I wish I could give three and a half stars because generally I do like this place however, a few weeks ago this happened... I was recently out of town and received a phone call my card was declined and they would need a new card on file in order to either freeze or continue my membership. I informed the receptionist on the call I would not be able to do this because first my purse was stolen and I hadn't received a new card And second I was out of town due to a family emergency. She repeatedly said I HAD to come in to freeze my account then, provide some sort of card or payment or I would lose my 6.5 hours that I had accumulated and was extremely rude on the phone even though I remained calm. I asked for the manager and was told they would call me back the next day. I did receive a call and the manager was able to help me however every time I speak to a receptionist who is not a manager I almost always receive an attitude or a hard time. I'm upset there was no sympathy shown especially since I have been a loyal client for almost two years. The massages and facials I receive here are amazing now that I know who are my favorites.. In fact I'm never disappointed with these services at all. I wish the owners would step up the level of service that is given at the front desk ESPECIALLY in an industry where service is suppose to be above and beyond exceptional. I am considering cancelling my membership here because I time and time again experience issues with the receptionists here. I have been a member for years and this place is reasonably priced. I travel all the way from LA because this place has two of my favorite massage therapists that can actually relieve my muscle tension: Anthony and Robert. I love this place. Very calm and professional. The water table out front is my favorite. And they even offer tea or cold water which is a nice touch. I have been coming here for a couple months now and I love the way I have been treated. My boyfriend and I have come for couples massages too in the same room together which is nice. I have heard horror stories of massage parlors and I can safely say I have never had an issue with cleanliness, friendliness, or professional conduct of the staff. My favorite masseuse is Mathew. I felt so relaxed from my hour massage, that I was in such a relaxed state all day long. The 5 stars is for their masseuse Roland. He was amazing. Told him about my car accident and he knew exactly where to work to release the tensions. By that point I had 6 months of physical therapy that did not even help. One hour with his "god-like" hands and I was on a cloud for the first time in months. I want to qualify my review in that I am giving five stars for JUST the massage. I am not a monthly member and don't know anything about it. I have been to several different massage spas and the one I had yesterday was on the of the best I've ever had. Now normally I do go to spas that charge $40-50/hour and this one's regular price is $74/hour. I came in with the intro special of $48/hour. I can't remember of my female massage therapist but she was petite and none of the names in the reviews ring a bell. She did a great job working out my knots in my back and used massage cream instead of the traditional oil (non-fragrant and non-greasy!). She realized how bad my back was and asked me in the middle of the massage whether I wanted her to continue focusing on it or do a full body. I opted for the upper torso only. The facilities are very clean and spacious. The massage bed is warming and moves up and down to meet the massage therapist's needs. If you are new to the spa, you need to come a few minutes early to fill out waiver forms and contact info. Also, 15 minutes prior to your appointment, you can use their hydro massage bed. They also offer small water bottles before and after your massage. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my massage. Although I didn't want to commit to the monthly membership since I'm a consultant and don't live in the area, the front desk lady offered me a second deal for a 1 1/2 hour massage @ $68! read more

My second home. I cannot explain how much I love this place. They're so much fun! I used to travel a lot so my body took a major beating from all the flights. So I'd come in every 2 weeks for a deep tissue massage, BUT it's not your typical massage. Rolan corrects everything. Puts my muscles back where it belongs and stretches out all the knots. I had a bad experience with one of the new masseuse but they were so open about giving me back my hr and of course. Rolan fixed it. It's incredible. I almost don't even want to share this review bc it's already super hard to get an apt with him. I recently became a lot of food so my body is constantly aching and sitting at work 7-8 hrs a day kills. So I try to get in at least once a month for a corrective deep tissue massage. I absolutely LOVE the Four Layer facial! Whitney was my esthetician and she's very sweet and educated. My skin was glowing! UPDATE: The skincare line does contain perfume/fragrance so if you're sensitive to that then be wary. I've been going to Massage Luxe for a couple years now I have a membership. I've had many different massage therapist and they've all been great. For the past year I've been seeing one massage therapist mainly as he is so knowledgeable on the body and pressure points and really helps me with all ailments.(my hip my back my sciatica etc.) While it's not always a comfortable deep tissue massage it's definitely therapy that is needed for health and wellness. I have been wanting to get a massage since I took a week off from work I decided its time for a massage.. I was searching thru YELP on a descent massage place and i was kinda skeptical to book a massage thru massage envy since reading all bad reviews from them.. So i happen to see MAssageluxe and read the mixed reviews about this is place.. i called and made an appointment.. the person on the phone was helpful and nice.. Today I saw Jocelyn and she was very imformative because i was telling her the work i do and lately i have been accumulating A LOT of stress at work.. i told her that main areas i wanted her to focus on which was my upper area-mainly shoulders and neck thats where all my stress is at.. Once she got started she already felt the knots and tension i have.. she gave me pointers on what to do if i can't get a regular massage which i thought was good.. and after my massage i went and did the hyrdoluxe which was ah-mazin and it was only 15 min on the hydroluxe which accumlated as 45 min deep tissue massage.. :) My overall experience with this place was good lets say its not a day spa like glen ivy and burke williams.. I made an appointment for a facial because I had to use a gift card that I got for my birthday. The website does not list prices for facials and I assumed that it would be a one hour facial as it is a norm. The receptionist told me it would be $60 for the glyco peel facial. Then I got a call that this is the price for new members only and I had been there before for a massage, so the price for me would be $110. I still went because I wanted to use the gift card. Deb was good but my facial was finished in less than 30 minutes and she said the glyco peel is typically 30 minutes. This is exorbitant pricing for a 30 minute facial. I went here a month ago and they told me over the phone the price is 48 for first time clients but when we got there they decided it's actually 58 dollars and that their own website it wrong?? I'm a member and have had several great therapists there. A few of my faves have recently left but I found a new gem today!! Michael was very strong and really got after the specific areas I told him needed attention. He did a lot of leg stretching/glute stretching (which for me isn't awkward but could be for some) and I feel a lot better as a result!! He's not chatty, he's working! He does a really great job! Probably one of the worst massages I have ever had. The massage therapist seemed to position himself at an awkward angle. I get between 3-6 massages/year, always deep tissue, and I expect to have the therapist work on my knots at least for a few seconds, not just push randomly on my back with his forearm. I've only had 4 deep tissue massages done in my life, but this place was by far my best experience thus far. I was able to book an appointment the same day for after work hours and my masseuse, Matthew, was fantastic! I really liked that they started off with the hydromassage (since I got there 10 mins early) and used aromatherapy during my massage. Places I had been to previously charged $10 extra for this. The pressure Matthew used was perfect and he was able to get all of my knots out. It also helped that I was able to use a referral coupon for my first visit...I'll definitely be back here soon! read more

