A MUST GO! Best massage I've had! I don't understand where anything negative is coming from. We went in today for a couples massage. It was a last minute decision and after some quick google searches I found this gem. We called and were luckily able to get a same day appointment. When we arrived we were greeted by a couple of friendly staff and each given a sheet to fill out (the usual on medical history, problem or focus areas, etc). Promptly after we were done with our questionnaire we were offered water and lead to the massage room. The masseuses were prompt and quick to arrive. Our MASSAGE WAS AMAZING! I wished I remembered their names! JUST SO RELAXING, exactly what I needed. This specific day was raining and we could hear the rain hitting the roof of the building (not too loud just soothing like it was audio put in on purpose). They addressed all our problem areas and got all the kinks and knots. I honestly felt like I breathed better! It's very well kept up, clean! Pricing is very reasonable and affordable! read more

This is a great deal for $49. Though the facilities are not top quality, it is clean and comfortable. I asked for a deep massage to get the knots out of my back and neck, and the masseuse got every last knot out. It was probably the best massage I've gotten. This place is a no-nonsense, no frills "spa," but it does the trick. There was a bit of noise (people watching TV/eating dinner) from the adjacent rooms, but for the price, it didn't bother me at all. Overall: I would not recommend. Reasons: Their website listed a couple's massage for $98 an hour and they charged me $59 per hour, per person. They also said that there was a "10 dollar tip minimum for each massage therapist" which I was unhappy with given my dissatisfaction with my massage therapist. My therapist: I'm not sure he knew what he was doing and he didn't speak english. He kept rubbing my tendons over my bones like that was supposed to feel good. There was a wait next door at my nail place so I decided to walk in and see if I could get a 60 minute relaxing massage. I have never been here before, but they do take walk-ins. The lady at the front desk said they were having a special - $49 for a 60 minute massage, so I went with that. My masseuse, Helen, was great, I would highly recommend her. She talked to me beforehand, was methodical, has strong hands and short fingernails. She offered me a tiny cup of water afterwards which was nice, but I definitely needed to hit up a water fountain (deep tissue makes you crazy thirsty!). I tried to talk to the lady at the front desk about regular pricing when they are not having a special (I wanted to tip based on the regular price) but she was a bit vague. She told me that they do a monthly membership for $49/mo recurring charge, which gives you one 60 minute massage per month, and you can share packages among families. I don't like to do memberships so I asked how much it would be if I came back in next week for the same thing and she said "it would be like $59" which is still a good deal. The menu pricing was completely different - $98 for all 60 minute massages. The people at the spa were super nice, but I got the sense they really want you to sign up for a monthly membership. Great session today with Nancy. Left the spa feeling relaxed to the max!!!. Some reviewers complain about the inability of some therapists to speak english, if you point to the spot and give simple instructions like medium or hard they definitely understand. Please don't expect them to talk fluently in english. I'd prefer very less talkin and more of the massaging. Front desk ladies were nice. To those that take offense when being asked if they gave a tip, try to understand that if you tip your food server then you should place massage on top of the totem pole. The front desk is simply reminding its clients just in case you forget and are looking after their good therapists to be rewarded accordingly. I feel great after my visit today. If you are looking for a "red door" experience, this is not the place to go. However, if you want a great massage at a good price, this is a great place to go. I think many of the comments here are expecting champagne service on a beer budget. It is true that many employees don't speak great English, but that is not any different from many of the massage providers in the area; same goes for other complaints I see here about the "ambiance". The therapist did also massage my buttocks-which I love! The glutes are just like any other muscle in the body and should be given attention. That being said, my therapist was fantastic and had give me a wonderful deep tissue massage and I plan on visiting again soon. read more

