Went on the 13th of Oct. There was a long line but so worth it. I love their matcha. I first tried this when I was in Vegas back in the early summer and was glad to find they had a store in Centerville but was more than excited to see they opened one in Tyson's Corner! Now I can stop by more often to get it. They do have a lot on their menu but you can look online at their website for descriptions or just ask them when ordering if you have questions. Amazing yummy drinks and desserts! So much matcha goodness in one place. They have a variety of items and their matcha is good quality. Went for the matcha lavender latte and their pana cotta. I've tried their matcha ice cream and cheesecakes before. The latte was soo good and flavorful. I'd definitely reorder if I come back again. They have so many different flavors for their pana cotta like the matcha, earl grey, hojicha, and sesame. Personally, earl grey is my favorite but I decided to get them all just to try. I think they also had the pumpkin flavor at one point but it was seasonal. You can reserve through IG dm since they can run out on weekends which is what I did. It comes nicely packaged in these pink boxes and a big brown paper bag. Once you're done with the pana cottas you have these cute little reusable glass jars to store things. I have so many from all the times I've gotten pana cotta. Also, staff is super friendly and helpful if you need recommendations. They also a rewards card if you buy around 9 or 10 items above $3 I think you get a free drink which is great. read more

This cafe is awesome for matcha lovers! Got the Matcha float. The matcha they use is of very high grade. It's ceremonial grade matcha grown in Japan so their ice creams and floats have a very rich Matcha flavor. If the matcha flavors are too intense for you, I would go for a latte or frappe which will be more diluted. I haven't found any other cafe that sells matcha beverages this good around the DC area. I had already been to the location in Centreville, and I was excited to see this one so close to me. I ordered the green tea shaved ice with Azuki beans and mocha and although it took a long time to be made, it did not disappoint. The soft serve from our order came out very quickly and many customers were helped while I waited until our order was completed. I would definitely go back again! read more

My husband and I made a special trip to try their ice cream after work. When we were ready to order, the girl stood in front the cashier told us they close at 8 pm so she doesn't take order anymore. I looked at my watch it was 7:56 pm. I told her my watch it's not 8 pm yet. She waved her hand and told me it's "one minute over now". So we left in great disappointment. When we walked out the mall, I thought maybe my watch's battery is low so the time isn't right. My husband took out his iPhone and it was 8:00 pm. So the girls watch might be 5 minutes faster than ours. But when we about to place the order, she wasn't cleaning or preparing to close. She was just standing in front of the cash register swiping her phone. People are still eating ice cream at their tables. It's not we came in before close and want to order Beef Wellington. It's not they ran out of ice cream either. It's a big disappointment. Never go back again and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

This matcha be interesting to you or it maybe not. Do you like green tea but asked yourself, "how can I make this taste like grass with a powdery aftertaste?" Well, I guess billions of Asian people can't be wrong because we've be at it for centuries. But thanks to innovations brought to us by western influences like Dairy Queen and morbid obesity, we can now offer this to people as a sugary, frozen treat! I feel like the matcha cream and matcha chiffon made a very nice combination together, the matcha soft serve was very delicious and creamy and the chiffon was good a well. This is an interesting kiosk inside Tysons I Mall. I have been to the mall many times and never noticed this place so thankfully, another Yelper indicated where it was located (between Zara and VS on the way out to the outdoor pavilion). I ordered the Maiko Special and WOW, it was yummy. Just so many things going on but if yo like simple desserts this would not be for you. Luckily, I like lots of interesting things in my dessert and this was exactly it. I ordered the Matcha/Vanilla mix icecream and it was perfect. I love matcha icecream but this seemed pretty darn strong so the vanilla cut the bitterness (but it was still very good). I loved everything they put into it including mochi balls, chestnut, cake, and some sweet jeely and black bean paste at the bottom. It was just yum and worth the long line wait. I wished it was a few dollars cheaper but still, I would order the same thing again. Very tasty! read more

I ordered an iced matcha with kuromitsu and mochi ball as toppings. They forgot to add kuromitsu. Also the matcha powder didn't blend well, I got a lot of matcha powder caking in my mouth. The center of mochi ball is also too hard in the way that is like it either have been put in the fridge for too long or it's not well cooked. Overall, very disappointed experience here. Not worth to wait the long line. You got other better drink/dessert choices in the mall. read more

Overall I really like this place. There matcha ice cream tastes great (can actually taste the matcha...not just green vanilla ice cream like most places haha). I've also gone for just their lattes and plain teas before and I think overall food/drink wise everything is great. My only complaint is that overall the service is a bit slow. I've been during times when the line is 20 people back and I can understand why it may take me a while to get my order, but I've also been when there are very few customers and my order still takes a while. If they could improve on their speed, it would definitely be 5 stars from me! read more

My complaints mostly have to do with logistics and service rather than the actual product, which was good. I waited in line for at least 20 minutes, when there were only a handful of people in front of me. After placing my order, I waited for another 15 minutes to get it. When I got to the counter they were out of almond milk, and their only choices were soy and whole milk. So I waited about 35 minutes for hot plain matcha. There seemed to be two counters where drinks were being placed, so I hovered awkwardly back and forth between the two, making sure I didn't miss mine. One woman handing out drink orders was also one of only a couple people making them, and I realized pretty quickly that she was a big reason service was so slow. She'd yell out a name on the ticket and then stand there until the owner came and got it, every single time, instead of lining them up on the counter and going back to make another drink. The counter where most of the drinks were being placed is sandwiched in the middle of the line to order and the cafe's seating, which means that there are people milling about and it can be hard to tell where the line begins and ends. The menu was also overwhelming and had way too many choices on it, along with no descriptions. I look forward to trying this place again once they've gotten their bearings and have perhaps made a few changes. read more

The matcha/vanilla swirl soft cone in a waffle cone is so yummy! The waffle cone is the best I have ever had - so light, thin, yet sturdy enough to hold a huge swirl of soft serve ice cream. I wish they get rid of the sesame icecream permanently. It tastes weird in itself. It might be ok if just by itself BUT when you have a mix it with matcha, you have a criminally disaster of taste. Matcha has its own defined unique taste that rarely can mix with anything else but the neutral vanilla. Sesame is also unique but also bad and weird. If you mix the two together, you probably can't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Not recommend the black sesame. That thing shouldn't exist to begin with. read more
