We chose this buffet for one reason--the incredible view of Niagara Falls--and it absolutely delivered. The scenery was breathtaking, and I can only imagine how stunning it must be during the fall season. Our server, Walter, was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out or left a lasting impression. That said, the spectacular view more than made up for it. We arrived around 5 p.m. and were pleasantly surprised by their "kids eat free" promotion, which was a wonderful bonus for our family. The only downside was parking. While visiting Niagara Falls we were looking for a restaurant with great views. We found Massimo's and made a reservation and paid for window seats. That added charge was worth it because I loved being able to see the views while eating. That being said, as it got darker, the lights from inside the restaurant did cause a bit of a glare for photos and viewing. The food was good. For an appetizer we shared the Burrata which was very flavorful. For our main course we ordered the Bolognese. It was pretty good. The pasta felt a bit thick, but the sauce was tasty. The one drawback was getting there and finding the restaurant. We weren't staying on property, and finding the parking lot was very difficult. It wasn't clearly labeled on my reservation where to go or that we needed to get a card for validated parking. Once I got inside the hotel, I was still very confused. That's when I called the restaurant and spoke to the hostess Diane who was INCREDIBLY helpful! She explained exactly where I should go to find the restaurant, how my partner could find the parking lot, and all about the complimentary parking. She made what was starting out as a very frustrating experience into an overall great night. read more

Don't forget to bring your wallet to this place! Located on the 13th floor of the Sheraton, this restaurant is very elegant feeling. $$$ it's quite pricey. Each cocktail is $20. O got a mule and barely tasted the alcohol. Another person ordered a lemon cello drink and said it was mid. That being said you're paying for the ambiance and the view of the falls. The food is delicious and fresh. I got the burrata appetizer and the bolognese for my main dish. They're equally decadent. Food took a while to come out, but when it did it was hot. Our waiter was pleasant but didn't listen to my request when I asked for my daughter's buttered noodles to have the butter on the side. Needless to say the noodles were drenched and she didn't want to eat them. My other kids flat bread pizza was soggy and she said it tasted like store bought Nan. My hubby for risotto and it was ok. The buffet was excellent, along with great customer service. I had the vegetable lasagna, curry fish, greek salad, cheesecake tart and blackberries ( you know I had to go back for another round lol). The food was awesome! There are other food options to choose from within the buffet. The dining area is very spacious with a great view of the falls. We had a great dinner at Massimo's. We were seated at a window table overlooking the falls -- you can pay $15 to guarantee one or just arrive early and request it, which worked for us. My family loved our meal at this restaurant. The view of the falls was beautiful too. The staff was friendly and offered food suggestions when we asked. Everything was great. We started with the garlic bread and mushroom arancini. Oooh the truffle sauce with the arancini was so good. This is a dish not to miss if you like mushrooms and truffles. The arancini was soft to cut and was proportioned well with all of the ingredients. For mains we got Rigatoni Alla Bolognese, Rack of Lamb, cavatelli Al funghi, and lobster risotto. It was all really great and portions sizes were just right. I think I liked the cavatelli and lamb chops the best. The sauces and accompaniments were great. As we were getting ready for dessert, the fireworks were about to start. We had a great window seat to enjoy the show and the staff did not rush us at all. A nice setting with great views of the falls. However the quality of the food was not consistent with the location and in particular the chicken parmesan was poor. The staff were initially keen but on hearing of our disappointment made no effort to offer acknowledgement or a gesture of goodwill. I loved the bread appetizer as the bread was super crispy! We had a good night, but not sure it was worth all of the money. We did not come back after our stay at the Sheraton. Our server was off/on, just never sure where anyone was, but I do understand traveling to other countries, and they come when you need them only. It was a great view and so glad that we did it, but if you were not on a table right on the window, not sure that it would have been worth it. read more

I ordered a kid's-sized pasta with butter to-go after confirming with the bartender that children's meals were available. I was surprised and disappointed when I received the portion -- it was extremely small, even by Canadian standards. To my shock, I was charged $36 USD, the same price as a full chicken parmigiana dinner with linguine. I am genuinely so embarrassed for this restaurant to have served this and charge what they did for boxed ziti. I would appreciate an explanation as to how a plain buttered pasta for a child could be priced identically to a full entrée. I'm hoping this was an oversight, but if not, I believe it's only fair to question the value and transparency of the pricing structure. read more

