This place is straight bullshit!! I was a member in 2015. I had a no show appt due to a family emergency. The previous owner wouldn't give me a refund but offered me an hour on my account. Since then I've moved and haven't been able to use this "hour" I was given on my account. Now that I'm in town I would've liked to use this hour but it's not in my account. The new owner said that there is nothing he can do about it since there wasn't a note on my account. Prior to that, his staff member Viviana states that she saw the note on my account and that she needs to get in contact with the owner. I called back after an hour and she had the manager speak to me. The manager said that there was no notes on my account. So obviously someone is lying!! They had the owner call me and basically said he can't do shit. Don't come here and get a membership cause it's a waste of money!! My lawyer will be in contact with the owner really soon!! read more

I have been coming to this Massage envy for over 2 years so this review is way overdue. The front staff are very friendly and even call to remind you of your upcoming appointment which is very helpful since I often forget to put the appointment in my calender. I have tried almost all of the massage therapist but now I have found my favorite and her name is Shirley. Shirley is absolutely amazing. I work at a desk all day like many others and I get lower back and neck pain. During my 90 minute massage Shirley works her magic. Her pressure and technique is firm and complete she doesnt miss a sore muscle. Her sport style massage also gives my muscles a much needed stretch. I definetly recommend her and this massage envy. The Therapist are very popular so try and Book atlest 1-2 weeks in advance it is worth it! read more

I just cancelled my membership today and as you can see I have given them two 5 star reviews prior. I was honestly appalled that they charged me for an appointment rescheduled last week to this Monday or Tuesday as there was a confusion for me between the two days but I didn't really care as I knew they would call me the day prior as they have for the previous 4 years I have been a member with massage envy but guess what? They didn't and guess what they had the audacity to charge me and tell me "it is not our job to remind you of your appointment" are you kidding me? I bought my father a gift certificate for here that covered a 1-hr deep tissue massage and tip and gave it to him for his birthday. My transaction was simple enough but when I asked him a month later after he went how the massage went, he ended up going off on a rant about it. They mislead him about the membership. He was under the impression that each time he goes, he will be charged 59$ instead of every month, they would be charged monthly. They started to charge him on the credit card he used to book the appointment so it was a bit of a shady situation since he had used a gift card to pay for his first visit. Then, when he called them to clear up the misunderstanding, they tell them they are not authorized to make a refund and only the manager could. He calls them three times to clear this up and they give him the same spiel without trying to work with him. My father finally had to call the bank to fix this up. This particular location is terrible. I wouldn't even come here even if its free. ZERO STARS 1) The employees are overworked and they are not getting paid hourly. Don't expect them to love what they do or care about making you feel better. The business avoid making employees permanent workers so that they can't get health benefits. SoOo... here's my long awaited update! Nick 3x?: He has an interesting sweeping technique, that at points were spot on, and at others.. not so much. Overall I rather enjoy his massages as his pressure is nice and firm and the sequence is thorough. I appreciate the fact that he goes over my requested areas in depth, could also study up on caution areas. Style: medium-deep. Nina 1x: Also an NHI grad. I booked an 1 1/2hr massage, and was face down the entire time when I specifically said full body. =/ In any case, her small hands provide for more of a lighter/medium touch but pressure points are nice and deep. Personally, not my style but the bf likes her technique so yeah. Style light-firm. Edward 1x: Thanks to the suggestion of the owner Jeff, I have a new favorite =) We did 1 hr focus work along the upper back and neck area which felt fantastic! Nice deep and slow work, I recognized different techniques, including MFT. Even when briefly touching base with the rest of my body his technique was awesome. Also an NHI grad, I can't wait to come back to him. Too bad he's mostly in the day... Style light-deep. So I've had Jodi and Hiroshi again as well. I stand by my last review of Jodi, nice gentle, but firm touch. Hiroshi gets better after the initial visit as he seems more comfortable in his skin. This place is horrible. Michael as a manager should be demoted to doing laundry and not talk to clients!!!!! He has the worst customer service I've even seen, or dealt with for that matter. I wanted to cancel my membership because of horrible therapists time and time again. My last one didn't know what