BF brought me here as part of our anniversary celebration. never heard of this place before surprisingly since i work out at the gym in the same plaza! this place is located in a high traffic and packed shopping center right next to Target. the BF made reservations couple weeks in advance and unfortunately, they called to cancel the day of because one of our masseuse called in sick. ok, so that really irked me because they didnt even offer a discount or anything, afterall, we were doing this as part of a celebration not just a normal typical day. so we had to make some scheduling adjustments. while i cant talk about price because i dont know how much my BF paid for our couple's massage, i will say that my experience here was pretty awesome. if its your first time, you walk in and the receptionist will have you fill out forms on a tablet. then you wait in the lobby for your masseuse to come get you. there is a little waiting room where you can have some coffee and tea as well. once they are ready for you, they take you into the room and take you through an hour of magical relaxation. the only difference between a couples massage and a regular single massage is that you're in the same room as your other half. it's not like we were faing each other chatting the whole time, we both were just in our own little world (he might have even dozed off a bit). i enjoyed my masseuse and felt that she did a wonderful job. my bf did as well, although he did mention that he would like to have a deep tissue massage next time. after our one hour session, we were offered a 15 minute hydro massage (apparently it's optional at the end). because i've never used one before, we both took our turn using it. it was just ok....not special but a nice little bonus at the end. overall, we had a great experience and would definitely go back again. read more

I got a "$39 Introductory Coupon" from the Irvine Company website and decided to try it out since it is close by. I am a regular at the Bodycentre in Costa Mesa and I love my therapist there but I just wanted to try this place for comparison. I booked a couple's massage for my husband and I. We got there about 40 min before our appointments so we tried their famous Hydroluxe water massage bed. This water bed has strong jets and you lay on it fully dressed. The powerful jets go up and down the entire body massaging it. My husband thought it was soothing but I didn't quite enjoy it, had to stop the machine before my 15 min was up. The jets were too powerful and when it got close to my neck/head it just felt really uncomfortable. We were the last customers for the night since our appointments were at 9 pm. My therapist was Michelle and she was amazing. I was completely relaxed after my session. The receptionist offered their monthly subscription for $58.99 but I don't like to feel the pressure of a subscription even though you can cancel it anytime after one pay period. Without the membership I would end up paying more than I pay at the Bodycentre. This place is nice and clean but all the harsh lighting is not very inviting or relaxing for a spa setting. read more

I can NOT say enough about this place! I LOVE massages and have been looking for a massage therapist who can handle all of my spinal/back issues with care, finesse and healing hands. I have had 2 major back surgeries and a broken back (all within 3 years) and I still suffer from chronic pain, muscle spasms and the need for additional surgery. My husband found a Groupon for Massage Luxe and so we decided to try it on a whim. I was very skeptical, thinking this was going to be similar to Massage Envy (which is just barely decent as I generally leave hurting more than feeling better) but boy was I surprised, especially when I found out that they had only been open for two weeks at that time! First of all, the place is very modern and clean and the girls at the front desk are amazing!!! They are so bubbly and friendly but at the same time provide a very relaxing environment. When you fill out your obligatory paperwork, you do it on an iPad. I loved this as this cuts down on data entry error and if there IS any incorrect information, truly it is your own fault. Their front office/receptionist desk is very efficiently run. The actual massage room was lovely... it was warm, inviting, quiet, cozy and had the wonderful aromatherapy scent of eucalyptus wafting through the air. The massage table had a full-length heating pad underneath the bedding so I was warm and relaxed the entire massage. And I can NOT say enough about my massage therapist!!! His name was Jeff and he literally had MAGIC HANDS!!! He told me that he has worked in the past in a physical therapy office as a massage therapist so I knew that I was in great hands for my physical ailments. Jeff was superior in his skill, knowledge and ability in massage. He took away all of my pain and left me feeling like jello. I have NEVER left a massage feeling so relaxed and energized at the same time. I truly felt like I could go out and run a marathon... I felt that good! After my massage was over, Jeff gave me pointers on stretches to do daily so that I could maintain the benefits of my massage for a few more days. He also gave me some advice on how to keep my back limber and the pain at bay. He recommended a massage schedule for me and for the first time I intend to follow it as I know that his advice was based solely on my physical needs rather than his hope for more money in his pocket. All in all, I can NOT give Massage Luxe a higher rating as they have set the bar!!! No, it is not a Spa Gregory's, a Burke Williams, a Ritz Carlton spa, etc., but who needs those high priced spas when you can get a far superior massage and experience at a much more affordable price? And for those nay-sayers who have written negative reviews here on Massage Luxe, I challenge you to try them again... this time with Jeff as your therapist! read more

