I can move! I scheduled a last minute appointment last Sunday due to some right leg and hip pain I was experiencing from my boxing class. Even though it was last minute the entire experience was totally awesome. My massage therapist did a fantastic job focusing on the troublesome areas. When I walked in I had a mild limp just from my muscles being so tight. By the time I left I could bend, stretch and move freely without experiencing any pain. I've been here a few times in the past and had similar experiences I just never took the time to write a review. This visit was well worth taking the time to write a review and share my positive vibes. I'll definitely be going back to this location and scheduling a massage with the same therapist. He really knew what he was doing. The only downside to visiting massage envy is there sales pitch at the end where they try and get to join a monthly program where they try and deduct money from your paycheck every month. Evidently you get a massage a month at a reduced rate. I've heard the sales pitch before but their approach has become more passive so i didn't ding them any stars. read more

I'm on the fence about Massage Envy. I've never gotten a massage before, and I'll admit that I've always thought of massage therapy as exclusively belonging to upper-class yuppies. (Middle class bias FTW!) But after hurting my back while sleepwalking (go figure) and 2 weeks of pain, I decided to give it a shot. $39 for an hour seemed pretty good, so why not? The environment was nice, and the massage therapist who helped me out was very friendly. She even turned down the cheezy spa music and turned on some better tunes on her mp3 player. However, I went in to the place looking specifically for help with lower back pain. And while the therapist told me ahead of time that she would do a little of everything-- which is cool, I'm willing to trust somebody who knows what they're doing-- she didn't touch anything below my ribs, which is where 85% of my problems are! Overall, I can't say I regret going, but I'm a bit disappointed. My upper back, arms, and legs felt good afterwards after some serious deep tissue massage. But when I go in for a specific purpose, and that pretty much gets ignored, it's more than a little bit frustrating. read more

Well...there were always little issues, and they eventually escalated: appointments canceled by Massage Envy at the last minute because someone "didn't feel well" and was going home and "unfortunately" no one else had openings (this happened to me multiple times in a row), or no availability for weeks in any of the many times I could go, or the extreme turnover (I would find someone who does a great job, next time they're gone and I have to try out more people looking for one that works for me, and wasting my massages with therapists that are a poor fit until I do). And I'm locked into a membership that I couldn't use for what seemed like a year, and having problems with them not having enough staff (because if they did, I wouldn't have so much trouble even trying to make an appointment) got old ages ago. And there were these weird glitches in the piped-in music that were creepily distracting (although that FINALLY seems fixed), and the prices keep going up, although the service keeps going down (I get massages regularly from multiple places: Massage Envy is the ONLY place that no longer offers water when my service is over, and even before covid it was just a cup. The other--much less expensive-- places I've been in the last 2 months gave me my own bottle straight out of a mini fridge). Today was the breaking point though. My 2-hour massage was punctuated most of the time by the noise of DENTAL DRILLS/GRINDERS from the dentist office next door! Dental. Drills. Does that sound relaxing to you? No, me either. The therapist was super nice and explained that because of the room we were in (that whole side shares a wall with the dental lab), there wasn't a way around it. He was kind and apologized profusely, and I understood. I wasn't happy about it, but it is what it is. When the checkout person asked how my massage was, I was chill about it, and bantered a bit, with a smile saying next time I'd check which room I was assigned beforehand so I could skip if it was along that wall. That would have been the end of it, but then another person came out of the office and invited herself into the conversation, talking down to me and "explaining how things work", and that they assign the rooms to the therapists and they "really can't accommodate" room changes (which is not at all what I was saying, so clearly, she was only half eavesdropping), and essentially, that I would just have to deal with it. I got a bit irked at that point, and my response was maybe I just shouldn't come back to that location (because paying that much money for a massage ought to get a better experience than at a bargain basement place with bargain prices--you get what you pay for, right?), and her immediate response was "that's completely fine" before she promptly turned around huffed herself back into the office. And then the checkout chick was snarky with me after that too. So, all that relaxation I took the time out of my day to get after a super upsetting doctor appointment? Didn't really happen, and the little bit I did get was dashed by the nosey backroom person who dropped into my world just long enough to be upsetting and incorrect in her ability to follow a conversation AND dismissive on top of it. I won't be going back, and as I choose the places for our medical support group to subsidize massages at (and we subsidize 54 memberships at Massage Envy: I just checked), that will end one by one as each person uses up any credits they have. I made new arrangements with a different massage/self care service in town, and we'll shift everyone over to them. Cancer and Lupus and Celiac's and Crohn's patients have enough problems without having to deal with crappy experiences from a place that's supposed to help them feel better. I HEARTILY do not recommend. You can do better at better prices all over town, and get treated better while you're at it. read more

Just wanted to give everyone an update about this experience. Shortly after I posted the review on Yelp I was contacted by the owner and they wanted to do everything they could do to improve the experience for the future. They were very kind to offer me a complimentary massage so I could try there services again and get wowed by their service. Just the though counted for me and I declined the offer, but stated instead I would give it another try and pay for it myself. I don't write the reviews to try to get anything out of them, other than to make people aware. That beingsaid, I think that they deserve a second chance to make a better experience and I am looking forward to it. I have a prenatal massage while my husband got an hour massage and since we haven't been here before, they gave us an introductory rate of $49.99. My prenatal masseuse was Lily. I was a bit disappointed because she only massage me for 48 minutes because according to her, she has a customer waiting outside for 3pm. How is that my problem? We came in 20 minutes early, paid for an hour massage and only got 48 minutes. My husband told me, his masseuse gave him an extra 5 minutes. Lily said I should come back and get an hour and a half massage and she'll do better next time. She didn't massage my head at all and my buttocks. My butt checks hurts and it would have been nice to get a head rub. She did massage my feet and shoulder good but that's about it. I would never come back because I definitely got a bad impression. I read some reviews in google about this place and they got bad reviews, I should have listened but I thought I should give them a try and since they are closer than the other ones. I'll definitely drive for good massage. I think we are going to try rubs next time. read more