the heck she was doing, talked the whole time, was very unsure of herself, didn't apply any pressure (my cat walks on my back with more pressure then this chick did, pathetic!!!), she didn't even finish doing a complete job. The clock hit one hour and she stopped, didn't even touch my other shoulder, her time management sucked!! And trying to cancel your membership. HA forget about it! They take is so personal. They cancel your autopay (thank goodness they did that right), but after Micheal just hung up. Did not explain anything about my saved prepaids. Just hung up! RUDE!!! So just so you all know. When you cancel you have 30 days to use up all of your prepaid hours or you have to fight tooth and nail to get them back and sign up for more months! Let me preface this review by saying that I used to be a former member for about a year and actually enjoyed my time. However, I found a clinic closer to my home, which is why I canceled. I went on a business trip to Northern California back in January and decided to visit this Milpitas clinic. Had no problem with the service. Soon after, I started to receive email promotions trying to get me to come back. Earlier this month, I received the following email: "It's your birthday and we want to help you celebrate with the gift of relaxation. Bring in this letter during the month of your birthday and receive a complimentary half hour upgrade on your next massage session." The letter provided the clinic's phone number and requested that I call to schedule my next appointment. I knew I was going back to Northern California in April and decided to take them up on the offer. I called and requested a massage and was told that this "Birthday Gift" was sent in error and it was meant for members. "Hey happy birthday, here's your gift! Oh wait... sorry, I didn't really mean to send you that. My bad!" Interesting way of doing business. Nevertheless, if you received an email from them and are not a member, chances are that the coupon does not apply to you. I look to massage for the muscle therapy because I carry stress in my neck and shoulders. I have had professional massages such as The Massage Therapy Center in Los Angeles. My massage envy membership was a bait-and-switch. I signed on because I liked my first massage with Nick. Nick is skilled with muscle groups probably due to his prior apprenticeship with a chiropracter. When I booked my second massage and $360+ later, I find that Nick no longer works there. The next 3 or 4 massages with other people were average or really bad. I ended one after 20 min. even after I tried to provide feedback. The reason I write though, is for my most recent massage. The person did a deep tissue for me but somehow it was quite painful. I told him that it was hurting from my skin; not the getting-kinks-out-of-muscle pain. I woke up this morning pretty sore. I think a bad massage can do some harm so I'd be careful here since the skill level seems amateur. I have been persistent about trying to end my membership because I am not a happy camper and everything is below what I expected. I even tried the Mountain View location and then was told the massage was cancelled when I showed up. I wasn't even offered an available replacement since I was already there! I just want my unused months back (~$150). All I get are endless credits for more mediocre experiences. The endless massage credits are a losing ROI from the company's standpoint and since my issue has not been regarded by management at all this whole time- the only avenue I am left with is to share my negative experience online. Looks like Nick is no longer here. However, I've been having great massages still with Nina, Michael, and Brandon. Nina's deep tissue massage was so excellent that I was knocked out by the end of it! This has only happened one other time. Michael is probably the strongest masseuse I've ever had, but he does great massages and really gets those knots out. Brandon, who is new to this location, is good and his technique reminds me a lot like Nick. With more practice, he can only get better. Desiree, no surprise, is awesome. I have to start by saying that I didn't get a massage here and that this review is for their customer service in regards to appointments than their massages. I overslept and missed my appointment, which I completely understand is my fault--not what I'm complaining about. I got a call from the staff and I explained that I overslept because of work and tried to reschedule. Okay, fine, I get it, my fault for missing the appointment--but the woman I spoke to was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. I work in customer service so I understand that my customers are the only thing keeping my doors open. This woman didn't seem to understand that. She told me that I was still going to be charged for the massage I missed (which, by the way, was NEVER explained to me; if it had been I would have gone somewhere else) and when I asked if I could resechedule she was hostile and clearly didn't want to deal with helping me. I then told her that I was going to take my business somewhere else and she responded with "okay, bye" and hung up. I don't know about you, but this is awful