really think its the business culture that encourages them to treat their customers this way. I have never dealt with such inconsiderate and rude front desk, and managers. Sarah and Andrea should be fired! Do not make the same mistakes that we did and I'm sure others too. Read the fine print on the contract, ask them about it, and if they tell you that you can use up your past massages, don't believe them... I would get it in writing but as you can see if it happened to me and others, they are lying. read more
