I've been going to Shilla's Bakery in Tysons Corner for a while now, and it's become my go-to spot. It's inside Tysons Corner Center on the second floor, so parking is just the usual mall parking. Easiest if you park 2nd floor food court parking then go up to 3rd floor garage and walk over the sky bridge. They always have fresh baked goods so it always smells so yummy when you walk in. There's seating if you want to hang out for a bit instead of just grabbing something and leaving. The staff is super helpful and welcoming, whether you're popping in for a quick snack or ordering a cake. I've ordered cakes from them for birthdays, graduations, and other celebrations, and they've always turned out great. I really like that their cakes are not too sweet (better for the Asian palette). Prices are fair too, which makes it even better. Their brown sugar boba latte is also sleeper good. Definitely recommend them whether you're at the mall or needing a cake. read more

This is my 2nd time at this location. This Shilla bakery carries similar baked goods as the Chantilly bakery and other 4-5 bakeries I frequent. I appreciate the pastries are are individually packaged (which is a super plus for me). There were so many pastries and gorgeous cakes to choose from, as well as cute shaped cakes. They provide samples of some of the pastries, which I love. The price point is roughly the same as the nearby bakeries, but the basic drinks are slightly lower. The place was pretty packed, which isn't surprising being that it's Tyson's corner. I already tried few of their pastries before, so I didn't grab any. Would I return? definitely! read more

Asian inspired bakery inside Tysons Corner mall. Top floor in the corner close to Sephora. There is seating inside the restaurant although it might not be good for large groups. They have baskets available so you can pick up as many pastries as you may want. They also have hot and cold drinks available for purchase. I'm not sure if this is the franchise's standard for their tiramisu, but if you are selling a cream cake just name it so. Don't call it tiramisu cake if there's almost no cake. Service was friendly, and I got my coffee out quickly, so no issues there, but minus a star for the food. The croffle left a lot to be desired, we tasted no hint of croissant, and it was basically a waffle you had in your freezer. Syrup on it was ok. Had an amazing experience here with the absolute best chocolate strawberry hot latte ever. Simply amazing, it had a nice jammy strawberry taste and a cozy milky chocolate to balance it. The two young ladies that helped us out that day on Thursday afternoon were very patient and sweet. We bought several drinks which were all superb and some pastries to take home, but we wish we bought more because they had so many adorable cakes and fresh pastries that sounded lovely. I'll definitely be back again for another latte and desserts! The bing su was good, but I didn't like the peanut butter powder on top (tasted like PB fit from Costco). I think it would have been better to add water to it so that it was a peanut butter drizzle instead of so powdery (like doing the cinnamon challenge). The staff at this Shilla were nice, but they didn't have any samples and had a smaller bakery selection than the Shilla I was used to. The decor was great too. We ordered Thai Tea Latte and Nutella Donut. Thai tea latte wasn't my favorite. It was more on the milky side and the tea taste was much more subtle. When I think of Thai Tea, I expect a stronger taste. This might not be for everyone though. Nutella Donut was definitely a highlight! I was craving something sweet and I got it. Unfortunately I think they've stopped doing samples since COVID. Nonetheless, the breads are always super delicious, fluffy and creamy. We've also ordered a number of birthday cakes from here as well and they'll often give us a free roll when we do so. The cakes are overall pretty yummy, with a selection of flavors ranging from chocolate to matcha buttercream as well as fresh cream selections. My favorite items are the loaf of bread with cream, napoleon sand, rolls, and the glazed loaf that comes in a tin. Definitely stop by Shilla if you have a chance! read more

Shilla is a classic local Korean bakery chain in the NOVA area. I have loved their Annandale, Centreville, and Chantilly locations, but their Tyson's shop doesn't hit the same. They still offer the standard bakery items (e.g. cream pans, swiss rolls, twisted doughnuts), and this location typically always offers Japanese jiggly cheesecake. However, the quality and variety here pale in comparison to their other shops. If you're in the mall and are craving a light pastry to eat, this is the place to go, but if you can venture out to their other locations, I would do so instead. read more

Came here to pick up some dessert after a day at the mall on a friend's recommendation. He loves this place and always orders his cakes from here. A lot of the baked goods were sold out when I got there as it was the end of the day but they seem to have a decent variety of cakes and desserts. I love fruity desserts and decided to go with the mango mousse cup. Although the portion size was decent, I felt that it tasted artificial and I wish it had more real fruit incorporated into it. To be completely truthful, I did not enjoy the food at Shilla Bakery & Cafe. I would say it's fine if you're in a pinch or want to satisfy a craving, but I can't quite recommend this place if you want something good. The egg tart tasted really old, almost stale and I ate it right as I bought it. The shortcrust was soggy and the egg had a weird taste to it--I don't know how to explain it. Maybe it was just a bad day though. My next problem was with the Bingsoo. Whenever I think of bingsoo, I think of a bed of soft fluffy ice topped with fresh fruits. There were an assortment of fruits which was nice except for the fact that some were from a can, like the peaches. I'd rather have less assortment but fresher fruits for my toppings. The Condensed Milk Bread was to die for!! It was so soft and fluffy. The crust with the sweetened condensed milk soaked in was our favorite part, it added the perfect amount of sweetness. Wish they heated it up right. I have requested to get it heated, but it wasn't that warm. Still it was good. Fruit cake: the cake part was a bit dry. However, I liked the cream was not butter based. I can't explain how good they were and how cool is to have such pastries so handy in the DMV (no need to go to Korea ;)! ) Service was good. Found a hair in the cake!!! I drove from Maryland to this store to buy a cake for my daughter's birthday because she loves Asian bakery treats. We discovered a hair at the bottom of the cake, so I immediately called the store. Their customer service is truly lacking. The person who answered the phone didn't even offer an apology; instead, they asked me to return the cake to the store for them to investigate. I don't have the time to drive back to Virginia, and they should have at least apologized. This was a significant disappointment, and I will NEVER return to this store. read more

There were three different options, a coffee one, fruit one, and I can't remember the third. My friend and I got the friend bingsu. It has three scoops of ice cream (vanilla, strawberry and matcha), shaved ice, sliced fruit at the bottom and topped with corn flakes and Oreos. It was delicious. read more