I bought a membership package in 2016 September and cancelled it the following month in October. They told me that I needed to come in a sign the iPad in order to cancel. November - March 2017 I am still getting charges on my credit card. Let me just tell you that I even spoke to the owner herself about this issue... she denied the fact that I came in to cancel and would only refund for one month. It's March 2017, and I am seeing charges on my credit card once again. WTF. I've never been charged so many months after any cancelling a membership. Pregnant women be aware!!!! Even though MassageLuXe claims it provide prenatal massage, none of its therapists, and I do mean not a single one, is certified separately for prenatal massages. The owner claims that all of their prenatal massage therapists are "trained" in school and, as a nurse, the owner has also pre-screened them. But if you're like me who's super close to your due date and desperately need a good massage on the shoulder area (the supersensitive area that may trigger labor), wouldn't you want some assurance that your therapist didn't just took some class in school? I'm sure you all remembered when you took that one or two classes in a special subject back in school and how well the subject stuck in your mind. read more

Massages are hit or miss - there are a few rare therapists that do a great job but for the most part the quality just isn't there. Also have seen them start 5 to 10 minutes late and end 10 minutes early so you're getting shorted on time. It can often take days to get scheduled for a massage, especially if you're trying to go anywhere around the weekend. Some receptionists aren't so friendly and zero flexibility if you happen to miss or reschedule last hour. They aren't as pushy for memberships as Massage Envy but more than I'd like. Not worth the price to me - some Asian massage places in Irvine charge less, use more pressure and stretching, and do a better job at the expense of communication not being as great, a bit less privacy, and preferring cash more. read more

I was a member for almost a year and my wife is member for nearly six months. They had one therapist called Natlie who left six months ago and every since I have been but disappointed with the service. Front desk would say all great things like "personally she is my best" etc. etc.. but when I try them, it is nothing close to the best. Ok so here is the fun part..or not Both me and my wife have 5 hours of massage on our account ($58 per month membership) but I can't stop the membership. If I stop, I forfeit all the hours. If I put a hold, I need to pay $5 per month but can't use the hours during this time. I can't transfer to any of my family members either. This was never mentioned at the time of signing (must be in fine print) but they did mention that if you refer your friend, you get free massage. Why would I push my friends in this scam? read more

I heard that "Maryam B."was going to be posting a negative review on Yelp as I was in the spa when Maryam B was going off on the poor staff. I was standing in the hallway and didn't want to go into the front area as I didn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. I have been a member at Massage Luxe for over a year and have had nothing but fabulous experiences. From what I could glean from Maryam B's rant, she was trying to manipulate the system. The front office girl (I think her name is Cassidy) handled the situation much better than I would have. When I went into the front area after this horrible woman left, the two girls in the front were pretty shook up but handled it like pros. Pros: - Clean place and quiet massage areas - Good variety of solid massage therapists. - Waiting area is nice and relaxing - Good variety of services (massages / facials) - Front desk employees are nice and quick to check people in Cons: - Music may be a bit loud in massage rooms - Front desk employees don't really treat customers like they are returning loyal customers. It always seems like they don't know you or even acknowledge that you've been a member of the place for awhile. A simple "it's nice to see you again" or "welcome back" would be appreciated.
