If you love deep tissue, this is your spot! After a week of travel my body was just aching and desperately needed some TLC. It was my first time at this place and Katie meticulously worked her way from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes. I especially have neck and shoulder issues and she knew exactly where my pain points were and was able to work out the kinks and knots. I hadn't even told her about my lower back issues but she could tell they were tight just by feeling my legs and glutes so she gave those a lot of attention too in ways I didn't know I needed. Very frustrated. I visited for my first time last week and again tonight for a scheduled 2 hour massage. I made the appointment with Arnon 4 days ago, when I entered I acknowledged I had an appointment. They had me go into the room and 15 mins after my appointment time the therapist came in the room to start. For the 2nd time it was not with Arnon. Nothing frustrates me more than an appointment for massage or nails with a specific person and with no acknowledgement someone else works on you. What if hair studios did that? When I lived in Mission Valley, I became hooked on deep tissue massage by going to Massage Thai Way 2 on Mission Gorge. I recently moved to Poway and I have gone to the Poway location twice so far. The experience across locations is consistent in that they both offer an amazing and relaxing massage at a really good price. The Poway location is now my go-to when I have kinks that need to be rubbed out. I highly recommend Massage Thai Way to those on a budget who like a deep tissue massage. 4 stars instead of 5 only because the walls are thin and you can sometimes hear other people talking to their masseuse. My mother and I have been coming to Massage Thai Way for the last four years, initially to the location on Ulric St and then to the location in Poway since it was closer to home. We have gotten the most AMAZING massages in the past.......and consistently. Today, I made a reservation for a 90 min Thai massage for two, but what we got was more of a Swedish deep tissue massage (minus the deep). We didn't get the yoga like stretching or the deep acupressure that we had gotten countless of times in the past. As a result, my mother and I were left with most of the tension and knots that we had arrived with. Too much oil and light skin pressure w hot stones. Neither of us had had our masseuses before. Mine seemed somewhat young and inexperienced. The owner, who is very nice and receptive, really wanted to make things right so I am changing my rating. Authentic Thai massage is re-energizing and uplifting. Truly hoping they can keep offering the high quality they have been known for in the past and that this was just an isolated incident. read more

My husband and I frequent the Linda Vista location quite often, so we were enthused to hear they had a location closer to us in North county! They just opened January 15th and its located in a business park in the back of Poway. On Sunday the owner was there to greet us prior to the massage. Linda was my masseuse & she was so good! She worked out all the knots in my shoulders & didn't disappoint. Hubby was also happy with his massage though we didn't catch her name. Thai massages in general seem awesome and I can't believe I've never gotten one. 90 minutes was perfect, I couldn't have done a minute less. I'm naturally cold all the time, and she noticed and gave me hot stones throughout the entire massage to hold. Told me about Chinese medicine and how this means my energy is low. I'm a very fit person and workout a lot, and do a lot of yoga. Been a month hiatus from yoga so all natural body aches have come back (I feel amazing all the time when I do yoga daily) so I needed a massage to break up the fascia before I got back into it. I have personally been to all the Thai way places all over San Diego many times and have always had great experiences. I decided to try the Poway location for my first time. Unfortunately the lady I had was awful. I am experienced with Thai massage so I know what to expect. She was all over the place but no where if you know what I mean, very very inexperienced. She also kept going in and out of the room. I asked her to focus on my feet from the beginning of our session and and she never did. I asked her again toward the end of the session and she completely disregarded. At the end of our session she insisted I leave her a good tip, I obviously was going to tip her but for her to ask the way she did so unprofessional and I won't be going back to Poway. read more

I've paid more for spa massages and gotten far less than what I experience at Thai Way. Anna is the best! She is strong but listens to me and adjusts her pressure to my needs. The end result is a wonderful therapeutic Thai massage. I'm very sensitive to the hot stones when they first come out, so she will warm her hands with the stones first and then test the stones until they are perfect temperature for me.