customer service. I am going to tell everyone I know not to go to this Massage Envy (and probably all of them if this is the kind of service they tell their staff to provide). I don't normally complain about service because I understand what it's like to be on the other side and having to follow your company's policies--but this woman didn't even try to explain anything to me, didn't try to reschedule me, and frankly, sounded like she didn't even want to be doing her job. Yes, I come here. What's it to you? First off, this is not a place to get a frilly massage. This is pretty much a cut and dry place. I have a regular masseuse. I've been to the Campbell Massage Envy but I didn't like the girl who massaged me. She was harsh and kind of rude. After that, I had to go back to Milpitas. I always seem to fall asleep. Updated Review: I originally posted a poor 1 star review for Milpitas, Massage Envy on 2/23/2015, which prompted the manager to contact me. And I must say, kudos to Jeff for doing so. In my original review I was upset with the fact that my masseuse didn't really listen to my needs for lower back attention during a 21 day fast and detox that was killing my lower back. And I was so frustrated with the massage and my pain that I never contacted management to rectify the issue before writing my review. So, here's the update... When Jeff contacted me he asked if I would call him to discuss my problem. When I explained my situation he expressed his concern and a desire to make the wrong right. He suggested I come into the spa on a day he was in his office, which I did, and he set me up with an amazing masseuse. (I think her name was Sue). And she was exactly what I needed. Afterward Jeff and I chatted. He's a real down to earth guy who is eager to fix an issue immediately - which is commendable. Long story short, I will be going to this Massage Envy since it's near my home and I am a member. I've been to many massage places, high end $120 per appointment to the local $19.99 foot massage places. The therapists I've had we're decent. Their environment and ambiance were fine. What I think bothers me and many of the customers here is the customer service and annoying membership policies. Not to go into a long diatribe. I wound up getting frustrated at dealing with their policies/membership - this is not the mindset I want to be in when I want to go a place to try to relax and relieve stress. I like massages and if you're looking for an inexpensive one go to Massage Envy BUT, I repeat BUT, don't sign up for a membership especially at this location. Out of the 4 massage therapists I had, I only liked one. I don't like therapist that is busy with their cellphones during a session nor one that talks a lot about their personal issues, not even if we're friends. I've had enough by my 7th months so I asked to cancel my membership. I was told that I need to talk to the owner to do this. I was ecstatic at the mere chance of the opportunity to do so. Their customer service was slowly creeping up a notch. I gave the front desk my contact info. I waited and waited. Next appointment...I went to Vacaville! The therapist was great. Once again I contacted Milpitas to cancel and was given the same shpill, talk to the owner. Great! I finally got a hold of the owner and he told me that he left me a message. Sure, he did. NOT! I cancelled my membership after being told that if I wasn't happy I should have told him sooner so that he could have remedied the situation. He said give it one more try with two of his favorite therapist. I said I'll try. The owner forgot to mention that I only have 30 days from when I cancel to use my remaining credits...4 total. It's been more than 30 days and now my account is in a Standing or Locked. In order to use the credits I will have to sign up for a pre-paid membership. I became a member of this chain because 1. It's convenient, 2. It's CHEAP and 3. It's clean. As much as I LOVE BW, a girl can only indulge so many times a year. Yesterday, I booked 2 massages for an hour and 1/2 each. Upon arriving, the receptionist was very friendly, helpful and warm. She remembered our phone conversation which I greatly appreciated. I had my massage with Nick and unfortunately, it turned out to be the one of the worst massages I have ever received. He was very nice and had good customer service skills but I felt his experience as a MT was lacking. I felt like his techniques were taken right out of massage therapy school. At one point during the massage I felt him scratching me, sticking his fingers in my ear and saying, "I don't know what else to do." There were times during my massage that I wanted to cry "Please BW, save me!" I've had numerous massages over the years and can understand when a tech is inexperienced. This time around, not only did I have to endure an awful massage but it ended 1/2 early! There seemed to be some sort of miscommunication b/t the staff. I told the receptionist about what had happened and she was apologetic and understanding. She said that he could continue the remainder of the massage if I would like. However, after what I had just experienced, I opted to decline. No other compensation was offered. I would have