First off I would like to say the Massage therapists were great especially Jennifer. However, management/customer service sucks! Buyer beware! I signed a year contract and made all my payments on time. At the end of the year I called to ask how many payments and credits I had left and was told one last payment of $80 and I had 4 credits that I hadn't used. I informed the girl that I would not be renewing my contract as I found I didn't have time due to work commitments to use all the credits every month. At no point did she tell me I would need to fill out a cancellation form and if I didn't I would be charged $90 a month until i did! Apparently I signed a section in the contract a year ago that I would have to fill out a cancellation form. Even so I called right away when I found out my card had been charged another $90. As I already have 4 credits that I have to use up within 60 days I did not want or need another credit. I asked if they could refund the $90 and after talking to three members of the staff I was met with attitude and was told they would not refund the $90. I was offered a $90 refund if I agreed to cancel my 4 credits! That made no sense as I would be out 4 payments of $80 totaling $320!!!! I would have been less upset if they had been at all nice about it but the attitude was awful. If they want return customers and referrals I would be a little more customer friendly. I will not be using Massage Envy in the future and will not recommend this location. read more

Came here on a Monday afternoon and my massage therapist was Emanuel. I was abit late but he was still able to see me for my full treatment which was super nice. I got the 60 minute massage and emphasized that I ran in a half marathon the day before and to focus on the lower half of my body more. My back was bothering me too but not as much as my lower extremities. He spent 80% of the time on my neck and back and 20% on my legs. I wish it was the other way around but seemed like he was following a certain pattern that he utilizes on all of his clients. Did Not seem unique to me and my soreness that day. So this was my second time coming here after signing up me and my dad, and i actually brought in my husband to sign up, because they called for a free service for signing up. long story short they told me that my husband would get a free first service for signing up, but that was not true he would get a free service in November or December which they did not inform me on that, so we did not have a choice and ended up paying and signing up. we enjoyed the massage but at the end for the check out ASHLYN spoke very bad with us and rolled her eyes at me and disrespected me infront of my husband and other clients there and i didn't appreciate it , after signing up 3 people for a year. I came here because I got a giftcard for my birthday. I just so happen to be in the area. I walked in without an appointment and they were able to fit me in right with their next available spot that was starting in 5 mins. I was greeted by Tonya who was my massage therapist. I mentioned it was my birthday, and she offered me a complimentary aromatherapy enhancement which is a $10 add on for normal visits but for your birthday its free. It was very nice of her to give me that birthday add on. She did a wonderful job and always asked how it felt to ensure it was the right amount of pressure. I would like to schedule with her again but unfortunately she works week days still 1:30pm or 2pm. I was just lucky to catch her for my first visit at Massage Envy. Visiting Irvine for work and booked last minute based solely on availability. I was booked with Moon for 2 hours. I'm not certain of spelling of her name, sorry. But fast forward to appt day.... Aesthetic - maximalist, dark, almost too cluttered Front Desk - friendly and efficient Cleanliness - the facility is dated and it was dark and carpeted. If it was clean or not, I couldn't say. But clean enough to not scare me away. Masseuse - OUTSTANDING technique, top 3 memorable massages of my life to date. Her manipulation and attention to certain areas with more inflammation was spot on, dialing up and down as necessary without any verbal feedback from me, as if she was communicating directly with my body and listening for response. Literal bait and switch . Booked for this location online and the total was 158. In the fine print it said this was introductory pricing and was good as long as you had not been to a massage envy in the last 6 months . It also said some locations do not do the introductory pricing however considering I booked for this specific location for a specific price and put my card on file I thought nothing of it . I go to my appointment and they want over 200+ just for the massage . I asked them why and they first said it was because I had been to a massage envy before . I told them that on the website it specifically said that it was only if you had not been in the last 6 months (I had gone over a year ago ) so that is not accurate . They then changed their tune and said it was because their location does not do the introductory pricing even though I literally booked for this specific location online for a specific price . I told the front desk person that this was the definition of a bait and switch and a scummy business practice and requested a refund which they declined . If you are going to book any massage envy location ( I would not recommend it ) just remember the price online is not the actual price you pay . After this I went online and sure enough massage envy is in a class action law suit for similarly scummy business tactics and is not recognized by the better business bureau ... The masseuse was very nice but if I wanted to get an Asian-style massage I would have gone to an Asian-massage place and paid a cheap price. I come to massage envy specifically for the reason that I don't like or expect that style. The massage was not relaxing AT ALL. Her movements were so fast and rough as she was shaking my whole body. I asked her to slow her movements down but she didn't. She did not work or get into any muscle group. I upgraded to a 90 minute massage as well as it was a present from my mom and I was really looking forward to this massage. I'm so disappointed and don't feel like I should have had to use my massage from my mom. I left almost in tears because I was so disappointed. I decided to ignore the negative reviews and give them the benefit of the doubt, but I see now the reviews were just warning me to save my $! My boyfriend and I both went in to get massages and he had a terrible experience with his masseuse. He said she hardly applied any pressure despite being a masseuse under the "firm" category. Receptionist made me verbally respond to the personal questions in the questionaire (which body areas I wanted them to touch, etc). I had to verbally explain that I did'nt want glute, face, or feet touching in front of a full lobby, instead of letting me complete it myself. Then when I was brought back to the masseuse, she asked me the same questions, as if she didnt see the questions I already filled out, which was a waste of both of our times. Then she still went ahead and touched my glute, face, and feet even though I said they were off limits. And at the end, even though we booked at a total price of $158, I was charged $297, and when we questioned this, we were told that massage envy had a "clause in the fine print" that allowed them to pick and choose what to charge people... never returning. read more