Similar to other reviews - this is not your 'upscale day spa' experience. This is a great local place to go to routinely for a 'no frills, get to the point' massage. That said - Massage Spring is sort of hit or miss. I have had really great massages, and I have brought friends whose massages were less than stellar. My last massage was great and deep tissue, but focused only on my backside. When I was flipped over, I was aching for my shoulders/arms/hands/ to get some real love, but was told to choose between a head massage or foot massage. I even asked if I could just get a little frontal shoulder work done and I would pay the difference, but maybe the language barrier caused the confused looks? I will go back, because you can't beat a $49 massage, but this is a place I would keep in your arsenal of relatively reliable cheap spots. read more

I've been lucky. I first went here to redeem a gift certificate and was assigned to Joy. What impressed me on my first and several following visits was her expertise and hard work. She knows what she's doing and she works hard for the whole time, even if it's 90 minutes, instead of slacking off after a half hour or 45 minutes like some other therapists. The spa offers excellent rates, too, if you buy the pay-in-advance plan. The rooms and tables are clean and attractive and there is usually plenty of parking, and it's close to a Metro station. I gave this review a lot of thought during my one hour not so relaxing massage. I'll start with the pros: The place seems to be very clean. Whereas many of these discount massage places are simply a bed separated by curtains, this massage location has separate rooms with actual massage tables. You undress for the massage, versus keeping your clothes on at other places. The price is much more affordable than a spa. So why three stars? Truthfully the three stars were earned from the criteria listed above. The massage itself did nothing to contribute to any positive feelings I have about this place. Bottom line is this: these are not certified massage therapists. There is next to no reason for a masseuse to need to hoist themselves halfway up onto the table with you, nor should elbows dig into your back be a utilized technique, but alas, here we are. You may very well go to this location and have a positive massage experience. It seems that there are at least a dozen employees working at any given time, so the odds could potentially be in your favor. But again, this is a massage that has the potential to do more harm than good - - rubbing at muscles in any random way, with varying degrees of pressure, with various body parts does not = quality massage. Having gotten chiropractic work as well as certified massage therapist massages, I can tell you that I am very hopeful that I will not be in a great deal of pain tomorrow. Again, you cant just squeeze at and assault muscles without expecting it to cause any problems! So, all in all it's not the worst place. Truthfully I may scour these reviews for a masseuse that is recommended consistently and check them out. For $50 it could be worth it, but chances are we're all better off elsewhere. read more

There were hands, forearms, elbows, rolling ping, and bowling ball involved. I even drooled once...maybe twice. My name is Ken. I was here for the 4:30pm foot massage today. I typically don't write review but I really feel like this was a horrible visit. I have been having foot massage the past 16 years and I have to admit this one is the worst. First , the front desk lady sent me a female therapist and said she will give good foot massage. The therapist uses soft hands and I told her repeatedly for nearly 10 time 'please press harder'. She nod her head but ignored my request during the entire 60 mins session. I complained to the front desk lady that this wasn't really a foot massage. The front desk lady doesn't seem to care after I have expression my frustration. To be honest, I don't mind paying more money for a good foot massage rather than spending an hour having a person applying oil onto my foot. In short, avoid this place and go to Lan Foot Spa a block away and hope Massage Spring sees it's autumn days soon. I passed a sign advertising a $39 massage at a new spa near my work. I was happy to see it, as I've been getting massage for years and wanted to give them a shot. I had a rough week so far and was uber stressed. Luckily I had a break in afternoon meetings and was free until I got my kids from school. I phoned and asked if they had a last minute opening for an hour at 3pm. I arrived and they took some information and took me to a waiting area. Afterwards I my masseuse took me to the room where I got on the table. She checked in frequently about pressure and after a while asked me to turn over and started working on my neck/head. She then said something while I was half asleep and I said ok. Then she asked me in very poor english something about "how much time" and I said one hour, because I had phoned for the $39 hour massage. There was more bad conversation as she didn't understand and said "let me get manager." She returned and never brought the manager and I was confused, but just tried to relax and enjoy. Even though I was tuned out in a nappish state it seemed more than an hour had passed, so I looked at the clock. I had been there almost an hour and a half or so. I ask her why and she said something about "you say more hour" or something. I said there must have been a mistake and that I had to leave (I actually was unable to get my kids and had to phone my husband). I was willing to chalk this up as an innocent communications mistake until I went up front to pay. Since I had the time to get dressed I assumed she would tell her manager. I went out and asked almost laughingly if the masseuse told the manager about the mistake and his response clarified that this was indeed standard business. He said "there is no mistake, you booked a two hour session." I reminded him of the phone conversation and he wouldn't acknowledge it. Since this was agitating me I decided it was not worth the fight; That I would pay double the rate I was quoted and chalk it up to a life lesson. So I did, but told the manager as clearly as possible that he had lost a customer that would not be returning and advising his co-workers to avoid. I have received massage from spas on four continents and never once have I been asked in the middle of trying to tune out the world if I wanted more time. Much less in horrible english. Lan Foot Spa is a block away and frequently has groupons. Even still their manager is happy to offer the groupon rate without the coupon itself sometimes. The service is better and you get an amazing full body massage, plus you get to soak your feet in fresh, clean bucket of some special tea while you wait. Go there. read more