This is an extremely delayed review lol We stayed in the area a few nights in November of 2021. This restaurant was in the hotel we stayed in and we decided dinner there one night would be great. Not having to dress for the weather outside was a bonus! We did make reservations earlier in the day. We were seated at a window table. It was kind of dark in the restaurant but I think it was so you can see the lights on the falls. The view of the falls was spectacular! The service and food was excellent!! It was a small sad portion with some yellow sauce that was supposed to make the plate look nicely plated but it just looked sloppy and dirty. Rigatoni Alla Bolognese - $41 CAD or $30 USD expensive but at least have some good sauce?! Food & service were very good! The view is great! We paid a $60 non-refundable premium to reserve window seating. It was a Sunday night at 6:00; I'm not sure that the premium reservation was necessary, as they were not yet crowded. Also, some other diners informed us of a better view where we could watch the sunset over the falls. We left jackets on our chairs, but the management apparently thought we'd pulled a dine & dash. Okay so I this being a restaurant in the hotel I was staying at, with a Falls view, it was a no brainer to try. That said, I would not recommend this place. Yes, there is a fall view, but honestly the lights from the inside the restaurant reflect on the window making it hard to see the falls at night for dinner. This may not apply if it gets darker later like in spring or summer. The food was meh. I had a $48 pasta with a red sauce and seafood (shrimp, calamari, and scallops). I should have known when I asked for the calamari to be removed and was told no because it comes as a mix. The flavor of the sauce was good, but the quality of the seafood did not match the price. Also, they apply an extra luxury tax so pay attention to your bill. We did not even bother with dessert. I do not recommend because it's way over priced and the food doesn't justify the cost. read more

The food is really bad. We ordered a risotto, shrimp pasta and octopus for appetizer. The octopus was dry with some ranch sauce at the bottom of the plate. There were some sweet corns and bell peppers that was it. Risotto was tasteless and the pasta was flat out bad. They charged $167 for this. The service was really awful. Our server was rude. To give an example, she asked about how the appetizer was and left immediately without hearing us. OR I had to wait for 20 mins for her to come and pour a glass of water to wash away the pasta. I didn't get pictures since their menu is so small they have been posted. It started off great and them went downhill. Not knowing this is part of the Sheraton hotel. I would never have booked it but OpenTable had great reviews and I feel they were inaccurate. I ordered a special drink and it was very bitter and not good. It had maple syrup so I thought it would be sweeter. We ordered the rustic garlic bread. We received bread with olive oil and balsamic and that was good which we thought was our appetizer but wasn't. When we received our appetizer it was very good. We spilt a Cesar salad and it was so bland it was terrible. There was enough dressing but no taste. Had bacon on it that was so dry. I got the pan roasted Atlantic Char and the rice and fish was overcooked chef Ramsey would have had a cow. It had a good flavor but flaws. My wife had the gnocchi amatriciana which the gnocchi was overcooked and the sauce was extremely bland. The price I paid for this dinner was shocking as I paid closed to the same for a steak dinner the night before. Our waitress wasn't very good and they were not busy. Matthew deserves all that is great in this world!! He greeted us at the door and was also our waiter. He treated us as if we were old friends and was amazing at recommendations and making sure we were taken care of! We were able to sit right at the window with our reservation and it was a nice view of the falls! We went early evening but I can imagine how amazing it looks at night. We ordered an Italian Paloma and virgin daiquiri for drinks. They both were delicious and paired well with the food. The gnocchi had great flavor with a great size portion as did the chicken parmesan. Both dishes had an authentic taste and great presentation. We did not have dessert however the table next to us talked about how great the dessert is. One thing that's annoying with most places in Niagara is the unnecessary tourist tax that is added. 13% sales tax on top of the 3% tourist tax and still need to make sure you are tipping at least 20%, it makes for quite the uptick in the bill. The ambiance was delightful. After a few hours down by the falls and exploring Clinton Hill w 2 school aged kids, we were happy to skip down the hill to the Sheraton for a dinner at Massimo's. The service was wonderful. The vibe was great. We didn't have window seats but could still enjoy the falls view from our booth. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to my picky kids. That being said my daughter ordered a pasta dish from the menu but only wanted it with butter. None of the yummy standard ingredients. We were still charged the full price of the pasta dish even though it was literally only pasta w butter. Overall it was a delightful respite. Food was definitely good. We felt like Italian, this restaurant touted a view of the falls and had good reviews, so we decided to try it and were we glad we did! As an appetizer we shared the Foraged Mushroom Arancini. These were great and the pesto and Parmesan were a great change from the marinara we have typically seen as an accompaniment. We had a big lunch so didn't want anything too heavy. My wife chose the Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Soup and I had the Cavatelli Ai Funghi. Coupled with a bottle of nice Chianti and we were both very happy. I reserved this restaurant for my husband's birthday celebration. When we get there, the hostess went in, checked and told us that they are setting up a couple of tables and to wait for a bit. So, we sat down on