Last week was my first time being seen by Eddie(y). He has hands down given the best massage I have ever had. Eddie(y) was so amazing that I had to give the experience to my partner. Myself and my partner booked massages for 7/18/25, when we got in I realized I was booked with Eddie instead of my partner being booked with him. My partner had a horrible experience the week before (with someone else at the same location). I asked to switch with him so he can experience the amazing massages done by Eddie(y). Needless to say, My partner had the biggest smile on his face as he described how Eddie(y) paid attention to him and literally provided the best service possible! Terrible place, even for massage envy. Had a therapist do things that will result in injury, and belittle me the entire time saying it's just too hard and that I need a softer therapist (even though I've gotten only deep tissue my entire life). Her technique included using a blade or tool ON my Achilles tendon and IN various joints. Like, pinpointing joints with a blade or stone and jamming them in there with heavy force. These are huge red flags and will result in injury. Called and briefly explained this and asked for a manager to call me back and never heard from anyone. Also, the front desk staff is even worse than your average ME. I specifically asked for a Deep Tissue therapist. Sure enough, turns out they booked me for appointments with someone who doesn't even do deep tissue and I only found out via the website, no phone call. I regret getting a membership. Usually all of the Front Desk girls are the sweetest and very helpful. I recently called to schedule a massage session, a lady named Linda answered the phone and she was extremely unprofessional. She gave attitude and didn't even ask me about the type of massage I wanted and who I wanted it with. She kept saying om how shes doing me a "courtesy" by adding the massage session which I didn't understand. The receptionists at the front were very friendly and welcoming but to rate the overall massage I would recommend else where. My massage was supposed to be an hour and she only did 45 minutes. I bought massages for me and my friend to celebrate her birthday. When we got there, the experience with the front desk staff was pleasant and we filled out a detailed intake form which we both enjoyed doing as it made us feel as if they were very invested in our experience. Upon being called back, that's when the disappointment set in. My masseuse called me back, pointed me down the hallway, without a single hello or pleasantry, asked me what I'd like her to focus on, which was odd considering we outlined that in the survey a minute ago and quickly left for me to change. Once she came back, I was lying on my side for a prenatal massage and I asked (before she began) if she could aim to go on the "lighter side" 1) I'm pregnant and 2) this was already expressed on my call while booking and they mentioned to let my masseuse know. There was such an awkward pause that led me to think she didn't hear me so I started to turn around to her and she laughed/scoffed with a "uhhh, I'll try....! ....I'm typically medium to firm....but uhhhh let's see how this goes." I rolled back over completely shocked by her response and continued to lay there so uncomfortable purely from her attitude. The massage itself was, okay. Nothing I'd ever spend $100+ for, maybe $25-$35. She skipped specific parts I indicated on the survey, rushed sections and was halfway out the door mumbling a goodbye before I even realized it was done. When I came out I came to find my friend had an even worse experience. :/ Perhaps I went into it with much higher expectations than I should've but it was underwhelming, to say the least. I used the online system to book an appointment here (I usually go to a different location but decided to try this one for the first time) and apparently there was an error because when I showed up, my appointment was not there. The front desk said I probably made a mistake booking because she could see an appointment for the day prior that I had missed, and that I owed a "no show" fee. I was surprised I would have booked that day since I was working, but I believed her, and asked the manager that since I was a member and this was my first time missing an appointment, if they could make an exception. She told me that absolutely nothing could be done because the masseuse had to be paid. Look, I get the masseuse needs to be paid - but 1. That is the cost of business. Things happen, and hiring your staff is your overhead. Please don't make the customer feel bad for that. And 2. When I went to double check my confirmation, there was none in my email nor on the website. I have no idea happened - maybe there was a glitch, maybe I did book the wrong day. But there is no way for me to confirm and apparently no concessions made for the customers. I get to the location 15 mins early to check in as requested. I receive a call as I'm walking in, no joke, that my esthetician Summer called out & they don't have anyone on-call. There was also no way to contact their manager, Giana who was off. Since I drove all the way there, I was even willing to get a different service but none available. I cannot stress how bad this experience was. To quickly sum-up, I had to come to this location because closer spots were unavailable, but this one is also $125 for a basic massage and everywhere else is $90, so already sucked to be paying more and driving further. I had Iliana and she rushed me to the room and began as quickly as possible. She set the time for 49 minutes when I paid for 60 and on top of that stopped early leaving me, in reality, with a 40 minute massage. The massage was truly just vigorously rubbing oil on me. The was no tissue work or anything that my 8 year old niece couldn't do herself. I asked specifically for my legs and feet to be worked on and only my thighs were rubbed, never even touched my feet once. On top of all that she kept scratching my neck with her nails. I kept tensing up and pulling away, but she kept at it. Sure enough in the end I had claw marks that still burn left on my neck. The 50-minute hands-on time is misleading and not fair. They wait too long after letting you undress to come back. I just feel I am cheated out of time. Also 2 credits plus $30 for just adding hot stones?!?!?! Not worth it. Very disappointed that you removed the quiet/relaxing room to sell more merchandise. Your receptionists are very loud and disruptive to the spa process and there is no way to escape from them. I can even hear them quite clearly while getting a massage. Please tell them to whisper and create a spa-like experience. When I came in on 11/12/22, one of them loudly, almost yelling, did a full consultation (which was supposed to be private?) with a new client. I don't want to hear about another client's touching preferences and pain spots. The website to schedule a massage is also a joke. Too many screens to scroll through, and if there is no available time, you have to go all the way back to the beginning to choose another day/location. read more