appreciated having the manager on hand to speak to privately without the MTs around. It is unprofessional and creates an uncomfortable environment when technicians are lounging around the area. My friend however, immensely enjoy her massage with Nina. She said that it was one of the best massages she has ever received. I, myself, have seen Jocelyn on several occasions and she is wonderful as well! Desiree please find a better place to displace your anger. I've been a member of Massage Envy for atleast 1 year now. I've been to many locations from Washington to Redondo Beach in southern Cali to Fresno and every one in between. I've had many bad massages as well as good massages but I have never encountered such an unprofessional and inexperienced staff as I have at the Milpitas Massage Envy. Ive been to the Milpitas Massage Envy before and have had no problems in the past. This new "manager" named Desiree is very inexperienced when it comes to customer service. This is why my family and friends will never come and I will never recommend this location. I can deal with a bad massage(I've come to expect it now and then from all Massage Envy locations) but what I can't deal with or understand is bad service coming from a "manager". Why would want to start an arguement with a customer/client. I guess she's on a power trip. I'm sure the kids who work there are always misbehaving and stressing her out. I guess she decided to take it out on me. If you like being abused then come here, I'm sure Desiree will make you feel right at home. My husband and I came in for our appt. at 8:30pm Friday night for a couple's massage. My Massage Therapist was Zemmy (sp?) and sorry to say but I got the lousiest massage in my life! (This is nothing personal and she seems nice but she has no skills to do massages.) We talked about working on my upper body but she literally just worked on my neck and shoulders almost the entire time and to top it off, she was SITTING DOWN. I understand if I was laying on my back and she needed to sit down to massage my neck BUT I was on my stomach. And when I said shoulder area, I meant just below the neck - she didn't even massage my shoulder blades. She didn't work on my lower back. She seemed too tired to work and too lazy. YEs, it was a VERY LOUSY massage!! There was no pressure even though I said I wanted stronger pressure after she asked. My teenage daughter could have done a better job for free. She didn't massage my legs. She just ran her hands on my legs but with the covers still on them and for only under a minute each leg, that's it. And to top it off, we didn't get the whole hour - the session was cut short about 10 mins. Not that it mattered to me since she was barely doing anything anyway. I don't think I will ever go back to Massage Envy in Milpitas and thank goodness the lady at the front desk didn't talk to us about getting a membership. I had very very lousy massage by Zemy. She needs so much more school and I felt as if she didn't apply any pressure at all the entire time. When I called to schedule an appointment (first time there) the owner Jeff said Zemy was very good. I was VERY detailed with him on the phone before I scheduled and what my needs were. I wanted DEEP TISSUE and someone very experienced. Jeff bragged he has a lot of 49ers that come there (like that would sell me on coming there -). He just wanted to fill a spot in the schedule. Jeff, you need to know your massage therapists well and just not fill a spot. Just a list of all things gone wrong: -Booked an hour and a half massage session and only received an hour. -When I walked in I felt like I was intruding, as no one greeted me and just stared. -The front desk was not helpful, unpleasant, and very unprofessional as they only spoke with one another. -Found out that the Manager took my appointment over the phone and she was the one who booked it incorrectly. The only pleasant experience was the Massage. Jocelyn, was my therapist and I wish I could have given her the $49 dollars instead of paying the clinic for their horrible customer service before and after my massage. It was their first day open and I was their very first customer. The staff was very nice and the owner even took a few minutes to chat with me and thank me for my visit. After filling out some forms, I was seen right away and received a nice massage from a nice girl. Very relaxing but did not go the full hour. Once I was done, they offered me water and told me about how the monthly membership works. Not a bad deal if you are into getting a massage frequently. My only complaint was the price. Although the radio add AND the website (http://www.massageenvy.com/) both said the cost was $39 for first time visits, I was charged $49. Not a big deal, but I did not appreciate the "bait and switch" tactics. When I asked about the price, the lady behind the counter said that those rates did not pertain to this location. I had no trouble booking a massage right away, the office was nice, and the person booking me was fine. However, my massage with Jason sucked. It was so light that it felt as if I had never been massaged at all. Beforehand I indicated my preference for deep tissue work, so communication was not the issue. As I was checking out, a female customer was complaining that her massage was too much. Maybe if we had traded, we'd both have been happier. I signed up for the membership, however, which commits me to six 50-minute massages at $59 each (not including tip) at a rate of one per month. If you miss a month, your massage accrues so you don't lose it. The catch is if you want to cancel after 6 massages, you must notify them 30 days in advance or else the contract automatically renews. Also, you are not locked into getting massages at the location where you signed up, you can get them at any location in the franchise. read more

