To be honest, I was a little disappointed. I have so much pain on my upper back and so I decided to give this place a try since it's closer to my home. The receptionist was sooooo kind and nice - she asked me afterwards how my massage was and I told her it was "okay" cause it wasn't on her. My 60 minutes prenatal massage started around 10:10 and the masseuse ended at 10:55. So i lost about 15 minutes of what I paid for. In addition, I told her where I wanted the focus and I told her that I like a deep massage so she can use pressure. During the massage, she asked how was the pressure and I told her she can apply more as it was so soft. But she didn't lol At the end of the massage, she said she felt all my knots but she felt like soft pressure was better for me and the baby that's why she didn't use pressure.... lol at the end of the day, I paid $150 + tips for someone to rub lotion on my back :( read more

I have had a membership since 2022 and on one occasion I did not have a great session, but with communication to management, they corrected this and offered names for my specific needs. My massage therapist Shirley then left for school, but left references for others that massage similar. Since then I have seen Janet and she is amazing at listening and applying the right pressure depending on the tenderness I have. I was also given the name of Vicki, I have not booked with her yet since Janet has always been available at the time I need. I will leave a follow up review for Vicki if I book with her in the future, but I trust Shirley and her recommendations. Management has always been very helpful and resourceful. The front is amazing as well but the one time I did have a bad massage experience, the receptionist was new and I understand she was just trying to help, but again this was addressed and corrected. Overall the staff is very nice. I would just suggest if you are very particular about your massages to speak up and ask for either references or a massage type. read more

THIS IS THE SPOT! After many successful massages with several of their many masses, I became a member and come just about every 10 days. I highly recommend Justin and Sue. They both have worked on me for years and each deserve 10-stars! The price of the massage is worth what you receive especially if you've paid for the same service at a hotel while on vacation, which is easily doubled. Because I come so often, membership makes total sense. With that, you receive a reduced member price for the 60 or 90 minutes massage (go for 90, you're worth it!). Yes, you pay a membership fee each month, but you basically get that back because they give you a free massage in the form of a credit. If you have chronic pain like I do, and will go often, membership makes total sense. Bad reviews on the receptionists must be fake. The lady that did my massage did a great job, however their admins or whoever does their billing are horrible! Here's the issue: My sister got me a massage for my birthday. I like it so much i decided to signed up for their membership and get a massage once a month. Due to my schedule and cutting back on my finances i was not able to go anymore, so i decided to cancel it. I called them and told them i needed to cancel and if I could get a refund for the unused months. They told me they don't give refunds and that I would need to come in and use it. I told them I would like to gift it to family and friends until the credit is used up. They said their would be a $10 fee for gifting the massage. I told them mine was gifted and that's how i became a member. I told them by gifting it, it may help their business gain another member. The person I spoke with agreed and waived the fee. HOWEVER....a month or two later I received a call saying they were not able to charge my autopay and if I had a different cc on file. I told them I canceled my membership. They just told ok thank you we will look into that. A month later my sister called me to see if I got another massage because massage envy billed her cc because they could not charge mine! Now these are two separate accounts, with two different names, why would they charge my sister and still continue to charge me after I canceled twice?!?! Now im was going to go into the building to get this straighten out with then personally only to see the hours on the building is not updated. Building says M-F 8am-10pm, i got here at 9am thinking they opened at 8am. I called and their voice mail said they don't open till 11am!!!‍ Plus when I came months back I had mentioned they shouldn't put their client's files out in the open for the public to see because its a HIPPA violation of privacy. I took photos that clearly shows they don't care about their clients privacy. I am aware that the picture has a lot of glare and reflection, i took it that way to protect their clients privacy, however anybody walking along that business can clearly see their clients files. I'm really disappointed in my experience with my membership and the lack of options available at this location. I had an excellent massage here last year so I signed up for a membership. I think I have only been able to get one other massage here because they never have appointments available in the evenings. I have been going to other locations in the area and that's been working out until recently. I had to get a new credit card due to fraud and that impacted my membership dues. I called and asked if I could update my card on person since I did not feel comfortable doing this over the phone right after dealing with fraud. Apparently I can't do this at another location and I am not driving 40 minutes round trip out of my way to come to this location when I can't even get an appointment. I guess my membership will just lapse eventually and meanwhile I'll be looking for somewhere else to get regular massages. There should be more secure payment options in 2023 AND they should have better appointment availability. read more