Everything here felt brand spankin new! The cool interior, hip decor and posh staff make you feel more fresh even before your massage begins. Came here to try out a massage with the introductory deal available to first-time customers, which I think is a great deal. If you're around the Irvine area, this place is definitely worth checking out. They offered us a trial of the Hydromassage before, but since I was there with my +1, there wasn't enough time for both of us to try it. We decided massage first, then hydro bed. The room they put you in to wait for your therapist is simple and chic, with beverages available. I made myself a hot English Breakfast tea, and felt my stress begin to melt away. My massage therapist was professional and friendly. She was a tiny girl with a lot of power! I loved it! Turns out, I am not a fan of that HydroLuXe thing. It was weird and felt like someone was spraying me with a hose through a piece of rubber. Also, not sure how often they clean the plastic HydroLuXe bed (?) but I got up way before my 15 minutes was up. My boyfriend didn't have quite an enjoyable experience as I. Although we went in the same time, he was out about 5-10 minutes before me, and felt his massage was cut short. He also said his therapist, prior to starting, said "hey.. I only do light massages." Quite odd... I've been to a lot of massage places where they really make you feel pampered and loved. MassageLuXe isn't really one of those places. You're in, you're out and you're done. Irritated with this place. Aurora, gone. Ingrid, moved. It's usually clean so it gets a star for that. Harder to get an appointment now, which is probably good for them but isn't for me. I got a hot stone massage here once and during it I was thinking "is this almost done now?" Just not that great and i didn't feel very relaxed after. Thats when i decided to stick with my two favorites, Aurora and Ingrid, who aren't there anymore anyway. Numerous times they wouldn't have the aromatherapy I wanted. Always out. The biggest thing about this place is their cancelation of contract policy. I think it's bad practice. If you cancel, you lose your hours which you certainly paid for! It's stealing and it's wrong. I wanted to do something special for the owner of the booming Auto Glass business that I  manage. However, this isnt a guy you can simply buy a gift certificate for. He would never bother to call and schedule it. So I needed to think of a special surprise for him, since he was determined to work on his birthday. I had the idea to create a fake service call at a Massage parlor and when he arrived looking for the customer, he would find out that he was the one getting a service instead.  I called over to MassageLuxe after reading their reviews and spoke with the girls and they were eager to work with me on my plans to make it a special surprise. Not only did they write down exactly what I wanted them to say, but they even agreed to use their cell phone to take a video of his reaction to the surprise (which was a funny treat for all of us at the office). After it was all said and done my boss was very happy with his massage from Lacey and was in a relaxed and positive mood the rest of the day. He talked about the experience for several days after and brings it up whenever someone mentions his birthday. My best massage to date. I called last minute for a couples massage and was told about the special. They front desk was very helpful and patient which made us feel comfortable to go here. We were told to arrive 30 minutes early to try the hydro bed after completing the forms. It was a pretty interesting experience. It feels like a shiatsu massage chair with jacuzzi jets. We were taken to the back shortly after and we were asked where we wanted the focus of the massage to be. Amanda was the best masseuse I've ever had. Best massage to date! The Groupon voucher was originally intended for my mom, who decided not to go, so on a recent SoCal family trip, hubby and I decided to redeem the voucher and buy their intro massage. Upon entry, we were greeted cordially, given tablets to complete registration, and offered tea. So far, so good! Amanda worked on me, and she has, by far, given me my best massage. I asked for her to work on only my top half, focusing on my upper back and shoulder areas, which are the most tense. Everything she was doing felt like it had... purpose. To clarify, I've received massages that felt as if they were just rubbing and elbowing their way to pass time. With Amanda, it's like she knew exactly where my most troublesome spots were and really worked on relieving those tense areas. My husband was worked on by Roland, who also happens to be a physical therapist. Having had lower back and right hip issues, Roland, without having been told prior, was able to spot these trouble areas. Hydro Bed was okay. Felt good against my back but I wasn't wowed by it. We've been to several North San Francisco Bay areas (particularly Petaluma, Santa Rosa), and all have paled in comparison to the quality of massage we received. Both Amanda and Roland have set the bar, and our goal is to find a place up here that delivers like they did. Until then, we'll wait until our next family visit... in a few months! read more