5 stars for the masseuse Zemy! 3 stars for the unprofessional staff. Zemy makes you feel comfortable and at ease when you're naked and vulnerable underneath their thin blankets, lol. She asks where you want to be worked on the most, and she will listen and my request is her command. Magical hands, her face massage is the best. Highly recommend this sweet little girl with magical hands. It's like she knows where "the spot" is. The front desk people sometimes don't greet their clients as we walk in, and I think that's kinda rude. Anyway! Who cares about the front desk, it's all about their massage anyway! Personally, I didn't have a good experience here. Jessica, the front desk receptionist was not the friendliest over the phone. Then, when I came in, she was a little bit better until the very end when she was VERY pushy for me to sign up for a plan. Also, I asked her to put the tip for the therapist on my flex card and she forgot! The therapist was friendly and helped me stretch as well as showed me how to stretch myself before and after running....though he talked the WHOLE WAY through. I wish that they would ask if the person appreciates having a conversation before they start... TOO MUCH YAPPING! Also, they didn't give any post-massage instructions, such as make sure to hydrate and your tension zones are x,y,z...etc. Basically, upon exiting, I got an OK massage but didn't feel relaxed at all. I am only writing a personal review to the massage therapist Justin and Wendy. We have signed up for the monthly memberships. I see Justin and my husband sees Wendy on our monthly sessions. These two massage therapist listen to your needs and the needs of your body. They are completely respectful and I would recommend them to anyone. When leaving their massage sessions, you feel completely relaxed and energized at the same time. Almost as walking on air, your body feels like it can breath again. It is the massage therapist that make the place. If I were to rate the staff, I do not think that I could even give them a 1. They are very pressuring to get you to sign a membership. They never know how to work the computer without help from another staff member. They had even lost my membership at one point in time and had to re register me again. read more

I was in need of a massage and didn't have the time to go to Burke's like I normally do, so I decided to try this place. I was a bit skeptical given the mixed reviews, but I decided to try it anyway. The receptionists were very nice and one was extremely bubbly. We even had a great conversation after I filled out the paper work. The facility is very, very clean. During my conversation with the receptionist who went over my paper work, I mentioned to her my workout regimen. So as I was waiting for my massage, she had a sport massage therapist, Bryan, come over and chat with me a bit. I thought that was pretty great because I was able to discuss some issues that I was experiencing during and after my workouts. Shortly after, I was introduced to my masseuse, Dominque. She was awesome and incredible. I have got a really great massage from her and she was very, very nice. Always asking if I'm doing okay and her voice is so soft and relaxing too. Although I didn't sign up for a membership, I would definitely come here again whenever I cannot get to Burke's and I would like to try Bryan, the sport massage therapist because of my workout regimen. :) read more

UPDATE: I've been meaning to update this review since my conversation with the Owner Jeff, however, I was on vacation and now I'm back into gear. After the unfortunate incident below, Jeff gave me a call to follow up on the situation and provided me with a solution. Since I've been a long time member, he provided me with points to make up for the difference of the hour massage and he also confirmed that he would talk to the manager about how she handled the situation. I'm updating my stars and my review because the only reason why I gave such a harsh review and 1 star, was because I felt that the manager did not want to provide a solution and didn't know how to handle the situation. I'm very satisfied with ME therapist and I would never rate them below a 4; Maureen and Wendy are HANDS down the best! They always MAKE ME feel refreshed and loosen up all my tense muscles. If you're looking for therapists, Wendy is always booked, so you should def book in advance with her. Maureen is also a great therapist! I really appreciate your effort and concerns. *** I've been a member of ME for few years now and I have