The massagers were second to none. When it came to end of contract and my desire to cancel that that's where it all went wrong. I sent a cancellation email in March 2025 before my wife and I annual contract expired. Specifically, Cheryl could not locate the email I sent one month prior. I received an email one month after expiration indicating that she had attempted to charge my card and my wife's card even though we had spoken on the phone about cancellation. She claims she did not receive the email. She also had the incorrect cell phone number. No one's fault. The email right place and no one's fault. The phone number she was using was incorrect. I simply asked that the extra month charge my wife be refunded and that the credits we had remaining, 10 of the 12 month credits that we had not used, not be canceled until the 60 day point after initial contract expiration. I have the specific emails and have conversation with Cheryl today. She continually argued with me told me she couldn't find the emails and became combative. I had an hour of credits and called to verify . I went in to my next appointment believing I had an hour credit and was told that they had expired only after I recieved the service.. There was never any communication about expired credits. They had my husband's email and often texted me to ask if I wanted an appointment yet there was no courtesy given to communicate that I could lose what I had paid for approximately $190 . This is outrageous. I went there ovten except when I was traveling. I ALSO gave this service as a gift. Beware... they will take your money with out service and then blame you. read more

Left feeling unhappy today. When I scheduled the appointment, I specifically asked for a deep tissue massage. While under the covers, I was told by the person giving the massage that she does not do deep tissue. I was also shorted for time. I was told that it will be an hour long session but actually was 45-50 minutes including undressing and dressing. I am a long time member at the Burlington location. I have a hard time booking there sometimes and was going on day 3 of a persistent headache. I checked out the Westborough location schedule and blindly booked with Jezabel. This may become my new location because not only did my headache finally go away, but she found all the knots on her own. Best massage ever! I can't wait to go back. Only downside is that I have to pay more because westborough charges more than Burlington monthly. They should probably mention this when you call to book. Other than that, very happy!! read more

I have had four different massage therapists since I began and all have been excellent. Making an appointment has always been easy. Never in my life have I felt more disrespected or had such poor service at a business as I did with Massage Envy Westborough. I have horrible pain in my shoulders, and at my first appointment I greatly emphasized this to the therapist, going as far as joking that I would be happy if she spent 90% of our time on that area. During the massage I kept waiting for her to massage my shoulders, thinking it was coming, and before I knew it the appointment was over. She had not massaged my shoulders at all. I thought maybe this was just one bad therapist; the membership deal sounded good so I chose to join, which in retrospect was a huge mistake. I rescheduled with a different therapist for my next appointment, and while there I asked about a benefit that I was told about when I joined (a free "boost" once a month for my first year). He told me he had no idea what I was talking about; he said there was a promotion in August, but that it was over. He talked me into the muscle enhancer instead, which I had to pay for. The massage I received from this employee was also not great; he kept burping throughout the massage, smelled terrible, and it was more of an assisted stretch than a massage. A short while after this appointment I received an email about the "boost" benefit that I asked about, which also said boosts are "use them or lose them" and don't roll over. I felt as though I had been intentionally misled in order to get me to make a purchase. I saw in my contract that if "extenuating circumstances exist" they could permit me to cancel during my Initial Term, and felt strongly that the poor service coupled with questionable business practices should count as such. I emailed the management explaining the situation and did not receive a reply until almost a full week later, and they told me there was nothing they could do, and the district manager said I couldn't cancel. They said the therapist was mistaken and was thinking of a deal they had for Sept./Oct., which I actually still would have qualified for and didn't even match the story the therapist had told me. I requested that they ask the DM again, and they promised they would and that they'd call me on Tuesday. They never called, nor was I ever offered an alternative solution. I am a 34-week pregnant woman, and I scheduled a pre-natal massage at 18 Lyman Street #20W Westborough, MA 01581 for a 6:15pm appointment yesterday. I arrived there 10 minutes early just to have my appointment start 10 minutes after 6:15pm. Normally the wait isn't a problem, but Brooke had an attitude and mind you it wasn't that busy. She left me to change, but it takes me longer than usual because I am pregnant. Brooke has no manners and lacks any customer service. Doesn't knock. Just barges in. Shook my stomach vigorously and didn't do anything I requested. She was pressing on my baby's head! Then she proceeded to tell me to lay on my stomach right after she told me that pregnant woman should not go on their stomach. I was bit confused and asked why, which she responded: "oh I forgot you were pregnant". On top of that, they cut my appointment 10 minutes early. This was the worst pre-natal massage and just in general the worst experience and massage I have ever had. This person needs to be fired! read more