I had a terrible massage at Massage Luxe. You get what you pay for I guess. Never will I ever fall for another introductory rate at a massage membership spa. I have yet to experience a really good massage by any of these places. I highly recommend the body centre in costa mesa. The service was alright. The girl at the front desk was friendly and she didn't push me into buying any of their packages. She offered me a complimentary 15 min session in the hydroluxe. The place is well kept. It's clean and they have a nice waiting lounge. but the decor was very corporate which was more annoying than relaxing. Oh and their "cucumber infused water" was cheap and disgusting. Obviously tap water out of the faucet garnished with cucumbers. My massage was weak. Really weak. I asked my therapist for firmer pressure several times and I that I preferred a kneading massage and no elbows. I told him I wanted a deep tissue and he gave me a swedish. His arms were really hairy I think too, because it was very uncomfortable for me when he was rolling out my back. I'll spare you the details. Yuck. His method was slow. Very slow. After he wiped off the oil or lotion, he dropped the dirty damp towel on the floor in the corner of the room. Wayyy GROSS. They should stock the rooms with hampers or bins and collect them after they tidy the rooms. No reason to treat your client rooms like your own bedrooms kids. So, no I do not recommend this place if you like good massages. But if your body doesn't know any better than this is the place for you! Ha! read more

I had a similar experience to others here. I was shorted 10min on my massage. I brought this up to the girl at the front desk and she said something along the lines of 'they allow 5min each for dressing and undressing'. Bullshit, I paid for an hour massage, not 50 minutes. And the massage itself was pretty lame. I asked the girl to concentrate on my lower back, and also for more pressure. Neither of these happened. Oh, and I really didn't care for heir waterbed. I've used one other type before and loved it because it actually felt like a massage. There's just feels like you're getting sprayed by small jets of irritating water. read more

Being a massage aficionado, I'm way pickier about the actual massage than the appearance, but I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and welcoming lobby and facilities. The staff was friendly, and my therapist Rebecca was super nice and attentive and caring. I got the prenatal massage, and she had some really nicely choreographed strokes. My biggest beef, however, is when I have to keep asking the massage therapist to go deeper. I can take it, I asked for deep tissue. GO DEEPER. Maybe you need to pay extra and get the sports or trigger point in order for them to go deeper or exert more pressure because i asked her 3 times to use more pressure, and she always was like, "absolutely! You got it!" But barely increased pressure. She even said before we started the massage when I explained what I needed, "oh so you need more than Swedish. You need pain relief more than relaxation, right?" Which was exactly correct, but it always just felt like she was barely in the verge if really getting in there and giving me that relief. :-/I guess it's just not what I'm used to having and capable of handling, especially in my shoulders and neck, which are so tight and require some intensive kneading. She was soooo nice and showed me some great stretches afterwards, and I want to give her a 5 but I can't. I did sign up for 1 month f membership to get the 2 extra messages for $60 because hey...I can't do better than that for a massage just a few minutes from my house. I figured when I need the deep relieving work ill still have to shell out more money or go to the chiropractic office, but every once in a while it is nice to have a nice, relaxing massage, so why not? Maybe ill upgrade next time to one of their specialty massages or try one of the male therapist and see if I can't get a better experience. read more

