I go here mainly because it's walking distance from my place. It's clean, service is great and the people are legit. I have a regular masseuse, Stephanie, she's awesome. I get migraines and headaches quite often but it seems like the massages are helping, or I'm less stressed. Either way, Steph manages to work out my knots in my shoulders and leg. She really does a great deep tissue massage. I didn't say it would be painless, esp. if you're all tense but you feel good afterwards. Before Stephanie though, there was Lizette. She is good when she has the energy. She has a pretty firm pressure but can lighten up. She changed her schedule to work weekdays though. read more

Really pathetic front desk service. The so-called manager Cay can't get her team together to process and update payment information on the client records. She keeps giving excuses that her team is new and hence the inconsistency in services such as updating accounts, booking appointments, etc. How hard is it to update the customer account properly the first time around with the correct payment information so that we can make our appointments online as well?! The massage therapist is fantastic, but unfortunately got to deal with a forgetful, incompetent front desk group. The manager Cay was arguing and talking back like a kid rather than handling the situation maturely. This place needs a more mature competent manager. read more

If I could give this Massage Envy less than 1 star , I would. Impossible to get an appointment when you need one. They lie and say they leave a courtesy reminder call but don't. Then if you're a member and you miss that appointment, they still charge you for it! They did this twice to me at a rate of $130!!! They even said I was there when I wasn't! I've had my membership at Massage Envy for almost 6 months and I must say, I LOVE it! I used to pay hundreds of dollars for massages, but when the economy turned sour I had to give up some luxuries. Fortunately, Massage Envy is quite reasonable, but they don't skimp on the quality of the massages. It was a win-win situation for me. Whenever I book my massage, I make sure I get Almond. She is amazing! With the exception of the massage I got in LA, she is probably the best masseuse that has worked all my knots away. She's very professional and knows what she's doing! She has strong, firm pressure that really works the problem area. Recently I tried the 90-minute hot stone massage and it was worth every penny I paid. My husband and I we're scheduled for a 90 minute massage, and I got a call this morning that the therapist was running late and my time was being cut down to 30mins. I was upset because I had scheduled this time a month ahead, and I also made other appointments. I don't think it's fair that they are cutting my massage time, my husband works almost every weekend and I scheduled this time because I know he was s not working. And this is not the first time our time was moved and at that time I was okay with it. They were offering me 30 mins free, that's not what I'm after. I reserved my time and I plan my weekends according to my husband's schedule. I understand that the therapist is running late, but is it fair that our time gets cut off when it's been reserved ahead of time. I've been going to this ME branch for over a year now although it's not in the city where I live. Why? Because they have therapists who have been able to help me through my chronic back issues. This is not an easy feat! Fern, who is no longer at this facility, was an excellent therapist who really tuned in to what muscle or area needed more attention and knowledgeable about how to treat chronic pain. I would recommend her for swedish if u don't have a lot of problem areas. 3 stars Nick 2x: He's great at deep tissue. But he sometimes forgets to make time for focus areas that u request. 4 stars Laiani 3x: She's my favorite. I love her technique. She's about medium to deep. She just needs to get better at focusing on knots. 4.5 stars Bryan 2x: He's really great with problem areas. He's the first therapist I know that details. He has about 13 years of experience and knows a whole lot about muscles and how they connect. But he also has to work on his time management. 4.5 stars I wish I could combine their techniques to have the perfect therapist. But overall, the service was excellent and the place is clean. I cannot recall ever going to a place that has worse customer service. First off, the massage was mediocre at best. My masseuse did not speak English so I could not communicate with her. Also, they did not redeem my gift card and said that I had already used it(I had not) and when the manager looked into it he called and said that "fact of the matter is that I owe for my massage." I ended up paying for the massage and told him "you may be getting your money, but you are losing two customers" to which he said "that's okay" and hung up the phone. Very unprofessional, rude and terrible customer service. I would advise going elsewhere as they do not operate a place to go to relax and get away from stress. I am a regular here. Visit here once a month as I have chronic neck & shoulder pain. I was apprehensive on my first visit as I don't know what to expect. The front desk was friendly & helpful. The first time was a 2 hr massage. I had to fill out a basic questionnaire. Then I was escorted to the massage room where I had to settle down. My therapist knocked before entering and then asked me if I was comfortable. Then she asked me about my problem areas and then started to work. At the end of the massage I felt extremely relaxed and revived. Now my regular massage therapist is Wendy. She is a warm & a nice person. She is very polite & respects your silence when you get a massage. She makes you relax. She works the problem areas deftly. I have had the deep tissue massage here once & it did leave me sore. OK, it's 5 Stars if you join, 4 otherwise due to value for your money. With lots of stress from everyday life, last November I decided to join for a year and give it a try. The place is simple, calm, and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and always makes you feel at home, offering water, the nice chairs, etc. On my second visit I had Josalyn and she was really fantastic. She is very friendly, respectful, and listened to what I needed. She gave me a great massage that concentrated on my back and glutes, just like I asked. I've been getting the 1 hour massage with her and today opted for the 1.5 hour, full body massage while still concentrating on my back trouble spots. Josalyn was amazing and I left feeling euphoric. Josalyn only talks to make sure I'm comfortable or if I initiate converstation. She knows how to get the knots out of my back and can really work the glutes!! She's now the only one I'll see so, of course, I recommend seeing her and joining Massage Envy for the great value. read more