It's a Maybe for me that I recommend this business/location.. I've been to a lot of Massage Envy's in Missouri, Idaho, Washington, and now California. This was such a let down. I want to give feedback not a negative comment about my experience at this location. I am not looking for a discount or a free gesture. Maybe tighty up on the smaller details to make the customer's experience better.. I had a 90 min massage at 1230pm. The gal came to get me at 1234pm, started the massage at 1238, and then stopped at 156pm. The massage was mostly just circular pressure with very little "lotion or oil." I wanted a add on of the aromatherapy oil and the gal didn't understand my request due to the communication barrier which is fine.. not a big deal.. she did bring me three options and I was able to pick... Her lotion bottle sounded empty every time she went to use and slapping it against her hand.. that took up unnecessary time. A pump or a bigger bottle would have helped.. Did zero focus on requested areas: feet and hands.. that was my biggest let down.. I was really looking forward to extra time on those targeted areas due to arthritis.. Music stopped in the middle of the massage for almost 30 mins allowing the outside laughing, joking, and singing voices in the "quiet area" loud. The towel cabinet in the room squeaked loudly and would slam while closing it not her fault but some WD40 would fix it. Front desk gals, not sure if they weren't able to "break for lunch" but eating at the counter and while helping customers is not a good look.. otherwise they were helpful and did their sell's pitch.. I feel there's missing communication from the desk to the masseuse. The IPAD is helpful only if they would actually utilize it for the right reasons to make sure the customer is getting what's being requested.. Overall a clean location, friendly staff, and relaxing environment while waiting in the 2nd waiting room. Can't say I'd return to this spot.. the amount of money for a non member is too risky to give it a try again.. hope this is helpful the business owner.. improvements will lead to better customer service. read more

Update 11/6/21: Im updating my previous review from 2 to 4 stars. After my initial massage, the front desk associate (maybe supervisor) called to apologize for the poor service I received. She offered a redo on the house. I went back today to try another gal, Jenny. My massage experience was so much better. She started off really light but after a few verbal requests for a harder touch, I ended up falling asleep on the table. This is what I always hope for, a massage that's deep enough that I feel extremely relaxed that I can doze off. Membership: So, I was all ready to sign up to become a member. I began filling out the paperwork. Good thing I read the fine print. There is an entry phase commitment of one year. You can pause/freeze but will eventually have to continue. After it's month to month, I believe. If you want to cancel during the initial entry 12 month period, you have to have a doctors note listing the reason why you can't commit, you have written confirmation you've moved more than 25-miles away or one other reason. Didn't end up joining but my mind was changed since the first time I went. Original post below. 10/30/21: Do not come here if you're pregnant. I'm 29 weeks pregnant and was looking forward to this massage for a couple of weeks. My husband and I both got massages here. He said his was good but mine was terrible. I was thinking about joining their membership program if mine was decent. But nope!!!! When I called to make the appointments, I asked for a massage therapist that could give us both firm massages. I love feeling the deep tissue type massages as I'm quite athletic and need deeper work done. The gal on the phone made sure she knew I was pregnant AND we wanted therapists that could do deep work for both of us. If they didn't offer firm massages for preggos, then she should have mentioned that over the phone. Fast forward to me on the table. The setup was good. The table was comfortable enough. But the massage was absolutely terrible. If I wanted someone to give me gentle pet-like strokes, I could have stayed home and had my dog or husband do it for me. In the room, I was very vocal about wanting a firm massage MANY TIMES. I asked my masseuse to press harder, that she wasn't going to break me. I told her that I wanted a firm massage. She said if I wasn't pregnant it would be different. WTF!!!! I've had a couple pregnancy massages and they all were fine. But this lady literally denied me what I wanted. Why the hell didn't they tell us over the phone they don't give firm massages to pregnant women?!?! So, for the whole damn hour I was miserable, upset, and tense going over in my head what I would tell the front desk associate. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT A PREGNANCY MASSAGE!!! Go to Burke Williams instead. It's pricey, but it's worth it. Plus you can lounge around for a bit dipping your feet into the hot tub or spend a few in the steam room. Also, if you join their membership, I think pregnancy massages go down to $108 or something? Anyway, shitty experience. Massage envy Milpitas is a place where they scam customers. Save your money and stay away from this place. They offer a plan where you pay $85 per month for a massage as a member . You can also have your family members come for a massage for a reduced cost. However in actuality they don't honor what you sign up for. They gave this offer and also booked an appointment for my daughter and then asked her to pay full non member price of $145! I am a member and instead of giving her the reduced member price they forced her to pay full price. They booked an appointment 2 months back in June for her saying she will be paying a reduced member fee, as store credit. On the day of- they changed their policy! Do not support this business! The only reason I would come to this massage Envy is to see Wendy. She is very professional and is able to really help my back problem- I have light scoliosis. Every time I would walk out, my back felt so much better so thank you to Wendy. I have been coming to them for several years now, however won't be coming back due to several issues with the front desk staff over the years. Sometimes I lose my debit card due to being very forgetful, so I have to call my bank and order a new card. Naturally I forget to update my card and my account will be suspended even though I have paid for credits accumulated. I tell them it's no problem I can just update it with my new one. One time I booked a massage only to find out after the massage that the account was suspended even though the massage was paid for and I have accumulated credits. She wanted to charge me the non member price that day, even though my massage was paid for. I can't really process that. I made my home location another massage envy due to other issues with them in the past. There is zero connection to other massage envy's if there is an issue with the account they make it a huge deal and make it seem like your broke and can't pay when that's not the case. Today, for the first time ever forgot to come in for my massage ( mind you I have been coming here for years). I told them I could not come in, it was already way past my appoitment time anyways. They had zero issues taking my $85 hard earned dollars and told me to have a good day with a fake tone. I'm not sure why they let teenagers run a whole establishment and deal with other people's money. I'm trying pretty hard not to make it an even longer rant. My advise is to go some place else where they actually value you as a long time customer. The teenagers here don't care how your massage was anyways. read more