I would NOT recommend going here. In fact, pretty sure they are a "happy endings" massage parlor. I went with a Groupon. The woman used baby oil and had no clue what she was doing - it was actually painful because it felt like she was taking the skin off my back by just rubbing in circles over and over again. While on the table, I kept hearing men coming and going. About three months later I saw a story on the news how this spa had been busted as part of a prostitution ring. Uhhh, gross. I recently went here after I saw the business from getting a mani/pedi at Cindy's Nails (great salon!!) I called and was able to make an appointment that fit my schedule. I booked the introductory 60 minute massage for $39. Let me just say, best decision I've made this year. I have been sick and on bed rest for over a month so my upper back and shoulders were just one giant knot. My masseuse asked me my trouble areas and as we talked we decided it was best to focus the hour soley on my upper back and shoulders. I must say, aside from some pain due to the size of the knots in my back, it was the best massage I've had in a long time. In fact, I signed up for their massage program and plan to return several times a month. It was so refreshing to have a massage done by someone who truely understands anatomy and bodywork. I can't think of a reason to deduct any stars! I emailed via the website to make two appointments for myself and my boyfriend on a Thursday morning. 2 days before I needed the appointments, there were 2 available for us at the exact time I needed. When we arrived they were just opening up and were quick to get us our paperwork and move us to the back waiting room with darker lighting and mood music. Since they were opening they were actually a little behind and my massage started about 10 minutes later than scheduled but I was still given my full 60 minutes. The massage itself was fabulous - I asked for strong hands and I got them. I forgot the name of the therapist, but she was fantastic and concentrated on the areas I had written down on my initial paperwork. When I met up with my boyfriend in the front waiting room he had the same reaction as me "Oh my gosh". We both had fantastic, deep, relaxing massages and I enjoyed it far more than previous massages from different places. The price is sustainable -$49 for 60 minutes and even better if you become a "member", $39/month for a 60 minute massage. This may very well become a monthly habit. 3 days later and I still feel loose, relaxed, and refreshes after visiting Massage Spring! read more

I bought an hour massage for one of my employees. My girl let me know the massage was ok, and she actually fell asleep. She gave Jenny a $10 tip, which apparently offended jennny. Jenny continued to say that clients give at least $15 dollar tips each time. As a business owner, I would be upset that I may lose a potential frequent customer because of not tipping what any of my employees feel they deserve. Of course I don't run massage spas, but I assume this behavior would be unacceptable. Over the years I have learned that not everyone can tip what we feel we deserve. But we must do everything possible to impress our first time customers, so we can have potentially repeat customers and referrals. And treat any paying customers like royalty, because those are the ones that put food on my family's table. I won't give this place a 1star rating simply because maybe the owner can speak to Jenny about her arrogance. I though I may try this place since it's closer to me than the (competitor name here) where I have a membership. I went there feeling I am carrying100 lb weight on my both shoulders and some back pain but all of those were gone after the massage.