I went there last week. They have great deals but here is what they lack: Communication - I called them for an appointment which I was to attend in ten minutes. By the time I got there the girl who says she is the manger gives the appointment to someone else. She claimed I needed to book the appointment by paying for full guarantee. Which was never communicated to me in the first place. Trust - she later apologized and said she would give ma bottle of lotion worth $10 which is normal to give in most messages I have had in the past. Last the message therapist said he would work on my whole body while focusing on my upper back where I'm most stressed. He then left the room with out doing my arms :) Perhaps it was a bad day for me or just bad service. I would never go back to this particular envy for a message again. read more

He responded well "you were pregnant last month why is it any difference now"! Needless to say it got worse after that & ended with him hanging up on me! I have to agree with many of the reviews, the owner Jeff is very sneaky, when I tried to cancel my membership and my husbands it took over 6 months, I finally had to contest the charges with my CC company to cancel. Although I talked to Jeff to cancel, he kept saying I never called and he didn't remember me saying I wanted to cancel, he said that Massage Envy only accepts written cancellations, if I had known that I would have written a letter immediately. He was incredibly rude on the phone during the entire process and even swore at me when I got the cancellation through my CC. If anyone wants to get massages here, I strongly recommend not buying a membership but just coming for one at a time. read more

Came in for a massage last week. While the staff is nice..... the sales pitch just kills anything. I was expecting it when I walked in, and politely told the receptionist that for medical reasons I won't be able to get a massage for a while after this. I think she held back on the sales pitch at that point, so initially it wasn't that bad (true story-- I didn't say that to get them off my back). But then the masseuse, as nice as he was, just wouldn't let it go. Every time he could work it in to the conversation he did. And then went so far as to say he couldn't do much for my back (which isn't even in bad shape!) because I would have to start coming in for membership appointments to really make a difference. Seriously, I am not really even in bad shape or anything! I don't know if that is part of the sales pitch to really not work on you to get you back in for more massages, but he just didn't do much for me. Again, super nice and sweet, but he basically just gave me a general rub down with no attention/pressure finger work to work on certain areas. Overall it just wasn't a great massage. The thing that got to me on the way out is they STILL tried to sell me on the membership, saying they looked up my medical issue and the major surgery I am having done for it, saying it looks like I can still get a massage. First of all-- that is the decision for me and my surgeon. This is the second time I am having this surgery done. I know fully well what I can and can't do after it, and unfortunately after it's not much of anything for the first 3-4 months. Like I said, they were nice and never nasty about anything, but at that point that was over the line in my opinion. I used to work sales, and I understand how it goes, but I would have NEVER told somebody I knew better than their surgeon or them and their experience previously having gone through it, and try to twist the persons arm more in to it. Even if the massage was the best massage I had ever had, at that point I wouldn't come back to the place after being pitched so hard. It's like a furniture salesman who follows me around the store and pitches me. I am less likely to buy from somebody like that, and part of being a good salesmen is reading those cues from customers like that and respecting their space. For $50 there are PLENTY of options in the area. The market is flooded out here with massage places. There are always groupons out for $25 massages some place. Definitely worth it to go try some place else just to avoid the sales pitch alone. read more