I love this place. I walk in, always greeted by someone. The past few times, an Emma has greeted me. She's amazing and ridiculously sweet. I haven't even gotten my massage yet, and I'm feeling great. I can tell she's smiling behind the mask. She's always friendly, and she greets and treats anyone on the phone or in person with way more respect than I'm accustomed to, these days. Once you get over Emma's bubbly, refreshing personality, you get to the massage. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to massages. I've found that most masseuses tend to follow a specific massage structure, regardless of the consultation you had with them. I get it; routines can be difficult to break. This location is no exception. But, this isn't a bad review: every now and again, you come across a quality, quality masseuse. I hesitate to say his name, because I don't want him to become overbooked, but it must be done: Ralph. Ralph is a great masseuse. He listens and gives many advices. One thing I really appreciate about him is when he comes across an area that seems to need a lot of work... get this... he'll stick around that area and do the necessary work. Most times, I've noticed others will feel around, put a bit of pressure, and then move along with their routine. Not this guy. Really gets down in the weeds (but consistently checks in to make sure he isn't going overboard). My therapist was Christine and I can say I left feeling sooooo much better. She made me feel comfortable, relaxed, she focused on the areas I had most pain. Update: I want to share my experience with Nancy, in case that helps anyone. Every masseuse has their own style and I like to read reviews to help choose the right person for me. Nancy was great, but I know her style will be kind of polarizing. I came in with sore neck, shoulders and hips. My hips feel much better, my right shoulder feels like a million bucks, but my neck and left shoulder still a little sore. If you book her, show up early and give yourself ample times to get your service. I came about 10 minutes late, which is totally on me. She still did her best to squeeze in as much time as I could get, even with an appointment right after me. I so appreciate that! If you're looking for a relaxing massage, she's probably not right for you. She comes in and attacks your sore muscles hard. It feels a little more like a chiropractor or physical therapy session. She sensed that I was having a hard time initially and gave me a towel to squeeze lol. She's also a talker. Not my preference, but I think the positives all outweigh that. Hopefully this helps someone else make a decision. The app will only tell you what pressures a therapist uses. I like to have more context and Yelp has helped me find that so many times. read more