I've been here twice. Both massages were actually pretty good! But yesterday I went in...my therapist came to get me from the lounge a few min late. Then when she gave me time to change...she gave me almost 10 minutes! The massage also finished a few min early on top of that. Instead of it being an hour it was closer to 45min. Super unprofessional. When you're charging $110 for an hour and not even giving me the full hour...ridiculous. I'm not at all cheap - it's the principle of getting what you paid for. There is a lot I can say about this place but i'll keep this review short. I have never been someone who has liked being massaged or even thought it was a useful service. My opinion changed when my girlfriend insisted I get a massage from Rolan. I have had many deep tissue/sports massage sessions with him and it really feels more like physical therapy than just a massage. My body just works/feels better afterwards. I have terrible posture. I work a desk job for over 40 hours a week and often get back pain, my shoulders are internally rotated, etc. After one session with Rolan I was standing up straighter and feeling better. His recommendation to come in as often as you can is not a sales pitch, I've actually seen my progress reverse when I had my account on hold for a while. To speak on ownership, I had an issue with billing where I downgraded my membership but was still charged the higher premium for a couple of months. We brought this to Cassidy's attention and she took care of it immediately. I received a check from the owner paying me the difference, no questions asked, hassle free. There is a review on here talking about Cassidy in a bad light and I've had the exact opposite experience. Everyone at the front desk has been super nice. I was a member here for well over a year before and most of the masseuses / estheticians I've tried out here are up to par and very professional / well trained in what they do. I just wish that even with membership pricing it's not so expensive. The money you chip into your membership does accumulate if you don't use them within a month span - but it also adds up fairly quickly which kinda force you to get massage / facial done before you need one again. I received a GroupOn from my wife for this place almost a year ago and we really do like it. I lucked out because my first masseur was Natalie and she spoiled me. I have had 3 other masseurs since then and I always go back to her because she is the best. She is always friendly and asks where I am physically at the moment to make sure she does just what I need. She remembers that I've had injuries and makes sure to treat them properly. Simply awesome. The rest of the staff is friendly and nice, that being said they have had issues with their reservations. My wife and I like to get couples massages and twice now they've booked us without having a room available only to separate us upon arriving. This last time I had a chatty male who was also 30 mins late to my appointment. All in all this place is great for the price. I will from now on wait for my masseur to be available (so don't y'all go booking her). The hydra bed is a plus, coming in before your massage tho sometimes it is filled as they have only one. However, with the membership my wife and I are free to come in every single day and lay on it for 15 mins... For when you need just a little bit! read more

I went in for a massage today. I work a really stressful job so I was very tense and I have a shoulder injury that has been bugging me as well. I called to make an appointment and mentioned to the receptionist I saw online there was a $58 introductory massage rate. She says it's actually $60 but we will honor it. Ok, what's $2 but on Yelp it does say $58 so... So I make my appointment, head in fill out all the forms, use the hydro massage thing which is nice but I prefer a real massage, and then I was shown back to my room. I let me masseuse know what I was expecting from the massage where I felt the worst and we were off and rolling. The massage was OK. I've had better. I feel there was a lot of useless pressure points being pushed on and not a lot of actual massaging going on. I did ask for an additional hot stone add on which the masseuse told me was $11. When I went out to pay, the receptionist came out and tried to get me to sign up for the membership. She started explaining, messed up and another lady came out to help her out. I wasn't interested in the membership, I rarely have time to get a massage once every 6 months let alone every month. Then she tells me it was going to be $80! Wait... you told me it was 60 and with the hot stone add on it should have been 71? Well apparently it's only $60 if you sign up for the membership. And this is why I hate these massage places. They force you into signing up for their memberships and convince you it's one thing and it ends up being way more. Not impressed. And it's upsetting because it was a really nice place. *update* The owner reached out to me and offered me a free massage to come back and try again so I finally went in last week. I had a membership for multiple months. The nice part was that when I skipped a month it would roll over and I could even upgrade my massages. For my first few months and I went to Trixi and she was PERFECT. The pressure was firm and you could feel that she wasn't straining. When I found out she left i gave someone new a try and it was alright. Not even her name was memorable. My last massage was with Jesse (this was in May) and afterwards I knew I needed to cancel. (Glad I did, he had used so much oil that it ruined my brand new blouse!) If Trixi was still there I probably would still be a member. read more