the couch and waited. Three more parties came while we were waiting. Two had reservations and one party, couple with two kids, did not have a reservation. I guess the hostess didn't know what to do and called her, what I guess is manager, to come and help. The couple with the kids started walking into the restaurant and he was like is your name Irina? She said, NO, it's not. I guess she was annoyed that they weren't letting her in because she didn't have a reservation and there were three other parties waiting, who had a reservation. Well, you wouldn't believe it, but he let her and her party through BEFORE everyone who had reservations. What the actual crap?!? Then he called my name and walked us into the restaurant. He stopped us right near the entrance and pointed at a high table with four high chairs. He said "I guess this table isn't good for you because of your child" (we were with a three year old). OF COURSE it isn't good for us and our three year old. Why even offer it?!?!? Then my husband said we asked for a table with a waterfall view when making the reservation and he said "well, EVERYONE asks for a table with a view, but it is not guaranteed and whatever we have available is what we have. That's the nature of the business. So, he offered us a booth with a huge work station that blocked literally the WHOLE view. I'm sorry, what?!? What the hell is a reservation for, then?!?!? The whole point is to reserve a table, so when the party comes, they don't have to wait. And there was a comment with the reservation that we wanted a table by the window. What's maddening is that the party that he let in before everyone, got to sit in a booth that had a view. We waited for a waitress for 10 minutes. When she finally came, one of the tables next to the window freed up, but this so called manager didn't bother approaching us to change our seats and at this point we were so upset, we wanted to avoid any contact with him. We sat down at our table at 8:06pm and received our food at 8:56pm. The steak was medium rare, even though we ordered medium well. They didn't have a steak knife. My husband might as well have eaten it like a Neanderthal and had an easier time than using a regular knife. The pasta for our three year old was adult pasta and they were all clumped together. Like, someone threw them into the pot and didn't bother to stir them. It was supposed to be an enjoyable birthday celebration for my husband, but we ended up having a miserable time. Even though I requested it, they didn't do anything like a small slice of cake or desert with a candle. We were very disappointed. We have never experienced such bad treatment from a manager at a restaurant. It was just horrendous. The waitress was nice and the tortellini was yummy. I will never return to this restaurant. I have a feeling they don't like kids there because all the parties with small kids were sitting in the middle or by the wall. Epic fail of a night. If you are looking for a nice restaurant with a fabulous view - this is it ! We have a great experience for drinks and dining and the plus was watching the light show develop on the falls after dark. We had the added benefit of extended fireworks for Canada day. Food was very good and the server was very accommodating and friendly. Hard to believe some of the negative posts ??? For our last night in Niagara Falls, we knew we wanted something special and memorable, and since Massimo's was right inside our hotel, it seemed like a total no-brainer. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were quickly shown to a beautiful table with a jaw-dropping view of the falls. Soon after, our waiter, Rowen, introduced himself to us and we knew we were in good hands. (As an aside, it's pretty incredible how much a great waiter like Rowen can enhance a dining experience. He did everything right and we walked away from our meal beaming.) We decided to start with a couple of appetizers, the Caesar Salad ("baby romaine, creamy garlic dressing, crispy prosciutto, garlic crostini, grana padano") and the Mushroom Crostini ("grilled housemade sourdough, sauteed mushrooms, fontina melt"). They arrived to the table a short time later and they were both complete knockouts. Massimo's has taken a couple of familiar dishes and elevated them considerably, and I'd be hard-pressed to name an occasion where I ate better versions of these iconic concoctions. (As an aside, I want to again single out Rowen, as he made it clear that we wouldn't be rushed at any point during our meal. In fact, he waited for our okay before telling the kitchen to fire up our mains. Just amazing, attentive service.) For my main course, I knew I had to try the Rigatoni Alla Bolognese ("slow braised beef & pork ragu"), as I just can't say no to a bolognese if I see it on a menu. And indeed, this is an absolutely top-notch version of the venerable dish. The sauce contains that deep, rich flavor you want out of a good bolognese, while the plentiful pork was prepared just about perfectly. I will say, however, that the pasta was a little bit on the overcooked side, but then again, I do like my pasta on the far end of the al dente scale. At this point, we were pretty stuffed, but we figured we should share at least one dessert, so we decided to go with the Tiramisu ("savoiardi, mascarpone, espresso"). I was only hungry enough to eat just a few bites, but I will say that this was a much different take on tiramisu than I was expecting. It's more of a cake than a pudding, but all the components work really well together and the flavors are certainly on point. All in all, Massimo's provided one of the best dining experiences we'd had in quite some time. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was romantic, and the service was nothing short of impeccable.