I've had a lot of massages over the years, and this was by far the worst I've ever had. They tell you that they build in 10 minutes for consult, so you will be receiving a massage for 50 minutes. My scheduled massage was at 7:00. My massage didn't start until 7:10 and the time on the clock upon completion was 7:48. I paid for 60 minutes and got 38. In addition, I expressed to the therapist (Sheila) that I wanted her to focus on my upper back, neck and shoulders as that's where I carry my tension and have lots of knots. She said I should really get my legs massaged to "even everything out" so I told her she could spend a few mins on my legs. I told her I did not want my face or scalp massaged. She spent over half the time on my arms and legs, and only about 10 mins on my entire back, shoulders and neck. Halfway through, she pressured me into a scalp massage because it would "feel really good", I said no, then she asked again, so I obliged, but really didn't want that service. Lastly, I requested medium to firm pressure and what I got was a glorified lotion application. There was no pressure, even after requesting more. Not once did the therapist ask how I was doing or if I was satisfied with the amount of pressure, focus areas, etc. After leaving the room, she did not give me any feedback, all she did was hand me a water and tell me to have a good night. Upon checking out, I was told that my gift certificate I had would cover the cost of the massage and that I should apply the remainder to gratuity since it is standard to tip $20 for a 60 min massage, and that's how much I had left on my gift card. I found that to be extremely unprofessional and pushy, especially with other clients around. I should be told to tip whatever I was comfortable with. This massage was a gift for my first mother's day and was meant to be a treat and a chance for me to relieve some of the stress, as it's been over 18 months since my last massage. What I got was a waste of time & money...not to mention, I still have tremendous amount of tension & knots in my upper back & shoulders. Stay away from this ME location! read more

Of all the massage options in the area- I wouldn't recommend this one. I've seen multiple massage therapists and this was one of the worst massages. The staff are consumed with trying to get you to sign a contract (don't do it) and the massage therapists are not great (not even "good"). The massage therapist (Brian) belched twice during the massage...so gross. I didn't think much of it until a friend told me he encountered the SAME thing by the same massage therapist. I was also billed for an hour when the "consultation" (that was not needed) consumes some of that time. Definitely an unfair and deceptive trade practice should anyone looking for any consumer actions here against the business. I will never return. read more

If you are serious about your health and well being and can afford it then massage envy's member plan is the way to go. I pay 55 a month with the discount rate I get from having a Harvard Pilgrim insurance plan. That buys me one credit a month for a 50 min massage (10 minutes for consultation and redress for the full 1hr service blah blah blah some BS they tell you). The best part about the plan is that when you become a member every other massage you get is $39.99 for 50 min or 59.99 for 80 min. I personally get the 80 minute massage since it gives the therapist enough time to thoroughly treat and examine the knots that are causing me stress and discomfort. The only catch with the member plan is that it is a 12 month commitment (approximately $720 if you pay all at once), which is why I said in the beginning if you can pony up the money then do it. Between working at office, distance running, Bachata dancing, occasional golfing, and weightlifting my body often takes a lot of punishment. The plan is worth it for me since my body demands a massage at a minimum every 2 weeks. You guys might think I am crazy but believe me for those who never have had a massage you would be surprised by how many aches and pains you really have. Before my first massage I never knew I had bad posture, that were affecting my range and motion. Now that I know I can avoid bad things from happening in the future. If you go to other places you will end up paying at least $65 per hour massage so you save in the quantity in how often you use the plan. I am originally from San Diego and over there I paid closer to the $70-80 range for a quality massage so believe me this plan is worth it. Also I forgot to mention that, because I had a harvard pilgrim insurance plan my first massage was free with my membership. Ask yourself when was the last time you ever got a free 1 hour massage? Didn't think so. I am giving this place 4 stars, because I know of one other place that is better than this place. However, that other massage place is in the GREAT MORMON state of Utah where things are interesting. That other place has the most elaborate massage setup I have ever seen that delivers an experience like no other. Oh my god I can remember the time like it was yesterday. Tried to set up appointments online TWICE- both times I got a confirmation, yet when I arrived they didn't have me booked. I showed them the appointment confirmation on my phone, they nodded it was for their location/ time, and chalked it up to a "glitch". Again, twice. First time I didn't even get an apology. Second time the "solution" I was offered was to wait for an hour for someone to be available and pay full price still. Front desk staff were dismissive, no offer to follow up with management or say they'll even look into or report the glitch. I tried Westboro massage and have been very happy there. I moved from Colorado to New England. The CT Massage Envy locations were very excited to become my new "home" away from "home". However, now that I have relocated to Worcester, MA I called the Westborough store and they won't let me book a 2 hour massage and an hour facial... I'm pretty put off from this "rule" and am waiting to hear back from management to explain why. My experience is with the Massage Envy in Westborough MA. The "membership" is a scam to get you to pay for massages that they will not provide. Massage Envy did not deliver the promised services -- they cancelled my appointment because a therapist was "not available"; they were unable to schedule appointments for me because therapists were "fully booked"; and now they harass me to pay for more massages that they will not deliver. They did not provide the massages that I already paid for, and were unable to accommodate my requests for appointments; and, I just received a collection notice from a bill collector demanding that I pay for even more massages that I will not receive. So it seems that their business model is a scam. I have demanded a refund and plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office so that other consumers are not cheated by their deceptive business practices. Clearly from the reviews online, I am not the only person who has been misled with promises of flexible scheduling and the opportunity to schedule massages. Rather than scamming customers to pay for massages that are not delivered, Massage Envy would be much better served with a business model that encourages client retention because of excellent services. read more