I really needed a spa day so I decided to go back to get another massage and to try a facials. I had a basic 50 minute facial with Katy. The esthetician rooms are not very cozy. Dirty and cheap looking. The facial itself was good, not great. For extractions, she used a tool and basically just lightly scrapped without pushing anything out. Her facial massage, hand and arm massage was the best part. I was left with mask still on my face so I used the restroom to clean the rest off. No eye cream, no sunscreen....very mediocre service and products. I then had a 90 minute massage with Jessica. My facial ran over so I did not get into my massage until 15 min late. She cut my time short too so I told the front desk when I checked out. The massage was interesting. She was very rough and spastic (sighing a lot, being loud with the towel warmer/equipment, throwing the dirty towels on the floor). The first 20 min, I was thinking about leaving but it got a bit better. I was able to relax and she seemed to be more consistent with rhythm and fluidity. She did help my stiff neck and shoulders but never once asked me if the pressure was ok or checking in with how I was doing. very disappointed- don't think I will return. read more

Disclaimer: I was a first timer (haven't been one to go to spas or get massages) and I was extremely impressed. I took advantage of the Groupon they were doing a few months ago as a gift from my office. Best decision I ever made. They are extremely friendly upon arrival (offer you water, tea and a nice lounge area) and make you feel very relaxed - which is the point, right? As part of the Groupon I was able to take advantage of 15 minutes on their HydroLuXe and that was a great warm up to the actual massage. To give you an idea, it is basically a warm waterbed that shoots jets up and down your body. I was very well rested before even heading in to get the massage. My masseuse was Chintamani and she was great. As she showed me to the room, she asked me if there were any specific areas I would like her to work on, and if I had any trouble areas to stay away from - which was great because I've had shoulder surgery. From there I was simply able to relax and she did an amazing job. I left completely relaxed and stress free, and I haven't felt that way in a long time. I would highly recommend MassageLuxe for anyone looking to get a great massage at a great price with great staff. And I'm happy to recommend Chintamani as well! Thanks MassageLuxe! read more

The massages are okay. The decor is nice and clean. Everyone is friendly as long as you are a member. I wanted to cancel my month-to-month membership before they charge my credit card, but I got very sick (vomiting non-stop). I called to cancel, and they said that the only way to cancel is to do it in person. Or I have to send them a certified letter. I asked even if I was dying, I would still need to come to the spa to cancel. They replied, "well you are not dying, right." I'm dragging myself to the spa to sign the cancellation form and will never go back again. read more