I absolutely LOVE this location! Even though I'm a member, my schedule didn't allow me to go in for 5 months until I absolutely had to. I was in tears when I called on the morning of 2/11/15 from extreme lower back pain. Didn't have an appt but the owner Jeff said to come on over and that Primo was available at that moment. I'm so lucky and blessed to have met with him! It took a couple of sessions to completely take care of my problem but only because I neglected to explain "ALL" the pain locations I was having. I thought it was only from my lower back but once I mentioned that my abdomen & thigh/leg were also hurting he changed his technique. I walked out of there in an hour practically dancing! I had not been able to sit, stand or walk without crying at home & work (all from working at a computer all day & laptop at night.) Unfortunately, i took it for granted that I was cured forever after a month without changing my own habits so I had to go back for therapy and not relaxation. I must also give my praises to my favorites for the past couple of years as well.... Yuri and Andrea!! My dear friend also told me of others there who are just as excellent and some that specialize in sports injuries such as Brian. Once star is too nice to give to this establishment. Poor management and inferior massage therapist. We have been going to them on a regular basis for a couple years, but should have stopped long ago. Most recently, last week when I went to get on the massage table there was a cold sticky substance on the sheets that resembled bodily fluids-need I say more. I notified the massage therapist in a soft tone and she was equally as horrified to hear it from me. They immediately changed the sheets and comped my session for the day. This morning we received a call from the owner telling us no massage therapist wanted to work with either myself or my husband any further and they accused us of putting it there! Disgusting people. The fee is a little high since I can get a massage for 60 at a chiropractors office. 98/hr for a non-member price was crazy... I am not sure how they can get that.. This place deserves ZERO STARS!!! Let me first start by saying Jeff the owner is a lieing money hungry individual! He has the worst customer service ever. He will tell you, the customer, you are wrong and he is right and any conversations that you had prior he makes up some lie so you as the customer are in the wrong. Now if the owner has such a bad business ethic why would you want to go to a place he owns? My boyfriend and I have reluctantly been a member for just about two years now. We got suckered into their "Membership" that is almost impossible to cancel, I was being charged $59 a month and my boyfriend was being charged $49 a month because he was considered a family member on my account and got a family member discount. We were told it was a 1 year membership and at that point if we want to renew we can. Well a year passes, we barely used the prepaid massages that we were being billed every month and I assumed as it was a 1 year contract it will end. Nope! To my surprise they continue to keep charging you and the only way you can cancel is you have to speak to the owner, Jeff, as he is the only one with the power to cancel your membership. This makes it difficult as Jeff doesn't return messages left for him as well as he isn't in the office much. After about a year and a half of being a member at this branch my boyfriend and I noticed that the reception staff were quite rude and they didn't acknowledge you when you came in. There were times when my bf and I got couples massages and the two therapist where horsing around and whispering to each other and giggling as they were trying to massage us. Not professional at all. When I was fed up and wanted to cancel our memberships it took over a month to connect with Jeff to cancel the accounts. I informed Jeff that my bf was attached to my account and I wanted both of our accounts canceled. Jeff tells me that my bf doesn't have a credit card attached to his account so his is no problem and he will cancel mine. A month later I check mine and my bf's credit card statements and I didn't have a monthly charge show up but my bf continued to get charged the monthly fee. Two months have gone by and I have left several message for Jeff with no return phone calls. I called this morning and low and behold he's in the office. When I tell Jeff this has been going on for two months of trying to get my bf's membership canceled when it should have been canceled with mine, his response 'you didn't tell me to cancel his too,' which doesn't even make sense since my bf was linked to my account why would I keep his open and only cancel mine. Then I tell Jeff about the conversation we had originally when I canceled my account and he tells me 'I would never say anything like that in a million years' really he's calling me a liar... Needless to say at this point I was very upset. Jeff then tells me he has left a voicemail for my bf telling him to call him back, which was a complete lie as my bf never heard a word from him. Before I hung the phone up on Jeff, he tells me now the only way it will be canceled is if my bf calls him. So at this point I think our best bet is to tell the credit card company to stop the payments since Jeff at massage envy refuses to cancel his membership and continues to play his cat and mouse game by not returning phone call messages or allowing his staff to just take the call and cancel the membership. Because of this horrible experience I will never go to massage envy again and will let everyone know BEWARE! This place is money hungry and if you sign up for a membership you are in it for life because it is almost impossible to get them to cancel your membership. read more