The ambience in there is so relaxing and when time allows, I love arriving a little early to relax in front of the fireplace! I have been seeing the same masseuse (Michelle) since I joined close to a year ago. She's the best! I look forward to my massages with her and always feel so much better when I leave there. I love the hours of Massage Envy - they are open late which is so convenient for busy schedules. I was seen this morning for a 90-minute massage. When the therapist came to greet me in the Tranquil waiting room she was extremely loud. I found this disrespectful since people were there relax. When I followed her to the treatment room I noticed an odor of stale cigarette smoke, body odor and maybe like spoiled milk. I wasn't sure if this was the atmosphere its self or the therapist. When she closed the door to do the initial consult that's when I realized that it was her that the odor was coming from. I should have politely canceled the session then and there but I gave the benefit of the doubt assuming there would be an essential oil diffuser on or something similar to mask the smell. We went over my trouble areas which I assumed she would spend extra time on. I didn't feel like she spend any extra time on the trouble areas that I pointed out. The smell the whole time was nauseating. Personal hygiene should really be a requirement in this line of work. Also my 90-minute session was only 70 minutes worth of massage. The first 10 minutes was her talking and then the last 10 minutes was for me to get dressed. The session started officially at 9:10 and ended at 10:20. I recommend saving your hard-earned money and going somewhere else. read more

I went for a massage to help alleviate the lower back pain that I've been plagued with for many years. Every now and then it flairs up and I need message therapy to relax the muscles. I have gone to dedicated sports/therapeutic massage specialists in the past to address this issue but I no longer live in the same area as those I've visited. I really needed some help and found Massage Envy by searching for this service in the Westborough area and thought I'd take a chance for a last-minute massage appointment. The facilities are beautiful (located in a nondescript strip shopping center in the town and I was pleasantly surprised--beyond what I was expecting) and the staff greeted me warmly when I arrived. I was led to a well-appointed waiting area after I finished filling out my first-time health form. My massage therapist--Michelle--escorted me to the session room and explained how she would approach my particular ailment. I chose a 90-minute massage and I couldn't have been more pleased with Michelle's technique. She found a lot of tension in my upper back that contributed to the pain in my lower back and I left feeling close to pain-free. Because of this satisfying experience I decided to enroll in a 12-month membership that offers monthly one-hour massages for $59.99 as well as additional massages for $39.99/hr. This is a great value based on what other studios charge for massage, and there is an option to extend the one hour to 90 minutes for an additional $20--still an exceptional value. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for regular massage therapy. read more

This location asked to keep my credit card on file in order to honor my appointments. I informed them that I am a member with monthly payments coming out of my card every month. They insisted that if i didn't give them second card to keep on file, they would cancel all my appointments. I again informed them that in addition to being a member, I had 10 unused credits to my account. They said keeping a second card on file was their policy. I asked if it was a policy I had signed. They said that it was not corporate policy but their Westborough location policy. I asked to see that policy. They replied that they did not have it in written format to give or show it to me. I finally gave them one more out. I asked that if they could not show me a copy of this policy at the time of my next appointment, they should delete my second card information from file. They refused to do this too. Basically the Westborough location is saying that they don't honor the signed contract I have had with Massage envy for the last 4 years which allows me to use my credits to make appointments at any Massage envy location. So they say that separate rules apply to this location as opposed to other Massage envy centers because they are a franchise and can come up with their own rules without providing supporting documentation. I don't think they realize that keeping someone's credit card information on file needs supporting documentation delineating the conditions under which the card will be charged. The holder of the card needs to consent to these conditions without threat of repercussions like on the spot cancellation of all appointments. This location was unable to provide any such documentation. read more

Buyer beware! I bought my wife a gift card for a massage and facial. I spoke with the receptionist at length about services they provided and paid for those, tip included. As a gift, the recipient shouldn't have to pay for anything. I joked with my wife before she went to make sure they don't try to get another tip. Sure enough, they did. She was told that prices had gone up and that the gift card had a lesser amount on it. My receipt had the amount with tip on it. The two women I spoke with were apologetic, rightfully so, and one blamed this problem on "corporate," insinuating a computer glitch. When buying gift cards and the recipients do not know the actual amount on the card, people can be ripped off. This is what happened here.