never had a problem with their service or customer relations. Recently, I was out of town and I pre-booked an appointment, which I was trying to cancel the day before but could not get through. I should have left a message, but I thought, if I called in first thing in the morning, everything would be OK. What I thought would be OK, I spoke with a customer service rep who told me she would talk to the Owner, Jeff, to get this cleared away. I thought things would be OK. I just called in to book a new appointment and asked them for my remaining hours and my last appointment. To my surprise, ME charged me for the massage that I thought would have been cancelled. The manager on site, "Ayla", told me that per the worknotes, the customer service rep had a discussion with the Owner and the Owner decided to charge me anyway. I thought, why wouldn't he have called me as a courtesy since I was trying to give notice, as soon, as I could. Then she reminded me that the Therapist had lost money that day since I did not show up, but I told her, that obviously you guys decided to charge me anyway. I asked if I could speak to a manager, when once again, she reminded me she was the manager on shift. So I asked her that I would like to cancel my membership because this service is not what I signed up for. She told me that she would tell Jeff to call me. Then CLICK. I was livid, I was about to say something when she decided that the conversation was over. I called back immediately, and it went to voicemail. So I called back again, and Robert picked up. I asked him when Jeff would be in and that i would like to talk to Jeff since the manager on shift, decided that she didn't want to finish our conversation. I am more livid that their customer service sucks. The price for a massage is fairly manageable however, I would pay more to deal with decent customer service people. I will provide an update once I speak with Jeff, I'm assuming that, "Ayla" will let him know about this argumentive client who wants to cancel her membership and will probably forget to mention that she hung up the phone before making sure our conversation was done. read more

I called to scheduled couples massage for my husband and I. Was on the phone with Owner & was able to make an appt. that same day. Upon arriving my husband's appointment was missing. The owner booked us for next available appt which was 5 days later but upgraded us to aroma therapy. When we arrived for that appt. the receptionist couldn't find my husbands paperwork & tried to charge us for the aroma therapy. This was my husband's first time here & he wasn't impressed. He felt rushed by the receptionist, not a very good amtosphere and welcoming to feel relaxed and have massage. I think they have to work on their communication and organization. read more

I was concerned about a new pain in my leg and neck and scheduled a same day appointment at this location. I was a new client, and so able to get the introductory rate of $49.00 for a 50 minute massage. Scheduling and intake was a breeze. I was paired with Sheila, to whom I described my pain. Through description alone, she was able to surmise that the pain in my leg resulted from my sitting on the edge of my chair at work, which was indeed the truth! For whatever reason, during that past week, I had sat in that manner, and didn't consciously link it to the pain. Shortly after the massage began, she identified the tight muscles that were contributing to the pain and performed some trigger point therapy to release them. She also honed in on similar points on my neck and upper back. While she spent a large amount of time on the problem spots, she still managed her time well to cover the whole body during our session. After the massage, she demonstrated some stretches that I could do to keep the muscles in my neck loose. By the next day, all of my pain was gone. If you want a no-frills massage place, go to massage envy. the ambience is okay - nothing fancy, but comfortable enough to feel relaxed. i got a swedish massage and it was very very good! i paid the introductory price of $49, which was awesome! when it was over, the front desk people did mention the package special. they weren't pushy, which was good because i was not planning on signing up. there was no pressure to purchase. read more

Just left from having a prenatal massage done and it was amazing. Sue was my massage therapist and she was very professional and held great conversation when I asked her questions. I will be returning back before my pregnancy ends and most definitely after labor! Thank you sue for a wonderful massage!!! read more

Positive: Great intro rates of $49 It was clean Negatives: To book an appointment they charge your card over the phone The front desk staff is horrible!!!! So rude, cant take 2 seconds to answer a question Staff was LOUD in hallway while getting a massage and trying to relax I had to wait 20 minutes for my MT to put me in a room when I was on time The receptionist was talking on the phone with someone, stuffing her face and using her greasy fingers to take my cash tip, hopefully my MT got the money DRIVE TO MORGAN HILL, this massage envy is flea market status people read more