I've been coming here for about 2.5 to 3 years now and I finally feel comfortable enough and have been here enough to write a review that is truly reflective of the services. A little background on me. I am a tennis player and a triathlete, although lately I have been more of a triathlete due to the time consumption a triathlon demands. I lift weights in the morning, and do either cycling, running, or jogging after the weightlifting (sometimes more than one of the three activities in the same day). I don't think the masseuses really know just how much of my body is sore or hurting unless I tell them so I stress high importance on those who listen to where I focused on and acts accordingly. With that said, I'd say my experience here is very good. For the most part, most of the therapists have done a good job on listening to my needs and tailoring the massage times to my problem areas. It could be reflective of the school they've attended, but some therapists seem to stick only to a technique and it doesn't always get the job done. I've been to other massages and they run through a routine, ignoring what I've initially said and when asked for more pressure, they couldn't muster the strength to really get in deep. This massage envy definitely has the strength and elbow grease to give you a good massage. I also judge the quality of the massage on how deep I sleep and how relaxed I feel after the massage. There are two people here that have stuck out in getting it done the way I like it (deep tissue). Cheryl (I don't even know if she works here anymore) and more recently, Sue. I'll talk more about Sue as she seems more available to me. When Sue massages me, I immediately feel much more relaxed on the drive home. When I sleep, I knock out fast and deep. The last time she massaged me I couldn't even help it and fell asleep immediately once I got home (missed taking my dogs to the dog park). I just very recently had the pleasure of having sue again, told her about my problems, and she delivered once again. My back, legs, and arms were sore and she worked through them and really got in deep. She seems to just know where else my body isn't happy. I never said my neck and shoulders were problematic but when she went over those areas, she spent just a tiny bit more time on it and used a very good pressure. It isn't all pain either. She still somehow makes it comforting. If you make an appointment and Sue is an option, get her. She'll get the job done. Overall, great place to go to. read more

He said they didn't use any oil so I called the next day to complain and the lady on the phone told me she have the manger give me a all I nevered received one so I called back the following week and I was told there's no notes that I called she also said the manger would call me back but yet still haven't received any call from him I will Never return nor will I recommend. I've been meaning to write this review for a week now... Worst massage of my life given by Julia, last Friday. One word to sum it up - DISASTER. Her spa etiquette and professionalism was probably the biggest issue i had with the massage. I don't know if she was having a bad day or if she was sick, but she was sniffling and yawning loudly the entire time. She would intermittently stop to wipe/blow her nose and proceed to continue the massage w/o washing or sanitizing her hands. Being a Licensed Esthetician myself, I was appalled at her sanitation practices. It was clear she was distracted very easily as there was no flow, it felt very slapped together. Her technique was incredibly sub-par and I found it extremely hard to relax... I walked out of there feeling more tense than when I originally came in. She did not even let me know that the session was over...instead she practically ran out of the room and said halfway out the door "You can put your clothes back on now!" I got changed, went outside...she was nowhere to be found, so I walked myself out. What's even more of a concern is that receptionist out front said Julia has been doing massage for awhile now. Wow...just wow. I find that very hard to believe. A word to management - do not let your employees come in to work a shift if sick, "have allergies", or too tired. I feel jipped and I will now be taking my business to another Massage Envy branch since I'm stuck with the year long membership. read more

I love coming to Massage Envy!! Dee is HANDS DOWN the best massage therapist I've ever seen! After I was in a really bad multiple vehicle car accident a few years ago, I've been struggling with lower back pain that affects me daily. I've done the physical therapy thing and have been managing on my own with regular massages, stretching, and meds. I've been to plenty of "luxury spas" over the years where they try to create this serene atmosphere with lots of granite and waterfalls (blah blah barf).. yet the staff is stuffy and pretentious, my masseuse weren't attentive to my needs, and I ended up feeling unsatisfied with each experience.. Massage Envy stands well above the rest! There are lots of convenient locations (one is a few blocks from my house) and I visit multiple times a month because of the quality of service I experience here on a regular basis and the great price!. The staff is friendly, the property is clean and welcoming without feeling sterile, and it's a place where you can really unwind. I stop by in the evening after a long day at work, have an hour massage, and it makes my whole day better! The benefit of being able to relax and have some "me time" every once and a while is a great feeling. I was elated to meet Dee at my first visit! She was very personable, and customized the massage to help alleviate my back pain. Before seeing her, I was used to going everywhere else and spending about $120-$150 to have someone do a one hour full body massage, yet spend maybe 5 minutes massaging my back (the MAIN reason I would go to a spa) - all the while not even bothering to ask how I'm feeling... how rude is that?? Dee will ask if the pressure is okay, if I would like her to focus more of the time on my lower back, etc. I walked in there just wanting to try out their services and ended up getting a membership (I did this on my own and wasn't pressured into signing up) because I knew that there was no need in going through the trial and error process with another business. $59 per month, you can't beat that!! A few yes I've brought in a friend and clearly explained that my friend was not a member. EVERY time I've been given wrong rate information. And nobody here wants to help.