This place is no bueno. I decided to take my husband here for a couple's massage to celebrate his birthday. When we got here, their front desk people pressured us into getting a membership. They kept asking us to join and I felt almost uncomfortable about it all. It was one of those moments where my mind thought one thing but my body did another. We ended up joining for six months. When I left, I felt total buyer's remorse. Granted, it was my fault for being suckered into joining but wasn't used to being cornered into doing something. The massages here were okay. I wouldn't say that they are phenomenal. I had a couple of massages in which I felt even more ache afterwards because the therapist gave me too deep of a massage. Here are some tips in case you do end up joining here: Tipping the right amount is very important. I was kind of a novice about getting massages in general. I never had one before so I didn't know what protocol was in terms of tipping. I figured giving about 15% was good enough but apparently it isn't. The front desk person stared me down when I gave them the 15% tip and she said, "that's it?" rolled her eyes at me. I was horrified because I didn't know how much to give and was shamed into feeling the need to give more. When you decide not to renew your contract, make sure you follow up with them. They were really incompetent about canceling my contract. I had faxed a form to cancel our membership and the receptionist said it was received but I was billed the following month. Unfortunately, they don't refund so we were stuck with another month of membership. Just make sure you do all the foot work in case they don't follow through. read more

Massage envy has locations all over the Bay Area... all over the United States actually but, I ended up going with another girlfriend to the Milpitas location. Though I have nothing to compare it to, it was nice enough, and quite relaxing. The staff was very friendly and my massage therapist was very skilled. I had my first massage at Massage Envy this weekend, and it exceeded all my expectations. I used to get weekly chair massages at work from a great massage therapist, but that service was terminated by management... And I used to get excellent therapeutic massages in Los Gatos, but I couldn't afford to spend $120-$200 on a regular basis... Its been over a year since I've had a massage... and then a friend gave me a gift certificate to Massage Envy. The front lobby was nice, clean, soothing music. I was greeted by a staff person at the front desk. He was pleasant enough, and gave me some forms to fill out (about allergies, and any specific areas for the massage therapist to pay attention to, or avoid). He told me that my massage therapist, Ron, would be out momentarily. I waited about 10 more minutes, and then was greeted by Ron. I had read in the binder on the coffee table earlier that Ron specialized in Swedish massage. I've experienced that style and like that style. Ron appeared a little older than other massage therapists I'd had, but he greeted me warmly, with a firm handshake. He showed me to the room and left so I could get undressed and under the sheet on the table. He knocked on the door and came in after I acknowledged that it was okay. Ron proceeded to tell me what he was going to do. He described the specially formulated massage oil that is unscented, no animal products, and not oily. Then he began the massage. Ron is an experienced massage therapist. He is also tall and has strong hands, and seemed to know exactly how much pressure to use. He asked me if I wanted more pressure, but I told him no, his pressure was fine... All too soon, the 50 minute massage was over, and it was time to get dressed. I was surprised as I got dressed that my skin did not feel oily like I have experienced with other massage therapists. Instead, my skin felt clean and hydrated, but I didn't have to worry about oil getting on my clothes. And my back, arms and legs all felt amazingly relaxed and soothed. The gift certificate required us to go to that particular location, but its not the most convenient location for us. I am much more likely now to be willing to try another Massage Envy location after such a great first experience. But I will likely go back and ask for Ron! read more

Last week I needed to get a massage ASAP. Thankfully, I was able to get in the same day for the time slot I requested. The receptionist was very helpful and she chose the massage therapist for me, as I had no preference. Dexter was my massage therapist and I have to say it was one of the best massages I've ever had. Because of work as a hair stylist and a new hobby of throwing clay on a pottery wheel my back was really tense, and was very uncomfortable, and I had a migraine too. I had a massage here and no problem with the service but whats bothering me is their admin that after several appts I want to try some accupunture cause I was a stroke patient . I went to this establishment without any endorsment from my doctor cause I want my body to feel relaxed. I asked for their membership fees and questions I asked before signing was can I cancel it anytime ? She answered me yes . Can I cancel anytime? She answered me yes. So I signed up. After several appts I had massage like 2 or 3 times a month, and for 3 months or 2 couldnt remember I want to try accupuncture. On my last massage, I informed them that I am canceling my membership and the lady in the front desk said you are all set. I have cancelled your membership and you are good to go. So confident that they cancelled my membership I dont look at my statement monthly . I received a text from them after a month that I am qualified for a massage It says that my membership fees is now being processed.
