I had an oil change done on August 1st. When I got home I checked the level and saw that it was far from full. I went back and was told "You don't know what you're looking at". He said ANYWHERE within the XXXXX area was good enough and he didn't want to "Overfill it". I asked how it would be overfilling it if anywhere within that area was good and there was plenty of area left. He dismissed me like I was an idiot. There is a tag from the manufacturer stating this vehicle requires 8.4 quarts. He said that wasn't what his chart says. I have a good rapport with one of the mechanics next door, but I will never allow this jerk to touch any one of my vehicles again! read more

Worker was a little rude and snarky. I pulled into the garage and she just stared at me for a minute or so before asking "what do u need" and telling me to sit off to the side. Price is $40 with labor and parts which is a mediocre price. It's not $26 like the other reviews from a few years ago will have u believe. I am so glad I was introduced to this place. Every time I'm out in 15mins or less and they do an incredible job for $26 total for an oil change. They also offer a rebate for an extra couple bucks off for the next one. No trying to up sell you on other stuff for your vehicle like at other places. I am sad to say that I had a bad experience. I pulled up to get an oil change and they quoted me a A higher price due to having a foreign car. However, that was not the issue. The issue is the attitude when a I questioned it. I do have the right as a consumer to question or question choices that are given to me. They did not like my reaction and information regarding prices. They clearly did not want to "deal" with me and had no problem showing me the door. Sad to be treated like this. The man I dealt with is clearly unhappy. Not very good right off the bat customer service. Not saying you have to come out singing and clapping but jeez. He didn't say hello.. he didn't say anything while he looked at the car. He Went inside the office and didn't see him again until he showed me the door. I made a decision to go somewhere else based on the way I was treated and will not return. I need to know and trust especially with my car that there is value in the thing you do for a living .. the one thing that your business thrives on... us Customers and it won't be me or anyone else that I can communicate it with for future customers. read more

I think there are two separate Yelp accounts for this same location. I have already raved about the Master Tech in my other review, but I am more than willing to do it again. I have been getting my oil changed here for at least five years now as it is located relatively close to my office. They get you in and out in no time. This is the best thing about the place though. The best part is the customer service. They are kind, knowledgeable, and honest. I had taken all of our family's cars to this location for 3 years because of the convenience to my house. Every time Ted the owner serviced my car he was very unfriendly and rude but I got in and out quickly. Today my daughter went there to get her oil changed and Ted, the owner once again was extremely rude, short and condescending. She's a young girl that just had some questions about her brakes and he said looking at them was not his job. I called to ask why he needed to address her so rudely and he was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. I don't know how he's been able to stay in business treating his customers the way he does. I thought that this was a reliable garage with all of their certificates of accomplishments. I took my Ford in for an oil change and the tech notices an alignment issue. $1250 later, they fixed it. Then 2 days later, the engine fails leaving it undriveable. "The engine is shot" The 2 stars is for this service still can come with a smile. Don't really know now what to do. Shame on me! read more

He made sound recommendations and made me feel more comfortable than I have in a long time at a mechanics. Very appealing wait area and even had stuff for my kids. I chose this place to get the oil changed on my 2014 Chrysler 200 because of all of rave reviews. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience. The oil change took about 30 minutes and I was surprised to see one lone guy (the owner) working on car after car. He was fast and efficient. I paid the bill and was on my way from Roselle to the Costco in Bloomingdale. That's when I smelled the oil. Upon pulling into the parking space there was a river of oil. The owner of Masterlube told me my car held 6 quarts of oil and I believe 5.5 quarts were not in my car any longer. I made it to my sons business down the street from Costco and he discovered the broken oil ring gasket that caused the problem. Masterlube was called and Ted did send someone out to replace the filter, the gasket, and refill the oil. I followed him back to Masterlube where Ted checked out the car and cleaned most of the engine. I still have oil dripping from the engine on my garage floor right now. I realize this is probably a freak occurrence but it cost precious amounts of my time and could have resulted in costly damage to my car. Ted did apologize and I could tell he was upset but the least he could have done was reimburse me the $33.35 for the headache. I will not be recommending or visiting his establishment again. read more

Since moving from Elk Grove Vlg to Schaumburg I had still been driving to EG to get my oil changes, but decided this time to look local. I tried three different oil change facilities before bringing my car to Masterlube. One didn't allow oil changes until after 5pm, one was too busy to see me, and the last ended up being out of business. And I am SO glad because Masterlube was exactly what I was looking for. Took maybe 10 minutes to complete my oil change and I got to sit right in front of my vehicle watching. A very nice gentlemen not only changed my oil, but he even vacuumed my drivers side! Not sure if this is routine, but I sure appreciated it! I also loved that I was able to just drive my car right in and was allowed to drive my car out so I didn't have to mess with a moved seat. I was never told to get any other "recommended" work done or change anything. I loved that it was strictly the oil change and done. Upon check out I was even given a few rebates for some money back from the already great price of $26. I will definitely be returning to Masterlube for future oil changes on all the vehicles in my household. read more