This place is a hit or miss. It depends on who does it, it could be excellent. I miss Arianna, she was excellent at the facial and massage, and never sold me anything. She was moving on to bigger and better things in her life. I like Chris, too, she is a great massage therapist. The girl who did my facial before, I forgot her name, the girl with tattoo was trying to pressure sales me to buy a cleansing cream. Well, I use Guinot, I don't want to use other products. I can read labels. I like European products better because they don't have any stipulation from not following FDA regulations. I have seen the box of product she was trying to push, it's acid base, "Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Polyquaternium-4, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.....," of course, it gives you a false sense of its working. I was there to get a facial, ergo, I enjoyed it, don't spoil it. I guess that is the reason why it is inexpensive. Again, you get what you pay for. read more

I've been a member here for about 3 years and I've stayed because of the competitive price and good service. However, I'm canceling because they no longer grandfather in long time customers and raised the price from $49 a month to $65 a month over night. And their non-member prices are $90! I'll find somewhere else for a $65 massage that won't charge a monthly ETF. read more

Very easy booking process they found me a great therapist for my needs and got me in for the next day. I arrived 15 min early signed in and was greeted by a very nice lady who walked me through the whole process and what I should expect. At $39 per massage, it's a decent value for the money relative to other places but the massages are mediocre AT BEST. I have found that this place is a revolving door for massage therapists. Jose gave me a wonderful deep tissue massage that really helped my back pain. He listened and massaged only where I requested. My back was hurting so I didn't want to waste time on my arms and legs. I felt like I needed a relaxing massage and honestly the therapist that I got did an excellent job! I would definitely go back to her! The problem was after the massage.. I went to pay and the woman at the front desk tried desperately to sell me a membership. I politely turned it away and the she tried to sell me ANOTHER membership... again I turned it away. I have been coming to Massage Envy for over three years and wouldn't miss it for the world. I started with severe back problems and met Ernie (who had just joined Massage Envy himself). He is wonderful, simply wonderful. He got my back functioning again and has kept it that way ever since. I have a monthly 1 1/2 hours with him. I treat my daughters and daughter-in-law every time they visit (my DIL just had her massage with Ernie last week and claims it was the best one she's ever had). We love it. All the therapist are extremely knowledgeable with at least 5-10 years of experience. The front desk staff is more than willing to go out of their way to meet the customers needs and make sure that they are matched with the right therapist. Massage Envy also offers an amazing health and wellness program that makes it possible for me to receive monthly massages at a discounted rate. Great massages. I like deep muscle massages and all the masseuses I've had to date (5 visits) have been great. They ask questions regarding trouble spots and all have been professional, personable and enthusiastic. I get one a month and I only wish I could afford more. Their prices are reasonable but I am on a fixed income. Yes their look is corporate but I don't see that as a bad thing since they are nationwide. I don't go there for the music or stimulating conversation. The front desk folks have always been welcoming and personable as well. I decided to give Massage Envy a try after receiving a gift certificate. This was a much needed massage due to a couple of serious losses my family had endured over the past couple of months. I was expecting a much better experience than what I had. First I arrived early to fill out the initial paperwork and waited forever to turn it in since the receptionist was busy tending to one extremely picky woman and two cackling old hens. Needless to say, because of this my massage started late. The therapist was decent but never initially introduced herself or tried to get to know me. It made it a little awkward allowing someone to touch your body when you don't even know their name to begin with. Next, the lights were barely dimmed. This made it hard to relax which I thought was part of Massage 101. And back to the cackling hens, the coop must have opened up and let them out because during the whole massage I heard yap, yap, yap, yap. Sheesh. I made an appointment thinking it was at Old Spanish Trail, but turns out I was wrong! My appointment was a different location. When I arrived at Old Spanish Trail the lady helping me out was awesome! The other location wanted to charge me a no show fee, but luckily the girl working at the Old Spanish Trail figured everything out and I did not have to pay any fees ! Unfortunately the other location did end up charging me for the massage I never received. So the wonderful girl at the Old Spanish Trail saved the day once again and I received my money back.! We rescheduled for the following week but the day of the appointment we received a call that our masseuse left home sick. So we rescheduled again but the lovely lady at the Old Spanish Trail included a "complimentary special". (Can't remember the exact name but we got some added features to our massage). The massage was awesome ! My hubby & I went because we have been completely stressed. It was our first massage so we can't really compare it to anyone else. I used to like this place for an occasional relaxing afternoon. However lately I feel as though this particular location has gone waaay downhill. The last time I visited I was treated very poorly by an employee named Emma. I had asked a simple question about a particular treatment, I was spoken to in a rude and demeaning manner. I am no longer going to visit this place again. When i asked to speak with the owner, my request was refused. I joined this massage location well over a year ago. I have had nothing but great service. Since I get at least 2 massages (each 2 hours in length) a month the membership fees actually save me money each month versus paying nonmembership rate each time. I have used 3 different therapists over the course of the last year and a half and they all were very good. The entrance is a bit cluttered with all the other retail products that they try to push and I find that a bit distracting. But once I'm in the room, the mood and music is quiet yet soothing. The therapists will chat as little or as much as I am in the mood for, and I like that. My biggest complaint, if you can call it that, is that my therapists are so popular, I have to book my appointments up to 2 months out in order to match my availability to theirs. It is inconvenient, but I don't know what they could do to fix that. read more