Review for message only: This place seems clean and well organized, they have a nice waiting area with water and tea, message rooms are quite and private. He is the sort of therapist who watches your gate as you walk out of message to see if he got all the kinks out. MassageLuxe is a great value! I recently began a monthly program of deep-tissue massage to help me train at my best. Increase flexibility, get rid of lactic acid, decrease risk of injury! Schedule with Amanda for a great deep-tissue - she's wonderful! Parking is a negative here. The experience at MassageLuXe was the best massage experience that I have ever had. I came in for the $30 intro massage and was blown away. The employees at the front are rock stars. They were very professional, sweet, kind and helpful and ensure that you have the best experience possible. Also, the hydro massage is pretty bad ass and with a membership you get unlimited access to use it. Prices here are very reasonable compared to other massage places and there is no contract. You can cancel or freeze your membership at any time. My therapist was Ashaki and I would HIGHLY recommend her. She was simply awesome. Save yourself a headache!! Go to another spa or massage parlor! The blonde girl at the front desk gave me the hardest time last year when I was a member that I decided to cancel my membership because of her. I decided to give this place another try because one of my best friends is a member and told me she didn't see that blonde girl at the front desk for a long time. When I was walking in she was sitting in the front desk and I instantly regretted my decision to come back!! I tried to reopen my account after my massage but she told me I wouldn't be able to because I was paying with a gift card?!! I left the gift card on the counter and left immediately because I did not want to deal with that woman again. This place needs friendlier staff overall. Even speaking on the phone the minute you ask them to explain something or repeat themselves they get irritated. Another thing I noticed is that this place SMELLS VERY BAD. It was a toss up between 3 or 4 stars. 3 stars for the actual massage but 5 stars for customer service and ambiance. So I gave it an average of 4 stars. I initially found this place through a Groupon link. They were offering $29 for a 60 minute massage. I was about to purchase this deal but I wanted to make sure they had couples massage and had reservations on my boyfriends birthday. I called the location and the receptionist informed me that the Groupon deal is now over but she will gladly give me the same promotion when I come in for my reservations. They confirmed that they do have couples massage [basically two rooms that can join together so you and your partner will be in the same room] and availability on my boyfriends birthday. She did mention that there will be an upcharge of $5 per person for the room. I received a courtesy call the day before to arrive 15 minutes early since we will have to fill out some survey questions. We arrived at this brand new location conveniently located at the Irvine Crossroads. We were given iPads to fill out the surveys. Pretty neat! Our masseuses were still with the earlier appointment so my boyfriend got to test out their hydrobeds. You lay on the water bed fully clothed and water jets massage your choice of upper, lower, or both parts of your body. When we were led into the actual massage room, the ambiance was dim and soothing. We were instructed to strip down to our underwear and lay face down on the warm beds. We both requested deep tissue massage but I felt like it was more of a body rub more than deep tissue. =/ But I can't deny the fact that it was indeed very relaxing. I caught my boyfriend snoozing for a bit =P They used different kinds of oil and one had a menthol scent to it which was refreshing! Overall this place was good but definitely did not meet my needs for un-knotting my back. But then again, they are still brand new and might need some tweeking in their techniques. I bought a groupon for my boyfriend and I. It was fairly easy setting up an appointment. I was very happy, as sometimes companies tend to become unfriendly once you mention groupon. We were greeted and given iPads to fill out information. I was really impressed with the customer service at the front desk. She was very friendly and warm. I received a massage by Renee and she was awesome! I believe she went above and beyond, and I felt totally relaxed. I was told later that she is always booked, and I can totally understand why! While we were offered the package plan, I do not feel that we were being pushed. I really appreciated this, because this would easily turn me off from coming again. I especially liked the offer of coming anytime to try the hydroluxe bed for 15 mins, since I was unsure if I wanted to try that night (it was quite late). I thought this was generous. I ended up trying the bed and it was great! Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend people giving them a try. Last month, hubby and I had a couples massage at this spa. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and sat comfortably as we waited for our massage. Prior to our massage, it was suggested that we lie down on the hydro bed to relax our muscles. I have to admit, it was weird at first. But after a few minutes, I got used to it and enjoyed the experience. After the hydro bed, we were escorted to our massage room. Anthony was my masseuse and he was great. He was very attentive and asked me which areas I felt needed extra attention. I really enjoyed my massage. And hubby enjoyed his also. read more

I'm really happy with the place and the service I have received. Everytime I've seen a different therapists and I haven't been disappointed. It's hard to find a good therapist but I had no problem here. June is one of my favorite therapist he takes the time to explain stretches you can do at home after your massage. Also the facility is clean and enjoyable they also offer you hot tea and water. I would really recommend this place and became a monthly member. read more

Wow! I've been many places to get a Swedish massage, and this place is really good. Specially Paula, she was so sweet and professional, i was able to feel that I'm relax and calm which is the most important for me when i get a massage. I booked a couples massage here for our anniversary, when I booked the appointment the girl told us to arrive 30 mins early so we could do the hydrotherapy treatment before we went in, we arrived 30 mins before our session and filled out the forms, the receptionist took us to a waiting area where she told us someone would be right with us. After sitting and waiting for 20+ mins I went and asked when we would be taken back for hydrotherapy and she nonchalantly said 'oh, you have like 5 minutes left if you want to use it' to make it worse they only have 1 bed so my bf and I had to share the last 5 minutes we could use it. Finally they took us back for the massage, I had specifically asked for the therapist not to work on my feet and focus on my neck and back, sure enough she focuses primarily on my calves and feet. Twice I asked her during the massage to focus back on my neck and sure enough she just had me flip over to work on my feet some more. My bf (who I was hoping was having a better time then I was) encountered the same issue, the girl put very little pressure despite him asking multiple times for deep tissue, and worked on areas that weren't sore or tight.
